JUNE 28, 2014
The show opens with the sounds of "Man in the Box" by Alice in Chains, and out comes the General Manager of Overdrive, Tommy Dreamer! Dreamer says tonight there is going to be a lot taking place in order to set up next week's internet Pay-Per-View debut for the company, "Summer Reign"!
He says tonight, four teams will begin a tournament to crown the first ever Tag Team champions of this company. He says that's not all, though, as the World Women's champion will be tag team action for the first time here in Overdrive, taking on the a team lead by her opponent for "Summer Reign", "The Dark Angel" Sarah Stock in what should be an exciting preview of what's to come at the big show next month!
Finally, after weeks of cruel acts and retaliation, Delirious and Jimmy Jacobs will be facing off again... but this time as the very first challengers to Kid Kash's X Division championship in his first title defense! Ladies and gentlemen, without further delay, "let's get extreme!"
SINGLES MATCH
Allysin Kay vs. Mercedes Martinez
Allysin Kay vs. Mercedes Martinez
Kay's nickname is "The AK47" and it was easy to see that she packs a lot of kick and power into her matches, having an explosive contest with the very tough Martinez here tonight. This was a short and brutal brawl of a match, with no prisoners being taken as these two looked to put themselves in the World title hunt. Martinez would manage to kick out of Kay's Cut-Throat finishing suplex, causing Kay to try to go back and try it again, but after a reversal and a big Lariat, Martinez would deliver a very hard Spinning Fisherman's Buster to lay her out and get the hard fought three count.

TAG TEAM MATCH
Roderick Strong & Biff Busick vs. Raymond Rowe & Hanson
TAG TEAM MATCH
Roderick Strong & Biff Busick vs. Raymond Rowe & Hanson
Roderick Strong makes his debut here alongside a man who has impressed on the last two shows with his hard hitting, fast paced style in Biff Busick against two men who are also debuting here tonight, Rowe and Hanson, who go by the name of "The Warhammer" when in tandem. Hanson is a big guy, but Strong and Busick would do a good job of isolating him and wearing him down, making him nearly a non-factor by the end of this. Rowe was super impressive and nearly had the match locked after a flurry of offense, hitting his Death Rowe finisher on Busick, but Strong would deliver a devastating knee lift to his face, followed by a Strong Breaker to put him down for the three before Hanson could roll in and break up the count. Busick and Strong advance in the tournament and look good doing it!
TAG TEAM MATCH
AJ Lee & Jessicka Havok vs. Sarah Stock & Portia Perez
AJ Lee & Jessicka Havok vs. Sarah Stock & Portia Perez
AJ Lee would get a mostly positive reaction coming out, mostly because the fans were just excited to see her and not because they actually like her. That sentiment wore off quickly, as her and Havok went to work on the much more likable Canadian duo of Stock and Perez. Havok is a real beast of a woman, and she lead the charge early and right to the outside, going after Stock like there was a bounty on her head and she was clearly out to maim. Perez and Lee would have some really inspired back and forth sequences on the inside as Havok and Stock battled on the outside, with Perez actually picking up a couple of near falls in the early going to the surprise of the World Women's champion.
Lee would try to retreat, but this only caused more chaos and brawling, leading to Stock and Lee taking to the ring and sending these fans to the edge of their seats. Lee would try to keep down "The Dark Angel", but Stock is as quick witted and agile as they come, with a wrestling background to rival any woman or man working today, and she showed why she overcame such amazing talent in tournament to earn this spot. In the end, though, Havok would make her way into the ring with a chair and blast Stock several times before hitting her with a Demon Drop right on the chair, smashing her head and knocking her out cold as the referee called for the bell, ending the match!
Perez would make her way in and try to battle Havok and Lee, but she too would fall short and would actually get caught in AJ Lee's Black Widow for her troubles! Security and officials would hit the ring to break things up, and Lee would celebrate with her championship, skipping back up the ramp as Havok looked back on the carnage she created, smiling a wide, satisfied grin.

