Before the opening pyro can go off inside the US Century Bank Arena to start a brand new episode of South Beach TV, the camera centers on the ring where Kevin Steen and Super Dragon are standing. Steen has a mic and he looks angry.
Steen: Frankie Kazarian, it's been two months; two months since you had a great match with Super Dragon in the Gulf Coast Championship Tournament and then spit in his face after the match instead of shaking his hand. We've approached you in the back repeatedly to figure out what's going on and you've done nothing but ignore us. Tonight, you stop running; and wouldn't you know it I've been medically cleared to wrestle. Low Ki needs a challenger for that South Beach title and either you or I will face him. Get your ass out here right now, accept my challenge, and give us some fucking answers.
Kazarian comes out with a mic.
Kaz: First of all Kevin, I wasn't aware that you had the ability to book matches. Second, I accept your challenge and we'll see who has all the answers tonight. Third, and I'm talking to you Dragon, I'm sorry for what happened at Rising From the Ashes. We had a great match, and while I was happy for you, I was frustrated at myself and wasn't in the mood for plesantries. Nobody likes to lose a match, and I'm no different. See both later tonight.
The opening credits for the show air and your announce team of Howard Schilling and Matt Striker welcome everyone to the longest running bimonthly telecast on television: South Beach TV. Howard says that the NWA World Heavyweight Champion is in the house and we will have a contract signing between him and Bully Ray later tonight, as well as a BIG announcement. We then go down to the ring for our first match
Match Number 1: NWA Ring Warriors Champion Jon Moxley vs. ? (Ring Warriors championship on the line)
Moxley; belt on shoulder, flanked by his fellow members of TOXIC, and carrying a mic, strolls to the ring.
Moxley: Two weeks ago Johnny Gargano found out what happens when you turn your back on the family. Johnny had it all when he was with TOXIC; he was the NWA World Junior Heavyweight champ, and a legitimate threat to unseat Kyle Matthews as World Heavyweight Champ. Then he lost his title to Alex Shelley.....and that's where it all went downhill. You see TOXIC doesn't care if you lose a match, we only care about coming back stronger and deadlier than ever. No remorse, no pity, attacks of conscience will not be accepted. Now Gargano is a phenomenal talent on his own, but TOXIC made him damn near indestructible. Instead of asking for a rematch against Alex; studying him to learn his weaknesses and the best way to exploit them, he chose to walk away to examine his feelings. You see, I realized it was up to me to make a difference; so since I am being disrespected here, I went up to New York and took the Ring Warriors Title for myself....and NOBODY in the NWA can take it away from me. You can call on Chris Dickinson, call on Alex Shelley, Tyler Black, Austin Aries, the list goes on and on. NOBODY will beat me for this title. In fact, I doubt anyone in the back could provide a worthy opponent...I'll even put this title on the line. Come on out!
Nobody comes out. The crowd starts intermittently chanting for Uhaa Nation, Low Ki and even Christopher Daniels. Finally "Cult of Personality" hits and the Second City Saint CM Punk comes out as the crowd EXPLODES!
Punk: You know Jon for someone that talks a lot you rarely say anything of value. I *points to himself* am a little tired of talking. You want to put the belt on the line? Let's go!
Match Number 1: NWA Ring Warriors Champion Jon Moxley vs. CM Punk (Ring Warriors Championship on the line)
The match barely starts with the participants circling each other before heading to break.
*assorted commercials*
Back from break with Moxley and Punk tied up in the corner and Howard says that South Beach fans can now download the South Beach App for their smart phones to find out what happens during commercial breaks.
Striker: So you're telling all of us that South Beach has an app that allows fans to interact with the company?
Howard: *chuckles* No. We're not here to shill social media, we're here to call wrestling. Let's get back to the match.
Striker throws a weird look at Howard as the camera goes back to the ring where Punk and Moxley are putting on an absolute clinic trading holds. Moxley has a headlock but gets pushed off and grabbed from behind by Punk. The two men trade standing switches before Punk tries for a german suplex but Moxley flips out and lands a crisp dropkick to the back of Punk. Moxley now stalks Punk....Hook and Ladder! Moxley rolls him over...one....two.....NO! Moxley brings Punk to his feet looking to set for a One Hitter but Punk blocks and clocks him with a roundhouse kick to the head! Punk hooks the arms and hits Welcome to Chicago! Punk with a cover....one....Two....NO! The crowd starts chanting for Punk, who signals for a Pepsi Twist....Moxley dodges it! Moxley picks Punk up and hits a GTS! MOXLEY HITS PUNK'S MANEUVER! Moxley covers....ONE.....TWO....THREE! Moxley retains his title in a hard fought victory.
