Dark match sees Leon Shelly defeat Ram Jam @ 3:42 via pinfall with a flying body press from the top rope. A big opportunity for Shelly to build off the recent matches with Mario Bokara that saw him become the only wrestler to last 1+ minute with the brute. Last minute tests of the stream and lighting are conducted with the match before going live.
Gilbert Corsey | Jim Cornette | Scarlett Bordeaux |
Gilbert Corsey and Jim Cornette welcome viewers to the broadcast. Dean Hill is out of action after taking Brock Lesnar's F5 a week ago, hence the replacement from the Director of Authority. Cornette says it is unfortunate what happened, but the show goes on, and what a show tonight. 8 big matches, 8 huge matches in fact, in what promises to be Ohio Valley's biggest night of the year for a second year running.
- War Games: Danny Davis leads Jamin Olivencia, Marcus Anthony, Dylan Bostic, and Brock Lesnar against Jeff Jarrett's team of Rob Conway, Nick Dinsmore, Adam Revolver, and NWA World champion AJ Styles. Olivencia and Styles will start the match, and we know that dissention has torn apart Team Davis in recent weeks with Lesnar being called an atom bomb by the captain to ensure that if he doesn't walk out of the match, nobody does.
- King of The Valley: Elijah Burke, Mike Hayes, Ali Vaez, Melvin Maximus, Robbie Walker, Rump Thump, Raul Lamotta, and Seleziya Sparx compete in a ladder match, winner gets a guaranteed shot at the OVW Title whenever they choose.
- OVW Heavyweight Title: Champion Cliff Compton defends against the masked Matt Classic. Compton vows to unmask Classic and prove it is Colt Cabana. The King of The Valley winner could also in theory cash in after, or even during this match.
- NWA World Women's Title: Champion Heidi Lovelace defends against Jessie Belle, the woman who ended her OVW Title reign a year ago. Will lightning strike twice?
- OVW Tag Team Title: Champions The Congregation defend in a 7 team gauntlet match against Paredyse & Ryan Howe, TerreMex, Shiloh Jonze & Eric Locker, The Fabulous Freebodies, The Wild Boyz, and the last minute addition of Dapper Dan & Elvis Pridemoore.
- Chase Owens vs Jeremiah Plunkett in a Grudge match of former East stablemates
- Daniel Puder vs Mario Bokara in a battle of the minute men, this will not go long
- James Thomas vs Shane Williams as The King of Knoxville finally makes his OVW in ring debut
In addition, Timmy Danger will welcome CM Punk and Daniels to The Danger Zone as Punk will reveal the stipulations for their upcoming 'fight' at Fall Brawl. Right now, Scarlett is standing by with the introductions for the opening match as she handles ring announcing duties for the evening.

Chase Owens | Jeremiah Plunkett |
Chase Owens defeats Jeremiah Plunkett @ 8:25 via pinfall after the Roaring Elbow. A heated grudge match kicks off the show. Plunkett tries to play up the recent injury, but it's just a ruse to get advantage of Owens when the match started falling out of favor for him. Plunkett would look to hit the Killshot on Owens, but he ducked the big right hand and instead lifted a turning Plunkett onto his shoulders into a Death Valley Driver on to the knee, turned to a neckbreaker. Owens then hit a moonsault off the middle rope and waited. As Plunkett got up, he drove the elbow in to finish him off. A big weight is lifted off the shoulders of Chase Owens as he can now put his focus onto his World Junior Heavyweight Title shot at champion Neville at the upcoming Fall Brawl PPV event.
Tag Team Title Gauntlet match
VS | ||||
The Wild Boyz | Dapper Dan | Elvis Pridemoore |
The Wild Boyz defeat Dapper Dan & Elvis Pridemoore @ 1:59 when Eddie Diamond made Pridemoore tap out to the Crossfire Crossface. The order of entry is determined by the elimination order of the battle royal a week ago, with the Dapper Dan & Elvis Pridemoore team a late addition. The former Tag Team champions get the quick tap out win, but have a long way to go here if they want their belts back.
The Fabulous Freebodies |
The Wild Boyz defeat The Fabulous Freebodies @ 3:36 when Eddie Diamond made The Body Guy tap out to the Crossfire Crossface. A second straight fall goes to the former champions with another quick elimination. Post match, Big Jon gets in and lets The Wild Boyz have it. He chokeslams The Party Starter Bud Dwight, and then chokeslams Diamond. The Body Guy then verbally lets the 2 have it, clearly this early exit not being a part of The Freebodies plan for this match tonight.
