Winner- Kaori Yoneyama
Masa Horie: I get the feeling this may not be the last time we see these ladies in the ring together.
Akira Hokuto: Kaori showed off her experience advantage. Tomoka will learn some day that what the referee can’t see never happened.
Masa Horie: This is Masa Horie and Akira Hokuto for JoshiPuroPride wishing you a good night. Thank you to all our NWA fans and friends, enjoy the rest of the show.
Camera cuts to outside the arena to "Strongman" Jon Anderson, who is furiously warming up for his NWA Windy City Heavyweight Title match later on the show against the long-time champion "The Only Star" Daniel Puder.
His manager Teddy Long looks-on rubbing his hands together in anticipation on as Anderson is repeatedly tossing some kegs of Guinness (probably NWA Champ Sheamus's supply!) over a 5 foot high wall and then sprinting back to scoop up another keg of the Black Stuff and fling it over the wall.
Long grins and motions the camera closer to him...
Long: Listen-up Playa, my man here Jon Anderson. Strongman - Jon Anderson has been tearing up the competition in Windy City Pro Wrestling - right here... in CHICAGO!!!
(Cheap home-town crowd-pop)
Long: My playa here Jon Anderson has mowed down the best of the best in Windy City and beat Daniel Puder in his little Gauntlet Challenge to earn his title shot tonight!
(Anderson grunts and picks up a Keg and starts overhead-pressing it, pushing out a few reps, grunting and growling after every of Long's sentences.)
Long: Tonight, Daniel Puder. The so called "Only Star" - your going to find out that the real star in Chicago is "STRONGMAN" JOHN ANDERSON!! HOLA-HOLA! The Strongman will toss you like a caber around the ring tonight Daniel playa. You won't make it to a year as Champ playa. The Strongman will be crowned the NEW ... NWA Windy City Champion!
(Anderson slams down the keg of Guinness quite hard, busting the keg and causing the black stuff to spurt and ooze out, the camera focuses on the intense snarl of Anderson before fading out)
Phil Atlas vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
Phil Atlas and Zack Sabre Jr. are wrestling in Group A of the Maximum Light Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Both sit tied for second place after 0-0 records following Day 2 of the tournament last night. In the first night of the, NWA Impact's Kenny Omega defeated Atushi Aoki in the only Group A Match scheduled so far. Atlas has wrestled in Japan over the past couple years under the name Black BUSHI, the dark persona of NWA Thunder's BUSHI. Sabre Jr., meanwhile, has wrestled all over the world and is one of the most talked about prospects in wrestling today.
Zack Sabre Jr. controlled the first part of the match, using his excellent mat wrestling skills. At the five minute mark, he looked to end things with a Tiger Suplex, but Atlas kicked out at two. This seemed to anger Atlas, who charged back, hitting two stiff kicks and a Dropkick. Later, Atlas went for a Superplex, but Sabre pushed him off the turnbuckles. Sabre went for a Flying Splash … Atlas moves out of the way! Atlas makes it to his feet first and waits for Sabre to get up. He goes for a Fireman's Carry, but Sabre slips out and hits the Roaring Elbow! Sabre locks on the Cross Armbreaker on the downed Atlas. Atlas is in the middle of the ring and has to tap, giving Sabre the win and two points at 10:17.
Winner- Phil Atlas
In a private locker room, EVOLVE's Steve Corino, Kevin Steen, Ace Archer are getting ready for their six-man tag match. Mia Yum is seen rubbing Archer's shoulders while he is taping up his wrist. "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair walks in.
Flair: Woo! Now everyone knows the plan right? This is the biggest night for us as we will be showing the whole world why the Old School is the top group in all of the NWA.
Archer: Naitch, don't worry so much. This is going to be easy. Kingston is too fat to keep up with the likes of us. Jigsaw's mask will most likely be on too tight for any blood to flow to that pea sized brain of his.
Steen: And it's practically a handicap match, come on. Isn't that right, Steve?
