PRESENTS
"Thursday Night CLASH!"
DATE: September 19th, 2013
LOCATION: Webster Bank Arena, Bridgeport, Connecticut
COMMENTATORS: Jim Ross & Mike Tenay
In the opening segment, Sting, Brock Lesnar, and Kane all head to the ring. Sting talks about his relationship with Brock and Kane, and how he sees in them the kind of mystique and spirit he sees himself, two true warriors of the ring who demand respect each and every night. He says that is why he went to his best friend, Hulk Hogan, and personally advocated for them, and why he has taken up arms with them now as Triple H tries to stick his big nose into their business, and tries to aid the misguided and heartless Randy Orton.
Triple H and Randy Orton have clearly heard enough, and they make their way to the entrance ramp. Triple H starts off congratulating Sting on a nice cheap shot last week, it takes a real man to attack another man from behind; Hunter goes on to say that it seems that's the way they like to do business, though, so it should be expected. Hunter then goes on to say that he sees the greatest wrestler of his generation standing beside him in Randy Orton, a man of limitless potential, and a man who deserves proper guidance, guidance from a man of similar ilk, who was also the cream of the crop at the prime of his career. He says that is something none of the wrestlers in the ring ever knew a damn thing about, because they were always busy playing second and third fiddle to much better wrestlers who were much bigger draws.
The name of "The Game," however, will always be "Triple H" and there is no man in the sport who knows how to play it better.
He says the last couple of weeks, it's been advantage underdogs, but tonight, things swing in favor of the favorites. He says that last week, Sting's took some liberties with a baseball bat, and that took himself and Orton out of commission for the evening. This garners quite a few boos and chants, but he doesn't stop there. Hunter goes on to say that tonight, though, Kane is going to pay for that Tombstone Piledriver he laid on him like a coward last week. He says picking on the defenseless seems to be his thing, but this week, it'll be Kane and everyone in that ring who gets taken down to size.
With that, over the top rope and from behind comes THE GIANT! The Giant has entered the ring and he catches Kane with a big kick to the chest that sends him right out of the ring! Brock goes and tries to tackle him, but The Giant deflects him away and then smashes into Sting with a shoulderblock to send him out of the ring! Triple H and Orton are getting a lot of laughs from the entrance. Brock barrels in again, hitting him with a series of body shots and knees, but The Giant loads up and lays him out with the big punch!
Jim Ross proclaims, "'The Beast' is down! Baw Gawd, all Hell has broken loose!"
Kane has scaled the top rope, though, and tries to come off and attack The Giant, but The Giant catches him by the throat...
"Chokeslam from The Giant! These fans here in the Webster Bank Arena can't believe what they are seeing. The power of this man is unbelievable!"
"He is an absolute force of nature! 'The Largest Athlete in the World' has made his presence felt here in Bridgeport!"
MATCH ONE
RULES: TAG TEAM
Alex Colon & Shane Strickland would come out looking confident as they took on Jackson Cole & Trent Darrius, but this match would prove that looks can be deceiving. Colon and Strickland are very good workers, who have a lot of speed, with Colon being more of a high impact striker and Strickland using a more high risk style, but the slower, more methodical old school tag team style of Cole and Darrius would prove to be much more effective tonight. This match would show that no matter how flashy you are a mastering of the fundamentals, along with a solid game plan, can get you farther. Cole and Darrius would finish this match off with a nice combination; Cole would get Strickland up into Powerbomb position, and Darrius would come off the top, driving him to the mat with a fist drop, and that lead to the three count. Good looking win for the throwback team here tonight.
Kenny Omega and Steven Richards are backstage trying to convince Booker T that they shouldn't have to be in the ring with uncivilized, underclass beings like the Briscoes, Brodie Lee, or Delirious. Richards says in all of his years, he has rarely seen men so unbecoming of the sport, and can't believe Booker feels comfortable calling himself the Assistant General Manager in an establishment that would pay such low life scoundrels! Omega then says he thinks this is going to just lead to more low life scum making their way in, turning this entire organization into a dirty, disgusting cess pool, and they just can't stand for it! This is a legitimate sport, not some place for liquored up rednecks, psychopaths, or sex crazed maniacs to get their jollies off!
