NWA Hybrid Pro TV Results 06/09/2013
"The Antichrist of Professional Wrestling" Kyle Matthews along with his Prophecy are out to start the show. And as if to set the tone straight away, Paul London is dressed up as the Blue Blazer, as Matthews continues to make some kind of sick point involving the late Owen Hart.
Matthews: "So its true Christopher Daniels, you really are a senile old man. I've insulted you and your so called legacy countless times, I crucified you in front of the entire South Beach fan base and destroyed your once proud faction The Unholy Trinity. Yet its a simple passing reference about a man who died 14 years ago that gets you angry and crosses the line. Maybe you still believe its 1999 Daniels, maybe you still think your a young wrestler with the world at his feet. Well your not Daniels, your a 43 year old man who believes that changing your clothes is enough to gain respect. Its like I said on Sunday Daniels, just because you changed your clothes doesn't mean you've changed on the inside, and you can't turn back the clock and change the past. Let me put it to you in a single sentence that I'm sure you can understand. Time is on my side, and soon your time in the NWA will run out completely!
And speaking of time, now its time to play a little game, lets have a little fun. Low-Ki, this is a message to you and you alone. I understand how you feel, I know that you can't forgive a man who wronged you so much, and I want to make sure that you don't make the biggest mistake of your life. Thats why I'm going to make you an offer that you can't refuse: don't forgive Christopher Daniels, don't give him your blessing and you can face me one more time for this belt in his place at Fall Brawl I mean we all know that you wouldn't stab your best friend in the back just to challenge for a title belt now would you? To me that makes you a far better representative of the NWA as its saviour. Whats it to be Low-Ki, will you do whats right and stand up for the NWA, or will you gift a title shot to a man who would happily betray you and every single one of his friends if it meant he could have gold around his waist. The choice is yours."
This is sick, Matthews is trying to manipulate Low-Ki into refusing to forgive Daniels, even offering him the title shot at Fall Brawl. Low-Ki has been put into a very difficult position, he can forgive Daniels and try to put behind him what he did, or he can refuse and get a title shot, but effectively lose the respect of his peers and the fans in the process. What will Low-Ki do?
Winner Gets A TV Title Shot
Austin Aries vs Samuray Del Sol
A big challenge for Del Sol, stepping up to face one of the best wrestlers on the planet in Austin Aries, but one that he was more than up to. Aries was definitely the better wrestler on the mat, his years of experience showing through, but Del Sol had a lot of high flying skill and was the quicker of the two, so they were very evenly matched. Indeed there were times where Del Sol looked like he would pull out the upset of his career, hitting the Del Sol Driver but Aries got his foot on the ropes. Aries managed to nail the Brainbuster, but Del Sol somehow kicked out, so Aries went up top and hat the 450. That would prove to be enough to put Del Sol down.
Winner- Austin Aries
Post match Aries shook hands with Del Sol and called him "a future megastar", even if he didn't win he came out looking a lot better than he did going in by going toe to toe with a wrestler as experienced as Aries.
We've now got a tag team match as Sami Zayn and Rich Swann team up to take on Adam Pearce and a mystery partner. Pearce makes his way out last with microphone in hand.
Pearce: I bet you boys feel real proud of yourselves don't you, getting one over old Adam Pearce last week. Well you've done nothing more than dig your own graves, because my partner tonight is a man who hates you indy gymnasts just as much as I do. He's a man who much like myself is often overlooked, a tremendous wrestler who can knock you out in a million different ways. My tag team partner is none other than Kassius Ohno!
Ohno makes his way out to join Pearce as the fans boo, Ohno is certainly a skilled partner for Pearce, these two are potentially very dangerous together.
Tag Team Grudge Match
Sami Zayn and Rich Swann vs "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce and Kassius Ohno
A wild matchup, if only for the exchanges between Pearce and Zayn, who flat out hate each other at this point and did not hold back. Indeed they spent a great deal of this matchup brawling away with the referee struggling to seperate them, while Ohno and Swann provided the more wrestling oriented portion of this matchup. Ohno showed his true colours towards the end when he fired away on Swann with some illegal closed fists while the ref tried to seperate Zayn and Pearce. Ohno then smashed Swann with a KO using his loaded elbow pad, busting Swann open in the process, getting the 1-2-3.
