Pro-Wrestling TITANS
PRESENTS
"Thursday Night CLASH!"
DATE: September 12th, 2013
LOCATION: Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, Connecticut
COMMENTATORS: Jim Ross & Mike Tenay
The show begins with a recap of the main event of last week, showing Triple H distracting Kane, allowing Orton to attack him. As Kane looked to have him in position for a chokeslam, Orton took the opportunity to kick him between the legs and hit him with a DDT, followed by a Punt Kick to end the match. Afterwards, Orton would proclaim himself to be "the baddest man around," only to get run off by Brock Lesnar, who would end up catching Triple H with the F-5 to end the show.
This leads to "Voices" hitting the speakers, and out comes Orton and Triple H!
Jim Ross does not like this.
"Well, I was hoping Brock Lesnar would have scared Orton out of the company, or maybe would have taken Triple H out completely, but it looks like these two scoundrels lived to fight another day."
"They certainly don't seem to be in a good mood coming out here tonight like they were last week, J.R. I think he at least knocked them down a peg."
Orton would take the microphone.
"Last week, I did what I always do, and I dominated the competition. You see, I am 'The Apex Predator,'; I am the greatest professional wrestler alive, and last week, Hulk Hogan thought he was going to stop me. He thought he could just throw Kane in front of me and I'd cower down, and I'd break, but what he found out was very clear to everyone. When you step in front of Randy Orton, you might as well be jumping in front of a bullet train, because you will be crushed, and you will not survive, and I'll just keep on going. There's nobody who can do anything about that!"
Orton passes off the microphone to Triple H now as the fans boo "The Viper."
"And that is why we have aligned ourselves. You see, I know talent. I've been in this business for a lot of years; I've fought them all, beat them all, damn near killed them all, and there are few who could ever lace my boots. Randy here, though, Randy's of rare stock. He's a rare breed. He's my kind of animal. He has that killer instinct that gets one ahead in this business, and he's not afraid to take the kill shot when it is presented in front of him. There's another man lurking around who thinks he's pretty scary, that he's a pretty big, scary guy, and he thinks he is the top guy in this business. Fact is, last week, he took a nice cheap shot on a couple of guys with their backs turned. The problem is, Brock..."
The fans give a huge cheer here in the Mohegan Sun Arena, and the fans begin to chant many things before mostly settling into a chant of "BROCK'S GONNA KILL YOU!" Triple H just shakes his head and smiles as Orton looks on smug and amused.
"Problem is, Brock, you didn't kill us."
"WELL I WISH HE HAD!" Jim Ross yells out.
"No, Brock, you left me breathing, and you see, as we go on, you're going to realize that was the single biggest mistake in your entire life, even bigger than marrying Marc Mero's sloppy seconds."
Ooooh, the fans react to that one a bit as Orton and Hunter have a laugh.
"Old hags aside, I want to talk about the future. The immediate future. The main event for the evening. You see, Brock, after you cheap shotted me and ran off like the woman you are, before I could even retaliate from heinous, cowardice, sneak attack, I went one place: to Hulk Hogan's office. I said, 'Terry, you're making a match next week. I want Brock Lesnar in that ring!'"
The fans begin to cheer at this prospect.
"Unfortunately, the doctors took one look at x-rays after that surprise F-5, and I simply wasn't cleared. You threw out my, uh, lower lumbar area, between the C5 and the L4, and my ribs are out, so, yeah, it just couldn't happen..."
The fans begin to chant some not so nice things at Hunter here, mostly questioning his manhood.
"But, you see, Randy here is just fine. He's great, as a matter of fact, and he's ready for battle tonight. But, it also seems that Kane has a little bone to pick after he got his ass handed to him last week. So, we were faced with a challenge. Hogan told us to find a partner for this evening, as the main event tonight was going to be a little tag team match. And, Brock, it wasn't very hard to find guys around who A) didn't like you and B) wanted to take the opportunity to give you an ass kicking. But one man stood out above the rest, and now, it is my pleasure to introduce to you all Randy Orton's partner for the evening. The former World Heavyweight champion... ALBERTO... DEL... RIO!"
"Realeza" hits the speakers and out comes ALBERTO DEL RIO!