The Blacklist |
Shiloh Jonze & Eric Locker defeat The Wild Boyz @ 1:48 when Jonze put Diamond out with the Mandible Claw. Never a team to shy from an opportunity, The Blacklist take full advantage of Big Jon's post match work. They take out The Wild Boyz, and get the win to keep going when Jonze makes EFD pass out to his finisher. The 2 ready themselves because the next team will not be as easy to eliminate from the gauntlet.
TerreMex |
TerreMex defeat Shiloh Jonze & Eric Locker @ 5:02 when Randy Terrez pinned Locker after the twisting corkscrew moonsault. Big elimination as 2 of the favorites go at it for a good 5 minutes. Locker nearly gets the fall as he gets Terrez up for the Hurt Locker, but he turns and Mexicutioner spears him into next week. Terrez then goes up top and hits his finisher to put the fall away and keep going as they move 1 step closer to the Tag Team championship.
Paredyse | Ryan Howe |
TerreMex defeat Paredyse & Ryan Howe @ 6:13 when The Mexicutioner pinned Paredyse after a spear. The last step to the champions sees The Congregation making their way out to observe. Paredyse & The Rockstar provide worthy opposition, but TerreMex continues their momentum with Mexicutioner hitting another spear to take the victory. No time for rest though because The Pastor of Disaster is ready and sends in the troops to try and quickly finish this off to retain their championship.
Tag Team champions The Congregation |
TerreMex defeat Tag Team champions The Congregation to win the title @ 5:24 when Randy Terrez pinned Jade Dawson after the twisting corkscrew moonsault. A wild & chaotic affair sees Stuart Miles attempting interference by distracting the referee. He then tosses 'the good book' to Jake Glasure, who turns to hit The Mexicutioner, who ducks and as Glasure spins, shoves him into Dawson to sandwich them in the corner. Dawson goes down as Mexicutioner grabs Glasure and throws him to the floor while Terrez heads up top for the finish. New Tag Team champions crowned and The Pastor of Disaster is beside himself at the loss.
Backstage Interview
Terry Boddie | Jamin Olivencia |
The Fan Advocate asks the former OVW champion about the recent actions of Danny Davis, first keeping Olivencia in the dark that Brock Lesnar was at the contract signing where he signed himself into a 3 way at Fall Brawl, and then again that Lesnar was the 5th man on their War Games team.
Jamin Olivencia: "Terry Boddie, there's a time and a place for everything. Right now, my focus is on War Games. I have to go in there with the World champion for 5 minutes to start that match. This is my chance to get AJ Styles 1 on 1 and show him, no, prove to him!, that I am the best wrestler today. I can't worry about what Danny Davis did and what Brock Lesnar may or may not do. That's for another time. If of course, there is another time. I'm not naive, and if this is the end, locked in a cage with the Beast Incarnate unleashed, partner or not, I'm not going down without a fight."
As Olivencia walks away, a stage hand alerts Boddie to get help because somebody is down and unresponsive. The camera cuts away before any more information is passed on.

James Thomas | Shane Williams |
Shane Williams defeats James Thomas @ 6:17 after a flying fist drop from the middle rope. The King of Knoxville made his royal debut here, joined by Queen Taylor at his side. The big Moose had control of the match and looked to be readying for the win with Williams downed in the corner. As Thomas readied for the moose Kick, Williams was able to get the referee's attention and allow for his Queen to grab the ankle. Thomas turned as Williams was up and pulled brass knuckles from his tights. Thomas told the referee to get her out of here and as the ref turned his attention to her, Thomas turned to eat the big loaded right hand to the jaw. Williams then finished him off. Post match Williams grabs Thomas and sets him up for the banned piledriver, hitting it. Cornette on commentary reiterates the move is banned in this state and Williams will face a hefty fine for that.
VS | ||
Daniel Puder | Mario Bokara |
Mario Bokara defeats Daniel Puder @ 4:31 via tap out to the standing Fujiwara armbar submission. Puder leaves nothing to chance as he takes it to Bokara right from the bell. This is a hard hitting affair early with Puder taking Bokara into unfamiliar territory early with no Bokara match having exceeded 96 seconds so far. Puder would eventually get a takedown and put Bokara into the keylock, but he got to the ropes before tapping. Back up and Puder went back to the arm, but Bokara managed a forearm to the jaw. Bokara then quickly hits a belly to belly suplex. As Puder gets up, he leaves the arm prone for the submission. Puder tries to avoid the tap, but Bokara wrenches it on and Puder taps. The commentators are in borderline shock at the result. Bokara not only defeats Puder, but makes him tap and makes it look easy.
