Uncensored Kick-Off
Welcome to the Uncensored Kick-Off show!
A video package rolls, featuring short clips of the stars in action tonight to give some hype and a preview of what is to come. We are welcomed to the show Uncensored Kick-Off show by resident NWA pay-per-view commentators Mauro Ranallo and Josh Barnett. They are joined at ringside by Windy City play-by-play man Michael Cole with the trio forming a three man team for the call of the action tonight.
We get a good view of the United Centre from the camera that pans around, the venue rapidly filling up with fans with the main pay-per-view card just 30 minutes away, The United Center is home to both the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League. We are told over 12,000 fans are expected at the gate for the first wrestling event at this venue for some time. We head straight to the ring for the first match of the night here on Kick-Off.
NWA Windy City Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Tourney Final
The Briscoes (Mark & Jay) verses The Wolves (Eddie Edwards & Davey Richards)
In the first of two matches that are on the Kick-Off show, The Briscoes beat The Wolves in a solid outing when Mark pinned Eddie Edwards with a Cutthroat Driver to earn the Briscoes a chance to add yet another tag team championship to their impressive resume. The Briscoes earn a guaranteed title shot thanks to their tournament victory. The Wolves, in particular Davey Richards, looked good but The Briscoes just worked together so well and deserved their win. They will now challenge The Usos for the Windy City Tag Team Championship, and maybe even the NWA World Tag Team Championship as well should The Usos dethrone The talented Young Bucks for the world tag team titles later on the main-card.
Winners: The Briscoes in 5:35 (Mark Briscoe pinned Eddie Edwards with the cut throat driver)
*Paige, the two-time and current Windy City Women's champion, is interviewed by Rene Young backstage in the training room as she begins to warm up for her title defence tonight. Young put's over what a challenge Paige faces in-front of her tonight in the form of the dominant woman known as "Kharma", Kia Stevens who has recently pinned Paige in both tag-team action and non-title singles matches. Paige agree's and say's she will have to dig deep to fend off the massive Kharma, but informs a new stipulation has been added to the match. Paige wanted Cheerleader Melissa banned from ringside and a no interference stip added - Kharma agreed, but only on the proviso that their match become a no DQ Match! Paige say's despite that being right up Kharma's alley, she agreed and it's on and somehow, someway, she will find a way to retain her championship.
*Ranallo, Barnett and Cole next get into the meat and bones of tonight's main-event, the big 4-man Fatal Four Way match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship as Chicago favourite Chris Masters goes up against familar foe Samoa Joe, rising star Jay Lethal and the champion, the perhaps G.O.A.T, AJ Styles.
The commentators go over each man's prospects, Ranelllo favours the champion AJ Styles who somehow always managed to get it done. Josh Barnett fancies Jay Lethal saying he's a star on the rise riding an upward momentum curve. He's tested himself in two close NWA World Jr Heavyweight Championship matches against Daniel Bryan, he's got the championship experience now and Barnett feels he will win the big one tonight. Michael Cole precdictably goes for Chicago fan favourite Chris Masters, saying he came so super close against Samoa Joe but was thwarted by injury, but tonight at Uncensored he's healthy in red hot form and with the backing of the racious home promotion fans here in Chicago, Cole says this support will propel him forward to realise his dreams here tonight and win the World Heavyweight Title.
NWA Windy City Cyber TV Championship Match
Solomon Crowe [c] verses Adam Cole
Solomon Crowe has been using his hacker skills to engineer his way to retaining the Cyber-TV Championship in recent weeks, but tonight he met his match in the form of Adam Cole. Using one his favourite parlour tricks Crowe turned the arena lights off with the iphone that he shoves down his boots. Normally, once the lights come back on we usually find his opponent is down out-cold and Solomon Crowe takes the pinfall. Not this time though, as the lights came back on sooner than usual Cole ducks a steel chair shot from Crowe who's momentum takes him past Cole slightly. Cole grabs Crowe's neck with his left arm from behind and hit's the Corona Crash reverse DDT! Cole covers and gets the three count to win the Cyber TV Championship.
