NWA ATTITUDE PRESENTS
"MONDAY NIGHT WAR
LOCATION: The Wolstein Center, Cleveland, OH
BROADCAST TEAM: Lenny Leonard & D-Lo Brown
EVENT DATE: November 26, 2012
"The Middle Eastern Nightmare" Sheik Abdul Bashir would defeat "The Everyman" Cody Deaner in a fairly one sided contest. Bashir would use underhanded tactics early to try and squelch Deaner's spirit, jawing with the fans frequently as he made it very clear that he despises everything that the "Everyman" represents. Deaner would make a big rally after escaping a Sleeper Hold, hitting a punching combo and a big Unemployment Line (Flying Clothesline), before trying to hit the Mulletbutt (Swandive Headbutt), only to have Bashir move and land face first on the mat. From there, Bashir would utilize some theatrics before nailing a move he calls the Desert Storm, according to D-Lo Brown who had talked to him earlier in the night, which is a Spinning Death Valley Driver, to earn the pinfall victory.
Jimmy Yang & Delirious would use their well rounded skills and experience to overcome a very seasoned looking tandem in "The Russian Hooligan" Alex Koslov & "The Hitman" Caylen Croft. Croft and Koslov both have the ability to really make even the smallest moves seem to have a lot of meaning, just by torquing their bodies or using certain theatrics to add emphasis to something as simple as a headlock or a knee drop. Yang would show some superb agility with acrobatic counters, while Delirious would fight off the two bigger men with blistering chops and unorthodox defense, as well as some very sound technical work that left everyone very impressed. In the end, Delirious would actually counter Koslov's Red Scare (Russian Legsweep into a Cobra Stretch) into a Cobra Stretch of his own, Yang having neutralized "The Hitman" on the outside with a Suicide Dive, giving his team the submission victory after an entertaining display.
Koslov and Croft were not satisfied with this, however, Koslov feeling disrespected by Delirious apparently, as they attacked the victors with chairs and then "The Russian Hooligan" applied the Cobra Stretch to Delirious until officials were able to pry him off. Tensions between these men may not be over, if history has taught us anything.
Joey Mercury w/ Jamie Keyes would have one of the most impressive showings of the night in his defeat of "The Motivator" Xavier Woods. Mercury probably should have been the bad guy here, as he oozed arrogance and his lovely valet, Keyes, would interfere in the contest a number of times in small ways, but Woods before the match came off very condescending, as he basically insulted the crowd by informing them that the city of Cleveland is very depressing for a number of reasons, and they should all take notes and learn from his example, and see how a truly well motivated, healthy, capable human being carries themselves and achieves victory. Mercury would thoroughly punish Woods, despite Woods showing some very good physical capabilities, Mercury just looked to be the seasoned veteran that he is, and he really worked the crowd and picked apart Woods in convincing fashion, showing some shades of the legendary Shawn Michaels in the process, and would hit his finishing move he calls The Double Exposure (Snap Double Underhook DDT) to get the sound victory.
"Iron Man" Rob Conway w/ Jillian Beyor would take the next match over "The Guiding Light" Elijah Burke in what was a roller coaster of a match, sticking to the fundamentals and relying on some rather underhanded tactics in the process. Burke is a born again Christian, and he came out with a very positive attitude and slapped the hands and really tried to get the crowd pumped up and ready for action, telling them that he wants to be a positive role model in a business full of blood thirsty individuals, like Rob Conway, and that he wants to show that perseverance and hard work can pay off. Conway, with his slicked back hair and Jillian Beyor feeding his ego, didn't want any part of it, telling Burke that he can bow to anyone or any God he pleases, but tonight he's going to find out why Rob Conway is the "Master of the Universe," and proves that it doesn't matter what you throw at him, "The Iron Man" can withstand anything put in his way. Burke would use a lot of high impact offense, keeping the pace very quick and utilizing a lot of clotheslines, dropkicks, powerslams, just whatever he could to keep Conway off balance and reeling. Conway would turn the tides with his ability to shift momentum with a quick counter or evasion before turning to a more ground and pound sort of offense that seemed to really punish Burke. Beyor would distract the referee and Burke, which "The Guiding Light" seemed to be getting very upset. Conway would shout out "IRON FIST!" however, causing Burke to turn, and that's when he blasted him with a pair of Brass Knuckles, maybe they were made of iron, who knows, but regardless, Burke dropped like a rock as the referee was turning and didn't get to see the contact. Conway would tuck the knucks back into his tights after the pinfall was counted, and the fans were livid over this, but Conway had achieved some great heat as he strutted to the back victorious.
"The Firebrand" Chris Dickinson might be the most vile bastard on the roster, coming out and screaming "HAIL SATAN!" and provoking the fans, even threatening to punch a pregnant lady in the crowd, but he also proved to be a very tough competitor, overcoming a huge challenge in "The Black Suplex Machine" Tyson Tarver. Tarver had a little bit of size on Dickinson, and he would use it to take him down early, but both men showed a great understanding of mat grappling and striking throughout. Tarver was able to capture and slam Dickinson with a T-Bone Suplex and a Sambo Suplex throughout the contest, living up the nickname he has earned in the region, but Dickinson would show off his extensive martial arts background and the new muscle he has added in the last year, really punishing Tarver near the end after a big Spinning Roundhouse Kick to the head. Dickinson would deliver a finisher he calls the Brain Drill (Spinning Vertical Drop Brainbuster) to finally put Tarver away after an all out war. The fans had to show both men respect after this match, as they left absolutely everything in the ring tonight.
