NWA All Star Wrestling (debut show)

PNE North Forum, Vancouver, BC February 15, 2016
ASW ring announcer Scotty Sweatervest opened the show by introducing video tributes to three wrestlers associated with the original All Star Wrestling who have passed away in the last five years, then finished with a ten-bell salute to those wrestlers:
Following the ten-bell salute, Azeem the Dream stormed to the ring and grabbed the arena mic from Sweatervest, then launched into a rant: "Hey, whazzup with all this junk about honoring a bunch of dead fossils, huh?" Azeem started, drawing boos from the crowd in response to his disrespectful tirade. "This ain't some funeral eulogy, this is supposed to be a wrestlin' show! We ain't here to honor a bunch of old geezers whose time passed when dinosaurs still walked the Earth, we're here to wrestle and pay tribute to the current and future generations of this business!"
COLIN CUTLER vs. AZEEM THE DREAM
As Azeem continued his rant, Colin Cutler ran out to the ring and dropkicked his opponent from behind to start the match up. After a second dropkick on Azeem, Cutler delivered a chop to his foe's chest, then hooked his head and shoulder, grabbed his leg and took him down with an exploder suplex. Cutler went for the pin attempt but Azeem kicked out after the one-count by referee Mike Edwards. Azeem got up and bounced off the ropes to charge at Cutler, who caught him, spun him around and drove him into the mat with a spinning side slam. Despite the twenty-pound weight advantage over Cutler, Azeem found himself in what amounted to a squash match as he barely got any offensive moves in against Cutler, who determined to teach Azeem a lesson for his irreverent rant during the ten-bell salute to Kiniski, Savage and Olsen. Following the side slam, Cutler climbed to the top turnbuckle and delivered a flying elbow drop, then pinned Azeem for the three-count at just 1:42. Cutler then asked for the house mic as the crowd cheered while Azeem rolled out of the ring to return to the locker room, then pointed up to the ceiling and said "Gene, Dutch and Oly, this one's for you guys!", which drew some applause from the fans in attendance.
TESSA BLANCHARD vs. KIMBER LEE
Tessa, the daughter of Four Horsemen legend Tully Blanchard, made her ASW debut here tonight and set out to show off her skills, talent and training in her matchup against Kimber. Tessa started out with a front kick to Kimber's stomach to double her over, hit a knee lift to her opponent's face to send her down to the mat and then nailed Kimber with a knee drop to the face. Tessa went for a quick pin attempt, but Kimber kicked out after a one-count, then countered a piledriver attempt by Tessa by back-flipping her to the mat and delivering a high kick against Tessa as she got up from the mat. After several minutes of back-and-forth action, Tessa caught Kimber telegraphing a backdrop attempt off the ropes and, after headlocking Kimber, delivered the slingshot suplex and got the three-count for the win at 8:07.
JINDER MAHAL & GAMA SINGH JR. vs. "DAYTONA BAD BOY" JASON CAGE & NICK PRICE
Cage took the early advantage with a kneelift on Mahal to send him to the canvas, then the "Daytona Bad Boy" strutted his stuff for the less-than-appreciative crowd. Cage then put a headlock on Mahal, who then powered out and bodyslammed his opponent before tagging Singh in. Gama took Cage down with an armdrag and followed up with a running elbowdrop, then picked Cage up and whipped him to the ropes for a backdrop attempt but got kicked in the gut by Cage, who then chopped him in the chest before tagging Price in. Price delivered a forearm smash to Gama's back and whipped him to the ropes for a successful clothesline but missed a second attempt when Gama backdropped him, then took him down with an armdrag and tagged Mahal back in. Mahal whipped Price to the ropes and knocked him down with a high knee, then picked him up and finished him with a Death Valley Driver for the winning pinfall at 6:40 while Gama ran in to keep Cage from interfering with the pin.