Winner (and STILL Ring Warriors Champion): Jon Moxley
Post match Moxley gets in front of the camera and says that TOXIC cannot be stopped.
PAC and Amazing Red are backstage. They say that two weeks ago South Beach Owner Howard Schilling decided to make a statement by siccing the NWA World Tag Team Champs on them. Tonight they make a statement of their own. The Pistols from Hybrid Pro are running their mouths saying that they can beat any team in South Beach, and while they're extremely talented in their own right, they can't match the level of speed and agility that RedEye Flights possess. Bring any combination of Pistols you want, they still can't match a pair of jets.
A vignette for The Great American Bash on July 17th airs before another commercial.
We come back from the commercial with BJ Whitmer and Johnny Gargano talking to people off camera about joining the group that they are forming along with Jack Swagger to combat The Prophecy.
Match Number 2: Flying While Intoxicated ("The Tennessee Cowboy" James Storm and Matt Sydal) vs. The All Stars (Famous B and Willie Mack) vs. NWA World Tag Team Champions Future Shock (Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole)
The announcers remind everyone that this match is non-title. The traditional tag team wrestling rulebook was thrown out the window as all three teams went to war on each other. The All Stars, interlopers from NWA Empire would end up stealing this match by showing off and controlling most of the important action in the match. The ref basically just let this one go until someone tried for a pinfall or submission. Late in the match, with Famous B and James Storm brawling close to the entrance Willie Mack would hit a HUGE Chocolate Thunder Bomb on Matt Sydal but before he could make a cover Kyle O'Reilly would kick him right between the legs and send him out of the ring allowing Adam Cole to cover Sydal for the victory! Future Shock stole one!
Winners: NWA World Tag Team Champions Future Shock.
The crowd boos as Howard plugs a huge announcement after the break.
*assorted commercials for different things*
Back from break and NWA South Beach Owner Howard Schilling is standing in the ring. There is a table and two chairs in the ring along with some cheap disposable carpeting.
Howard: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my name is Howard E. Schilling; and I am the owner of NWA South Beach. As the owner of the hottest territory going int the NWA it is my responsibility to do every thing that I can to put on the best show possible for you all. Therefore, I have reached out to NWA Hybrid Pro's owner Magnus and we have come to an agreement to put on a joint iPPV on June 30th. Live from the USF Sun Dome in Tampa Florida, NWA South Beach and NWA Hybrid Pro are proud to present Beach Brawl. This is going to be a cross branded iPPV with a bunch of interpromotional matches. The main event of which will be a match for the NWA World Heavyweight Title between the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Kyle Matthews from Hybrid Pro, and Bully Ray from NWA South Beach. So right here and right now, we're gonna have a good old fashioned contract signing. First of all, let me introduce the number one contender to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Bully Ray!
Bully Ray, flanked by Devon and NWA South Beach GM JBL come down to the ring to a mixed reaction. The three men get in the ring and shake hands with Howard who warns everyone to be civil.
Howard: Thank you gentlemen. Now to introduce the other half of this match. He is the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion, from NWA Hybrid Pro, The Anti-Christ Kyle Matthews!
Kyle Matthews, surrounded by his Prophecy faction comes down to the ring, the NWA World Heavyweight championship gleaming around his waist. Howard extends his hand to Matthews who just ignores it and sits in the chair opposite Bully Ray and kicks his feet up on the table.
Howard: *looking a bit unnerved by the carelessness of Kyle Matthews* Gentlemen you know why you're here. I have provided each of you with a copy of this contract upon your arrival to the arena earlier today in order to review it. Ladies and gentlemen I have an addendum to make to this match though. Over the last few weeks, fans of both South Beach and Hybrid Pro have seen Kyle Matthews rely on his Prophecy to win his matches. It's always a numbers game with him and I hope that I speak for Magnus when I say that we are all getting just a little sick and tired of it. Therefore, this match scheduled for one fall, will be fought inside the confines of a barbed wire topped STEEL CAGE! This of course is providing that Mr. Matthews can get past the challenge of Chris Dickinson from Ring Warriors on June 16th.
Matthews looks like he's been hit with that steel chair he's so fond of using while Bully Ray looks like Christmas came early. JBL goes over and shakes Howard's hand. Upon seeing this, Matthews snaps back to his senses and starts grinning; which then has everyone in the ring, even the members of the Prophecy looking dumbstruck at him.