ADR steps out wearing a suit, and the fans give a mostly negative reaction. ADR steps into the ring and takes the microphone after shaking hands with Orton and Triple H.
"Brock Lesnar, you have paraded yourself for years as the man. And yes, you are big. You are strong. You can wrestle, that is true, but you are not at the caliber for Alberto Del Rio, and you will never be. Tonight, I partner with Randy Orton to teach you a lesson. When I was having my problems with Kyle Matthews not so long ago, it was you who stepped into my business, and you tried to take my championship time and time again. Just like you failed there, tonight, I step into your business, Brock... and tonight, you will fail again. Miserably."
Del Rio and company all smile now as "Realeza" hits the speakers again. We then head backstage.
Backstage, we see TITANS President Vince McMahon and General Manager Hulk Hogan standing with the NWA North American champion, Dolph Ziggler, and looking very pleased.
Vince begins to speak.
"Dolph, I just wanted to say how very pleased we are to have you here in Pro-Wrestling TITANS. I've been a big fan of your work for quite some time, and tonight, I think we've brought in a very good opponent for you to defend your championship."
Ziggler smiles and nods.
"Listen, Vince... Hulk. Tonight, I just wanted to say, 'You're welcome.' I had to really shuffle around my schedule, but I managed to make it here tonight, and I know just by me being here that you all will be posting record ratings and profits. I'm sure you are very glad you called."
Ziggler smirks and nods. Hogan continues.
"Well, brother, that remains to be seen, but if there's one man who knows about ratings... if there's one man who knows about rocking the house, dude, it's 'The Immortal One,' brother! But tonight, man, it's not gonna come easy. No, tonight, you've gotta face a man who's fought some of the best in the world, brother; he's held multiple World Tag Team titles, and he's about as slippery as they come, man. I'm talkin' about Christian, dude!"
Ziggler folds his arms now and has a chuckle.
"Hulk, listen. I'm the 'Show Off.' Put me in there with a broom stick and you're going to have 'must see TV.' Just send someone when I'm ready to go on, and then get ready for the fireworks."
At this, Ziggler walks off. Vince looks very pleased, his eyes practically filled with dollar signs, as Hulk just kind of shakes his head at Ziggler's cavalier attitude.
MATCH ONE
RULES: SINGLES
Curt Hawkins would manage to pick himself up with a victory this week over Derrick Bateman in a very spirited contest. Bateman would come out obviously very lighthearted, not seeming to take the contest very seriously at the onset, but Hawkins looked very confident but focused and brought his A game. Hawkins would weather the attack from the stronger Bateman, who would eventually get fired up and really lay into the Queens, New York, native with some big shots to get some near falls. Hawkins would pull himself together and avoid a Corkscrew Neckbreaker, hitting Bateman with a thrust kick to the midsection as he picked himself up, and then followed it up with the Taste of Pain (Hangman's Facebuster) to get the three count.
Assistant General Manager Booker T is backstage with Eric Young and John Cena.
"Now John, tonight, you haven't been medically cleared to compete after taking that shot to the head last week."
He's referring to Homicide using the brass knuckles to knock Cena out during their tag team match last week. Cena seems frustrated by this, but Young places his hand on Cena's shoulder to try and calm him down.
"Tonight, though, Eric, you got a match with JTG. John, I'm gonna ask you, man, as a friend, I'm gonna ask you not to get involved tonight. I know that the odds are going to be stacked against you, Eric, and I wish there was something I could do, but tonight, I'm gonna ask you, John, to be a professional. No retaliation, no strike backs, nothin' like that. You need to stay back here, you need to rest, and you need to recover. You are a major asset to this company, and to risk further damage would just not be tolerable. And Eric..."
Booker looks at Eric, who looks determined.
"Good luck, man."
We head back to the ring.
MATCH TWO
RULES: TAG TEAM
Eddie Edwards & Jay Bradley would suffer defeat last week at the hands of Brodie Lee & Delirious, but this week they seemed even more determined as they battled Ken Doane & Mark Jindrak. Jindrak was able to pick the win in a big six man last week, and he looked maybe even better this week as he and Doane showed some great chemistry as they took on the two very well rounded stars in Edwards and Bradley. Bradley and Jindrak were the bigger men in this match, and they'd exchange some big hits to try and see who would flinch. In the end, it Bradley who proved to be the hardest hitter in this contest, nearly decapitating Doane with the Boomstick (Lariat) to get the pinfall after short but very competitive contest from two very promising looking tag teams.
