Finally got this thing written, and I'm please with how it turned out overall. I hope people don't mind the route I went on the final on this one, it came to me as I was writing and it felt like the way to go. Enjoy.
The second round matches have been set. They will be as follows-
Gran Akuma vs Sugar Dunkerton
Akuma is stone faced on his way to the ring, a silent assassin who had quite a challenge in the first round, and against Sugar Dunkerton you would expect him to not be as open to antics like Michael Shane was. Dunkerton is all smiles and offers the same "take the ball" challenge to Akuma as he did to Shane. Akuma is having none of it, charges for Dunkerton ONLY TO TAKE A BASKETBALL TO THE FACE! Dunkerton is calling for something, BASKETBALL TO THE CROTCH! Akuma rolls out in pain and looking flustered by the antics of Dunkerton, his unorthodox approach is proving difficult for even Akuma to deal with. Akuma regroups and tries to figure out a way to get past the basketball, going for a slide under Dunkerton's legs. He does it, but Dunkerton simply throws the basketball under his legs and into Akuma's face! Dunkerton then leaps up top, jumps off THROWING THE BASKETBALL ONTO AKUMA'S BACK! Akuma writhes in agony on the canvas as Dunkerton calls for his music, AND STARTS DANCING! How do you stop this guy? Akuma has an answer, as he sneaks out, grabs a chair AND SMASHES DUNKERTON IN THE BACK WITH IT MID DANCE! He hits Dunkerton over and over again with the chair, letting all his frustration out. He puts Dunkerton in the corner, grabs the chair and charges, CHAIR KICK TO THE FACE! 1-2-NO, almost had him! Akuma starts unleashing a series of violent kicks to Dunkerton's face and body, grabs the chair one more time and looks for another running kick. Dunkerton grabs Akuma mid move however, drags him to the basketball, AND HITS A DDT ON THE BASKETBALL! Its a standing 10 count and both men make it up at 7, Akuma with his chair and Dunkerton with his basketball. They have a duel of sorts, with Akuma' having the chair knocked out of his hands as Dunkerton takes him down with a shot from the basketball, then bounces the ball on his chest, knocking the wind out of him. Dunkerton picks up Akuma, slams him on the chair as heads up top, looking for Air Dunkerton. He goes for it, BUT AKUMA MOVES AND DUNKERTON HITS THE CHAIR! Akuma is calling for the finish, FALCON ARROW ON THE CHAIR! 1-2-NO, HOW DID DUNKERTON KICK OUT? Akuma sits Dunkerton out and unleashes kick after kick to his face, screaming with every blow, wanting this win more than anything. He goes for one more charging kick, but Dunkerton grabs Akuma and uses his momentum to toss him onto the grounded chair face first! He picks up Akuna, WINDMILL SLAM ON THE CHAIR! 1-2-3, DUNKERTON WINS IT!
Winner- Sugar Dunkerton
I cannot believe Dunkerton took that one, he will face the winner of our next match in the Extreme League final.
Josh Raymond is out for our next match, but there is no sign of Cibernetico. One of the officials comes out and passes on a note to our ring announcer.
"Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately during the match with Necro Butcher, Cibernetico suffered a fractured hand and a concussion. He will therefore be unable to take part in this semi final, meaning your winner by forfeit, Josh Raymond!"
The fans don't like that one bit as Raymond celebrates this as if he already has the tournament won. You would be hard pressed to bet against Raymond now, his opponent in the final has wrestled twice and Raymond has only had the 1 match.
In order to give Dunkerton some time, a 15 minute intermission is called, as highlights from the earlier matches are shown. It is also confirmed that the 2nd NWA Maximum show will be a tag team tournament, featuring 8 to be confirmed teams, many of whom will feature participants from tonights tournament. The 8 teams will be announced after tonights show.
Its time for the final! Dunkerton has some pre-match words
"Josh Raymond, maybe you think that because you've had 1 less match than me that this thing is all wrapped up. Well if you think thats true then you don't know anything about a top basketball player like me. This final is just like a last quarter in the NBA playoffs, my teams down a few points, but if we come good, find our second wind and turn the momentum, we can come from behind and win it. So get ready Josh, because I am about to win this extreme all star game!"
