(After clicking on a banner for WWNLive on the EVOLVE website, a media player pops up on the browser and starts running the stream. The EVOLVE logo would be shown on the screen before switching to a wild crowd in the Hara Arena in Trotwood, OH. The camera would run over the crowd before "Born Depressed" by Drill Queen started playing as EVOLVE Owner Remington Steele would walk down to the ring. He would ask for a mic.)
Steele: Ladies and gentlemen, I want to personally welcome you to the return of EVOLVE Pro Wrestling and to the audience watching on WNNLive, this is Rebirth!
(The crowd goes wild as Steele stays in the middle of the ring. He looks around with a smirk on his face before going back to speaking.
Steele: Tonight, in this very ring, we will crown not just the EVOLVE King Of The Hill Champion, but the Grand Champion in an 8 man, one night tournament. But that isn't the biggest part of tonight. Tonight, I have to announce what will be a cornerstone of the new EVOLVE Wrestling. Starting with EVOLVE 5, we will be holding a round robin tournament. It will feature 8 men, 4 from EVOLVE, 4 from outside promotions. The winner of the tournament after all is sad and done will get a huge title shot at an upcoming EVOLVE iPPV. These will be called the EVOLVE Cup, and will happen inbetween each and every iPPV. And I am proud to announce the theme for the first ever EVOLVE Cup tournament, and it will be Junior-Heavyweights.
(The crowd cheers for this as Steele walks around the ring.)
Steele: The winner of the tournament will get a World Junior-Heavyweight Championship match at an EVOLVE iPPV following it. But now that I have announced this new concept to the world, let's start the show.
(Born Depressed starts playing again as Steele leaves the ring. The camera pans over to show Jim Ross and Dave Prazak sitting at the announcer booth at ringside.)
Ross: Hello, everyone, I'm Jim Ross, joined by Dave Prazak. Before we even start tonight, we get huge news from the owner of EVOLVE. And what an announcement.
Prazak: It is a huge move by Mr. Steele with this. Not only will this give some of the rising stars in EVOLVE a chance at NWA World gold, but we will talent from all over the landscape of the NWA coming to EVOLVE.
Ross: And it will make for some intense action in the ring. Speaking of that, it's time for our first match.
Match 1: First Round Match in the EVOLVE Grand Championship Tournament: Austin Aries vs. Karl Anderson[/b]
Highlights: From the moment the bell rang, Aries would try his best to use his quickness to his advantage as Anderson had the advantages in both weight and height. With quick progress from the outset, Aries was able to hit the IED, and then climb the ropes to go for the 450, but Anderson would move out of the way. With this as an opening, Anderson went right after Aries, targetting the vulnerable mid-section caused by the missed 450 Splash. When it was all said and done, Anderson would hit a big Spinebuster, gaining the pinfall victory.
Winner: Karl Anderson by pinfall (Advances to the second round.)
Match 2: First Round Match in the EVOLVE Grand Championship Tournament: Kevin Steen vs. Marco Corleone
Highlights: Even though Steen's history with EVOLVE would more than likely had made him the heel of the match, but as Corleone would make his way to the ring, he would argue with several of the fans along the entrance way. This caused a mixed reaction for Steen's entrance. But as the match started, Corleone would try to use every underhanded tactic he could to get the win, but Steen was ready for each one. One trick would work though, a mulekick from Corleone as he distracted the referee, that would let Corleone get the upperhand for most of the match afterwards. Corleone would go for the Mark Of Excellence, Steen would reverse it and sudden hit the F-Cinq and then lock on a Sharpshooter to force Corleone to tap out.
Winner: Kevin Steen by submission (Advances to the second round)
(In the backstage area, Todd Grisham would stand in front of an EVOLVE banner.)
Grisham: Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time, one half of the Gentlemen's Club, Bobby Roode.
(Bobby Roode would step into the scene, wearing his entrance robe.)
Grisham: Mr. Roode, you are about to step into the ring against.....
(Roode would take the microphone and push Grisham off screen.)
Roode: Get out of the way, little man. Who wants to see you on their screen when the It Factor is here. Now, let's all talk about the elephant in the room, actually it's more like a big dumb ape in the form of Brock Lesnar. Why is it that I go into the first round with the biggest challenge of them all? A man of my caliber shouldn't be wrestling in a tournament for the Grand Championship, it should be handed to me. EVOLVE would be nothing now, like it was before, without me. So, just remember this, tonight will be the night of the Selfish Generation, and the It Factor of Professional Wrestling.