Post match and Bokara is not finished. After the referee raises his hand, he immediately goes back to the arm of Puder and reapplies the standing Fujiwara armbar. He locks it in and Puder continues to tap, but Bokara will not relent. Finally he gives it a final wrench as if to snap the arm. Bokara releases as Puder holds his arm and the referee throws up an X sign. Bokara takes the Croatian flag and drapes it over his shoulders, spreading his arms out to extend it. He shouts out "The legend is dead! Long live Mario Bokara!" as Cornette compares this to Rocky IV when Drago kills Apollo Creed. And few in this building could argue what could just be the beginning as Bokara moves to 9-0 with what is his most significant win so far. Gilbert throws out the added stat - the total time of those 9 matches is only 10 minutes, 33 seconds.
Backstage Interview
Terry Boddie | Danny Davis |
The Fan Advocate asks the founder of Ohio Valley whether he has any regrets on his actions in recent weeks, specifically not alerting Jamin Olivencia to the deal that Davis struck with Brock Lesnar.
Danny Davis: "I have no regrets. This isn't wrestling Terry, this is war. It ceased being about wrestling the moment that The Lords of The Ring turned their backs on me, on the fans, and the legacy that I've created. In war, you have to make difficult decisions. You sometimes have to run false flag operations without your own army knowing. That's what I did with Brock Lesnar. Jamin, he doesn't have to like it nor respect it, but I'll be damned if Jeff Jarrett walks in here and takes over what I built. If somehow I don't leave that cage, then I'm making sure that nobody else does either! This is scorched earth if it has to be and I just hope that Jamin can learn to understand why it has to be this way."
King of The Valley ladder match
Ali Vaez | Elijah Burke | Melvin Maximus | Mike Hayes |
Raul Lamotta | Robbie Walker | Rump Thump | Seleziya Sparx |
To the winner of this match goes a guaranteed shot at the OVW Title whenever the holder wishes. With the introductions of the competitors, there is no sign of Rudo Raul Lamotta. After the other 7 are introduced, Director of Authority Jim Cornette stands from commentary and takes the house mic so he can address this.
Jim Cornette: "If I can have everybody's attention right now. Earlier tonight, you saw signs of an altercation backstage as Jamin Olivencia was being interview by Terry Boddie. I can confirm right now that what happened was an attack on The Rudo Raul Lamotta. Not only that, but he is unable to compete tonight in this match. Now normally I would look to point fingers but the fans were promised 8 wrestlers, leaving me with a bit of a predicament. Any replacement needs to be deserving. Somebody with a record that earns them the spot without qualifying. And despite nearly the entire roster being unavailable tonight, there was 1 name that stood out. 1 name with a win-loss record in 2015 second to none. 1 name with an OVW Heavyweight Title reign in the last 365 days to his credit. And that 1 name ... haha, sometimes I enjoy this job too much. Ali Vaez, you can thank me later. Ladies and gentlemen, the 8th participant in King of The Valley ... RUDY SWITCHBLADE!"
The fans lose it as Switchblade steps out from behind the curtain. Vaez immediately begins protesting this decision. It has been 3 months since Switchblade's last match, before he was turned on by The Blacklist for losing. He made 1 appearance since in costing Vaez a match with John Cena last month on the special 2 hour live edition of OVW TV, and it looks like he might now be ready to cost Vaez the King of The Valley match as well. Gilbert asks Cornette if he suspects that in fact Switchblade might have taken out Lamotta. Cornette says he doesn't know and quite frankly, he doesn't care!
The match starts with Mike Hayes jumping Vaez as Switchblade slides in under the bottom rope. The 2 take turns with right hands. Ladders are setup around the ring for the wrestlers to use, but it might be a while before they come into play. Vaez exits the ring, but Switchblade follows as the 2 brawl outside the ring. Meanwhile The Pope Elijah Burke is going after Mr. Marvelous Melvin Maximus with manager Josh Ashcraft shouting instructions to 4M from the floor. Hayes begins to brawl with Robbie Walker, while Rump Thump backs away from Seleziya Sparx. He is reluctant to get into it with a female competitor, but Seleziya has no problem as she decks him with a forearm. Gilbert asks Cornette on whether this is to the advantage or disadvantage of Seleziya? Cornette says she has competed in intergender matches before so it's nothing new for her, the biggest question is the psychological aspect for the other 7 wrestlers and how comfortable they are with administering offense to a woman.
