Finally caught up, it took weeks but I'm back to a normal schedule after this I hope .
NWA Hybrid Pro TV Results 29/09/2012
Welcome to Hybrid Pro TV! With Johnny Gargano, along with the entire Antichrists (barring Cibernetico) in Japan, alongside John Morrison and Paul Burchill, things are a little lighter this week on Hybrid Pro TV
John Laurinaitis comes out to start the show, with a briefcase in hand.
Laurinaitis: Hello sports entertainment fans, welcome to the show. I have two announcements to make this evening. First of all, Hybrid Pro is to introduce a new championship belt. We have a lot of able singles competitors who haven't been able to get into the Heavyweight Title picture as of yet, and this belt will be one that they are able to compete for. It is the Hybrid Pro Open Rules Title, and there are two notable stipulations to this title. First of all, the champion chooses the stipulation of the match the belt is defended in. And secondly, the belt must be defended every single week!
The fans seem to like this decision and cheer.
Laurinaitis: The first champion will be crowned in a tournament over 2 weeks here on Hybrid Pro TV. Next week we will see the 1st round and semi final matches in the 8 man tournament. Then at Octoberfest, the new champion will be crowned.
Another awesome announcement which the fans love.
Laurinaitis: Now to tonight. I've decided to sign a big singles match based on a rivalry that has never truly been settled, nor had the chance to be settled. It will be Cibernetico of The Antichrists taking on John Cena! And this match will.....
Before Laurinaitis can say anything else though, out onto the ramp comes Kyle Matthews
Matthews: Again Laurinaitis? Yet again I'm upstaged, forced to go on second last so you can have The Antichrists, the group I single handedly destroyed get top billing. What have I got to do John? All I want is to be recognised as the best wrestler this company has to offer, because as long as I hold this belt thats what I am.
Laurinaitis: Now Kyle, your already in hot water after not only putting your hands on me at the Sunrise Cup, but putting your hands on an official last week. Continue your current actions and you could be on your way to suspension or being stripped of that belt altogether.
Matthews: You'd like that, wouldn't you John, you'd like to suspend me and get me out of your hair for a while. And strip me of this belt and suddenly nobody can complain at playing second fiddle. Your so biased John that its pathetic, I'd expect better of a supposed impartial Commissioner.
Laurinaitis: What do you want me to do Kyle? What is it going to take to get you to fall into line and stop threatening non wrestlers and officials?
Matthews: Put me in the main event John and recognise me as the ace, thats all I'm asking. Do that and I promise I won't put my hands on another official.
Laurinaitis: Alright Kyle, you want it that bad, you've got it. Tonight you and Trent Barreta will main event Hybrid Pro TV for the Heavyweight Title!
Well Kyle Matthews has gotten what he wanted, the question is will he be a man of his word and not touch any non-wrestlers?
James Storm vs "The Man Beast" Rhino vs Samuray Del Sol
A fine opening match here, as Del Sol managed to go toe to toe with two of the most talented and experienced wrestlers on the Hybrid Pro roster despite lacking a little in size compared to his two more heavyweight opponents. Rhino was as intense as always, and he and Storm certainly had quite a brawl here, with Del Sol taking big risks to keep up with them. Those risks didn't pay off for him here, as Rhino nailed the GORE!!!!!, nearly snapping him in half. Storm however nailed a Superkick out of nowhere before Rhino could cover, as Storm then pinned Del Sol and secured the win.
Winner- James Storm
The Worlds Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) vs The Revolution (Jack Swagger and Chuck Taylor)
For the most part this was effectively a handicap match, as Taylor's arm was too badly injured for him to have any kind of major impact in this match, and he stayed out of there to avoid suffering any further damage. Swagger fought hard though and used his size to toss Haas and Benjamin around, plus went toe to toe with them both on the mat. Swagger succumbed to the odds eventually and TWGTT used their wide range of double team moves to pick him apart. Swagger finally made the tag and Taylor got in, and did his best, battling both men admirably, before Benjamin Superkicked his arm and that was Taylor finished. Swagger took Benjamin out of the ring with a Clothesline, then escaped a German by Haas, hitting the Doctor Bomb! 1-2-3, quite an upset considering the experience of TWGTT and the fact it was a handicap match most of the time.