The crowd erupts as "Cult of Personality" hits the speakers and out from behind the curtain comes CM Punk! Punk takes in the reaction as these fans here in Uncasville let him hear their approval. The former World Heavyweight champion makes his way into the ring and grabs a microphone.
"For those of you who do not know, I am 'The Best in the World'..."
The fans begin to chant "CM PUNK!"
"These fans are trying to blow the roof off here in Mohegan Sun Arena, and CM Punk is lovin' it!"
Punk nods, and begins again.
"I am 'The Best in the World' CM Punk, and I am here to do what I do best."
Punk begins to pace around the ring as the crowd continues to show their approval.
"You see, I've been down in South Beach for awhile, and I've been fighting this battle and that battle, and I've been biding my time, waiting patiently to rise again, and the time to rise is now. The time to reaffirm myself, the time to re-cement myself as the greatest wrestler alive today is right now, and tonight, I come here looking for competition. Down there, I've been partnering with guys like Jay Lethal, fighting guys like Jon Moxley, fighting over all sorts of things, all kinds of personal vendettas and it's all very dramatic, and it's all very captivating, but none of it has gotten me any closer to getting back what belongs to me, and that is the World Heavyweight championship. Now, I know, I know it is going to be a long road back after all this time. Hell, the guy who took it from me, Alberto Del Rio, he's even here trying to get some face time and get back in the picture, but tonight, I'm not throwing myself into somebody's business yet again... no, tonight, I simply make an open challenge. Maybe there's a young guy back there who thinks they've got my number... maybe there's another guy like me just trying to get one over and start rising back to the top. Either way, their night is going to end all the same.
"They're gonna go to sleep."
Punk lowers his mic, nodding "matter of factly," but it doesn't last long before someone makes their way out. "Brave This Storm" by Trivium hits and out walks SHANE HELMS! "The Hurricane" makes his way to the entrance stage with a microphone in hand as the fans give him a good reaction. Punk seems intrigued.
"Last week, I came out here and I put out the open challenge. This week, it's CM Punk coming out here looking to get back on track and throwing out the gauntlet. Well, tonight, right here in Uncasville..."
The fans take the cheap pop.
"'The Best in the World' takes on the 'Best of All-Time,' and tonight, Punk, you're gonna learn... you don't sleep on 'The Hurricane.'"
Helms drops the microphone and "Brave This Storm" hits again as we head backstage.
Brodie Lee and Delirious are backstage sitting at a table in the cafeteria playing a game of Sorry. Brodie Lee slides his yellow piece on Delirious' green slider, knocking his piece back home.
Brodie is snickering to himself, murmuring under his breath in his maniacal way.
"Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah..."
Delirious is outraged by the move.
"Abadahdosheapmeabdababada!!!"
All of this goes down as Kenny Omega and Steven Richards approach. Both men are dressed in a very preppy sort of manner, with bright polo shirts and plaid shorts. Richards has his hair back in a ponytail, and is wearing glasses.
Omega is frowning, shaking his head.
"Do you feel good, Steven, knowing that the company that employs us also has people like this on their roster? I mean, seriously, just... seriously! Look at these goons! They are worse than those inbred Briscoe Brothers!"
Richards laughs and shakes his head.
"Put them all together and I think we'd have a new Hills Have Eyes sequel on our hands."
Lee and Delirious look up from their game and then shoot upwards, tossing over the table in front of them, sending the board game and it's pieces flying, and then tossing the chairs all around, sending anyone anywhere near their proximity straight out of Dodge. Richards and Omega sort of cower back, but end up running into the the head Talent Director of Pro-Wrestling TITANS, Tommy Dreamer, in the process, who is backed by the head of security, Gene Snitsky. Dreamer has words for Omega and Richards.
"You two probably thought you were pretty clever last week, getting yourselves disqualified against the Briscoes and trying to embarrass them in front of the world."
Omega and Richards share a smile, but that is soon erased.