Vaez on the floor manages to reverse Irish whip Switchblade into the barrier. He grabs a ladder and folds it to slide it in under the bottom rope. He gets in and picks it up but Hayes is there to grab the other end. Vaez manages to shove it into Hayes to back him off, then drive it into his face. Switchblade meanwhile folds up a second ladder. Vaez sets up the first ladder, but can't even begin to climb it as Walker grabs him. Switchblade meanwhile sets up the second ladder, sliding it in, creating a bridge as it drapes on the rungs of the other ladder and the middle rope. Before he can even use it though, Seleziya sets up Rump Thump and powerbombs him onto the second ladder. Maximus gets Burke down and looks to start climbing the erected ladder, but has trouble with it. Ashcraft shouts from the floor and points to a large ladder, specially designed for a man of his size.
Maximus exits to get the other ladder, meanwhile Switchblade is back in and brawling with Vaez, slamming him face first into the horizontally positioned ladder. Hayes meanwhile starts the difficult climb. With 1 leg and the other an artificial leg, this will prove difficult, if not impossible. Maximus slides the other ladder in, meanwhile Burke is back up and grabs at Hayes to keep him from climbing up. At the ropes meanwhile, Walker springboards off and gets all the way to the ladder. He quickly climbs and grasps at the briefcase, but Hayes kicks Burke away and reaches up to stop him. Meanwhile Maximus pushes the second ladder away, and begins to teeter the ladder that Hayes & Walker stand on. He finally knocks it over, sending both wrestler crashing to the mat with the ladder. He sets up his own personal super sized ladder, but will get some opposition.
Before he can climb, Seleziya stands in his way. Melvin tells her to just get out of his way. She refuses, meanwhile Ashcraft yells to 'hurt her'. Maximus finally grabs her, but she drops down and drives up a forearm for a low blow. Maximus drops as Seleziya starts climbing the ladder. Vaez grabs her leg to stop her, but she kicks him off. As this goes on, Rump Thump picks up another folded ladder and gets some revenge from earlier as he throws it up and hits Seleziya, knocking her down. Rump Thump drops the ladder and starts a climb, but Switchblade heads up the other side. The 2 brawl at the top before Switchblade finally knocks him off. He reaches up for the briefcase as the fans cheer, but Burke sets up another ladder side by side. He climbs up quick enough to stop Switchblade. Meanwhile Walker climbs up opposite Switchblade, and Hayes climbs up opposite Burke. All 4 are there, but each pushes on the other ladder, and both ladders are sent crashing down in opposite directions.
This opening allows Vaez the opportunity to setup a new ladder. He quickly starts to climb, but Maximus just grabs him and forces him down several rungs. Vaez begs as Maximus grabs him. As that goes on, Seleziya climbs and actually gets her hands on the case, only for Maximus to turn his attention to her. He pulls her down and shoves her away. She charges back but takes a clothesline. Rump Thump tries to fight with Maximus but gets thrown out to the floor instead. Maximus looks up, but it's a small ladder again. He calls in Ashcraft to climb the ladder for him!? Ashcraft quickly does so and starts to climb the ladder, but by this point Burke, Hayes, and Walker are up again. The manager gets to the top as Maximus tries fighting them off, meanwhile Switchblade is outside getting a table. He sets it up and climbs the other side of the ladder with Maximus busy. He meets Ashcraft at the top and jumps off, delivering the RudyKO onto the manager through a table to a big pop!
Burke manages to knock Maximus back into the classic Andre spot, arms locked between the top and middle ropes. Burke turns and takes a jumping knee to the face from Hayes. The army vet looks up as the fans cheer for him. Hayes starts another climb up the ladder. Vaez is up and climbing the other side. Vaez gets up there first, but is unable to unlock the case as Hayes gets there. The 2 start battling over it. Meanwhile Switchblade sets up a second ladder, fallen over with the top positioned against the top rope. Vaez manages to knock Hayes off. He starts to unlatch the case, but Switchblade steps onto the ladder and pushes off the top rope to send it upright and next to Vaez. He grabs the case and slams it into the head of Vaez to knock him off. Switchblade starts to unlatch it as Seleziya grabs his leg. Switchblade unhooks it!