Corino: I don't know what Cornette is trying to prove with putting my punk of a son into this match, he hasn't even won one single match. He shouldn't even be in this business, he should be at home with his mother, watching cartoons.
Steen: You can say that again, but I am aiming for Kingston. I'm just one point away from getting that title shot against him, and then that belt will be home.
Archer: And that's not all, wait till they see what we have in store for them. Ha, Mia, go a bit lower, I'm still a bit stiff from last night's fun.
Yum: Hush up, Ace, you'll do just fine.
Flair: Ok, well, let's get out there and make for sure that there is no way to stop us. Woo!
The Old School would all leave the locker room together as the scene changes to ringside.
Old School (Steve Corino, Kevin Steen, Ace Archer) w/ Ric Flair and Mia Yum vs. Florida Heavyweight Champion Eddie Kingston, Jigsaw, and Colby Corino
The match started with Kingston and Corino picking up where they left off from Crowning Achievement, going right at each other with a vengeance. Corino would fight dirty though, going for the eyes of Kingston and then hitting a DDT before tagging out to Steen. The Old School would make quick in and out tags, isolating Kingston. But it wouldn't last long as it would be Archer's mistake of playing to the crowd that would let Kingston tag in Jigsaw, who would go right on the attack. Jigsaw would pick up a nearfall after hitting Archer with a Rack Bomb, but Steen would make the save. Jigsaw would then tag out to Colby as Archer would tag out to Steve Corino. Colby and Steve would have a bit of a shouting match, as Steve would berate his son for getting into the ring with him. But it would be a pieface to Colby that set him off, attacking his father with a series of elbow strike followed by a amazing Shining Wizard. Colby would go for the cover on his father, but Flair would distract the ref as Steen and Archer pulled Kingston and Jigsaw from the apron. Out of the blue, Austin Aries would come out of the crowd, pulling Colby off Steve, and hitting him with his trademark Brainbuster. Aries would place Steve over Colby and leave the ring as Mike Kehner would make the count.
Winners- The Old School
After the match, Aries would get back into the ring and stomp away at Colby as Steve would join in on the beat down of his son. On the outside, Steen and Kingston would brawl as Jigsaw took out Archer with a superkick. Jigsaw would get into the ring, only for Steve to hit him with a superkick of his own. Steen would be on the apron pulling Kingston onto it with him as Flair and Mia Yum would set up a table. Steen would end the beatdown by putting Kingston through the table with a brutal looking Package Piledriver. All four men would get in the ring together and raise their arms in victory as Flair and Mia Yum would applaud them.
Triple Threat Match
Yoshitsune def. Mistico and Kenny Omega
This was an international showcase, with three different countries being represented in this one. Yoshitsune got tossed to the outside quickly in this match letting Omega and Mistico to go one on one with Mistico getting a lot of arm drags and dropkicks to send Omega scrambling out of the ring, only for Yoshitsune to make his return to the match with a springboard dropkick to the back of Mistico, Yoshitsune tried to hit a 619 on Mistico but he was able to drop down out of harms way. Mistico and Yoshitsune put on a fast paced exchange until Omega broke it up by throwing heavy hands at both men, trying to take on both high flyers. Mistico got hit with a Hadouken from Omega who over celebrated and ended up getting victory rolled by Yoshitsune for a surprise pinfall
Winner- Yoshitsune
Grudge Match
Paul London vs Randy Orton
These two have a big grudge to settle, as Orton cost London the NWA Midwest Heavyweight Title on last week's edition of NWA Midwest TV, and London cost Orton the belt in his match at the Royal Fumble. The fans were, as expected, split right down the middle, though if I were to pick who was more popular, more fans were cheering Orton than London. However London was the one who controlled a lot of this match, not just with his wide range of high flying moves, but with some very solid matwork to. Orton's fire filled comebacks however were devastating, and he pretty much had London on the ropes anytime he got a run of moves together. London's luck went from bad to worse as he missed the Shooting Star Press, and Orton setup for the RKO. But before he could hit it, Cody Rhodes and R-Truth ran in, and Cody nailed the referee with his title belt. A second referee comes out and calls for the bell. The match has been ruled a no contest, and neither man wins the title match!