Matthews: *laughs softly* So this is how it starts isn't it? *Points at Howard* First you send a 43 year old has been looking to reclaim some glory that he never had after me, now you're trying to stack the deck against me in a match with someone who will never be known for anything more than putting people through tables, and now you're going to stand here and insult me by thinking that a guy masquerading as a "Death Machine" will beat me? Here's the thing though.....what makes you think that anything you're trying to do is actually going to stop me from retaining this NWA World Heavyweight Championship? Since I've won this big belt I've sent a War Machine to the scrapyard, sent a Mexican aristocrat into poverty, cancelled a proto type, and *points at Bully Ray* two weeks ago I beat up your little Unholy Trinity leader so badly that he forgot he had already been World Heavyweight Champion once in his career. Now I'm being placed in a ring where I can inflict more damage to an opponent? I should be thanking you Howard. If I were you though, I'd take a GIGANTIC life insurance policy out on Bully Ray before Beach Brawl; because so help me I'll kill him in that match. Along with my Prophecy, we will sacrifice him to the heavens like we did with BJ Whitmer and Christopher Daniels....and THAT you stupid sons of bitches *turns to the camera and extends his hand like Daniels* is gospel. *Turns back to Howard* June 16th.....that's your birthday isn't it Howard? *Howard nods apprehensively* Do yourself a favor and order Sacrifice on iPPV, because I'm going to give you a nice little present. I'm going give you a sneak peek as to what I am going to do to Bully Ray at Beach Brawl. Happy Birthday mother fucker.
Bully Ray and Devon have seen enough and rush The Prophecy! Howard and JBL both get out of the ring and call for security, but out come Johnny Gargano and BJ Whitmer! Gargano and Whitmer have come out to even the odds against The Prophecy! Gargano and Whitmer help clear the ring of everyone except Matthews, who gets sent into the ropes by Gargano....3D THROUGH THE TABLE! The crowd starts somewhat hesitantly chanting for Bully Ray who picks up the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and smiles at it. Whitmer and Gargano clap for Ray....is this who they were talking about? Ray and Devon notice Gargano and Whitmer applauding and turn to them. Ray says "We never needed your help." before attacking Gargano as Devon rushes Whitmer! Ray hits a Bully Bomb on Gargano and Devon hits a Saving Grace on Whitmer as the crowd boos! What in the hell is going on? Ray and Devon just left their help laying in a heap right next to Kyle Matthews! Bully lays the title across Matthews, who still hasn't moved, and says "see you on the 30th....be prepared for the wrath of Wrestling's Biggest Bully."
*Commercial break*
We come back from the commercial with Damien Sandow and Wade Barrett dressed in suits with a chalkboard. They proceed to give the audience three "Words of the Day": destitute, audacity, perpetuity; and their definitions. They finish the segment by calling themselves Brains with Brawn and they "Are here to educate the NWA, one ignoramous at a time. You're Welcome".
Main Event: Kevin Steen (w/Super Dragon) vs. Frankie Kazarian (Number one contender's match for the NWA South Beach Title)
Before the participants for the match come to the ring NWA South Beach Champion Low Ki comes dow to the ring to join in on commentary and scout his future opponents. This was a great back and forth match as Kaz would take every advantage he could on Steen who at times seemed unsure of what he could do at full speed on his freshly healed knee, but still able to land some of his most devastating moves. There were times when Steen looked to have the match won with a package piledriver or F-Cinq but Kaz would prove to be a warrior and fight back. Kaz would pull out all the stops as well hitting a SICK Flux Capacitor after catching Steen who slipped on the top turnbuckle midway through the contest. Late in the match Kevin would send Kaz into the ropes and land a HUGE scoop powerslam. Steen signaled for a sharpshooter and locks it in as the crowd cheers! Kaz is screaming in pain as he crawls to the ropes. Kaz is scratching and clawing, centimeter by centimeter trying to break the hold. Steen is cranking back on the legs screaming at his foe to tap. Kaz looks like he's about ready to pass out when Bully Ray and Devon walk down the ramp! Super Dragon comes over to head them of at the pass while Steen releases the hold. Steen goes over to the ropes and starts barking at The Dudleys to stay the hell away as the referee tries to hold him back. Kaz looks at Ray and smiles, crawls behind Steen and low blows him, followed up with the Wave of the Future! The crowd boos as Kaz makes the cover.....ONE......TWO.....THREE! KAZ IS THE NEW NUMBER ONE CONTENDER TO LOW KI!
Winner, and NEW number one contender to the NWA South Beach Title: Frankie Kazarian!
The Dudleys lay Appetite for Destruction out and then climb in he ring to lift Kaz high on their shoulders as the crowd pelts him with garbage. The latest episode of South Beach TV ends with Kaz laughing at Low Ki and miming the belt around his waist.
Steen: Frankie Kazarian, it's been two months; two months since you had a great match with Super Dragon in the Gulf Coast Championship Tournament and then spit in his face after the match instead of shaking his hand.