The unlikely last minute addition to King of The Valley has won the match @ 18:54. The fans are going wild as Switchblade holds up the briefcase. With the win, he now has a guaranteed OVW Heavyweight Title shot, whenever he chooses. Maybe even ... tonight? Cornette reiterates that those are indeed the rules. Most of the wrestlers accept the outcome, but Vaez is furious with this conclusion to the match. He heads over to the commentary table and tells Cornette that Switchblade wasn't even in the match, he never qualified. Cornette tells him to tell somebody who cares. Switchblade holds it up as Vaez looks on. Gilbert says that 1 thing is for sure, this is not the last of their war. In fact, it is only the beginning.
The Danger Zone
Timmy Danger | Daniels | CM Punk |
The newest interview segment has Timmy Danger welcoming the 2 participants in the Fall Brawl semi main event match. Daniels returns to the ring for the first time in nearly 2 years to try and make CM Punk eat his words ever since. Tonight, Punk wanted this chance to announce the stipulations for their unsanctioned match. Both men are brought out. After exchanging some back and forth words, Punk gets to the reason they're here.
CM Punk: "I'm sure you're wondering what match I have planned for us. And don't forget Daniels, by your own words, since you're retired, you want this to be an unsanctioned match. That means anything I've learned in training for my upcoming UFC debut, it's all legal. Correct?"
Daniels: "Sure Punk. Whatever you've learned for your big publicity stunt, you can use all night long for all I care."
CM Punk: "Oh! OHHHHH! The comedian everybody! Laugh now, get it all out. Get it alllll out. I wonder how much your trainer for this, big bad Daniel Puder, I wonder how much he's laughing right now after Mario Bokara beat his ass right back out the door? That's who's training you? Or rather was. That's the real joke out here."
Daniels: "Let's just get this over with Punk. What's the deal for Fall Brawl?"
CM Punk: "The loser has to watch a 24 hour loop of you hosting a baby shower for Claire Lynch, complete with your metrosexual scarf. Ok, ok. How about this Daniels? When I win, I want you to publically admit that I'm better than you. I want you to stand in this ring and tell the entire world that you were scared of defending that World Title against me 1 on 1, so you took the ball and you went home. And you did it because you knew I would beat you, just like I'm going to do at Fall Brawl."
Daniels: "Fine. Fine Punk. That will never happen though because you won't beat me at Fall Brawl."
CM Punk: "Ah! Ah! There's more. Haha, there is a lot more. You might even say 60 minutes more. See, I know that you haven't stepped into combat for almost 2 years now. If you're so great, let's really put that to the test. 60 minutes, most falls wins, I think they call it an Ironman match."
No response from Daniels as he seems to ponder the ramifications of this.
CM Punk: "Ladies and gentlemen! Christopher Daniels, stumped! What's the matter? I thought you were some sort of legend? I thought you were some sort of God because you retired as the World champion? And now 60 minutes scares you?! You're Christopher Daniels! The Fallen Angel! The great, almighty ... the fraud, the phony, the fake. I knew it and now these people know it. You're a pretender, you've always-"
Daniels: "I accept."
Punk smirks and starts laughing. Daniels is sufficiently angered and just stares a hole through him. It is now set for Fall Brawl. Daniels, not having competed in 21 months, steps back into the ring for an unsanctioned, 1 hour Ironman contest, most falls wins. And if Daniels does not come out the winner, he must publically admit that CM Punk is the better man. Punk exits the ring as Daniels just watches him.
NWA World Women's Title match
VS | ||
Champion Heidi Lovelace | Challenger Jessie Belle |
World Women's champion Heidi Lovelace defeats Jessie Belle to retain the title @ 9:46 via pinfall after a frog splash. Lightning does not strike twice as Lovelace avenges the title loss of 13 months ago, but not without difficult opposition from the second generation southern Belle. A new mean streak comes through with Belle as she even hits the Southern Justice Gory Bomb on Lovelace, but maybe waits too long, giving Lovelace the chance to kick out. From there, Lovelace would make the comeback, hitting the Heidi-can-rana, followed by a Shining Wizard. That put Belle down long enough for the champion to go up top and deliver her patented frog splash to retain her title and take the win. Now Lovelace will go on to defend against challenger Paige from Windy City at Fall Brawl in 15 days time.