TAG TEAM MATCH
Amazing Red & TJ Perkins vs. Bobby Fish & Anthony Nese
TAG TEAM MATCH
Amazing Red & TJ Perkins vs. Bobby Fish & Anthony Nese
"SPEED KILLS" is the name that Red and Perkins like to go by, and tonight they used every speedy trick in their collective books to try and overcome the devastating striking prowess and high impact assault of Fish and Nese. Fish and Nese just seemed ruthless and relentless, and despite taking some near falls early and clearly taking a good bit of damage, they never really seemed out of control in this contest. After taking out Red on the outside, Fish would head back in and catch Perkins with a spin kick to the midsection as he was looking for a Detonation Kick on Nese. Nese would fall behind him, grabbing him into position and Fish would Roundhouse Kick Perkins straight to the face, sending him over into a Bridging German Suplex from Nese that would seal the deal, ending the match and making our tournament final Fish & Nese versus Busick & Strong! That promises to be a brutal affair!
Out to the ring comes Brian Cage & Caleb Konley, but tonight they are accompanied by the beautiful Christy Hemme, who gets the fans riled up for the men who hope to solidify their claims to the North American Tag Team titles at the "Great American Bash" next month and, on the last show, picked up a pinfall (albeit tainted) victory over the Briscoe Brothers!
Christy takes the microphone and says her men proved last week that there is nothing that can stop them, no team strong enough to overcome them, and at the "Great American Bash" it will be little more than a formality that they receive what is rightfully there's, the North American Tag Team championships!
This leads none other than Al Snow to make his way out to the ramp! The Commissioner of Overdrive says that while he was impressed with what he saw at the last show, he says he felt like it was a little tainted, and that's just not fair to anybody, let alone the uncrowned Tag Team champions of North America... that's why tonight, he's booking a rematch!
"Wait, wait, wait..."
And out walks Tommy Dreamer, General Manager of Overdrive, to a perplexed looking Al Snow. Dreamer says that he hates to step on Snow's toes, but he feels that while a rematch would be great, he knows something that would make it even greater. Snow looks intrigued.
"Do tell, my good man."
"Let's make it a STREET FIGHT!"
The fans chant for Dreamer, and out from the crowd come 'DEM BOYS, and they are looking to settle the score from the last show right here, right now! Forget the entrances, they're here to fight!

TAG TEAM STREET FIGHT
Brian Cage & Caleb Konley w/ Christy Hemme vs. Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe
The crowd is electric for this, and while it's not long, it sure was violent. The Briscoes would hold control of pretty much the entire match, causing Christy to scream and shout and try to get involved a number of times, unsuccessfully. The highlight of the match had to be Mark Briscoe smacking Konley with a chair to set him up on a table, then hitting his Froggy Elbow from the top turnbuckle through the table, smashing him and effectively taking him out of the match! Cage would show his power and determination, surviving shot after shot from the relentless brothers and refusing to quit. The Briscoes would find a way, though, and it wasn't good for Cage. Jay would pick up Cage onto his shoulders to start, and Mark would come off the top and smash him with a chair over the head, sending him down hard! From there, Jay would pick him back up and Mark would head back up top, following up by hitting a Spike J-Driller onto the chair! From there, Jay would pin Cage as Hemme looked on concerned and horrified, and he would get the three.
Jay would grab a microphone afterwards as the paramedics hit the ring, obviously concerned for the health of Cage after taking such brutal blows to the head and neck. Jay would go on to say that at the last show Lena Yada, "the Rockstar's little bitch," stuck her nose in where it didn't belong and took something from them... she took away their win, took away their debut here in Overdrive, and it's been a long time comin', but the Briscoe's are about to take away those World Tag straps from the Backstreet Boys and finally return them where they belong, with 'Dem Boys right here! "They never done it before, but it's gonna be about damn time, cause Rockstars, ya'll boys gonna have MAN UP come G.A.B.!" The fans chant for the Briscoes as their theme music hits and they head back to the back.