Cole celebrates with his new belt while Crowe stirs and seem's to be blaming being hacked himself for the mishap with the lights! Adam Cole's celebrations are cut short though when Tyler Breeze run's out and slides into the ring... poses while Cole turns and hit's his Beauty Shot jumping spinning heel kick knocking Cole down. Tyler soaks in the boo's before picking up Adam Cole's Cyber TV Championship and the iphone that Solomon Crowe left in the ring. Breeze tosses the belt over his shoulder and takes a selfie of himself with the belt before tossing both down onto Cole and leaving the ring.
Winner: Adam Cole in 7:20 with the Corna Crash (Adam Cole wins the NWA Windy City Cyber TV Championship)
Cole, Ranello and Barnett discuss Cole winning the Cyber TV Title and the attack by Tyler Breeze. All agree that both men will be one's to watch in matches for much bigger titles soon enough they are sure before they move on to hyping the matches on Uncensored which is now under a minute away, it's not too late to order they cry as the countdown clock starts with just seconds remaining. They hype for last minute buys and we cut out and head to a begining montage for the Uncensored pay per view.
-------------------------
NWA Uncensored
The pay-per-view starts with a big pyro show and a shot of the fans now all in their seats for tonight's action. We head backstage first as Rene Young has an interview with two Windy City stars who have big matches tonight!
We join Rene Young backstage infront of the designated interview spot, with the Windy City & Uncensored logo's straight infront of the camera. Rene is with both Chris Masters and John Cena. She starts by saying tonight could be a momentus occassion in Windy City, because if John Cena can retain the NWA North American Championship, and Chris Masters can win the NWA World Heavyweight Title tonight Chicago will have both major NWA singles champions calling Windy City home! Not to mention The Usos can win the tag team titles tonight, alll the gold could end up in Chicago tonight!
Masters gives a promo saying tonight he is 100% fit, in amazing hulk shape and will realise his dream and finally become NWA World Champion in his adopted home of Chicago! Masters was given great pops and cheers from the Chicago fans. Cena who has tagged with Masters in the recent past says tonight he will make a statement to the Chicago fans who have not taken to him to their hearts, and he will start by defending his North American title against Brian Cage and will prove that he is the best wrestler on American soil today. Cena received boo's and some minor cheers but seemed to ignore the boo's. Cena and Masters shake hands and wish each other luck for tonight before leaving, going their seperate ways as they look to start preparations for tonights big matches.
Interpromotional Rubber Match
Fin Balor verses Kota Ibushi
This match served as the rubber match of a three match trilogy between two rising stars in Fin Balor and Kota Ibushi. This is a rivalry that has served both men well and has made a name of Kota Ibushi in the United States. Balor was without Sheamus tonight, his now perhaps former tag team partner, who Ibushi defeated on Wednesday Night Live. Balor and Sheamus had been having a fractured time as a tag team, and Balor has seemingly ended that relationship and headed into this match alone, and what a match this was!
Both Balor and Ibushi left it all the ring tonight in what was a show stealing match on the pay-per-view and a great way to open the show with a sensational match. Kota Ibushi gave it his all, but tonight, Fin Balor just about edged this one as after a grueling back and forth battle he managed to pull his body to the top rope and land a double foot stomp to Ibushi's chest to score the victory!
A standout performance from Balor, who could very well be contending for championships both in Windy City and on the NWA World stage after this breakout victory and performance.
Winner: Fin Balor by pinfall in 18:28 with a double foot stomp from the top rope.
*Renee Young is backstage with Chris Jericho infront of the Uncensored logo.
Young: "I am here with NWA legend and former six time World Champion, Chris Jericho. Chris, tonight you go one on one with Personal Demons, in a match where your career is at stake. What are your thoughts ahead of this match?
Jericho: "Well Renee, I can't deny it, I am worried. Jeff Hardy, Personal Demons, whatever you want to call him, has become a very dangerous human being, and while I know I can beat him, there is every risk that my career could come to an end tonight in Chicago. But I'm not going down without a fight. I will have the support of all the Jerichoholics in the arena tonight, and with Shane Helms as referee I know this match will be a fair fight from bell to bell. If I win, then everybody is going to know that "The Highlight of the Night" is back and ready to go back to the top, but if I do lose then Personal Demons, I'm taking you with me!"