Heavyweight Title match
VS | ||
Challenger Matt Classic | Champion Cliff Compton |
Heavyweight champion Cliff Compton defeats Matt Classic to retain the title @ 10:38 via pinfall with a school boy and a handful of tights for leverage. Classic nearly had the match and the title with his series of old school offense, but was unable to finish the match off. The airplane spin and the clawhold both drew near falls on Compton, and perhaps sensing that the end was near as Classic went for the Heart Punch, Compton got desperate. As Classic wound up, Compton pulled the referee in the way, maybe even hoping for a DQ. Classic stopped in time, but the distraction was long enough that Compton was able to school boy him and pull the tights for added leverage. Compton quickly escapes as he steals a win in retaining the title. Classic can't believe it, but Compton will continue his reign. He did however not unmask Classic to reveal him as Colt Cabana to the world per his own goal.

Terry Boddie | Jim Cornette |
The Fan Advocate Terry Boddie is out at ringside, joined by Jim Cornette.
Jim Cornette: "What a night this has been! But it's just the beginning. As many of you know, in just 2 weeks from tomorrow, we head to Freedom Hall. The first event ever held there with affiliation from Ohio Valley Wrestling. For the first time ever, the NWA will present Fall Brawl live on PPV from right here in Louisville, Kentucky. It promises to be a gigantic night of action. Every World championship will be defended. And right now, here is the lineup for this event ..."

"It promises to be the biggest night of action to hit this area since the glory days of Billy Wicks vs Sputnik Monroe. This is going to be like a throw back to the height of the 1980s when Jerry The King Lawler was at his peak. You do not want to miss this event! It will become, guaranteed, a chapter unto itself of wrestling's history when the book is written. But now, it's time. The cage is ready, so let's send it up to the ring. Fall Brawl, October 25, PPV, but we still have to get through 1 more match here tonight."
War Games match
It is now time for the night's main event. A cage surrounds the ring. 2 teams of 5 will do battle over the future of OVW. Since arriving in OVW back in early May, Global Force Wrestling owner Jeff Jarrett immediately took target of OVW talent for his company, specifically Jamin Olivencia on that first night. Promises of a World Title match were rebuffed as Olivencia would try and do things 'the hard way', getting a shot at a co-branded live event on June 21, only to lose via DQ when Jarrett himself interfered.
2 wrestlers that did not turn down Jarrett were Rob Conway & Nick Dinsmore, jumping at the chance to sell out and try to both revive a career and prevent a slump in the other. The jump was a knife in the back of Danny Davis, leading to this match. Jamin Olivencia, Marcus Anthony, and Dylan Bostic were chosen to round out Team OVW, while OVW's own TV champion Adam Revolver would jump ship and join NWA World champion AJ Styles to round out Team GFW. But it was the mystery 5th man on Team OVW that created the most buzz in this match.
Brock Lesnar arrived, seeking a shot at the World Title for a non title win over the champion in the summer. He targeted the #1 contender Olivencia, leading to the request that the Fall Brawl main event be made a 3 way. Davis agreed on the condition Olivencia join his team, but Lesnar's participation was turned down. Lesnar would interrupt the contract signing and take everyone out to sign it anyway. On top of that, he would be announced as the 5th member a few days later, now teaming with Olivencia, the man he faces in 2 weeks time.
VS | ||
Jamin Olivencia | AJ Styles |
Per a ruling, Jamin Olivencia and AJ Styles would start War Games and the initial 5 minute period. This gives the fans a small preview of what will come at Fall Brawl. They leave nothing to chance here, going all out to start the match. Olivencia gives Styles a tour of the cage, smashing him face first into all 4 sides. Just as Styles seemed dazed and out of it, dropping to 1 knee, he steps out and jumps back to hit Olivencia with the Pele Kick. Styles gets up and tries hitting the Styles Clash early. He wraps the legs up but before he can step over the shoulders, Olivencia uses core strength to pull himself up. He fires a few right hands before dropping back and bringing the champ with him for a hurricanrana.
They get up with Styles charging for a clothesline, but Olivencia ducks and jumps up. Styles turns as does Olivencia, and a leaping clothesline puts the champion down. They get up and Olivencia hits another. He picks up Styles and fires him into the ropes, dropkick on the money! Olivencia steps back and waits for Styles to get up. He jumps into position for a Standing O, but Styles blocks it by turning the body and throwing him back with a modified T Bone Suplex into the side of the cage.