Booker T takes this all in, and says, "You two suckas talk way too much."
This gets a rise from the crowd.
"If there was a dress code or a standard for who could break into this sport, I wouldn't be here today. You two need to suck it up and fall in line before I give you somethin' to really cry about! Tonight, Kenny, you facin' Jay Briscoe and Delirious, so you better get ready!"
Kenny looks shocked, before saying, "Well, with ideas like that, maybe you shouldn't have broke into this business!"
Booker stops and looks down, his eyes very wide now and his face contorted in anger. Richards and Omega look alarmed. He doesn't even look at them.
"Tell me... you didn't just say that."
Omega looks to Richards for a moment, and then says.
"Listen, I, uh-"
Booker turns now, red hot.
"You better step fore break somethin' off in your ass!"
Kenny and Steven head off, not wanting any part of the Assistant GM at this point. They get down the hall, whispering to each other.
Omega can be heard saying, "Geeze, this place is going to Hell in a hand basket, Steven, I swear to God."
Just then, they bump into John Morrison, Jimmy Rave, and Aksana, the Rockstars of Wrestling and the current World Tag Team champions! The crowd lets out a big cheer!
Morrison and Rave look them up and down and smirk, before Morrison speaks.
"You guys think it's bad now..."
Rave and Morrison share a laugh, before Rave says.
"Boys, we just got here."
Rave and Morrison proceed, bumping shoulders with them as they pass. Aksana follows behind, giving both Omega and Richards tight, uncomfortable looking squeeze to nether regions as she passes, and Omega and Richards both sort of jump at that.
They share a very uncomfortable stare before we head back to the ring.
MATCH TWO
RULES: SINGLES
Biff Busick is already standing in the ring as Ron Killings makes his way out, rapping as he does. The match itself is pretty short, but Killings is able to have a really good match with the very talented youngster from Boston, a man claiming to be "The Manliest Man" who was trained by Sho Funaki and Lance Storm. Busick has a hard hitting style, but Killings is just too high impact and explosive to be kept down for long. Killing would catch him with his Jumping Reverse STO to get the pinfall in a good looking match to get him on the winning track.
JTG and Homicide are backstage, and they just kind of talking and laughing to themselves before Hulk Hogan enters the scene. Hogan says that the last couple of weeks, the advantage has gone to these two "thugs," as he refers to them. He says enough's enough, brother! Next week, Eric Young gets a rematch with JTG, but it's going to be no DQ, and no outside interference, man! Hogan storms off, while JTG and Homicide look a little more concerned now as compared to their jovial nature just moments earlier.
We take a look back at last week, with CM Punk making an open challenge and then defeating Shane Helms. We then look at Dolph Ziggler talking to Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon confidently before defeating Christian in the main event. After that match, Punk would proclaim that he had talked with Hogan and McMahon, and that this week, he would be facing off with Ziggler for the North American title! Mike and JR weigh in.
"CM Punk is a former World Heavyweight champion, Jim, and a very solid competitor, but Ziggler has been the North American champion for quite some time. He has found a way each and every time to retain that title, and one has to wonder who will be able to stop him. Punk looked great last week, but so did Ziggler, and one has to think the advantage always goes to the champion."
"CM Punk has proven time and time again that he's got more fight in him than a Okie saloon on a Saturday night, but this Ziggler kid, he's got a lot of tools to get the job done. The experience factor is going to come into play tonight, I think, Mike, and few men have big match experience to match 'The Straight Edge Superstar.' I think Bridgeport had better be ready for a title change!"