Winner- No Contest
Rhodes and R-Truth celebrate, but not for long as Orton nails R-Truth with the RKO! Orton grabs the belt and Rhodes can't leave if he wants his title belt back. London however grabs the belt from Orton, and it seems like he wants to give it back to Rhodes. Rhodes comes over to get the belt, AND LONDON NAILS HIM WITH IT! London goes up top and hits the Shooting Star Press, and Rhodes and R-Truth are laid out. Orton and London pose as they have certainly sent a message to the champion tonight.
WAIT A MINUTE, HERE COMES JOHNNY GARGANO! He's demanding the bell to ring, and the title match is going to happen right now!
NWA Midwest Heavyweight Title Match- Cody Rhodes (c) vs Johnny Gargano
Gargano is begging Rhodes to get up, but he is out cold! Gargano drags him up to his feet. HURTS DONUT! 1-2-3, NEW CHAMPION!
Winner- NEW NWA Midwest Heavyweight Champion, Johnny Gargano
What a steal by Johnny Gargano, he has finally won some major gold, and now The Revolution hold all of NWA Midwest's championships. The rest of The Revolution come out to celebrate with Gargano, and after being screwed out of the belt you would have to think that Rhodes will not only want revenge on Paul London and Randy Orton, but on The Revolution as well!
NWA Windy City Heavyweight Title Match
"The Only Star" Daniel Puder [c] -vs- "Strongman" Jon Anderson w/Teddy Long
Anderson makes his entrance storming out to the ring, shaking the ring-ropes as he enters the ring and really seems to be over with the Chicago crowd, as Teddy Long plays it all up getting the crowd up for it as he follows behind him.
The champion is then announced, Puder saunters arrogantly down towards the ring, throwing down his short-leather jacket at ringside and blatantly swearing and throwing certain hand signals to members of the crowd at ringside.
Puder who still has somewhat of a distain for Windy City Pro Wrestling, and indeed the belt he has held of almost a year now, drags the belt behind him and instead of passing the belt over to the ref, drops it down in the ring for him to pick it up and present the championship to the crowd.
Puder attacks Anderson from behind and the ref gets this one under-way. Puder throws some right hands to the head and back of Anderson but Anderson shakes them off and shoulder charges Puder hard to the ground. Puder bounces right back-up but is picked up by Anderson into a gorilla press-slam but Puder slides his way out with a gouge to the eye - the ref learns in and warns Puder, but the blinded Anderson scoops up the ref and Gorilla Presses him thinking Puder was close.
Obviously feeling the weight difference between the ref-and what he thought was Puder at first- and hearing Teddy Long' s screaming at ringside, Anderson drops the ref back to his feet somewhat safely and avoids the early DQ.
Puder took advantage of the confusion and wore down Anderson for a good 5 minutes, really taking control of the match with some concise, predatory offence, really taking Anderson apart with his MMA influenced attack.
"The Strongman" got his second wind however, and after a series of quick-fire power-moves, including a spinebuster, a fallaway slam and a few stiff lariats, he scooped-up Puder and was looking to put away Puder with his Gorilla-Press Slam when coming from out of the crowd came someone not instantly recogniseable. Wearing civvy clothes, jeans and shirt and baseball cap, the guy clipped Anderson behind the back of the knee to call for the instant DQ by the ref.
The assailant took off his cap and ripped off his shirt, to reveal a rather in-shape and ripped CHRIS MASTERS!! Masters sneaked up behind Anderson and latched on his MASTERPIECE FULL NELSON with Masters it seems just about able to wrap his arms around the thick neck of Jon Anderson.
