Athena Pro - Nov. 15
Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Hong Kong
Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Hong Kong
Makoto comes down the ramp to a chorus of boos from the crowd. This is her first match since her elbow and shoulder injuries at Summer Sevens at the end of August. She looks a bit cautious as she tests out the ropes. Tiger Dream gets a good pop as she comes out, tossing little stuffed tigers into the crowd. She climbs into the ring, keeping her eye on Makoto. The ref calls for the bell.
Makoto backs away when Tiger Dream throws a spinning back kick. Makoto tries for a double leg takedown but Tiger Dream cartwheels out of the way. Tiger Dream kicks Makoto in the back. Makoto grabs her shoulder, obviously in pain. Tiger Dream catches her with another kick, right to the shoulder. Makoto tries to scramble to the ropes, but Tiger Dream grabs her arm and yanks it. Tiger Dream locks on a cross armbar and Makoto immediately taps out.
Tiger Dream submitted Makoto with a cross armbar
Tiger Dream asks for the mic. Alyson Hau hands it to her.
Tiger Dream - I want to thank you all for supporting me so much in my brief career. But there is one person I want to thank personally. Candy Okutsu has been training me for several months to show me the ins and outs of how to be Tiger Dream. Okutsu Sifu, would you please come out here.
Candy Okutsu comes out, looking a bit confused about what’s going on.
Tiger Dream - Okutsu Sifu, thank you for spending so much time with me training me to be a wrestler and showing me special moves to be Tiger Dream. I have watched every match you wrestled as Tiger Dream and I have watched so many matches of all the Tiger Masks and I have come to a conclusion. You are the only true Tiger Dream and I am far from worthy to even be considered to share the name and wear the mask you wore so proudly. I want to develop my career as myself, not a copy of a legend. (she undoes the mask and pulls it off)
That is why Sasha Christian must give this mask to the woman it rightfully belongs to.
Sasha hands the mask to Candy Okutsu and bows in respect before leaving the ring. The crowd giver her a good ovation.
The Blossoms come out, looking all around for Britani Knight and Security. They climb into the ring and continue looking around. Yuhi and Evie come out, looking confident and focused. Hannah and Yuhi will start the match. The ref calls for the bell.
Hannah is still distracted, giving Yuhi an opening for a running dropkick. Hannah flies into her corner, knocking Holly to the floor. Britani and Security come to ringside. Security hoists Holly onto her shoulder and carries her back up the ramp. Yuhi climbs to the top turnbuckle, springboards off the top rope and lands a moonsault on Hannah. The ref makes the three count.
Yuhi pinned Hannah with a springboard moonsault
TKO beat The Blossom Twins
JPP owner Adam Chen is in the ring as the show returns from a commercial break.
Adam Chen - Good evening everyone. I’m sure you have all heard and seen the devastation from the Philippines. A member of the JPP family has relatives on the hardest hit island, Leyte Island. Syuri asked for time away so she could go there to see if her family was safe and to do what she could do.
Everything she did in the past is just that in the past. She is doing what she can for her family and her JPP family is supporting her. Before she left, I gave her a satellite phone and told her to keep in contact. We have managed to get through to her tonight.
Are you there Syuri?
Syuri - Good evening Chen san. Thank you for giving me this time to be with my family.
Adam Chen - Where are you? How are you and how is your family?
Syuri - I am in Ormoc City, on the west coast of Leyte Island. I am doing fine and praise God, so are all my family. However, the small village where most of them live has almost been completely wiped out. We are now staying at a refugee center set up in the arena here in Ormoc. Every building in the city has been affected with windows blown out and roofs peeled off.
Adam Chen - How are the people surviving?
Syuri - The people here are very resilient. They are used to worst that mother nature delivers. They have survived numerous typhoons and numerous earthquakes. Relief supplies are already flowing in. The airport here opened just yesterday only for emergency and relief efforts. Everything else comes to or leaves by the ferries to Cebu City. The ferry I took from Cebu City was packed with relief supplies and relief workers. Even more than their hard work and toughness, the people here are surviving on their overwhelming faith.
Adam Chen - We have some good news for the relief efforts. Our show on November 29th will be part of a larger show at Hong Kong Coliseum. 100% of all revenues and donations from the show will be given to the Red Cross’ relief efforts. Syuri, if you can get in contact with the right leaders there in Ormoc City, I want you to tell them that as soon as their arena is repaired and ready, JPP would like to come there for a show.
Syuri - Thank you Chen san, Everyone will be so grateful for your support. Thank you everyone!
New Territories Tiara
Rabbit comes bouncing down the ramp, tossing little rabbits out into the crowd. She bounces around the ring. Yoshiko walks down the ramp slowly. She is carrying the tiara high and climbs into the ring. She hands the Tiara to the ref who holds it up for the fans to see then hands it to the timekeeper. The ref calls for the bell.
Rabbit bounces around the ring, circling Yoshiko. Yoshiko is just casually turning her head, watching Rabbit. Yoshiko takes a step forward at the right moment and catches Rabbit with a lariat. Rabbit goes head over heels and crashes on the mat. Yoshiko covers Rabbit and gets the three count.
Yoshiko pinned Rabbit Miu with a lariat to retain the New Territories Tiara
Ramu runs down the ramp and springs over the top rope into the ring. She runs over to Yoshiko and hugs her. Yoshiko looks confused and pushes free from the hug. She grabs the Tiara and hurries up the ramp, looking back at Ramu in confusion. Ramu asks for the ring mic.
Ramu - I’m so glad you enjoyed that great hug Yoshiko. Your reaction is understandable; not everyone knows how to respond to a great hug.
I know all my great fans have been anxiously awaiting today’s Great Truth. Earlier in the show, it was announced that Athena Pro in two weeks will be part of a charity show to raise funds for the people in The Philippines affected by last week’s typhoon. I have found out that three matches have been signed for that show already. The first match signed is a rematch for the NWA World Women’s Title between Kana and Minimal Toyota. Another rematch signed will have my new friend Yoshiko defending her New Territories Tiara against the juvenile hussy, Lolita.
The greatest match of the show will feature your great JPP Openweight Champion Ramu facing the NWA Mexican Women’s Champion Flabby Apache. I will easily defeat Flabby with a move you have never seen in JPP before.
That is a Great Truth
Mary Apache comes down the ramp with her Indian headdress on. She is greeted with heat from the crowd. Kana gets a great pop from the crowd. She climbs into the ring and goes nose to nose with Mary. The ref separates them and sends them to their corners. The ref calls for the bell.
Kana is too focused and aggressive for Mary to get in any sustained offence. After about ten minutes of stiff action, Kana locks Mary in the Kana Lock and gets the submission victory.
Kana submitted Mary Apache with the Kana Lock
