Dean Hill, Gilbert Corsey, and Michael Titus welcome viewers to the show. Tonight is the night, the Saturday Night Special is upon us! Big night of action lined up for the Davis Arena, but first here today on TV, a main event with big consequences - Rob Terry vs The Body Guard with Terry's title shot against Marcus Anthony on the line. If Body Guard wins, The Body Guy gets the title shot. Also here today, Nick Dinsmore & Rob Conway are here to answer the challenge of Bin Hamin. Round #3 of the 2014 Miss OVW, a good old fashion Tug O' War. Rematch from last week's big upset as EFD Eddie Diamond looks to make it 2 in a row against The Ultimate Fighter Jay Bradley. In addition, comments from both Jamin Olivencia and Rudy Switchblade about the finish of last week's broadcast. 6 man tag team action kicks us off though as we head to the ring ...
Match #1
Shiloh Jonze, The French Stallion & Fabiano Rolento defeat Bud Dwight, Aaron Sky & Robbie Walker @ 5:04 when Jonze made Walker submit to the Mandible Claw. The Marauders look sharp today on TV, but as Dean notes with no disrespect, these 3 rookies are not named Vaez, Dinsmore, or Conway. Titus says that is because Dinsmore & Conway are too scared to meet The Marauders again in the ring. Gilbert clarifies again that we will hear from The Lords of The Ring later tonight in regards to the challenge for the Saturday Night Special, and we already know that Vaez gets his chance at revenge against Rolento. After the match for good measure, The Marauders beat up the 3 rookies some more at the instance of manager Bin Hamin.
-- First commercial break --
Back from break and Rudy Switchblade joins for comments about the end of last week's broadcast. Gilbert wants to know if Switchblade considered not helping Jamin Olivencia when The Ghetto Boys double teamed him. Rudy smirks and tells Gilbert to listen because he is only going to say this once. Did he or did he not make the save? Gilbert says he did and Rudy says that is all that anybody needs to know. What he may or may not have done does not matter vs what he did do. Although that said, let's look at what did happen then. He saved Jamin. The Ghetto Boys were about to take out the all great Jamin Olivencia when he saved him. Just remember that. Remember that, just like what happened when Marcus Anthony interfered in their first match. He was about to lock in the Boston Crab on Jamin and make him tap. Face it. Rudy Switchblade has Jamin Olivencia's number and at the SNS, there is only 1 possible outcome.
Miss OVW Competition
Michael Titus is in the ring with several of the women of Ohio Valley, welcoming viewers and fans in the Davis Arena to the third round of the 2014 Miss OVW competition! In the ring are Women's champion Heidi Lovelace, Taeler Hendrix, Jessie Belle, Holly Blossom, Hannah Blossom, Scarlett Bordeaux, Nikki St. John, Solo Darling, and Ray Lynn. 1 of these women will be crowned Miss OVW, and it continues tonight with the Tug O' War. Last week's round was the Talent portion which ended in a pull apart between Heidi Lovelace and Taeler Hendrix.
First up is Heidi as she requests Taeler take the rope so they can settle this. Taeler is extremely reluctant so Nikki takes it instead. The first tug o' war in this very haphazard segment sees Heidi defeat Nikki by pulling her over the line. As Heidi celebrates the win, Taeler quickly grabs the rope with Heidi still holding it with 1 hand and pulls it, defeating Heidi. A cheap win that even Titus acknowledges as such has Heidi upset, as Taeler just laughs with her fellow Mean Girls. Heidi grabs hold of the rope again and starts pulling when Scarlett & Nikki grab hold and together they pull Heidi to the line. The Blossoms to the rescue as they pick it up and we have a genuine 3 on 3 here. Not to be left out, Ray Lynn joins The Mean Girls and Jessie Belle joins the other side creating a 4 on 4. Titus asks Solo which side she is going to go to as she could be the momentum here, but before she can answer (again doing nothing this week), Team Heidi pulls the other 4 across the line. Taeler is upset as they celebrate and starts blaming the loss on the rest of her team. Nikki seems to want to defer blame to Scarlett, while Ray Lynn could care less and goes to the other side to celebrate with the winners for some reason. Titus then announces that this was round #3, but the Saturday Night Special will be round #4, and it will be the summer time classic ... the bikini beach battle royal!