"Well, tonight, since you two seem in the mood to stir up trouble, how about I make some trouble for you. Tonight, you two are taking on Brodie Lee and Delirious... in a No Holds Barred Texas Tornado Match."
Richards and Omega have a moment where their collective jaws drop. That's when we realize Brodie and Delirious have snuck up behind them.
"BADAHAWOHAHADA!!!!!"
Omega and Richards are very startled, turning to see their opponents for tonight behind them and then quickly darting off as Delirious and Lee both share a laugh. Dreamer and Snitsky just smirk and nod as they walk off, their job here clearly done.
Lee narrows his gaze as Omega and Richards fade from their vision.
"Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah..."
We head back to the ring.
MATCH THREE
RULES: SINGLES
Gail Kim suffered a tough loss to Mickie James last week, but tonight looked to redeem herself against the very talented and very physically gifted Taryn Terrell. These two would go all out, with Gail showing her worldly wrestling knowledge, attacking Terrell's left arm and never really letting up. Once again, the women put on the best match of the night so far, really showing great psychology throughout and pulling out all the stops to put on a show for the crowd. Gail would manage to get the win tonight, catching Terrell in her Flying Dragon (Tilt-to-Whirl Headscissors Armbar) to get the submission win.
All seemed well and good until out from the crowd rushed someone wearing a black hoodie with the hood up. This person attacked Kim from behind and stomped her into the mat before locking on an Octopus Hold, grounding it into a Headscissors Armbar. Gene Snitsky and the rest of security hit the ring and pull this woman off of Gail, revealing it to be AJ LEE!
Jim Ross is very confused.
"WHAT IS THAT JEZEBEL DOIN' HERE! SOMEBODY GET THIS WOMAN SOME XANAX AND A TRANQUILIZER DART!"
"AJ Lee has made a huge impact here, coming out and attacking the former World Women's champion, but what is her motivation?"
Lee flashes a sadistic smile as we head backstage.
Backstage, Assistant General Manager Booker T is seen talking to "Captain Charisma" Christian in a friendly way.
"Yo dawg, it's good to see ya! How you been?"
"Hey, I'm surviving, and once again, I'm looking to have some gold around my waist."
"Yo, I feel dat, I feel dat. Earlier tonight, Vince and Hogan, they were all about Dolph Ziggler, man, but I know... I know you've got what it takes to take that title from him tonight. He ain't been nothin' but a chump lately, and I think it's time for a fresh face to take that gold."
Christian nods with approval.
"I've been wrestling anywhere and everywhere I can to try and put the world of wrestling on notice, and the peeps, Booker, they've been behind me 100% of the way. When I heard Vince McMahon was looking for someone to put the butts in the seats tonight, and he needed a challenger for Dolph Ziggler, I didn't hesitate to make the call. You know we go way back, we're solid bros. I told him... just one more match. Give me that, and I'll prove that 'Captain Charisma's' designer robe is still made of 'championship material.' Tonight, I'm leaving Connecticut about 10 lbs. heavier thanks to that gold strapped around my waist."
Christian pats Booker on the shoulder as he makes his way out of the room, and Booker is smiling, his eyes wide as we head back to the ring.
MATCH FOUR
RULES: SINGLES
Brian Kendrick would be a part of a winning team last week in six man tag action, but tonight he would have to overcome the former World Junior Heavyweight champion, Ricochet, who was also coming in off a win over Kid Kash. Kendrick would find that Ricochet was a very tough customer to try and hold down, which seemed to be the strategy he felt would work most in his favor on this night. Ricochet would show his ability to withstand the pain of whatever holds Kendrick would try to apply and then would find a way back to his feet, where he could do a lot of damage. The strikes and speed of Ricochet are momentous, and he also possesses many hard impact moves that can do a lot of damage. It was one such impact move that spelled the beginning of the end for the former "Spanky" tonight, as Ricochet was able to duck under a clothesline attempt and catch Kendrick with a Backslide Driver. Ricochet would roll over to and under the ropes, standing up on the apron and then hitting a very visually impressive Springboard 450 Splash, and that was enough to keep the Florida resident down for the three count.
"Ricochet comes up with another very impressive win here, J.R. executing a picture perfect 450 splash."
"Shades of the Hardy Boyz there with that high risk style, and it pays with high rewards tonight. You know this kid's got the stuff to go far!"