Match for the Return (or not) of Serena Deeb from The Family
Luke Harper w/The Briscoes & Serena Deeb verses Sami Zayn
Harper was accompanied by The Briscoes, the new #1 contenders to the Windy City Tag Team Titles, and also the kidnapped Serena Deeb. The first time we have been allowed to see Serena since she was abducted by Luke Harper and Mark Briscoe some weeks ago on Saturday Night Live. Deeb looked like she didn't want to be anywhere near Luke Harper and The Briscoes and also seemed extremely petrified and timid.
Sami Zayn has stepped up to get Harper in the ring to try and literally wrestle Serena away from the clutches of the vile Family and tonight valiantly battled against the big and intense Luke Harper, who was backed up every chance they got by The Family with the group running several interference's. Zayn tried to get to Serena throughout the match but was constantly blocked and cut-off by The Family. The finish came when Harper charged Zayn, he ducked hit a reverse DDT and rolled Harper over with his leg and latched on The Koji Clutch. It looked to be heading for a Sami Zayn victory and for Serena Deeb to be free'd, as per the terms of the match, when The Briscoes tried to get in the ring but was stopped by the ref. This left Serena Deeb alone for the first time on the outside.
Serena seemed to consider running to safety and leaving the ring at first but then looked into the ring at Luke Harper, and then at Sami Zayn. Deeb slid into the ring close to Zayn for safety perhaps and hanged back as Zayn ramped up the Koji Clutch and seemed to be moments away from victory. A close-up on Serena showed her face change, as she suddenly stepped forward and kicked Zayn in the head breaking the hold! Zayn shot up and asked Deeb what was wrong, trying to reassure her that she's safe with him when Jay Briscoe sneaks up from behind and hit's Sami Zayn with a steel pipe from behind. The ref turns away from Mark Briscoe in time though and see's this viscous attack with the blunt instrument and immediately calls for the bell, disqualifying Luke Harper.
Harper got his senses back, and stared at Serena Deeb somewhat in surprise. The Briscoes also stare at Deeb, not having expected this turn of events. Deeb steps towards Luke Harper and stands behind him, and holds onto Harper up-close. Harper grins, as Josh Barnett on commentary cries that Deeb might just be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome or something here! Becoming emotionally attached to her captors, The Family!
Winner: Sami Zayn by DQ in 10:48 (Jay Briscoe struck Zayn with a steel chair)
Heavyweight Singles Match ~ No-Time Limit
Heath Slater verses Curtis Axel
This match was set up after Axel and Slater went the full ten minutes on two different occasions, with Slater getting the split-points win as per the rules of the matches both times in very closely fought bouts. Tonight they fought with no judges or time-limit's. Prior to tonight Slater was saying he was not paid by the hour and was dispatching lower card talent in quick fashion while Curtis Axel was going the distance, perfecting his craft, and earning wins in long matches over the likes of tough competition like Dolph Ziggler.
Slater went at Axel hard and fast, just like he said he would putting everything into the first couple of minutes. Axel survived the barrage though, and began to take over. Axel began to display clear dominance, and hit a fisherman's suplex but Slater kick's out. Axel doesn't waste any time though, he's up and grabs Slaters neck and hit's his AxeHole finisher, a hangman's facebuster before scoring the three count. A great win for Curtis Axel who has obviously improved in leaps and bounds since his first couple of matches with Slater and is now on another level.
Winner: Curtis Axel in 4:08 by pinfall after an AxeHole
*Personal Demons is in the shadows of the basement of the United Center, with The Reject also sitting beside him.
Demons: "Tonight is the night I've been waiting for all this time. Tonight in front of the entire NWA, I will retire Chris Jericho, no matter what or who wants to try and stop that from happening. And to top it all off, I get the pleasure of watching Shane Helms count the 3 count, the joy of seeing Shane against his will having to count one of his closest friends shoulders to the canvas, costing him his career in the process is almost too much to bear. Part of me wants to see you snap Shane, part of me wants to see you smack me in the face, forcing you out of this business to and removing another headache from my path to the top of the NWA. Then again, maybe I want you to stick around a little longer Shane, it'll be fun to see what the grief of Jericho's retirement does to you. It may even cause you to fall to your own Personal Demons. But for now, I'm going to simply enjoy putting an end to an NWA legend's career, sending a message to everybody watching at home, that the entire NWA will fall to Personal Demons.