Daniel Puder grabbed the belt from the ref, tossing it over the top rope, before nodding towards Masters as he remains with the hold on Anderson. Puder exits the ring and picks up his belt and leaves as still the Windy City Champion while several ref's eventually run-out and break up the attack by Chris Masters, who stands over the fallen Jon Anderson. Teddy Long somewhat unwisely gets in Masters face and is punched squarely in the face and tossed out of the ring as Masters smirks and poses, going through several classic bodybuilding & Mr.Universe style poses flexing his pecs and biceps and revealing in the moment.
Winner: "Strongman"" Jon Anderson by DQ
EVOLVE King Of The Hill Championship Best 2 Out of 3 Falls Match
Zander Creed w/ Lou E. Dangerously -c- vs. Shiima Xion
First Fall: Zander Creed by Submission at 6:54 when he made Xion tap out to the Creed Clutch Beta (Reverse Sharpshooter/Ankle Lock combo)
Second Fall: Shiima Xion by DQ at 14:23 when Lou E. Dangerously would pull down the ropes as Xion was whipped into it. Referee Remsberg would see this and make the call to deliver the second fall to Xion, also ejecting Dangerously from the ringside area.
Third Fall: Zander Creed by ref stoppage at 19:23 due to mounted elbow strikes. As Creed would raise his arms in victory, Remsberg would call for EMTs to cart Xion out.
Winner: Still EVOLVE King Of The Hill Champion: Zander Creed (2 falls to 1)
Singles Match
“The Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce w/ C. Edward Vanderpyle def. Richie Steamboat
Steamboat’s Impact wrestling debut was a title match against current Impact TV champion, Mike Elgin. Which Pearce believes was only due to the fact that Richie’s father is a legend. This was match that Pearce demanded so he could beat respect into the young Steamboat. But Pearce was caught off guard as Richie brought the fight to “Scrap Iron”, Steamboat was able to snap off a multiple arm drags that would make his father proud. Pearce used an eye gouge to save himself from being squashed by Steamboat, and continued to press his advantage with an old school style, attacking Steamboat’s knee with extreme aggression. Richie would cry out in agony everytime that Pearce would drive the heel of his boot into the his knee. Steamboat fought with everything he had, using Pearce or the ropes to drag himself to his feet everytime that Adam would put him on the mat. Steamboat wasn’t able to come back from the damage dealt to his knee as Pearce slapped on the stump puller, hyper extending the knee of Steamboat forcing him to submit.
Winner- Adam Pearce
(Christopher Daniels is in the back area. He has Evan Sydal, Abyss and Dolph Ziggler with him)
Daniels: Just two days ago I wrestled to regain my television championship. As many saw, and as you can see now, I came up short. Morgan was the better man that night, but it added fuel to the fire.... The fire to regain the NWA World Championship.
Morgan can talk about his 'Messenger' all he wants. Del Rio can fulfil his destiny to the damn hearts content. Me..... my wants, needs, desires are sitting with one person right now. Sheamus, YOU are standing between me and what should be mine..... what IS mine!
Not long ago, we met in that ring. Somehow the bookers got you and me in the same match, and you were able to slip past me. Granted you beat me, but, had it been any other night, I would have, could have... SHOULD HAVE beaten you so your orange hair matches the mask you will be wearing later tonight.... a bloody crimson red!
Our last encounter, well, lets just say you were lucky.... Tonight, your luck runs out. Carrot Top, it is time to get knocked off, and I am looking for you!
(Daniels leaves as the others look on.)
Evan: Man, I feel for him.
Dolph: Daniels? Why?
Evan: No, Sheamus.. Daniels is pissed, and when he is pissed, people get hurt... Abyss, go with him.