Winners- The Revolution
We head backstage where Randy Orton is being interviewed by Scott Hudson
Hudson: Randy, you've had your issues with Damien Sandow over the past few weeks, and there seems to be some confusion as to why things have gotten this heated. Care to explain the situation to us?
Orton: Its like this Scott, when I joined The Group, I joined it expecting us to make an impact in a big way, to all be one and become the best that Hybrid Pro had to offer. But thats not the way Sandow saw it, he wanted all the glory for himself, and thats now how a group should be run. So I destroyed them, and now I want to destroy Sandow, to show him what happens when you get on the wrong side of a viper. Sandow, I won't rest until you face me in the ring, then when I destroy you, I will have vanquished the demons that joining your group gave me!
Before Orton can answer any further question, Damien Sandow attacks from behind! He nails Orton over the head with the pipe from last week, and delivers several more shots with Orton on the ground! He then takes the microphone from Hudson.
Sandow: How does that feel Randy, its not so nice being attacked from behind now is it. You destroyed my Group, you will not listen to reason, and you have taken out my closest allies. Well no more, I will not stand for such stupidity any longer. At Octoberfest, it will be me who gets revenge, and enlightens everyone in attendance, perhaps even you if you have any brain cells left. Your welcome!
Scramble Tag, Winners Get An NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match At Octoberfest
The Token Black Team (ACH and Rich Swann) vs The Revolution (Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly) vs The Stampede Bulldogs (Tyson Kidd and Harry Smith) vs Team Weed (Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy)
The former NWA World Tag Team Champions Team Weed make their return after several months of inactivity. hardy was supposedly clean, but RVD has helped him to get high again, as Team Weed took to their air with reckless abandon in what was a very exciting tag team match. Indeed pretty much all of these teams took to their air in some form, but the match certainly got a lot more mat based whenever The Revolution or Stampede Bulldogs were in there. Things got heated between the Bulldogs and The Revolution late on as they started fighting around ringside, leaving The Token Black Team and Team Weed in the ring. After a huge 5 Star Weed Splash, RVD would pin ACH and pick up a huge win, in addition to getting a title match at Octoberfest.
Winners- Team Weed
We cut to Japan where we see highlights from Hybrid Pro's involvement in Rising Sun Resuringu's Squared Circle of the Sun X: Epic Encounter, including Paul Burchill's path of destruction in the Kazuchika Okada/Takashi Sugiura match, Hirooki Goto vs Takeshi Morishima, Johnny Gargano successfully defending his Junior Heavyweight Title against The Devil Kid in a very brutal matchup, and the introduction of John Morrison and Paul Burchill as part of the foreign exchange.
We then cut to backstage in Japan with The Antichrists, with Hirooki Goto doing the talking.
Goto: My contention remains intact Maeda, and with The Antichrists on my side, I will be the last man standing. The Grand Championship will soon be mine, and there's not a thing that can be done to stop me! But The Antichrists have another headache, and that headache is a thing called The Revolution. Now Cibernetico plans to take good care of their leader Johnny Gargano, Jon Moxley and Shinsuke Nakamura have plans for Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly, and Brock Lesnar will annihilate Jack Swagger with ease, which leaves me with Chuck Taylor. A man who last week had his arm near snapped off in hilarious circumstances, he really is the weak link of their group. Chuck, at Octoberfest, I want you in a singles match, so I can end your pathetic excuse for a career, and I will put my contention on the line to do it. Chuck, on October 13th, your dead!