MATCH THREE
RULES: TAG TEAM
AR Fox & Rich Swann would come out trying to get the fans hyped and excited, while BJ Whitmer & Bobby Fish seemed to be all business, and very cut throat this evening. Fox and Swann wouldn't really stand a chance here, as Whitmer and Fish just came out hitting too hard and looking too geared for battle. The match would come to an end when Whitmer got Swann up into Powerbomb position and Fish jumped up, catching him with a Leaping Roundhouse Kick as Whitmer slammed him down! Whitmer would hold Swann down as Fish went and kneed AR Fox back to the outside, and the referee would count to three. Whitmer and Fish look like a force to be reckoned with.
Backstage, Booker T walks up and confronts The Giant, Triple H, and Randy Orton.
"Listen, man, I've known you cats for a long time, and ever since you got here, it's been nothin' but trouble. Giant, man, why would you want to align yourself with two guys like this? You're down in Southwest making good money, makin' a comeback, why are you here, dawg?"
Triple H butts in.
"Listen, Booker, I don't really appreciate you attacking our character like that. We've come here to do business, just like everybody else, and it's not our fault that because we're the best, all of the sudden we've got targets on our backs. Guys like Kane and Lesnar, guys like Sting, they've made careers taking short cuts, taking out the top guys at opportune moments and making themselves look great in the process. They are the guys you should be lecturing, not us!"
The Giant shoves Triple H back for a moment.
"To answer your question, Booker, I'm here because I saw an opportunity and I wasn't afraid to take it. I've only got so much time left in this business, and I need to start making smart moves. It's a smart move for me to be here, and I think I showed out there tonight, I'm still the biggest, baddest man in this sport, and tonight, I'm going to do what I've got to do to keep getting paid."
Orton steps in.
"We are The Pinnacle, Booker, and there is no one in this business who can touch us!"
All three men look very pleased, nodding while Booker just shakes his head and then we head back to the ring.
MATCH FOUR
RULES: SINGLES
Brian Kendrick makes his way out to a solid reaction as he takes on Kid Kash tonight. These two would go hold for hold on the mat for a solid seven minutes of action, giving these fans a very impressive technical showing that nobody really expected, given that they are more accustomed to high flying action from the smaller stars. Kash would end up getting the advantage late in the game with some really hard pound and ground strikes, bloody Kendrick a bit with a series of crossface punches before locking on a Rear Naked Choke to get the win. Kendrick seemed very frustrated with this loss as he left the ring, while Kash never really seemed uncomfortable.
Backstage, AJ Lee is there to talk about why she attacked Gail Kim last week. Lee says that girls like Kim and Mickie James are always getting TV time and title consideration, while she is left to just sit on the sidelines most weeks and never gets any respect. She says when she finally does get a shot, she gets thrown in with ring rust against girls who have been wrestling consistently in Japan and Mexico, and gets made to look bad every time! She says she has had enough, and she's going to do something about it. She says it's time to make an impact, to make a mark that is undeniable, and she's going to do so here and prove she is the best. She says she is going to do so at the so called "divas" of the sports expense!
MATCH FIVE
RULES: TAG TEAM
Kaitlyn & Layla would show some decent skills and put up a good fight, but they just weren't able to overcome Naomi & Tamina Snuka tonight. Naomi would manage to deliver a big Leg Lariat to Layla to keep her down for the three count!
Out to the ring would storm Gail Kim, who would springboard in and take down Naomi with a Dropkick! She would then send the rest of the ladies out of the ring, before taking a microphone.
"Any time you want a fight, AJ, just show your face, cause I'll be ready to break it!"
Gail tosses her microphone down, but before she can go, Mickie James music hits and she is on the entrance with a microphone.
"Gail, you can come out here and bully around these girls, and you can call out AJ, but don't forget that two weeks ago, I pinned your shoulders to the mat for a three count. AJ can talk about how she is being overlooked and wants TV time and title shots, but I think it's clear, and all of these fans know the truth: Mickie James is the top women's wrestler in the NWA, and I'm the one who needs to be getting the title shots! But, just to prove my point, next week, I think all three of us need to have a little match and settle this!"
The fans seem to approve, and Gail yells at her to bring it!
