The show starts off with a ton of excitement as we’re less than a week away from Breaking Point, live only on iPPV! The show cuts to “The voice of Impact” Joey Styles with his broadcast partner “The Impact Intellectual” Don Callis. Tonight’s main event is a taste of what you’ll see at Breaking Point as Ruckus and John Cena of BLK OUT take on Josh Daniels and John Walters from the Embassy! Also tonight will be the match contract signing between Davey Richards and Sheamus!
SINGLES MATCH
El Hijo del Sol def. Brian Mendez
This was a fast paced opening contest between two lucha style wrestlers who worked hard to get the capacity crowd fired up for the show. Mendez was the heel in the match trying to rip at the mask of Sol jr. but El Hijo del Sol was able to come back strong and eventually pulled off the win after nailing a sunset flip bomb.
SINGLES MATCH
“The New Horror” Sami Callihan def. Kenny Omega
Sami Callihan is a wild man and he made short work of Omega, forcing him to submit to the horse collar submission hold(Brock Lock).
SINGLES MATCH
“The Young Dragon” Richie Steamboat def. “The Physical Genius” Jon Moxley
In a great back and forth match up with a very old school style flare to it, Moxley was in control during the majority of the match. But Steamboat was able to show serious heart, snapping off a lot of deep arm drags. But Moxley is so calculating, and was able to come back after thumbing the eyes of Richie. Moxley looked like he was going to put away Steamboat, but Roderick Strong and RD Evans came out from behind the entrance curtain. The distraction was enough to take Moxley out of match long enough for Richie to school boy him and steal the win. Moxley was fuming with rage after this match, staring down Roderick Strong who just smirked as the show went to commercial break.
SINGLES MATCH
Kyle Matthews def. Chris Ashton
In a great debut Kyle Matthews took on Chris Ashton, Ashton can pull off some dazzling high flying moves but he couldn’t come away with the win as Matthews snapped off a picture perfect superkick to beat Ashton.
SINGLES MATCH
“The Impact Rockstar” Jason Hades def. Yoshitsune
Yoshitsune was comeing off a hot win at the NWA Showcase, but Hades has been picking up steam for awhile and it continued tonight. Yoshitsune tried to get the win with a 450 splash but Hades was able to get his knees up, and while Yoshi was favoring his gut Hades was able to snap off the Killswitch giving him the victory.
After the match the show cuts to the back where Moxley has David Marquez the commish of Impact by the throat demanding a match at breaking point against Strong. Marquez fearing for his life agreed to add the match to breaking point.
SINGLES MATCH
Jay Lethal def. “The Embassy’s favorite son” Brandon Bonham
This was the match of the night as the former X division champion Bonham took on a man who was looking to capture the title. Bonham didn’t have the Embassy behind him as the rest of the team was preparing for the main event fight. Bonham showed the kind of aggression that got him the title in the first place, but Lethal was able to snap off the Lethal Injection giving him a very hard fought win.
The show comes back with Sheamus and Davey Richards sitting at a table in the middle of the ring with David Marquez standing near them. Sheamus looked to be having a lot of fun at the expense of the no nonsense Richards. Offering Richards a guinness, pissing off Richards causing him to smack the guinness out of his hand. Sheamus would flip the table as both men break into a fight, with security rushing in to break up the fight.
SINGLES MATCH
Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana vs. CM Punk
This was Punks first match since being signed to Impact, and it was against a long time friend in Colt Cabana. This match started off with both men putting on a wrestling clinic but before the match could really get going Bryan Danielson came out of the back with a chair and flattened both men with a steel chair. Danielson got in the face of Punk screaming “I’m the best in the world damn it!”
TAG TEAM MATCH
BLK OUT(Ruckus & John Cena) w/ Julius Smokes, Alex Colon & Sabian vs. Pure Dynamite(Josh Daniels & John Walters) w/ Prince Nana, Austin Clay & Brandon Bonham
These two teams just can’t be in the same place at the same time without fighting, aand tonight was no different as the match broke down quickly with both teams raging war as we head into Breaking Point.