MATCH FIVE
RULES: SINGLES
Eric Young would find himself in the lion's den tonight, as he entered the ring all alone to take on JTG, who was accompanied by his partner in crime, Homicide. Homicide would be a constant distraction in what was ultimately a short match. Things would end in a Double Count Out as Young would struggle to overcome the obstacles, and finally broke down into fist fighting both JTG and Homicide. This would lead JOHN CENA to make his way out against both doctor's and Assistant GM Booker T's orders, flying into action with a chain wrapped around his hand.
Cena would manage to clock JTG, hitting him right over the head with the chain wrapped fist so hard that he flew into the crowd. Cena would turn and get caught with a chair shot right to his head! The concussion Cena suffered just one week ago may now be compounded, as Cena lays on the floor writhing in pain as Homicide chokes him with the chair. Gene Snitsky and the rest of the security team hit the scene, and once again Homicide is escorted away from the ringside area to a chorus of boos.
MATCH SIX
RULES: NO DISQUALIFICATION TORNADO
Brodie Lee & Delirious would use their unorthodox, psychotic ways to pick up a win last week, while Kenny Omega & Steven Richards opted to use foreign objects to bail out of their match with the Briscoes a week ago. Now, both teams were given the green light to go as crazy as they wanted to go, and this was, as expected, not a pretty sight. While all four men do possess the ability to go on the mat hold for hold, this match was not the time nor the place for that kind of sportsmanship. Lee and Delirious had been insulted earlier, and Omega and Richards were the targets of their deranged wrath. Omega and Richards are both very tough and very savvy, but they are also very smart, and would manage to escape impending doom time and again as Lee and Delirious attacked with reckless abandon. Delirious would make a big miscalculation trying to jump from the top to the outside onto Richards, who was laid out on a table. Delirious would simply crash and burn to his demise, leaving Lee to fend for himself against two very capable opponents. Lee would manage to hold his own for a time, but eventually, the numbers would catch up to him. Omega would end up doing something similar to Lee that he did to Jay Briscoe at the last show, and that's put a trashcan over Lee's head, leaving him defenseless as Richards loaded up and laid into him with a big Steven Kick (Superkick) to take him down for the three count.
After the match, Omega and Richards would stomp Lee as he was trapped in the trashcan, mocking the big but indisposed star as they did so. This would lead to THE BRISCOE BROTHERS running out to the ring, and it was payback time! Jay and Mark Briscoe would come out with big, leather straps and begin whipping their opponents with them, trying to teach them a lesson here and humiliate them, choking them after the flogging with the straps and stomping them into the mat.
Lee and Delirious would make their way up. Delirious would make his way into the ring, looking very confused and angry. Lee would remove himself from the trashcan, and he also looked very bewildered and angry. They would exchange incoherent rambles back and forth.
The Briscoes would kick Omega and Richards under the ring ropes and out to the floor, waving their hands and goading on the fans who are cheering both "BRISCOES!" and "MAN UP!" at the former World Tag Team champions. As they turn mid-celebration, they get a big surprise.
"BAW GAWD! BRODIE LEE AND DELIRIOUS HAVE SNAPPED!"
Lee grabs Jay with a vengeance and takes him down hard with the Sitout Spinning Side Slam! Delirious catches Mark with a big Leaping Clothesline to take him down, and these fans don't know what to think.
"The Briscoes just came in and saved their tails, and this is how they repay them!?"
"Well, J.R., to be fair, the Briscoes came out to settle a score with Omega and Richards. I don't think they really cared about Lee or Delirious."
Mark would stumble up near the ropes, and by then Lee would be back up and barreling his way like a huge eighteen wheeler...
"MASSIVE Discus Clothesline to Mark Briscoe, and he... oh my god, did you see the way his head just bounced off the guard rail?"
"Absolutely bedlam, Mike! This is carnage!"
Lee and Delirious leave the ring, babbling and mumbling to themselves psychotically, and in an odd turn, it is these two psychopaths who leave with their heads held high.
We are backstage where we see Brock Lesnar and Kane preparing for their big tag team match coming up. Not a word is said between them, but they are both looking over to their left.
"It's almost... showtime."