-- Second commercial break --
Before the next match, the music hits and out comes Mr. Media Cliff Compton to sit ringside at commentary. Titus thinks he should leave after what he did last week out here but Compton says that he is just here to watch and take notes now that the supposed Ultimate Fighter grew a pair and signed to face him in a rematch. Gilbert clarifies that they will meet at the Saturday Night Special, thanks in large part to what happened last week. Compton says yeah, after Jay Bradley lost to EFD. Titus sees it another way with Compton having cost Bradley the match. Compton says whatever and everybody will see come the SNS when Bradley tries walking out on their match again.
Match #2
Jay Bradley defeats Eddie Diamond @ 4:09 via pinfall after hitting him with the Boomstick, the big lariat style clothesline. No signs of the loss last week effecting Bradley's performance here today, although Cliff Compton's presence has an effect on him as he loses focus a couple times. Compton says that is typical of Bradley as he has a poor attention span and maybe he will knock some sense into him at the SNS. Afterward Bradley takes the mic and tells Compton that what he just saw was the Ultimate Fighter take another victim and at the SNS, he will not be using the Boomstick because he wants to make Compton tap. This leads to Compton standing and telling Mongo to get away from him right now before he uses him as an example of what is gonna happen at the SNS. Bradley tells Compton not to worry about Mongo because it is him that will be his problem and after he gets through with Mr. Media, he will wish he were still doing KFC commercials. Compton smirks before replying and saying that as far as he is concerned, he is doing a KFC commercial right now because he is looking at Col. Sanders right there in terms of Mongo, and looking at his deep friend chicken in Bradley. Once a chicken, always a chicken, and while KFC might be finger lickin' good, Compon's ass kickin' good and going to do what he should have done at the last SNS. A heated war of words between the 2 parties heading into their rematch.
-- Third commercial break --
Before the next match, Jamin Olivencia is out to talk about Rudy Switchblade's comments earlier. Jamin says he heard what Rudy had to say but as far as he is concerned, talk is cheap. He has a lot of respect for Rudy and what he can do in that ring, and while yeah, he almost beat him 3 weeks ago before Marcus Anthony interfered, almost defeating Jamin Olivencia and actually defeating Jamin Olivencia are 2 different things. Not many can say they have beat him, but almost beat him? Hey, even he will admit that is a long list. Come the Saturday Night Special, none of this matters. All that will matter is what Rudy learned from their last encounter and if he can apply this time because he did not tap to the Boston Crab last time, nor will he this time. You can underestimate an opponent but Rudy will learn the hard way that you do not underestimate the heart of Jamin Olivencia!
Match #3
Paredyse & Metal Master defeat Stuart Miles & Raul Lamotta @ 5:16 when Master pinned Lamotta after the Jackhammer. The announcement gets made that at the Saturday Night Special, Paredyse battles Miles for a third time as they look to settle their score with a preview here today on TV. Their involvement sees a chase outside the ring that sees Miles pull his Altar Boy in front of him as Paredyse is about to hit him. Paredyse hesitates but hits the Altar Boy anyway and then chases Miles to the back. Meanwhile in the ring, the masked Metal Master downs the Rudo a third time, leaving him still winless. Fans again chant "1, 2, 3" at him and get on his case with Dean saying sooner or later, he is going to crack from all this and end up in the nut house or something.
-- Fourth commercial break --
Before the next match, TV champion Dylan Bostic was out to do commentary. As always he is joined by his big body guard The Mexicutioner. Dean mentions the comparisons between the 2 to Shawn Michaels & Diesel which makes Bostic laugh because Michaels is not half the heartbreaker he is and The Mexicutioner is like a mack truck compared to Diesel. Apparently the TV Title has given a rise to the ego of Bostic and Titus says why not? He beat 2 wrestlers in 1 match to win it. Bostic will give his supposed exertise during the next match.