The scene opens in slow motion and black in white, as we see a man in a black hoodie emerging from the curtain at a smaller show with his head down. A voice over can be heard.
"When I first saw him wrestle, I knew I was watching something special and it inspired me."
Another voice can be heard as we see the man make his way into the ring and remove his hood, revealing Chris Dickinson's intense glare.
"He has shown us all the way to be successful. He has shown the world that you don't have to compromise yourself to be successful."
Dickinson can then be seen ripping off his jacket and hopping on the ropes, leaping on the buckles and yelling at the fans.
"He brings an intensity, an authenticity, and it's just a magnet for your eyes. When this guy is performing, you want to be watching, because something special is going to happen."
We then go into clips of him kicking, chopping, suplexing, having slapping wars, locking on submissions, and then multiple quick shots of him hitting the Brain Eater as a final voice over plays as his hand is being raised after defeating World Heavyweight champion Kyle Matthews by pinfall on August 24th.
"He's gritty, he's underground, and he just doesn't give a damn. And sometimes, in this business, that's a combination that's just crazy enough to work."
The scene then fades to black, as crimson words appear on the screen:
"THE URBAN LEGEND" CONTINUES NEXT WEEK
MATCH SIX
RULES: SINGLES
Ricochet looks continue his streak of success this week as he takes on Sonjay Dutt, but it wouldn't come easy tonight. Dutt is world class, and has been wrestling anywhere and everywhere to try and get noticed, and tonight he did his best to take down the former World Junior Heavyweight champion. Ricochet, though, has been just too crisp and fast for anyone to really touch, and tonight, Dutt wouldn't be able to keep him down. Ricochet was able to crotch Dutt on top as he was facing away from him, allowing him to hit a visually spectacular Reverse Frankensteiner from the top rope, sending Dutt down hard on his head and getting Ricochet the three count.
Ricochet would try to celebrate, but his celebration was cut short by "The Hurricane" Shane Helms! Helms would come in hard, plowing Ricochet with a Lariat, before delivering a big time Shining Wizard to knock him out cold! Helms wouldn't even explain his actions, just leaving as these fans showered him with boos.
MATCH SEVEN
RULES: TRIPLE THREAT
Delirious, Jay Briscoe, and Kenny Omega would all come to the ring accompanied by their tag team partners, and once in there, they would put on a pretty good showing for the time that the match took place. Briscoe and Delirious would work together early, but Briscoe would turn on Delirious as soon as he got the chance, obviously salty about the attack he and Brodie Lee laid on him and his brother one week ago. Steven Richards would try to get involved on Omega's behalf, but Lee and Mark Briscoe weren't having it, leading to a lot of distracting brawling on the outside, which lead to an all out brawl by the end. The referee was just unable to keep his eye on all of the action, and missed Richards sliding in a chair to Omega. Omega wouldn't be able to use the chair in time, however, before Lee would slide in and catch him with a big boot, sending the chair into his face! Delirious would try to make the cover, but Jay Briscoe would fly in with a Diving Legdrop to the back of Delirious head, allowing him to pin the man from the Edge of Sanity for the three count.
The Briscoes would stand tall in the ring until their old rivals John Morrison and Jimmy Rave would hit the ring, World Tag Team title belts in hand, and blast them over the head with face plates, sending them down to the mat hard! Their new valet, Aksana would then sashay her way into the ring, stepping on the manhood of both brothers and uttering demeaning words, before the three struck a pose in the ring.
"THESE TWO JACKASSES AND THEIR LITTLE SHE-DEVIL HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN THERE!"
"They are the World Tag Team champions, J.R., so I think they believe they can show up where ever they want."
"Well I'm hopin' they show up on the wrong side of an ass kicking sooner than later!"