Brock and Kane nod, but without the slightest hint of humor. Tonight is all business for these two behemoths, but who is that they are talking to?
MATCH SEVEN
RULES: SINGLES
Two great champions of the past did battle here, as CM Punk, former World Heavyweight champion, took on the greatest World Junior Heavyweight champion of all-time, Shane Helms in one-on-one action tonight. These two would really put on a great match for the fans, as this was a very aggressive, very hard hitting match where both men were looking to light up the other one, and in turn, try to light the world of wrestling on fire as they strive to regain their former relevance in the championship hunt. Punk has so many tools he can hurt you with, from his striking prowess to his mat wrestling technique to his ability to take to the air, but Helms almost seemed to be his mirror image in some regards, though his strikes seemed less damaging and he wasn't as crisp on the mat, he definitely seemed to hold his own well enough. Near fall after near fall would come after that, with Helms hitting his Shining Wizard and then the Nightmare on Helms Street (Reverse Facelock Elbow Drop) for two counts, only to be answered by a Pepsi Twist (Hammerlock Lariat) and a Shining Wizard from Punk. Punk would look to close the deal with the Go To Sleep (Fireman's Carry into Knee Lift), but Helms would reverse it with a DDT to send a surge of cheers through the arena. In the end, Punk would manage to escape a Vertebreaker (Back to Back Double Underhook Piledriver), hitting a striking rush, followed by a Head and Arm Side Slam right into the Anaconda Vice (Head and Arm Sleeper), and that was it. Helms was forced to tap out, and CM Punk gets the victory.
"What a fantastic back and forth contest. Punk was able to lock on his Arm Triangle Choke he calls the Anaconda Vice after that big slam, and he came out victorious."
"Almost like a reverse LarryLand Dreamer there by Punk, and Helms has to cry uncle."
In a showing of class, Helms and Punk shake hands after the match, and then head back to the back.
MATCH EIGHT
RULES: TAG TEAM
Alberto Del Rio was introduced earlier as the partner of Randy Orton tonight, who would make his way to the ring accompanied by Triple H. Brock Lesnar & Kane would head out, and the two big men had their opponents running early. Del Rio would catch Brock charging in under the ropes with a series of knees and elbows, and from there would try to maintain an advantage. Kane and Orton would brawl on the outside, with Kane getting the better of it early. With the referees back turned, Triple H would attack Kane from behind, but Kane would manage to fire back and send Triple H up and over the guard rail! Randy would catch Kane with a clothesline from behind, doubling him over the guard rail. Orton would then hop the railing and grab Kane, planting him with a Hanging DDT on the floor in the crowd!
"WHAT A HEINOUS MOVE BY 'THE VIPER!' DAMN THAT RANDY ORTON!"
Orton would shake off the cobwebs and help up Triple H before heading back into the ring. Brock has taken control Del Rio after catching him with a Belly to Belly Suplex. Brock is laying into Del Rio with knees and elbows before powering him into the corner with shoulder blocks. In from behind comes Orton, who attacks Brock and hits him with his Chinlock Backbreaker! Randy taunts the fans before turning and pounding his fists on the mat. As Brock gets up, Randy tries for an RKO (Jumping Ace Crusher), but Brock reverses it into a Release German Suplex! Del Rio, though, manages to catch him with a Superkick to stun him, before grabbing his arm and taking him down into a Cross Armbar! Brock is so strong and talented, though, that he is able to get his hands gripped together and then get his feet planted, reversing ADR's finisher with a Powerbomb variation!
"AND LOOK, IT'S KANE! HE'S BACK IN IT!"
Kane re-enters the ring, and he sees Randy stumbling up. Kane attempts to catch Orton with a Chokeslam, but Randy blatantly kicks him between the legs. The referee calls for the bell!
"And there you have it. Orton gets his team disqualified!"
Triple H is rummaging under the ring for something... and it's a SLEDGEHAMMER!
Triple H enters the ring, his suit jacket now off and he looks like he's ready to do some damage. He tells Randy and ADR to grab Brock, and he begins to wind up when suddenly the lights go out...
Total darkness.
The sound of thunder cracks over the speakers, and the lights come back on.
IT'S STING!
"'THE ICON' HAS RETURNED!!!"