The clock winds down. What if ... Brock Lesnar?! Only Danny Davis and Jeff Jarrett surround the ring. A coin toss takes place for the man advantage. Jarrett wins! The buzzer sounds and Jarrett motions to the back for the next participant to emerge ...
Adam Revolver |
The OVW TV champion heads out and gets in the cage, immediately putting the boots to Olivencia. While not on the level of a Styles, the World champion is more than pleased to see the help right now. He steps in and backs Revolver off so he can start kicking away himself. The World champ then calls the shots. Revolver holds Olivencia as Styles readies a right hand. He charges, but Olivencia ducks and Styles decks Revolver by mistake! Styles turns to a couple rights from Olivencia. He then sends Styles into the ropes, leapfrogs. Styles goes under and collides with Revolver. The timer for the 2 minutes winds down as Olivencia will get some help out here ...
Dylan Bostic |
Dylan Bostic! The biggest surprise of Team OVW as Danny Davis personally selected him as though selecting the future of his company. Bostic enters and goes right after Revolver, the 2 having recent history with each other over the TV Title. This gives Olivencia the opportunity to go back at Styles with all his focus. Bostic sends Revolver into the corner behind them, but runs head on into a boot to the face. Revolver charges out with a clothesline and then immediately hits Olivencia from behind. Jarrett breathes a sigh of relief as his team not only has the advantage again, but is about to go back to the man advantage as well ...
Rob Conway |
It's The Ironman! He doesn't race out but takes his time. Fans boo as Conway seems to admire himself while Jarrett aplauds. Davis just shakes his head as Conway gets inside. The next 2 minutes are tough on Team OVW. Conway hits Bostic with the Ego Trip, effectively taking him out. This leaves Olivencia in a 3 on 1. Revolver first hits a Russian Leg Sweep. Conway follows that with the Ego Trip. Styles finishes it off with the Styles Clash as the 3 exchange high fives. Bostic gets to a knee, but gets promptly kicked back down. The timer winds down as the 3 await the next victim ...
Marcus Anthony |
Davis pumps a fist as the timing couldn't be better. The longest ever OVW champion heads out. Anthony immediately gets into the cage and 1 by 1, each of the 3 opponents comes at him to get hammered down. Revolver gets back up and charges into Anthony stepping out of the way and sending him face first to the cage. Conway comes at him with an axe handle, but Anthony instead hits him in the midsection and hammers him in the back. Styles back off. This is a situation the World champion certainly does not want to be in. He backs up, right into an awaiting Bostic. Styles turns and takes a right. He bumps to Anthony, another right. Back to Bostic. The 2 take turns with the shots before Anthony levels him with a big clothesline. The timer winds down though ...
Nick Dinsmore |
Mr. Wrestling. The 'sell out' that started this whole thing with his actions at the September SNS. Dinsmore is cautious to get in. Instead he takes the cowardly step of forcing the door shut and locking it again. Anthony shakes it to try and open it. Olivencia is back up. Bostic climbs the cage and challenges Dinsmore to get in. The referee opens the door again as Anthony steps out to motion for Dinsmore to get in, but just then - Jarrett slams the door on him! Anthony falls back in and drops to a knee.
And now Dinsmore has no issue getting in. He gets in and delivers a right to Anthony as Olivencia makes the save. The 2 exchange rights, meanwhile Styles and Revolver are both back up. Bostic gets kicked by Revolver, while Styles gets Olivencia from behind. Conway and Dinsmore then work together, lifting Anthony up and driving him head first to the cage. He is down and might be suffering concussion like effects. The timer winds down ...
Danny Davis |
The owner pulls his jacket off and carries it in. He wastes no time getting into the cage and despite being 63, he has the energy like this is Knoxville in the mid 80s. Dinsmore takes a right. Conway takes a right. Revolver takes a kick to the midsection and an uppercut. He then takes his jacket and wraps it around the throat of the TV champion. Bostic comes from behind and delivers the backstabber to Revolver. Davis turns his attention to Conway with another right, but Dinsmore makes the save. All the while Olivencia and Styles continue going at it, while Bostic starts a climb of the cage. Conway & Dinsmore have Davis and ready to send him into the cage, but Olivencia pulls him down. Styles gets in there. Meanwhile Bostic is at the top of the cage. He stands, reaching the Davis Arena roof almost. And with that ...
BOSTIC JUMPS! He heads into the sea of wrestlers, taking every last one of them out. But sure enough, the timer goes ...