NWA World Tag Team Championship Match
The Young Bucks [c] verses The Usos (Windy City Tag Team Champions)
The Usos have been asking for more competition in Chicago and they will get that with The Briscoes winning the contenders tourney earlier tonight on the kick-off but they definitely got competition tonight as they faced off against the ubber-talented NWA World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks.
This was a very competitive match, one which truly could have gone either way with The Usos and The Young Bucks styles meshing well and producing a very good match. The Usos at one point thought they had won the World Tag Team championships when Jey pinned Matt for a three count following a splash from the top rope, but the result was reversed when the referee realised the legal man in the match was Nick Jackson, and not Matt!
The match was then restarted, and after this controversy, the match saw a frenzied climax with false finishes that led to Jey Uso missing a big splash from the top, while Jay was knocked to the outside by Matt. Nick Jackson scooped up Jey and hit a rolling fireman's carry slam, followed by a 450 splash by Nick Jackson into a diving moonsault by Matt and The Young Bucks score the victory and retain their titles with the More Bang For Your Buck!
Fantastic finish sequence and The Young Bucks retain and look worthy champions. The Usos proved that they are an elite tag team who came very close to snaring World Tag Team gold to go alongside their Windy City belts tonight, and at one point thought they had done just that until the decision was reversed. They will learn from this defeat no doubt and showcased that they are strong contenders for further tag team title shots down the line, especially so with the controversy involved.
Winners: The Young Bucks in 12:19 after the More Bang For Your Buck (The Young Bucks retain the NWA World Tag Team Championships)
NWA North American Heavyweight Championship Match
John Cena [c] verses Brian Cage
Brian Cage the freelancer, and formerly of NWA Mid-Atlantic was the last holder of the United States Championship in Mid-Atlantic and believed this made him the best wrestler in the US today, John Cena the reigning NWA North American Heavyweight Champion disagreed. The two was supposed to meet in March on iPPV over in Mid-Atlantic but that match didn't happen due to the sale of Mid-Atlantic but it happens here tonight on the larger scale of NWA pay-per-view.
Cena was jeered and boo'ed once again throughout this match with the Chicago fanbase pulling for outsider Brian Cage, such is their dislike of Cena. Cena has for the most part kept his moral high-ground and remained true to himself, despite displaying some heelish tendencies towards the Chicago crowd, for which he really cannot be blamed given the level of abuse he has received.
Tonight Cena was all business, and damn was he impressive. Cena totally dominated this match from almost start to finish, showing great strength with various suplexes and slams. Cage tried some offence but Cena wouldn't let him get started and soon finished him off with zero posturing to the crowd with a clinical FU for the 1-2-3. Cena wins and retains the NWA North American Heavyweight Title but chooses not to celebrate the win and to instead grab his belt, leave the ring and immediately walk straight to back with no acknowledgement towards the crowd, who's boo's got progressively louder and louder as Cena left.
Winner: John Cena via pinfall with the FU in 05:29
Six Man Tag Match ordered by The Powers That Be!
Triple H, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose verses Daniel Puder, Hideo Itami & Rockstar Spud
Stips;
*If Triple H's team wins, Rollins & Ambrose get title shots of their chosing & Spud & Itami are fired.
*If Puder's team wins, Triple H will be sacked as Chief of Staff, Spud will get a full roster spot and Itami will be allowed to continue his career as he chooses.
This six-man tag team match was placed well in the mid card to give the show some depth and variety, and a nice change of pace. It was also a very important match with the future of Windy City Chief of Staff Triple H on the line, as well as the careers of all the other men involved in the match. Windy City legend Daniel Puder and Triple H clashed on several occasions and indeed it was Puder who was the difference as he hit Triple H with a big running elbow that allowed Rockstar Spud to capitalise and hit the bent over Hunter with his Rockstar Stunner! Spud wrapped up Triple H and made the cover and scored the huge upset pinfall to earn himself a full roster spot here in Windy City as well as send Triple H home with his pink slip!
Triple H was enraged, and demanded Rollins and Ambrose attack Spud but was soon left on his own by Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose who abandoned him and headed to the back. A host of security came out and Triple H was escorted to the back kicking and screaming as the fans jeered him. Triple H is no more in Windy City... who will rise to take his place in power remains to be seen.
Winners: Daniel Puder, Rockstar Spud & Hideo Itami in 08:22 when Spud pins Triple H after a Rockstar Stunner.