(Roode would drop the mic and walk off screen as it would transition back to the ring.)
Match 3: First Round Match in the EVOLVE Grand Championship Tournament: Brock Lesner vs. Bobby Roode (w/ Austin Aries)[/b]
Highlights: Unlike the opening match, Roode would be joined by his tag partner, Aries. As the bell would ring, Roode would quickly exit the ring and take a lap, trying to get Lesner to come out to start chasing him. Lesner would be unaffected as he would stand in the middle of the ring, doing his trademark bounce as he waited for Roode to be counted out. After a quick huddle with Aries, Roode would get back into the ring at 13 (EVOLVE using the 20 count on the outside). Lesner would go right onto the attack, using his impressive strength to toss around Roode as if he was a rag doll. As Brock would go for the F5 though, Aries would hop up onto the apron to distract both Brock and the referee. This let Roode get in a cheap lowblow followed by the Pay Off for a stunning pinfall victory.
Winner: Bobby Roode by pinfall (Advances to the second round)
(Roode would quickly leave the ring as Lesnar would slowly start to get up. As the referee checks on him, Lesnar would grab this ref and lock in the Kimura lock onto the ref. This brought out two more refs and Dean Milenko to try and pull Lesnar off.)
Ross: By god! What is Lesnar doing? He is gonna break that referee's arm?!?
Prazak: And wouldn't you? That ref made a horrible call, letting Austin Aries distract him and cost Lesnar his shot at the Grand Championship.
Ross: But this isn't the way to handle such a greivence like this.
(Lesnar would push the referee off of him as he glares at Milenko.)
Ross: Damnit, Dean, get out of the ring, you don't want to be in there with this Beast.
Prazak: Maybe Dean thinks he can hang in the ring still, maybe he forgot what his job truly is.
(Lesnar would look like he was going to get out of the ring before turning right around and scooping Milenko up onto his shoulders.)
Ross: Don't do it, don't do it, Brock.
Prazak: And why not? This is what happens when you are cheated out of any title shot. And it is also what happens when you piss off the genetic freak that is Brock Lesnar.
(The referees try to talk Lesnar down, but it was to no avail. Lesnar would F5 Milenko to a surprising cheer of the fans. Security would soon storm the ring and pull Lesnar out of it as a "Holy Shit" chant was started.)
Ross: Get that man out of this building now, come on.
Prazak: What are you talking about, Jim? This is what the fans want. They want this man to destroy everything.
Ross: Dean Milenko is no longer an active wrestler. Do you think it's right for Lesnar to attack EVOLVE's staff, which includes you?
Prazak: Well, I wouldn't try and make that big man upset. It's common sense. Don't poke the bears, don't taunt the sharks, and don't piss off Brock Lesnar.
(Lesnar would be escorted out of the arena in cuffs as EMT would come in and check on Milenko and the referee. The ring would be cleared quickly too.)
Match 4: First Round Match of The EVOLVE Grand Championship Tournament: Jeff Hardy vs. Antonio Cesaro[/b]
Highlights: This match was a huge clash of styles with Hardy's high flying style going up against Cesaro's ground-based, catch-as-catch-can style, and it made for a great back and forth match. Cesaro would work over the left leg of Hardy, trying to keep him grounded and away from using any form of top rope assault. The tide would turn when Cesaro would go for the Swiss Death pop-up European Upperct, only for Hardy to reverse it into a dropkick. Using that to start his momentum, Hardy would stage a huge comeback that would end with a Twist Of Fate followed by a Swanton for the pinfall victory.
Winner: Jeff Hardy by pinfall (Advances to the Second Round)
(In the backstage area, Todd Grisham is seen with Eddie Edwards and Tyson Kidd, the tag team known as #Workhorse.)
Grisham: Ladies and gentlemen, I am here with a tag team making their debut together for the first time, Eddie Edwards and Tyson Kidd. Tonight, you two take on one of the best tag teams in the world in the form of the Murder City Machine Guns, any thoughts?
Edwards: Well, I'm excited about this. Once I heard that Tyson Kidd was gonna be in EVOLVE, I quickly got in touch with him.
Kidd: Yea, and when he called, I was actually thinking of a tag partner for this. And it just so happened Eddie was on the top of my list. We both have the same work ethic.
Edwards: So we told the guys in the office that we are forming a tag team together, and when it was announced, the fans went crazy.
Kidd: But to get a match with a team of this caliber on our first outing is a big chance for us. So, Shelley, Sabin, get ready. We are coming.