Jeff Jarrett |
Good ol' Double J has a good laugh as he lifts up the apron and pulls out a guitar ... and a second guitar. He heads into the ring and with all the talent down, waits for them to get up. Davis is up first, taking a guitar shot square to the head. Jarrett grabs the second and turns his attention to Anthony. If he takes a guitar shot after the head damage he has already endured, that could be it. Lights out. Jarrett winds up, but instead Olivencia grabs it away. Jarrett turns and begs off. Anthony grabs Jarrett and pulls him into the suplex, driving in a fist on the way down, the Gamma Punch. Anthony stands but gets greeted by a springboard moonsault from Styles, transitioned to an inverted DDT. Olivencia has the guitar, Styles stands, the timer goes! ...
Brock Lesnar |
And it is time. The fans stand because there is only 1 man left. The man described by Danny Davis as an atom bomb, designed to wipe out whatever's left because if he can't win, nobody can. Lesnar heads to the ring and enters with a 3 way stand off. Styles would seem to be in trouble here as it is a 2 on 1 in theory, but realistically this is every man for himself. Lesnar shoots in on Styles! He goes down into the kimura. Conway & Dinsmore in for the save, but Lesnar shoves them both off. He then grabs Conway and throws him into the cage with rattling force. Dinsmore takes a German Suplex. He goes for a second but Revolver breaks it up, only to get promptly lifted into a position for the F5, and it connects! Lesnar has eradicated the Global Force team, everybody at least except ...
Jarrett begs off. He starts climbing the cage but Lesnar grabs him. He pulls him down to the mat where Jarrett gets on his hands and knees begging. Lesnar seems to show some mercy as Jarrett gets up, but Lesnar grabs him and spikes him to the mat, landing a ground and pound of vicious forearms. Lesnar gets up and stares Olivencia in the face, still holding the second guitar. Lesnar backs off the rest of the team as he approaches his Fall Brawl opponent. Bostic makes the mistakes of stepping in to reason, only to get thrown over with a belly to belly suplex. Davis tries to hold Anthony back, but he steps in and the 2 brutes go toe to toe. Lesnar manages to finally floor Anthony with a right forearm. The 'Beast Incarnate' turns and gets blasted dead on with the guitar ...
No effect. None whatsoever. Lesnar just smirks with blood trickling down and shoots in to grab Olivencia. Give Jamin credit, but Lesnar is too big, too fresh, too animalistic. He gets Olivencia into a German Suplex. 1. 2. 3 times! The Davis Arena is officially relocated to Suplex City as Lesnar lands the trio. He stands and eyes the only man left. Danny Davis backs off. Lesnar wipes some blood from his face, promptly tasting it. Olivencia makes the save, but quickly gets throw onto the shoulders. F5! Lesnar stands and looks down. He heads to the door, ignoring Davis, and just leaves the cage. The damage is done.
Under normal circumstances, Davis should be worried. He is now at a 5 on 4 disadvantage, but he was also the only man not to suffer the wrath of Lesnar. Davis takes the ring jacket as Jarrett gets to his knees, wrapping it around the throat. He yells for Jarrett to give up! Jarrett refuses so Davis wrenches back further. Demon eyes come out as Davis, the once humble owner, looking to stay out of the spotlight is now firmly entrenched in war. Jarrett passes out and the referee calls for the bell. No verbal surrender, but it's a necessary step. Danny Davis gets the duke here for his team, taking the threat of Global Force Wrestling and meeting it head on.
Davis looks to his team. Anthony is loopy, while Bostic helps him up. Davis checks on them before turning to Olivencia. He has one hand on his ribs as Davis extends a hand to him. Olivencia just looks at it though and shakes his head 'no'. He heads out of the cage as Davis looks on, clearly upset at that gesture. And why would Olivencia not be upset? He was basically used by Davis, a pawn in this human chess game, sacrificed for the win. Davis manipulated the situation, did whatever he could, and fans and wrestlers alike have seen a new side to the man with this whole situation.
And with Rage In The Cage history, all roads lead to Fall Brawl in only 2 weeks time. Big questions now as the status of Rob Conway and his NWA North American Title shot have to come under question with the Global Force loss, and what else will go down between Jamin Olivencia and Brock Lesnar as they move towards a triple threat challenge of the NWA World championship held by AJ Styles? It all happens October 25 at Freedom Hall. Fall Brawl. Don't miss it!