Sugar Dunkerton vs Josh Raymond
Raymond seems even more cocky than he was in his 1st round match, but Dunkerton doesn't seem at all bothered by this. He challenges Raymond to take his basketball from him, and Raymond accepts the challenge. Dunkerton actually makes Raymond think that he has a chance, as Raymond seemingly comes close to taking the ball, only for Dunkerton to step it up and then throw the ball into Raymond's face! Raymond screams "not my balls" as Dunkerton prepares for the slam dunk onto them, but this was just a distraction as Raymond kicks up and grabs a Headlock, taking Dunkerton to the canvas. Dunkerton gets up and throws Raymond to the ropes, as they have an irish whip exchange, only for Dunkerton to grab the basketball AND THROW IT INTO RAYMONDS BALLS! On this evidence you'd think it was Raymond who had wrestled twice with how much he's struggling, but he plays it cool, knowing his chance will come. Raymond knows that he needs a weapon to match wits with Dunkerton, so he gets a kendo stick from under the ring as a duel ensues, with Raymond going for Dunkerton's hands to make him drop the basketball. His plan works as Dunkerton lets his guard down and Raymond strikes him repeatedly with that kendo stick, targeting Dunkerton's basketball wielding hand so he can't use it again. And to make double sure that Dunkerton can't use the basketball, he grabs a knife from under the ring AND STABS THE BASKETBALL AND BURSTS IT! He completely slices the ball to pieces and that is Dunkerton's ace in the hold gone.
Raymond goes to work on that arm, putting Dunkerton into a series of submissions that have him writhing in agony, with the signs of fatigue also beginning to show on Dunkerton's face. Raymond locks Dunkerton in an Armbar, and this looks like it could be it for the underdog in this one, the only thing that can help him now are the fans, who clap and cheer for Dunkerton, begging him to escape and not give this thing to Raymond. He answers their cries as he battles out of the hold and mounts a fightback, taking Raymond down with some strikes followed by a German Suplex for a near fall. He follows that with the Bow-Chicka-Wow-Wow Lariat, but he used his bad arm and that leaves him in massive amounts of pain yet again, only just managing to cover Raymond for a 2 count. He calls for the Windmill Slam, but Raymond slips around the back, TALIBAN BACKPACK! Raymond has this won but calls for a submission on that arm to make sure, but before he can lock it the lights go out and a voice can be heard?!?!?
"Josh Raymond, do you think I'd go down that easily. No broken hand or concussion is going to stop the Digital Demon from achieving his destiny!"
The lights come back on AND CIBERNETICO IS IN THE RING! The fans go nuts and is this really wise in his current condition? Magnus D comes out and says he's in the match, so its official, we have a three way! Cibernetico fires away with right hands, not using his broken left hand of course, before running through Raymond with a Lariat! He grabs the kendo stick Raymond was using, smashing away at Raymond repeatedly, though the shots aren't causing a lot of damage with Cibernetico only able to use one arm. One of those shots however busted Raymond wide open, he looks completely thrown off his game and this could be it for him, while Dunkerton rolls to the outside to recover his energy. Cibernetico goes outside, looks under the ring AND GRABS A TABLE! He sets it up with the referee's help, grabs Raymond and is looking for the Garra Cibernetico through it which would almost certainly give Cibernetico the most unlikely of wins. He grabs Raymond by the throat and hoists him up for it, but Raymond out of desperation grabs the broken hand of Cibernetico, bounces off the ropes AND PUTS CIBERNETICO THROUGH THE TABLE WITH AN ARMBREAKER! Cibernetico screams with pain as his broken hand is almost certainly in even worse shape now
Raymond has a look of insanity on his face as he grabs a chair, puts Cibernetico's hand in it AND STOMPS THE CHAIR! Then he puts the chair around Cibernetico's arm again AND LOCKS AN ARMBAR! Cibernetico is screaming but he still won't tap, how is he holding on? Dunkerton meanwhile on the outside HAS FOUND A SPARE BASKETBALL! He rushes in ANS THROWS IT AT RAYMOND'S SKULL! The shot dazes Raymond who releases the hold and gets up. WINDMILL SLAM! 1-2-NO, HOW DID HE KICK OUT? Dunkerton puts the chair on Raymond's back and heads up top. AIR DUNKERTON! 1-2-3, DUNKERTON WINS IT!
Winner- Sugar Dunkerton
I cannot believe that Dunkerton has won this thing, Raymond all but had it won before Cibernetico's arrival so he's snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Officials rush to attend to Cibernetico who is not in a good way, but still manages to leave under his own power, the fans giving him a massive ovation for his efforts tonight and the sacrifices he's had to make as a result.
Magnus D presents Dunkerton with the Extreme League trophy and announces that as a result of his win in this tournament, at NWA Maximum's 3rd show (to be held either towards the end of December or in January), Dunkerton will challenge for the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Samoa Joe (or whoever holds the belt at that time). What an opportunity for Dunkerton, it could be the match of his life!
Thank you all for joining us for this show, we will see you in December for our second show, an 8 man tag team tournament, with teams to be announced shortly following this show on NWAMaximum.com.