Winners- Adam Pearce and Kassius Ohno
Post match Pearce and Zayn continued to brawl wildly as even Ohno and Swann tried to step in and separate the two. This score needs to be settled quickly before somebody gets seriously hurt.
"The Caged Animal" Brian Cage is out, and surprise surprise he has something to say.
Cage: Last week Taven, I won your little gauntlet and kept my winning streak alive, meaning you can get out here and face me man to man right now. I'm done with your little games, if your a real man you'll face me here tonight!
Matt Taven comes down to the ring, but not dressed to wrestle.
Taven: Brian, firstly you didn't run the gauntlet, no you merely beat two men in quick succession. There are still another 4 members of The Pistols for you to face before you can fight me, and your going to have to beat them all if you want to step into the ring with me. But hey, I'll give you a break, you only have to wrestle 1 person tonight, and that man is Tony Nese. Tony, get out here and give this man the asskicking of a lifetime!
Tony Nese makes his way out, and we have a one on one matchup. But Taven still hasn't left or dropped the mic.
Taven: Oh, silly me, it seems I forgot to tell you the stipulation of this matchup. There will be a special guest referee to ensure impartiality is kept, and that man is ME!
Taven rips off his shirt to reveal a referee shirt, and Cage is livid, once again Taven has one upped him.
"The Caged Animal" Brian Cage vs "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese
Special Guest Referee- Matt Taven
If you were expecting Taven to be a man of his word and be impartial, your very wrong, he was about as biased as you could possibly get, slow counting every single Cage pinfall attempt and even pretending to be distracted whenever Cage locked in any submission holds. The worst bit for Cage was that he couldn't do anything about it, if he put his hands on Taven he'd be DQ'ed and his so called streak would be gone, so all he could do was argue with Taven and do his best to completely incapacitate Nese, which was no easy feat considering Nese's obvious talents. Just when it looked like there wasn't a thing Cage could do to win the match, Luke Gallows of Da Baldies ran in and caned Taven over the head with his singapore cane! Cage at this point blatantly low blowed Taven then dropped him with Weapon X. Cage went for the cover and Gallows smacked the knocked out Taven's limp hand on the canvas 3 times to get Cage a 3 count and win him this matchup.
Winner- Brian Cage
So Cage once again manages to win thanks to involvement from Da Baldies, but what exactly was this about? Is Brian Cage in cahoots with Da Baldies, or have they merely been trying to get one over a group they are involved in a fierce rivalry with by evening the odds for Cage? I guess only time will tell.
NWA Hybrid Pro TV Title Match
TJ Perkins vs Bo Dallas
Once again Dallas acted like he was this massive fan favourite, when in reality the fans have not taken to him one bit, booing him almost relentlessly which Dallas took as the fans chanting his name. Dallas is a solid talent, but he really didn't have the same level of talent as Perkins does, Perkins looked great throughout and crisply hat his wide range of flying moves as well as locking in some nice submissions. Despite his best effort, Dallas went down when Perkins locked in his Figure Four Deathlock to make him tap.
Winner- TJ Perkins
Afterwards, TJ Perkins celebrated and left, but Dallas got the mic.
Dallas: I just want to say that even if I didn't win, I appreciate all of your cheers and they almost lead me to glory. Next time I'll win the belt for all of the little Bolievers out there. Don't stop Boleiving and buy my t-shirt at the Hybrid Pro store.
He doesn't have a t-shirt at the store, what the hell? This man really is deluded.
Its time for an 8 man tag team match between The Pistols and Da Baldies. The new member of The Pistols is set to be revealed as they are to be part of this matchup. Matt Taven has a mic with him.
Taven: Bald Crew, you've caused me nothing but trouble since the moment you formed. Your a group that love to act tough just because you have a bunch of weapons and don't play by any rules. Well your not, your just a bunch of middle aged bald guys trying to take our spots, and we aren't going to stand by and let that happen. Thats why when I chose the newest member of The Pistols, I made sure to get someone who's even more crazy than you are, a man who's insanity knows no bounds and can destroy anything or anyone in his path. Please welcome the newest member of The Pistols....SAMI CALLIHAN!