TOM PEARCE vs. "WILDMAN" DARREN OSBORNE
This match was a continuation of the feud between Pearce and Osborne that began in Pacific Coast Wrestling, which saw Pearce become the most decorated junior heavyweight in PCW history as he won five Pacific Coast Junior Heavyweight Championships, an NWA Canadian Junior Heavyweight title and a WWA World Cruiserweight title, but Osborne had some success in the feud as he captured two Pacific Coast Junior titles of his own, the first of which came by dethroning Pearce for the title in Los Angeles on February 28, 2003.
After the introductions and the bell being rung to start the match, the two rivals locked up for a few seconds before Osborne double-underhooked Pearce's arms and took him down to the mat with a suplex, then followed up by picking Pearce up, whipping him off the ropes and taking him back down with a flying head scissors. Osborne nailed Pearce with a dropkick, but missed on the followup with an attempted springboard dropkick as Pearce dodged and Osborne hit the canvas. Pearce elbowdropped Osborne and hooked the leg for a pin attempt, but the "Wildman" quickly kicked out after the one-count. Pearce whipped Osborne into the turnbuckles and followed, flipping forward and crashing into his foe with a cannonball. Pearce dominated the next few minutes of the match by keeping Osborne under control with techincal skills and some dirty tactics in his arsenal, including grabbing the top rope for illegal leverage several times while he had Osborne in an abdominal stretch as referee Kevin Jefferies checked to see if Osborne would submit while the fans yelled for the ref to pay attention to Pearce's cheating. Jefferies soon caught Pearce in the act when he grabbed the top rope again and knocked his hand away, enabling Osborne to hiptoss Pearce and retake control of the match with a standing dropkick, then threw Pearce through the ropes to the ringside floor, climbed to the top turnbuckle and came down on Pearce with a flying bodypress from the top rope to the floor that got the crowd on their feet cheering. Pearce reversed an attempted whip by Osborne to the ringside railing and charged at him for a clothesline, but Osborne escaped in time and Pearce went sailing over the railing into the front row. Osborne pulled Pearce back over the railing and threw him back in the ring, then climbed up to the top turnbuckle again and signaled for a misslie dropkick to the crowd, but with Jefferies distracted telling Osborne to come down, Pearce pulled what appeared to be a foreign object from his left boot and hid it in his right fist, then got up and clocked Osborne with a punch as he came flying off the top turnbuckle. Pearce hid the object in his left boot again while pretending to take a moment to recover, then he got up and kneedropped the out-of-it Osborne and went for the pin to take the ill-gotten victory at 16:32. Pearce rolled out to ringside and basked in his win while the fans booed, but while he was busy arguing with some fans in the front row, Osborne recovered from the foreign object strike, followed Pearce out to the floor and started brawling with his long-time rival around ringside and chased him back to the locker room area.
(Scotty Sweatervest is now in the ring with "Gorgeous" Michelle Starr to address the crowd)
SCOTTY SWEATERVEST: Ladies and gentlemen, with me now in the ring is the owner of NWA All Star Wrestling, "Gorgeous" Michelle Starr! (Starr, a legend of the Vancouver wrestling scene, is greeted mostly with cheers with a few boos mixed in) Alright, Mr. Starr, this is our first event for All Star Wrestling here at the PNE Forum and things have been looking good so far.
MICHELLE STARR: You know it, Scotty. The matches we've had here tonight have looked good, but nothing here's looked as good as I did in the ring and out of it in my prime! (Starr's comment draws a few cheers and chuckles from the fans)
SWEATERVEST: After tonight, I hear you have big things planned for All Star down the road.