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match
The Showstealers (Michael Shane and Joey Matthews) vs The United Nations (Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett)
The former champions earned their rematch after victory in a 3 way tag match last week over The Stampede Bulldogs and The Token Black Team. And McIntyre and Barrett looked focused in a big way here, they wanted those belts back and took the flight to The Showstealers with their fists and their power. Indeed Shane took quite a beating from the two, who even pushed the rules a little bit in there, most notably with closed fists being thrown and attacks behind the referee's back. Finally Shane broke free after the Sweet Shane Music out of nowhere on McIntyre, and made the tag to Matthews who took down both his opponents single handedly. Matthews then charged at Barrett and took him over the top with a Cross Body, as Shane pulled himself to his feet before McIntyre. He nails the Sweet Shane Music a second time, and pins McIntyre to retain the titles.
Winners- The Showstealers
Post match The United Nations shook hands with and raised the arms of The Showstealers. As they left, Barrett got a microphone.
Barrett: As you will all know, myself and Drew McIntyre have been allies for a long time now. Yes we have had our differences in the past, but united we have proven to be a fantastic team. However it is now time for the winds of change to sweep the NWA. Myself and Drew McIntyre will always be allies, and anytime either of us needs a tag partner, whether its to settle a rivalry or challenge for some titles, we will be here. But now it is time for us to concentrate on making an impact in singles competition. I have no doubt that Drew McIntyre is a future champion, and as for me, the Barrett Barrage is about to make an impact in Hybrid Pro!
This is some big news, it appears The United Nations will no longer be a regular tag team, though will still team when the opportunity arises. How will Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett do in singles competition?
No Disqualification Match
Cibernetico vs John Cena
John Laurinaitis was to announce this match as being no disqualification before being interrupted by Kyle Matthews. Cena never had his shot at revenge against Cibernetico, the man who helped put him on the sidelines for over a month with a concussion. This was his opportunity, and he brought the aggression that you would expect, alongside that coldness which has had the fans questioning what side he is on. Cibernetico used that power of his to control Cena, and also seemed to be playing some weird head games, telling Cena to "give in to his inner demons" and " switch to the dark side", which did seem to be having an effect on Cena. Cena fought back though, smashing Cibernetico with some nasty chair shots: it took 3 to get Cibernetico to the mat. Cena then got Cibernetico up for the Attitude Adjustment, but Sheamus ran down and booted Cena in the face with the Brogue Kick! Cibernetico didn't seem to care much, grabbing Cena by the throat and pulling him up. GARRA CIBERNETICA ON A CHAIR! Cibernetico covers and that is it.
Winner- Cibernetico
Sheamus's interference here does seem relevant considering what Cena did to him last week, yet at the same time it is somewhat questionable considering who Cena was facing here. Was Sheamus's interference here merely to get some revenge on Cena, or could it be that he is in cahoots with Cibernetico? And if so, does Cena know about it, and that could be why he's shown no loveloss for Fella? We will soon find out, as Sheamus will be interviewed next week, plus we will see a tag team match as Sheamus teams with Randy Orton to take on John Cena and Damien Sandow!
NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title Match
"The Only Truly Hybrid Athelete in the NWA" Kyle Matthews vs Trent Barreta
Barreta was offered this title match after his shot at the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title was interrupted by Matthews last week. And Barreta was out for revenge, diving out onto Matthews before he could even get in the ring, and brawling with him all around ringside before the match even begun. Barreta took some big risks, and they largely paid off as he got near fall after near fall when taking to the air. Barreta then went for the big one, the Dudebuster DDT, but Matthews turned it into a Suplex which planted Barreta right on his arm, and Matthews went after it with pure aggression, showing zero mercy as he ripped apart the arm in minutes. Barreta fought back briefly, nailing the Gobstopper which got a 2.999, but missed the Dudebuster DDT again and Matthews quickly locked in the Hidaka Lock. Barreta has no choice but to tap.
Winner- Kyle Matthews
Matthews looks pleased with his work, and has the referee raise his hand. RIGHT HAND TO THE REFEREE! Oh come on, he said he wasn't going to put his hands on any more officials. And now he's stomping away at the arm of Barreta. He put him back in the Hidaka Lock! Road agents and more officials run out to break this up, as Matthews shouts at the camera "This is what is going to happen to you Gargano, the only truly hybrid athlete in the NWA is going to break your arm and end your career!".
