Titan vs. Dragon Lee
An exciting way to the start the night as these two young luchadors worked to hard to impress the fans and threw everything but the kitchen sink at one another. Things began to change mid match though as Titan gained control and the crowd seemed to really get behind Dragon Lee, forcing Titan to somewhat embrace the rudo way of doing things. Dragon Lee would eventually wow the crowd with a reversal into an arm drag that sent Titan sliding under the bottom rope. The crowd was on their feet a moment later following the Operacion Dragon and Dragon Lee was finally in control. Titan would escape a few near falls before catching Dragon Lee with an enziguri and then took out his frustration with a dropkick to the back of Dragon Lee’s knee. The crowd reacted harshly as Titan had his hand raised following the Titanics.
Fenix & Angel de Oro vs. Pentagon Jr. & Niebla Roja
In an odd twist that made for a great match, two sets of brothers squared off in the second match… but not on the same team. Fenix and his older brother Pentagon Jr. started things off and wowed the crowd with their timing and ability to feed off one another. Angel de Oro and Niebla Roja showed much of the same but took the match out of the ring and showcased how sibling rivalry can go bad. The crowd were nearly forced to get behind Fenix & Angel de Oro as Pentagon Jr. took the rudo tactics to another level as he repeatedly fouled his opponents and then dumped Fenix into the first row. The pace picked up near the end of the match as everyone took to the air and began unloading with their biggest offensive moves. The referee seemed to be constantly slapping the mat as he tried to keep up with all the action. Eventually the Fenix Driver ended things for Niebla Roja and the poor referee but Pentagon Jr. took exception and used the Pentagon Driver on Angel de Oro at ringside. Fenix was clearly upset with his brother but Niebla Roja seemed absolutely shocked as he looked from his partner to his brother laying motionless on the floor and then back at his partner. Pentago Jr. simply shrugged his shoulders towards Niebla Roja and then blew a kiss to Fenix as he walked back to the locker room.
ACH vs. La Sombra
In a complete shift from the last match, La Sombra was given the biggest ovation of the night so far while ACH seemed to simply have a niche of the crowd in his corner. These two picked up right where they left off last time though with Sombra attacking ACH before the bell rang. This quickly spilled to the floor and the referee was definitely lenient with his count as everyone wanted to see this match end in the ring. ACH controlled the beginning of the match with his quickness allowing the crowd support for Sombra to grow, culminating with a terrific counter from a tornado DDT into a Northern Lights suplex. The match became much more back and forth from there as both men connected with big moves but could never hold the other’s shoulders down for more than a two count. ACH kicked out of Sombra’s split-legged corkscrew senton, while Sombra returned the favor after the Hero’s Grip. ACH eventually used the Best 450 Ever but Sombra was able to roll out of the way before shoving ACH into the turnbuckle and catching him on the rebound with the Brillante Driver to a huge ovation.
Kazarian vs. Kenny Omega
This was another great match and allowed Kazarian to do so much more than his last match in Lonestar against Anoa’i. Omega has been on a roll and he continued to show his talent here in a back and forth match. Omega definitely stepped up his heel game and probably garnered the largest jeering from the crowd all night. Omega controlled much of the match but Kazarian used his experience advantage to counter when needed and never seemed to be in trouble. The finish came as a bit of surprise nonetheless though as Kazarian blocked a vertical suplex and then attempted one of his own, only to have Omega counter with a knee to the gut and then the Aoi Shoudou out of nowhere for the win. Kazarian was back up as soon as the three was counted and slapped the mat in frustration as Omega celebrated on the turnbuckle to the dissatisfaction of the fans.
Los Hijos del Toros vs. Forever Hooligans
The main event seemed designed to showcase the former World Tag Team Champions in front of the mostly latino crowd in El Paso but someone must have forgotten to tell Romero & Koslov. This was a good match though it paled in comparison to the previous two matches, but seemed to carry more emotion as the Hijos del Toros used every dirty tactic available to them and oddly maintained a large amount of crowd support throughout. The finish came as Texano Jr. used the Tornado Texas to defeat Koslov while Rush and Romero battled at ringside. The crowd gave a great ovation but Rush wasn’t done as he celebrated with Texano before grabbing a chair at ringside and attacking Romero as he checked on Koslov. Romero was dumped from the ring by Texano as Rush positioned the same chair over the arm of Koslov. Rush then used the Lanza to seemingly break the arm of Alex. Rush then grabbed a microphone and immediately chastised the management of NWA Lonestar. Rush said they had issued a warning weeks ago that they wanted a shot at the World Tag Team Champions. He noted that they defeated former Champions, the Rockstars of Wrestling, but instead of being given a Championship match or another set of top contenders they were put in a match against the Hooligans, and won but that proved nothing. Rush then admitted that all the boys in the back had been talking about a rumor that NWA Lonestar was in negotiations to sign the World Tag Team Champions, the Young Bucks, to a contract and as a direct result of that… Koslov loses his arm so that everyone knows they are serious. Rush officially invited Young Bucks to Texas but promised they wouldn’t be Champions for very long if they sign the dotted line.