NWA Windy City Heavyweight Championship Match ~ KO' Match
Kevin Steen [c] verses Kofi Kingston
Steen displayed his vaunted 'balls of steel' and went balls to the wall in this match, not heeding to the words and warnings of Kofi Kingston - who told Kevin Steen not to pander to the fans.... Not to put his body on the line and take unnessary risks just to entertain. Rey Mysterio had taught Kofi this and now Kingston was looking to pass on this lesson, this knowledge to Kevin Steen the hard way.
Kofi once more utilised a low risk style in this match, prefering to keep his feet on the floor and cut out the high flying, such is his new style over the last few months. Kingston once again used strikes and a style resembling the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira. Using feints, pokes and clinical strikes while as mentioned Steen went full out and threw everything, including himself at the wall, literally.
The end came when Steen went for his flying cannonball from the ring to a downed Kingston placed on a table outside the ring. Unlike what happened at the last Fight Night, this time Steen did not miss! Steen hit that big cannonball sending Kofi through the table with a huge impact that sent shards of splintered wood flying everywhere. Steen did himself some major damage with this move, somehow though he managed to get to his feet and Kofi who was buried under the debris was counted out for the count of ten. Steen drops back down to the floor holding his side, he retains the Heavyweight Title but at what cost to his health... this victory took alot out of Kevin Steen - will his title reign be able to sustain many more battles like these? Kofi Kingston might not have won the match, but Steen will be feeling this tomorrow and he might very well know what Kofi Kingston was telling him!
Winner: Kevin Steen by KO in 15:20 after a cannonball to the outside onto Kofi through a table.
NWA Windy City Womens Championship Match - No DQ, No Interference Match
Paige [c] verses "Kharma" Kia Stevens
This was a real battle for the Women's Championship here in Chicago. Kharma has been a thorn in the side of Paige and tonight's championship match was now under No DQ Rules & No interference rules meaning that the likes of Cheerleader Melissa and Gail Kim would not be seen at ringside. Kharma used every dirty trick in the book in this match and Paige too was not stupid and used the lack of rules to her advantage as well.
Stevens was in charge of the match and looked to set up an Implant Buster but a low-blow from Paige stopped that in it's tracks. Paige slid to the outside and brought in a steel chair and blasted Stevens over the head with an unprotected chair shot. Paige makes the cover but amazingly, Stevens kicks out! Paige is shocked but ready's herself for another shot and slams Kia over the head as she got up but the shot only sent her down to one knee. Paige is incensed but slams the chair onto the back of Stevens sending her down. Paige makes the cover but Stevens kicks out again!! Paige is punching the canvas out of frustration and Kharma is infact getting support from the fans here.
Paige is slamming the canvas with the chair repeatedly waiting for Kharma to rise. Kharma is up just about and turns into another chair shot from Paige that sends her down out cold. Paige makes the cover 1-2-3 it's over, but what a war and what a resilence Kharma showed here. Paige surveyed the fans seemingly ignoring her and cheering Stevens and quickly grabs her belt and leaves in a huff while Kharma was down for a good while but getting applause somehow managed to get back to her feet with blood trickling down her forehead, but with a meancing almost smirk on her face, I don't think this one is over, but the fans might have changed who who they want to get behind here in this feud tonight!
Winner: Paige via pinfall in 11:13
Personal Demons verses Chris Jericho
Stips;
If Chris Jericho Loses, He Must Retire
Special Referee: Shane Helms (Helms must retire if he shows bias)
This is it, the match that has been building for two months, ever since Personal Demons smashed Chris Jericho's head through the Highlight Reel monitor in February. Jericho could only get the match by putting his career on the line, giving the match a whole new level of risk for him. And to top it all off, Shane Helms is the special referee, who must show utterly no bias to either side nor interfere, otherwise he will be forced to retire himself.