Sting has his signature black baseball bat, and he's dealing out damage now. First to Triple H's gut as he tries to swing the hammer, then to Orton's chest, and then to the head of the "The Mexican Aristocrat!" ADR is out of the ring, not wanting any part of this, while Orton has also bolted. In the ring, it's Triple H with Brock, Kane, and Sting! Sting whacks him on the back with the bat, and then picks him up, shoving him over to Kane. Kane lifts him up...
"TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! TRIPLE H CAN BURN IN HELL AFTER GETTING DRIVEN DOWN WITH THE TOMBSTONE!"
Brock, Kane, and Sting all stand in the ring, looking pretty satisfied as Orton and Del Rio back off, looking distraught over Triple H's misfortunes for a second week in a row.
We are backstage, where we see both Dolph and Christian heading to the ring next!
MATCH NINE
NWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE
RULES: SINGLES
Christian makes his way to the ring to resounding cheers as he looks to dethrone the current champion Dolph Ziggler (c). Christian is able to keep the match in his realm early, keeping it slow and methodical as he tries to pick apart "The Show Off." Ziggler manages to speed things up, though, and eventually sends Christian to the outside where he is able to leap out onto him and get the fans really going. These two exchange big time punches and chops on the outside, but Ziggler makes a miscalculation to turn the tides. Ziggler attempts to whip Christian into the ring steps, but Christian is able to reverse, catching Ziggler with a drop toe hold that sends him face first into the mesh! Christian attempts a Frog Splash not far after that, but Ziggler is able to dodge it and then hit a Fame Asser (Leg Drop Bulldog) for a two count. Ziggler looks to be trying for a Zig Zag (Jumping Reverse Bulldog), but Christian slips out and catches him with a kick, followed by an Implant DDT for a two count! Christian is up and signalling for the Spear. He attempts to tackle, but Ziggler manages to side step it. Christian turns and is caught with a dropkick that sends him into the buckles, followed by a big Leaping Avalanche Splash! Ziggler attempts to lock on the Sleeper Hold, but Christian slips out from behind him and hits him with a Falling Reverse DDT! Both men are down and the fans are cheering for them to get up as referee Charles Robinson counts to ten. Both men get up, however, and exchange back and forth right hands. Ziggler comes in with a knee lift to Christian and hits a Jumping DDT, but only gets a two count. Ziggler thinks he has Christian, stumbling over the buckles and taunting the crowd. Ziggler then runs at Christian's back and goes for another Zig Zag, but Christian ducks it and keeps backing up. Ziggler stops dead in his tracks and turns, running, but Christian is running now and catches him with a quick Spear! Christian hooks the leg, thinking he's got it, but NO! Just a two count. Christian calls for the end, and he's looking for the Killswitch (Double Wristlock Inverted Facebuster), but as he's turning it over, Ziggler manages to break free and grab him from behind, nailing him with the Zig Zag! It's all over!
"Ziggler manages to retain, but not without a Hell of a fight!"
Ziggler's theme plays as he parades around in the ring... that is until it is interrupted by "Cult of Personality."
"BAW GAWD! IT'S CM PUNK! IT'S CM PUNK!"
CM Punk makes his way out to the entrance slapping his left hand against the microphone in his right.
"Congratulations, Dolph. Real nice win there. Just a little heads up, though. I had a talk with the guys in charge around here... you know, guys like Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan... and I presented them with an idea. It turns out, they liked it so much, that next week, they are going to take that idea and they are going to make it a reality."
Punk pauses for a moment as Ziggler jaws towards him, asking him what this is all about.
"Earlier tonight I said that I was looking to climb my way back up to the top. I also said that was going to be a long and painful road."
Ziggler motions for CM Punk to "get on with it."
"And that road, Dolph, begins with the North American title."
That sends a roar through the crowd, and Dolph looks a little worried now, shaking his head a bit.
"And Vince and Hulk thought my idea to have you and I face off next week..."
The fans are very, very loud, it's cutting off Punk a bit here.
"... in that very ring, for that championship, sounded like an excellent idea. So Dolph, I hope you've had your fun, because next week, CM Punk puts your championship reign to bed for good!"
Punk drops the microphone as "Cult of Personality" hits again, and these fans are going crazy as the show goes off the air.