Alberto Del Rio (CPW) v. Takeshi Morishima (ETPro)
Knowing what it's going to take to win, Morishima and Del Rio waste no time 'locking up' or 'feeling each other out'. However, brawling is Shima's prime skill and Del Rio quickly loses control. The monster pounds Del Rio's face like a punching bag as the referee looks for blood. Shima and Del Rio brawl right out of the ring where Del Rio gains the upper hand by biting Morishima! Then Shima backdrops Del Rio into the ring apron and he could have a broken back! Morishima dominates for a while, launching Del Rio head first into every possible object but ADR refuses to bleed. Then, out of nowhere, Del Rio DDT's Shima on the metal ramp! The referee checks... no blood! Then Del Rio slams Shima's head into the metal. No blood. ADR slams Shima's head again. No blood. And again. And again! AND AGAIN! Shima might be out cold but he's not bleeding! Del Rio looks for a weapon and comes back with a chair but the monster's up and he floors ADR with a lariat. Shima sets the chair up and backdrops Del Rio straight through it. Then Shima looks for a weapon and comes back with a sledgehammer! WTF? Del Rio's jaw drops as a ferocious Morishima approaches dragging a sledgehammer along the ground. And Del Rio makes a run for it. Who would blame him? Shima chases Del Rio backstage but Del Rio's vanished! Shima grabs a random crew member asking for Del Rio but the man insists he hasn't seen him... Then WHAM! A HUGE STACK OF EQUIPMENT BOXES FALL ON MORISHIMA! And Del Rio emerges with a smile on his face. The referee checks Morishima for blood... and announces Del Rio as the winner.
Winner- Alberto Del Rio
We are backstage with Sheamus, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion!
Sheamus: Well fella, this is what many would say is my toughest match to date, taking on one of the top ranked challengers for my title in Christopher Daniels. And no doubt, he will be a tough fella to fight, he's a great wrestler, but there's a big difference between him and me. He likes to run with a group of men, while me, I do my business on my own fella! Which reminds me, I just took care of a little business, it seems like some fella was going to try and ruin our match tonight with a little interference, but I soon put a stop to that.
The camera pans away to show Abyss lying beaten on the ground, and Sheamus holding a baseball bat in his hand. I think its obvious what happened.
Sheamus: Now if any of the rest of your gang want to try and get involved fella, they'll be meeting the same fate. This match is about you and me Daniels, one on one, to settle the score and see who the better man really is. And the way I see it, I'm going to be kicking your arse, defending my title and drinking lots of Guinness by the time this night is over. ITS FELLA TIME!
Sheamus leaves and heads for the ring, as we cut back to ringside for our main event.
Main Event, NWA World Heavyweight Title Match
Sheamus "Fella" (c) vs "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels
Going into this match, many people, including perhaps Sheamus himself, would have thought that with the size difference involved, that this would be an easy title defence for "Fella". However, they were very wrong, as Christopher Daniels was not only an equal match for Sheamus, he was able to outwrestle him on the mat. The strategies involved here were very obvious: Sheamus used that massive power and size of his to toss Daniels around, while Daniels looked to ground Sheamus and work over a body part, in this case picking the right arm. This proved to be very effective, as the more Daniels worked on that arm, the more difficult it became for Sheamus to hit those power moves, which in turn tilted the match more and more in the direction of "The Fallen Angel". Daniels would them come very close to winning the title, hitting a BME for a 2.999 and following it up with the Last Rites that also got a 2.999. Daniels then locked in a Crossface, locking the arm in the hold and making Sheamus scream in pain. He somehow made it to the ropes after over a minute in the hold, and now Daniels was beginning to get frustrated. He went for the Angels Wings, but Sheamus powered out. Daniels uses this momentum to run to the top rope and flip over Sheamus, but out of nowhere SHEAMUS NAILS A BROGUE KICK! Sheamus stretches his arms out, yells a battle cry, and shouts "ITS FELLA TIME!" Sheamus nails the Celtic Cross on Daniels. 1-2-3!
Winner- Still NWA World heavyweight Champion, Sheamus
Sheamus struggles to the feet as the fans applaud. Daniels pushed Sheamus hard and came so close to winning the belt, but a Brogue Kick out of nowhere and a Celtic Cross were the difference in the end. Daniels leaves looking frustrated, as Sheamus calls for some Guinness for a beer bash to end the show.