MATCH EIGHT
RULES: SINGLES
The Giant would make his way out accompanied by Triple H and Randy Orton, while Kane would enter with Brock Lesnar and Sting by his sides. Kane and The Giant would battle hard, with The Giant having the advantage early, but Kane using his surprising quickness and agility to turn the tides. When it seemed like Kane might get the better of the match, Triple H would get himself involved, leading to a show down on the outside. The Giant would manage to clothesline Kane to the outside, and then head out as well. Brock Lesnar would have Orton down against the guard rail, beating him down with knees and hammer fists before The Giant would run and barrel him over the guard rail with a big shoulderblock! Sting and Triple H would brawl entrance, as Kane got back in the ring and The Giant quickly followed suit. Orton would try to slide into the ring, but the referee would block him off, telling him to get out of the ringside area. As the referee was distracted, Kane would actually send a fireball into the eyes of The Giant! The fans were on their feet for this turn of events!
"'THE DEMON' SENDS A FIREBALL INTO THE EYES OF THE GIANT! TAKE THAT, YOU BASTARD!"
Kane then runs off the ropes as The Giant is bent over, holding his face in pain. Kane grabs him and plants him with a big DDT! Kane covers, and the referee turns and makes the count... and he gets the three!
Kane celebrates, but the action isn't over. He looks over, and sees Sting and Triple H battling back and forth, and Orton is up there now helping "The Game" with the beat down. Lesnar is back up and over the railing, and he and Kane storm up to help Sting! The battle rages on in favor of Sting, Kane, and Brock until The Giant manages to get out there, now fuming mad after having his face burned. The Giant catches Brock with a boot, sending him down, before catching Kane with a clothesline that sends him rolling back down the ramp. Orton and Triple H hold Sting, and The Giant grabs him by the throat. The Giant hoists him up...
"DEAR LORD! HE'S GONNA KILL HIM!"
The Giant proceeds to Chokeslam Sting off the entrance stage, to the floor, through two tables!
"HE HAS BROKEN STING IN HALF! SOMEBODY CALL THE PARAMEDICS! SOMEBODY CALL BRIDGEPORT PD, WE HAVE AN ATTEMPTED MURDER!"
Security hits the scene and breaks things up before any more damage can be done as the medical staff tend to Sting, who looks to be in bad shape here.
MATCH NINE
NWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE
RULES: SINGLES
CM Punk has come to take Dolph Ziggler's (c) North American title, and he seems very focused on doing so. Ziggler looks uncharacteristically focused, as well, not doing all of the antics normally associated with "The Show Off" as he prepares to defend his championship against his toughest opponent to date. Punk is able to deal out a lot of damage early, but Ziggler shows he's done his homework and avoids the bulldog that follows the corner knee lift, catching Punk with a big dropkick, followed by a Fame Asser for a two count. The match seems to be going Punk's way after a hard struggle, battling through the Sleeper and avoiding the Zig Zag (Reverse Bulldog Slam) to keep his bid for the North American title alive. Ziggler would also show his guile, making it to the ropes to escape the Anaconda Vice (Head and Arm Sleeper). Punk would get things back in control, however, after hitting a Double Underhook Backbreaker, thinking he might win the match with the Flying Elbow Drop. This would never come to pass, however, as a masked man in a trench coat would come over the railing and hit the ring apron, smashing Punk over the head with a beer bottle!
Punk would fall off the top and to the floor as the referee calls for the bell.
"WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS THIS!?"
The man enters the ring, ripping off the mask to reveal JAMES STORM! Most of the fans don't know who this is, but they know this isn't good and boo him like crazy anyway. Storm motions for Ziggler to get up like a wild man before blasting him with a Superkick!
Storm then heads down to the time keeper's table and grabs the North American championship belt. He walks over to Punk, who's still on the floor trying to get his wits about him, and hovers over him, placing the title in his face.
"OH, WERE YOU TRYIN' TO GET THIS, PUNK!? SORRY ABOUT YOUR DAMN LUCK!!!"
He then reels back and comes down hard, smashing it into Punk's facing, knocking him out cold! Storm then tosses the belt behind him and flips off all of these fans here in the Webster Bank Arena with a huge grin stretched across his face as the fans throw projectiles his way and the show comes to an end.