Match #4
Chris Silvio & Ryan Howe defeat Nick Dumeyer & Elvis Pridemoore @ 5:36 when Howe made Dumeyer tap out to the Whammy Bar, his Fujiwara Armbar, as Silvio hit the Rocket Punch on Pridemoore to prevent interference. After the match Bostic told the commentary that they were ok, but the problem with that tag team is ego. Both of them want what he has and he intends to use that to his advantage. Bostic then stands and holds his belt up, which quickly gets the attention of the 2 wrestlers in the ring. Bostic just shakes his head and they both step out to the floor. Bostic takes shelter behind The Mexicutioner, suddenly becoming unstoppable knowing he has the muscle in his corner for the SNS. The tag team match should feature a great deal of tension revolving around the TV Title come Saturday night.
-- Fifth commercial break --
Back from break and Mohammad Ali Vaez is out with The Lords of The Ring, Nick Dinsmore & Rob Conway. Vaez starts out by telling the fans that at the Saturday Night Special, he is going to get revenge on Fabiano Rolento for everything he has done, not only to him, but to Michael Hayes. Gilbert then asks on the challenge last week from Bin Hamin. Dinsmore says that when they came back, they wanted to prove they still had it. They wanted to prove they could go. They did just that. What they did not realize what this was about more than just the 2 of them. This was about ridding Ohio Valley of Bin Hamin, so they had a tough decision to make. Conway continues that Dinsmore's just kidding because it was not a tough decision at all. Do they accept? Hell yes they do! And come the SNS, they are going to walk out Southern Tag Team champions like it's 1999 and send The Marauders packing to the Middle East where they belong. Dinsmore continues that they got a call from an old friend and he is going to be in their corner at the SNS just in case Hamin wants to pull any of his crap. This is serious to them and above proving they can still go because they already did that to themselves, this is about saving Ohio Valley from the cancer that is The Marauders.
And there it is. Saturday night August 2 at the Davis Arena, the next Saturday Night Special. A loaded lineup with 8 big matches signed and more to come, so without further ado ...
- Jamin Olivencia battles Rudy Switchblade in what is quickly becoming a heated rivalry of "who can top this?" that could decide the future #1 contender.
- Cliff Compton against Jay Bradley in a rematch from last month's SNS.
- Paredyse takes on Rev. Stuart Miles in the rubber match of their series so far.
- Chris Silvio & Ryan Howe team up against TV champion Dylan Bostic & The Mexicutioner.
- Round #4 of the 2014 Miss OVW competition - bikini beach battle royal.
- Mohammad Ali Vaez in a grudge match against 1 time partner Fabiano Rolento.
- Nick Dinsmore & Rob Conway challenge Shiloh Jonze & The French Stallion for the Southern Tag Team Title.
- Rob Terry challenges Marcus Anthony for the Southern Heavyweight Title, assuming he can defeat The Body Guard in the main event, which is up right now ...
Match #5
Rob Terry defeats The Body Guard @ 5:52 via pinfall after a spinebuster, keeping his spot as Southern Title challenger at the Saturday Night Special. A close call mid match with Body Guard catching Terry in a bear hug, but Terry managed to fight out and free himself to make the comeback. After the match, Timmy Danger & Marcus Anthony came out and a stare down ensued. It was not long though before Danger tried organizing a 3 on 1 attack! Anthony took 1 side while Body Guy another and Body Guard another. This could spell trouble, but Anthony backs down and Body Guy ends up feeding himself to the wolf here as Terry would butt their heads together. He then pressed Body Guy up above his head and threw him down onto The Body Guard, wiping both of them out. As this happened, Anthony slid in and waited for Terry to turn around. As he did, Anthony decked him with the Gamma Punch and Terry went down. Danger laughed and was jumping up and down as Terry lay on the mat while Anthony stands tall looking down at him. Is this a sign of things to come? Join us at the Saturday Night Special and find out!