"El Mesias" Ricky Banderas would barely manage to overcome the massive "Big Rig" Brodie Lee in what as a tempestuous Hardcore rules match. This was pretty simply a brawl, which saw both men bleed a great deal and try to torture one another however they could, battling all over the arena floor in the process. Banderas would almost mercifully end the match after many near falls, jumping backwards and twisting off of a ladder to smash his elbow through the heart of Brodie Lee, who was laying across a table in a pool of his own blood, to get the pinfall victory.
Spanky would have his work cut out for him tonight as he faced the very brash, yet very talented "King of Controversy" Teddy Hart w/ Jenna Morasca in what was a battle of Texas Wrestling Academy versus Hart Dungeon. There was no love loss here, as Spanky tried to take Hart out of his element, mostly known for his high flying, with a mat based attack, but what we ended up seeing was about four non-stop minutes of counter after counter, both men having so much pride, Hart at one point mounting Spanky's back and paint brushing the back of his head, screaming "I'M GONNA RAPE YOU, BITCH!" only to have Spanky counter that and eventually turn it into the Skull Fuck (Push Up Facebuster) to really humiliate the vocal third generation star. Hart would manage to take things to the outside and punish Spanky by choking him against the guardrail and tossing him into the ring steps, but would miss a visually impressive Shooting Star Elbowdrop once throwing him back inside due to taking too much time taunting the crowd. Spanky would nail a Sliced Bread #2 (Shiranui), would Hart would kick out, to the amazement of everyone. Hart would go to get his knees up to block a Frog Splash attempt and hit a Hard Destroyer (Double Underhook Front Flip Piledriver), but Spanky would get his feet on the ropes. Hart would put Spanky up on the top turnbuckle facing away from the crowd, then headed up, maybe looking for a Super Backdrop, but Spanky would elbow his way out and grab his head into a 3/4 Facelock, flipping backwards and delivering a Super Sliced Bread #2 to get the hard earned pinfall victory!
Jenna Morasca would tend to her man, who was down. Spanky would attempt to shake Hart's hand as he got up, and Hart looked like he might accept, only to go and kick Spanky right in the groin! Hart would pull him in, screaming wildly, before delivering a sick looking Straight Jacket Piledriver that saw Spanky bounce off the mat violently head first. Hart would leave as the fans threw trash at him and cursed him, but Hart basked in all of the hatred.
Kenny Dykstra & "Magic" Mark Jindrak / Caylee Turner would score one for the good guys, defeating "The American Psycho" Lance Archer & "The Punk Rock Pariah" Shannon Moore in an entertaining sort of spotfest. Jindrak would come out with a sort of male stripper type of gimmick, tearing away his top and pants, Turner rubbing down his abs as a flash of pyro went off on the stage, the only use of that during the night. Jindrak would slap hands with the fans on the way down, some of the male fans not really wanting any part of him, but he proved later in the night his worth in the ring beyond his narcissism, proving to be a very capable entertainer. Dykstra has some great physical tools, and would put them to good use, as Lance Archer showed both a tremendous, hard hitting mean streak and some surprising agility for a near 7 foot tall man, but he could not out wrestle Dykstra on the mat and that frustrated him greatly. Shannon Moore was the smallest man here, but he was certainly a wild card and would get some big pops by delivering some high flying moves at just the right time, including a stunning Springboard Moonsault to the outside which took everyone down. Jindrak has a mean left hand, but his ability to leap and bound really impressed everyone, as he flew out of the ring a couple of times with a big Flying Crossbody over the ropes and a Suicide Dive through them, getting the fans behind him. He would get a near fall on "The Punk Rock Pariah" with a very nice looking Tilt-to-Whirl into a Crucifix Hold which he would drop into a Neckbreaker, but "The American Psycho" would break up that pin attempt with a series of elbows and knee strikes, trying to punish Jindrak thoroughly. Moore would roll out of the ring and Dykstra would attempt to overtake Archer, but Archer would put an end to him in this match, catching a kick coming and trapping him, slamming him hard with a Single Leg Powerbomb. Archer would whip Jindrak and try for a Yakuza Kick, but Jindrak ducked under, running and caught him with a forearm shot... followed by a big clothesline... Archer then stumbled up and ate a Dropkick with huge hang time, but Jindrak wasn't done. Jindrak leaped up and landed right on the top turnbuckle, turning and showing off his amazing balance and agility. Archer would stumble up and Jindrak went flying, nailing a super hard and very impressive Missile Dropkick, which after hooking the leg, would earn Jindrak the pinfall and his team the big win!
Archer was furious after this, but Jindrak would wrap his arm around Turner and lead her out as Kenny quickly followed suit, not wanting to give the gigantic Texan another opportunity to lay into them. After Lenny Leonard signed off, the show came to a close.