#1 CONTENDERSHIP TO THE NWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE
SINGLES MATCH
Chris Dickinson vs. BJ Whitmer
SINGLES MATCH
Chris Dickinson vs. BJ Whitmer
These two men have had numerous battles and a long standing feud, and all of that came back to the surface on the last show when "The Original Death Machine" made his debut with the company, interrupting Whitmer's Overdrive Heavyweight championship match by assaulting him with a Singapore cain. "The Buzzsaw" looked as focused as ever tonight and he really let Dickinson have it early, dismantling "Big Dirty" all around ringside and into the crowd, straining the 20 count the referee has to the point where it became irrelevant. Whitmer would send Dickinson back into the ring, where he knew he had to finish him, and would hit a Dragon Suplex, bridging it and looking for the win, but he only got a two count.
Dickinson would manage to escape an Exploder Suplex attempt from Whitmer, finally mounting some offense and turning things around. Dickinson would ground and pound Whitmer, mocking him as he did so and he seemed just as driven to break the Kentucky native mentally as he did physically, throwing in barb after barb, escalating just how personal this vendetta really is. Whitmer and Dickinson would turn this into a back and forth slug fest, trading blow after blow in the center of the ring, waiting for the other man to drop. Dickinson would attempt a Spinning Back Chop to try and finish the exchange, but Whitmer would duck it, looking for a Regal Plex, but Dickinson would break free and spin out, catching Whitmer from behind and driving him with a Backdrop Driver. From there, Dickinson lifts up Whitmer and twists his left arm and pulls the right one back, hoisting him up and drilling him with the Braineater! From there, it's academic, as nobody kicks out of the Braineater.
Dickinson gets the win and will be facing Harry Smith at "Summer Reign," but wait a second...
Into the ring comes a man dressed in street clothes who looks to be of Asain descent. He runs in and catches Dickinson with a Running Single High Knee, smashing him to the face as he has his hands raised and is unable to protect himself! The man gets up and sees Whitmer stirring, so he shoves the referee out of the way and grabs Whitmer, hoisting him up... GO 2 SLEEP!!!
From there, Rene Dupree slides into the ring, dressed very well, wearing golden aviator sunglasses and holding his Overdrive Heavyweight championship over his shoulder. Dupree takes the microphone as Dickinson and Whitmer writhe in pain on the mat.
"You two... you're arrogant. I'm the champion, I'm the top draw around here, and I deserve respect. You see, Dickinson... you come in last show, and you ruin what was my masterpiece, my match, coming in, assaulting my opponent, stripping me of my chance to defend my championship like the greatest champion that I am, then you spew profanity and filth afterwards. I will tolerate that, no, it will not stand."
Rene nods now, gesturing to the man beside him who just inflicted a great deal of damage to the men he is addressing.
"You see, great champions of all eras have come to the same conclusion, and I am the same: if you want to stay on the throne, sometimes you need someone watching your back. I spent years in Japan, and I made connections. After the last show, I made a call and I wrote a check, and it was a hefty one. As the man of this company, I can afford to make hefty investments towards my well being, and I purchased the best back up money can buy. Ladies and gentlemen, meet my new business associate and world renowned bad ass... the man they call KENTA!"
KENTA doesn't play to the crowd, he doesn't smile, he doesn't make any gesture except to look down and make sure that Whitmer and Dickinson aren't getting up. Rene Dupree just got a lot more dangerous, and how will the landscape here in Overdrive change now that KENTA is lurking?

NWA OVERDRIVE X DIVISION TITLE
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Kid Kash (c) vs. Jimmy Jacobs w/ Seleziya Sparx vs. Delirious
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Kid Kash (c) vs. Jimmy Jacobs w/ Seleziya Sparx vs. Delirious
The fans expected to see a highly competitive contest here, but what they got was a complete beatdown of Kid Kash. Kash is as tough a wrestler as you are likely to find, but this was just too much for the champion to take. Jacobs and Delirious had been at odds for the past two shows, but it seemed as though they struck some sort of deal here, causing the fans to boo in outrage! Delirious would end up latching on his Cobra Stretch on Kash, and Jacobs would make sure he couldn't get to the ropes or counter, causing the referee to begrudgingly call the match, Kash completely incapacitated from the hold and unable to continue. We have a new X Division champion, ladies and gentlemen, but why did this happen!? The fans chant "You sold out!" at Delirious, who grabs his newly won championship frantically.
Jacobs takes a microphone and raises the hand of Delirious as Seleziya applauds for them both, Kash still laying motionless on the mat after the utter decimation that took place just a minute earlier.
"Oh, you fans, you can chant and boo and do whatever you want, whatever will make you feel better, but nothing will change what happened here tonight, and nothing will take away this hard fought, well earned victory from my new friend, my new ally, my new partner, and the new X Division champion of Overdrive... DELIRIOUS!"
Jacobs motions towards Delirious as the new champion goes to the ropes and yells gibberish that must sound like profanity to him at the crowd, getting major heat!
"You see, Delirious had his sights set on one thing... the X Division championship, and that's exactly what I gave him. The arrogant upper management of this company assumed that's what I wanted as well, but they were sadly, sadly mistaken. No, like every great man in history, my goals go far beyond my reach, and starting here tonight, I've taken the first steps in attaining that. As my influence grows, so will my chances of getting what has alluded me for so long... a World championship. But that's exactly what my future holds."
Jacobs, Seleziya, and Delirious all leave as Kash begins to stir and this show comes to a close.