The two exchange lockups to begin, before Jericho takes Demons to the canvas with some sharp matwork. Demons though isn't going to take that, he charges and takes Jericho down with a charging Clothesline. He goes outside and grabs a kendo stick, this is a NWA Maximum rules match so there are no rules, and starts smacking away on Jericho with it. He then starts taunting Helms, begging him to hit him, with Helms fuming away knowing he can't do a thing or his career will be over. Demons works over Jericho in the corner with punches, then grabs a chair and charges, running into Jericho full force with the chair! He goes for the cover but Jericho kicks out at two. Demons takes the chair and climbs up top, looking for a diving chair shot, but Jericho moves and takes Demons down with an Enziguri. The two are both down for a 5 count before Jericho mounts a fightback, hitting a few Diving Forearms followed by a Suplex. Jericho then hits the Lionsault! 1-2-NO! Jericho calls for the Codebreaker, but Demons manages to block it and goes for the Twist of Fate, BUT JERICHO REVERSES TO THE WALLS OF JERICHO! Demons is in serious trouble as Jericho has the hold fully locked, and the fans are begging him to tap out. But before he can, The Reject runs out with a chair AND SMACKS JERICHO WITH IT! Demons recovers as The Reject smacks away at Jericho with the chair, that is until the light go out! A message appears on the titantron-
You thought I was dead
My death you could have sworn
Well I have risen again
I HAVE BEEN REBORN
My death you could have sworn
Well I have risen again
I HAVE BEEN REBORN
The light come back on AND MATT HARDY IS IN THE RING! The fans go nuts as Hardy fires away on Demons with punch after punch after punch, and screams with rage as Demons slumps to the canvas. The Reject tries to attack him with the chair, but Hardy avoids it, TWIST OF FATE TO THE REJECT! Demons tries to attack from behind, but Hardy avoid it, TWIST OF FATE ON THE CHAIR TO DEMONS! hardy leaves through the crowd, the first time we have seen him since the brutal assault several months ago by Demons that left him hospital bound. Jericho slowly crawls over to Demons as Helms begs him to get over there, and he makes the cover. 1-2-DEMONS KICK OUT! Dammit that was so close, how did Demons escape the 3 count? Jericho slowly stumbles to his feet and lifts up Demons, as he goes one more time for the Codebreaker. But Demons manages to avoid it yet again, TWIST OF FATE ON THE CHAIR! Demons covers Jericho, 1-2-JERICHO KICKS OUT! Demons slowly climbs to the top rope. SWANTON BOMB! Personal Demons goes for the cover as Helms reluctantly count, 1-2-3. Chris Jericho's NWA career is over.
Winner: Personal Demons via pinfall after a Swanton Bomb in 15:23
Demons celebrates maniacally at what he has done, he has just retired one of the greatest NWA stars of all time, as Helms looks devastated by what he has been forced to do. But he held his end of the bargain and was unbiased. Demons leaves as Jericho slowly gets up and Helms looks close to tears, apologising to Jericho for having to do the count. Helms leaves as Jericho receives a standing ovation from everybody in attendance, the fans chanting "thank you Jericho".
Then the entire locker room come out onto the ramp, applauding Jericho as he looks overwhelmed by the response. This includes all of the current NWA Champions, who head for the ring along with NWA President Dustin Smith. Smith is carrying a briefcase as Styles takes the mic.
Styles: "Chris Jericho, as the current NWA Champion and the main representative of all the wrestlers in the NWA, I want to say on behalf of every wrestler and promoter in this alliance, thank you. You are one of the greatest wrestlers to ever set foot in an NWA ring, and one of my favourite ever opponents. We wrestled in San Diego, California 5 years ago in a match for this very belt, the night where I won my second NWA World Title from you, and it was an amazing match, one that still lives long in my memory. We would like to present you with a very special memento. "
Dustin Smith open the briefcase, and reveals a title belt with Jericho's name on it.
Styles: "This is an exact replica of the NWA World Title belt I hold right now, with your name on it. With your six reigns as World Champion, the 3rd most reigns after Harley Race and Ric Flair, it is the very least that you deserve. Now there is someone else who would like to say goodbye, if he wants to come out here. "
The locker room parts as Lance Storm makes his way to the ring. Jericho and Storm shake hands and embrace, as Storm takes the mic.
Storm: "If I can be serious for a moment, Chris, its been a while. This day comes for everyone sadly, it came for me and now its come for you to. We broke into the business at the same time, and as The Thrillseekers I remember thinking we were going to be one of the best tag teams of all time. (laughs) As you can see we ended up going down slightly different career routes, but I always knew you were special Chris, you have talent and charisma that most wrestlers can only dream of. I think I can safely say on behalf of everyone here that there will never be another Chris Jericho. "
Storm applauds as everyone gives Jericho another huge round of applause. Jericho then takes the mic.