Edwards: Time to show the world what workhorses can really do.
(Edwards and Kidd walk off screen as Grisham looks to the camera.)
Grisham: Back to you guys at ringside.
Match 5: Murder City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley/Chris Sabin) vs. #Workhorse (Eddie Edwards/Tyson Kidd)[/b]
Highlights: Sabin and Kidd would start the match, and it would be a clinic at the start. Each man would reverse each other at every turn, causing a stalemate at the start of the match. Both men would tag out as Shelley and Edwards would enter the ring. There wasn't really a stalemate here as Edwards would get the clear advantage against Shelley. Edwards would isolate Shelley, and work quick tags with Kidd to keep him down. During one of the tag outs to Kidd, Shelley would hit the Sliced Bread #2 out of nowhere. Getting the hot tag, Sabin would get in and work over both members of #Workhorse, until Shelley was about to get back into the ring. The match would end with the Machine Guns hitting Skull And Bones on Kidd for the pinfall.
Winners: Murder City Machine Guns
Match 5: Second Round Match in the EVOLVE Grand Championship Tournament: Bobby Roode vs. Kevin Steen[/b]
Highlights: Austin Aries would once again try to come out to ringside for Bobby Roode, but EVOLVE Owner Remington Steele came out and announced that Aries and anyone else would be barred from ringside for the rest of the tournament matches, due to what happened during the Roode/Lesner match. Roode would be irrate at this call, which would let Steen go for a quick roll up for a 2 count. Steen kept up the attack, working over the back and neck of Roode. Roode would finally get to the outside of the ring for a breather, only for Steen to follow. While attempting a powerbomb onto the apron, Roode would reverse it, turn so to backdrop Steen against the gaurdrail. Roode gets Steen back in the ring and works him over, ending the match with the Payoff for the three count.
Winner: Bobby Roode by Pinfall (Advances to the Finals)
(In the backstage area, Todd Gresham stands with Jamin Olivercia)
Gresham: Ladies and gentlemen, I am here with Jamin Olivercia. Jamin, tonight, you get a chance to take a big lead in the rankings with this four-way dance. Any thoughts on this?
(Olivercia would go to say something, but Matt Hardy would come in the scene.)
Hardy: Now, what is this? Instead of interview The Icon that's here, you want to interview this kid. Let me tell you one thing, Jamin. Tonight is gonna be the rise of Matt Hardy in EVOLVE, so when the match starts, just save yourself the embaressment and lay down.
Olivercia: Lay down? Lay down!? You think I would lay down for you. I am here to show the world why I am one of the best, and you want me to lay down?!? I don't lay down, I put down. So when the match starts, run, cause I'm gunning for you. Oh and as a little reminder...
(Olivercia reaches out and just smacks Hardy across the face.)
Olivercia: See you in the ring.
(Hardy would look at the camera angerily as Olivercia walked out of the scene.)
Match 6: Fourway Dance for 3 points: D'Angelo Deniro vs. Matt Hardy vs. Arik Cannon vs. Jamin Olivercia[/b]
First Elimination: Arik Cannon eliminated D'Angelo Deniro by pinfall after hitting the Glimmering Warlock.
Second Elimination: Jamin Olivercia eliminated Arik Cannon after Matt Hardy hit Cannon with the Twist Of Fate, only for Olivercia to toss him out of the ring and steal the pin.
Final Elimination: Matt Hardy eliminated Jamin Olivercia by pinfall after distracting the ref, hitting a low blow, and then a Twist of Fate.
Winner: Matt Hardy (Hardy gains 3 points.)
(Matt Hardy would celebrate the victory over the fallen Jamin Olivercia.)
Ross: Hardy stole that victory. Of all the years of watching this man wrestle, I never thought once that he would stoop so low.
Prazak: What do you mean stooped low? He did what he had to win this match.
Ross: And you think his brother would be happy with this?
Prazak: Who cares, he has three points, he's the top guy until the champ is crowned tonight.
Ross: I guess you are right, but it's still wrong. And as the ring clears, we move on to the next match of the night, Jeff Hardy vs. Karl Anderson.
Match 7: Second Round Match in the EVOLVE Grand Championship Tournament: Jeff Hardy vs. Karl Anderson[/b]
Highlights: Jeff would come out, still confused at the actions of his brother, but ready for the task at hand. Anderson come out with an intensity, as if he was fighting for a purpose. As soon as the bell rung, Anderson was all over Hardy, keeping him grounded. Anderson would work over the legs, locking in a half crab to continue the attack on the legs of Hardy's. Hardy did manage a bit of a comeback, hitting the Whisper on the Wind when he was slung into the corner. But that comeback would come to a screeching halt as Anderson would hit a huge Running Big Boot for the pinfall victory.