Callihan comes out with weapons in hand as the fans explode, what a choice this one is for The Pistols. They charge for the ring as for the first time, Da Baldies look a bit nervous.
8 Man Tag Team Grudge Match
The Pistols (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Tommaso Ciampa and Sami Callihan) vs Da Baldies (Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Giant Bernard and Antonio Cesaro)
The Pistols immediately took the fight to Da Baldies, with Callihan unleashing hell with the vast array of weapons he brought down with in a trash can, with everything from 2x4's and stop signs to a barbed wire bat and even a big stick with a nail through it, which he tried to drive into Anderson's back. Da Baldies were not going down without a fight however, and we certainly got that here, with practically everyone busted open and the ringside area ended up looking like a car crash by the end of this one. Callihan raised the sickness to a new level when he put Gallows through a glass pan with an Exploder, then locked in the Stretch Muffler while trying to shove glass into the eye of Gallows. Gallows tapped out in a hurry to save himself.
Winners- The Pistols
The brawl continued to escalate post match as Callihan refused to let go of Gallows and the others continued to brawl around ringside. A ton of officials and wrestlers had to run out from the back to break this thing up and clean up the ringside area ahead of the next matchup.
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match
The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) vs 2MB (Heath Slater and Zack Ryder)
2MB managed to win their debut tag team match in Hybrid Pro in a massive upset over the former World Tag champs The Briscoes, but still nobody gave them a chance in hell of winning this. The Young Bucks looked good, hitting their double team moves crisply and generally one upping the 2MB at every opportunity. The problem was, 2MB have this wonderful thing called luck on their side, and it somehow worked in their favour. Firstly, when the Buck went for Early-Onset Alzheimer's on Ryder, he moved and the Buck hat each other, allowing Ryder to get a very near fall on Matt with the Rough Ryder. Then when they went for More Bang For Your Buck on Slater, Slater managed to reverse, causing Nick to accidentally hit Matt with a 450 Splash. Slater dropped Nick with the Smash Hit, and somehow 2MB won the belts!
Winners- NEW NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Champions, 2MB
Street Fight
"The Submission Master Machine" Paul London vs Samoa Joe
There are no rules here as these two finally look to settle their score once and for all. London chose not to wear the fat suit this time, indeed outside of the face paint and some similar gear to Joe he was all business, clearly wanting to take the final win in this series. But Joe wasn't going to let that happen in a hurry, he has been embarrassed by London's mocking of his entire persona and dished out some big fists of fury, not to mention the power moves and kicks we know Joe all too well for. Joe had London all ready for the Muscle Buster, but before he could hit it the music of El Gran Luchadore hits, and once again the masked man danced down to the ringside area. Joe looks confused, as London begins to get up. London attacks Joe from behind as he signals for El Gran Luchadore to get into the ring and help him. Luchadore grabs a chair and prepares to hit Joe, BUT HITS LONDON INSTEAD! Luchadore and Joe exchange thumbs up, this one was pre-planned! Joe locks in the Choke and London has no choice but to tap out.
Winner- Samoa Joe
Joe celebrates in the ring as El Gran Luchadore back up the ramp dancing away. Kyle Matthews runs down and grabs Luchadore, shouting at him and asking what the hell he was doing out there. Before he gets an answer, we cut to backstage where another El Gran Luchadore is shown lying on the ground, his mask ripped and bloodied, with Azrieal under the mask once again. Matthews gets a look of horror on his face as he realises who's under the mask, El Gran Luchadore unmasks to reveal....CHRISTOPHER DANIELS! Matthews tries to run but Daniels grabs him and drops him with a right hand! London tries to help by diving out onto Daniels, but Daniels simply sidesteps and London lands back first on the floor. The rest of The Prophecy finally run out there, but Daniels escapes into the crowd as The Prophecy are powerless to stop him. The show ends with Daniels posing in the crowd as they chant "Next World Champ!"
"The Antichrist of Professional Wrestling" Kyle Matthews along with his Prophecy are out to start the show. And as if to set the tone straight away, Paul London is dressed up as the Blue Blazer, as Matthews continues to make some kind of sick point involving the late Owen Hart.