Jericho: "For one of the very few times in my career, I'm speechless. When I started in this business over 20 years ago alongside Lance, I never once thought that I would end up with all the achievements that I have. I've wrestled some truly awesome opponents over the years that I want to give shout outs to. During my reigns as World Junior Champion, there were some great opponents that I wrestled in that division, like Sean Waltman, Juventud Guerrera, Psychosis, Alex Wright, Dean Malenko and of course the late, great Eddie Guerrero. "
"Eddie" chants start up as Jericho points to the sky to signal to a man who we tragically lost nearly 10 years ago.
"Then when I graduated to the Heavyweight division, there were many true greats who I was fortunate to share a ring with, including this man in the ring with me AJ Styles. Just some of the guys who I remember putting on classics with included DDP, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle, Triple H, Randy Orton, Edge, and of course, The Undertaker. We put on so many classics over the years together and I look to those men as well as everyone standing on the ramp as a brother. You have all helped to keep the tradition of the NWA alive, and I know that even though I'm gone, you will only help the legacy and heritage of this alliance grow even more. Thanks to all of the Jerichoholics in the audience tonight and watching at home on pay per view, its been a pleasure."
Jericho shakes hands with all the wrestlers in the ring as the crowd and the wrestlers on the ramp give him a thunderous ovation and another "thank you Jericho" chant. Jericho leaves with tears in his eyes as everyone heads to the back. Thank you Chris Jericho and good luck in your retirement!
NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship Match
Daniel Bryan [c] verses Neville w/Paul Heyman (NWA Windy City ZG Champion & 2015 ZG Cup Winner)
Bryan has been the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion for almost 2 years since he beat Alex Shelley for the title in June of 2013 - an almost unprecedented lengthy title reign in this day and age of professional wrestling. Neville meanwhile has been on an ascent of meteoric proportions himself having first won the 2015 ZG Cup tournament in Chicago before going on to dethrone and retire Sean Waltman for the Windy City ZG Championship. He has done this with the help and assistance of one Paul Heyman but there can be no denying his talent. This match was a brilliant back and forth battle between the veteran Bryan and the rising star Adrian Neville, what would win out experience or youth and talent.
Bryan was recently tested to the max by Jay Lethal in two grueling encounters and perhaps this played a part, as Neville escaped the Yes Lock and both men scrambled and ran the ropes, Neville hit a leg lariat taking down Daniel Bryan and scaled the ropes and swiftly performed his Red Arrow, a corkscrew shooting star press which hit! Bryan was too fatigued, too worn down to move. Neville hook's the leg 1-2-3! Neville is the new Junior Heavyweight Champion! Neville pins Daniel Bryan clean and Paul Heyman can't believe it! Heyman is ecstatic as he grabs the belts, he passes Neville the Windy City ZG Championship Belt and the NWA World Jr Heavyweight Belt and Neville climbs the ropes and hold both belts high into the air.
Winner: Neville via the Red Arrow in 21:12 (Neville wins the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship)
MAIN-EVENT
NWA World Heavyweight Championship Fatal Four Way Match
AJ Styles [c] verses Chris Masters verses Samoa Joe verses Jay Lethal
This was just an amazing match as all four men had big motivations for trying to become World Champion. Jay Lethal had come so close against Daniel Bryan for the Junior Title but he has built on that and propelled himself into World Title contention. Samoa Joe, the former World Champion, has not received his rematch for the championship against AJ Styles and was shunned of his chance in Impact Wrestling but tonight he gets his chance. Chris Masters, came so close to dethroning Samoa Joe himself despite being hindered by injury but now infront of his Chicago homebase he has the fans behind him and is healthy. AJ Styles meanwhile, has this murderers row of challengers coming for him but he wants to prove he's the greatest of all time, the G.O.A.T, and the only way to do that by walking out with the title tonight and casting away the challenges of three other men.
With Jay Lethal battling Samoa Joe on the outside, the ref was over trying to bring both men back in the ring. Chris Masters looked to set up a getting back to his feet AJ Styles for the Masterlock but JOHN CENA hit the ring and FU's AJ Styles!
