After a two hour long meeting with officials from FOX in Miami-Dade county and Florida International University, NWA South Beach is proud to announce a partnership that will bring the hottest wrestling in the NWA to Television! All episodes of South Beach TV will be taking place from US Century Bank Arena, home of the Florida International University Golden Panther basketball team, in Miami and will be aired on FOX 7 at 7 pm EST on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month starting May 19th.
University President Mark B. Rosenberg was quoted as saying how much this means to not only the university but the community as a whole and that they look forward to showing not only the state of Florida but the entire world that there are more schools in Florida than UF, Miami, USF and Florida State.
NWA South Beach Owner Howard Schilling: I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am to get this deal done. It's been a long road for this fledgling promotion. We've had setbacks and pitfalls along the way. Running internet Pay Per Views every two weeks was great, but I wanted something permanent. I wanted a place to call home. So I came to Miami and looked at the BankUnited Center, and while the facility is phenomenal it wasn't what I was looking for. Sure it had the glitz and glamor that one would expect from a school like the University of Miami, but NWA South Beach has never been about flash and glamor. We are wrestling, plain and simple; and while we may do a lot of talking, we ALWAYS back it up when that bell rings. That's what FIU brought to the table and that is why I am so proud to announce this partnership with FOX 7 and FIU.