Winner: Karl Anderson by pinfall (Advances to the finals)
Match 8: Second Chance Battle Royal for the EVOLVE King Of The Hill Championship featuring: Antonio Cesaro, Austin Aries, Marco Corleone, Jeff Hardy, Kevin Steen, D'Angelo Dinero, Arik Cannon, Jamin Olivencia, Eddie Edwards, Tyson Kidd[/b]
Order Of Elimination:
1. Jamin Olivencia eliminated by Arik Cannon
2. Eddie Edwards eliminated by Marco Corleone
3. Arik Cannon eliminated by Kevin Steen
4. Tyson Kidd eliminated by Marco Corleone
5. Kevin Steen eliminated by Antonio Cesaro
6. Jeff Hardy eliminated by Austin Aries
7. Antonio Cesaro eliminated by Austin Aries and D'Angelo Dinero
8. Austin Aries eliminated by D'Angelo Dinero
9. D'Angelo Dinero eliminated by Marco Corleone
Winner: and NEW EVOLVE KING OF THE HILL CHAMIPION, Marco Corleone
(Todd Gresham is standing backstage, in front of an EVOLVE banner.)
Gresham: Ladies and gentlemen, we are just moments away from crowning the first EVOLVE Grand Champion. The finals has been set, and my guest at this time is one of the men in that match. Taking on Bobby Roode, I am joined by "The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson.
(Anderson steps into the scene by Gresham)
Gresham: Anderson, you have went through two other men tonight to get here. You defeated Austin Aries and Jeff Hardy to get here. Both of them are more ariel wrestlers. But now you step in the ring with Bobby Roode, a mat wrestler just like you. Are you changing up your game plan at all?
Anderson: Todd, I am here to do one thing. I've been wrestling for years and I have been called one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world. So tonight just marks my first steps towards getting to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. To achieve that, I must win the EVOLVE Grand Championship. Standing between me is a man that has been lucky or underhanded. A man that calls himself the It Factor of professional wrestling? I must ask, what factor is that? Is it your ability to use your tag team partner to help you win? You can't do that now. Is it because you will take whatever chance you get to win? Yes, but with me, you won't get far. Tonight, Bobby Roode, the only factor you have to think about is that you are just 3 seconds away from being a foot note in the rise of Karl Anderson.
(Anderson walks out of the scene after giving the camera an intense stare.)
Gresham: It's now time for the main event, let's go to ringside.
MAIN EVENT: Finals of the EVOLVE Grand Championship Tournament: Karl Anderson vs. Bobby Roode[/b]
Highlights: Before the introductions could even take place, Roode would try to go for a lariat, but Anderson ducked under it and hit one of his own as the bell was rung. Anderson stayed on the attack with brutal german suplex for a 2 count. Roode would fight back, hitting a lariat, followed by a powerslam for a 2 count. Anderson would hit the same running big boot that took out Jeff Hardy, but only get a 2 count here. Roode would hit the Pay-Off for a 2 count that would get the crowd going wild. The finish finally came when Anderson hit the Gun Stun for the win.
Winner: And NEW EVOLVE Grand Champion, Karl Anderson by pinfall.
(The referee would hand Anderson the EVOLVE Grand Championship belt as he would celebrate his victory.)
Ross: Anderson has down it. He's won the EVOLVE Grand Championship, and he did it in a big way.
Prazak: I say it was luck. Bobby Roode was so close to winning the championship himself.
(The crowd would go crazy, but it would be because Brock Lesner was making his way through the crowd. He jumped into the ring.)
Ross: Dear lord, Lesner has somehow gotten back into the arena. Some one call the cops.
(Lesner would go right after Anderson and hit the F5, before locking in the Kimera.)
Ross: The Beast Incarnate is loose in EVOLVE, and no one is safe.
(Lesner would pick up the EVOLVE Grand Championship belt and just shakes his head, dropping it on Anderson's prone body.)
Prazak: Lesner sending a message tonight. I think Anderson and all of EVOLVE better be listening.
Ross: But at what cost? What will be the status of the Grand Champion? We can't tell you now, but stay tune to EVOLVEWrestling.com and WWNLive.tv for all the latest on EVOLVE Wrestling.
(The screen zomes in on Karl Anderson, being attended to by the EMTs as it fades to black.)