STARR: Sure do, Scotty. We have an event planned for the near future to showcase the ladies of All Star Wrestling, a little something called Girls Gone Wrestling! (Some cheers from the crowd) Along with the local gals, we're hoping to book some of the big-name ladies of the sport to come join us for this show. We're also going to start holding tournaments to determine All Star's first titleholders in due time... (Before Starr can finish, the song "Woke Up This Morning" by A3, the theme from TV show The Sopranos, starts playing and moments later, The Racketeers' "Il Capo" Don Corleone strolls down to the ring. Fans in the crowd who remember Corleone from Pacific Coast Wrestling start booing right away, but Corleone ignores them as he steps into the ring and addresses Sweatervest)
DON CORLEONE: Okay, Sweatervest, what you need to do here now is what you do best, that's serve as a human mic stand while I speak to these imbecili in the audience. (The fans boo Corleone again) It's been a long time since I last set foot in a wrestling ring around these parts and I've been itching to shake off the ring rust and get back into competition around here. Matter of fact, me and my Racketeers partner Tony Valentino got a warmup in not long ago at Starrcade down in Los Angeles when we faced the American Wolves. Sure, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards are considered among the best teams in the world, but they barely even tested me and the Hitman at Starrcade. (Corleone is greeted by more boos, along with a "You suck!" chant from some fans) Now if you're wondering why I came here tonight, it's to seek some competition from whoever's in the locker room out back, and Starr, I want you to make that match.
STARR (taking Sweatervest's mic): Hold on now, Corleone. We all know you're here, but you haven't been booked to compete tonight.
CORLEONE: And that concerns me how, Starr? Look, I'll make this simple for you - book me a match for right here, right now, or I'll head over to the back and drag someone from the lockers into the ring and lay a beatdown on him on the spot. Take your pick, paisano. (Right then, "Let Me Clear My Throat" by DJ Kool started playing over the Forum's PA system as Kyle Sebastian stepped out from the locker room area, drawing a few cheers from the fans)
"IL CAPO" DON CORLEONE vs. KYLE SEBASTIAN
Sebastian made his way down to the ring after being called out by Corleone, but he barely had a chance to climb between the ropes to get into the ring before Corleone rushed over and ambushed him, then whipped him to the ropes for a clothesline attempt, but Sebastian ducked and dropkicked "Il Capo" on the rebound to get the upper hand. But Sebastian did not keep the advantage for long as he missed with an elbowdrop when Corleone rolled out in time. Corleone retook the advantage and after knocking Sebastian around for a minute or two, got his opponent in position, delivered a tombstone piledriver and made the cover, but purposely broke up the pin attempt at two when he grabbed Sebastian's hair and pulled him up, which earned Corleone a reprimand from referee Mike Edwards and some boos from the crowd. Moments later, Corleone scooped up Sebastian and powerslammed him, then pinned him at 2:27 for the victory. Right after that, Corleone got up and demanded the house mic, then told the crowd in attendance, "And that, paisanos, is how the Racketeers get the job done!", before dropping the mic and stepping through the ropes to stroll back to the dressing room amid more jeers.
DICK STARBUCK vs. DISCO FURY
After the popular Starbuck held the early advantage, Disco took over with a snap mare and elbowdropped his bigger opponent, then nailed Starbuck with a flying side kick and followed that with a double foot stomp off the second turnbuckle before a pin attempt, which Starbuck kicked out of at the one-count. Disco dropkicked Starbuck out of the ring and followed him to ringside, where the two combatants brawled around the ring and fought into the aisle, then back toward the ring. Urged on by the fans' chants for him, Starbuck turned the match around as he reversed a whip by Disco into the ringside railing, then tossed him back in the ring and climbed to the top turnbuckle to successfully execute his signature "Wipe Out" frog splash on Disco. Starbuck then signaled the crowd, who got to their feet with cheers as the California surfer put the "Hang Ten" standing surfboard on Disco in hopes of drawing a submission, which did not come thanks to Don Corleone running to the ring to make his presence felt again as he forearm smashed Starbuck from behind, causing referee Vern Siebert to call for the bell and disqualify Disco for outside interference at 22:40. Corleone threw Starbuck from the ring and went out after him, hitting him in the back with a chair shot and then whipping him into the railing before returning to the ring. Corleone soaked in the fans' boos and taunted them for a moment, but saw Starbuck throw a chair into the ring and decided not to stick around, jumping back out to ringside as an angry Starbuck came back in.
Corleone then taunted Starbuck as he backed slowly up the aisle toward the locker room area when Michelle Starr got into the ring with the house mic and got Corleone's attention. "Okay Corleone, you wanted some competition, you got it! I'm booking you to face Dick Starbuck here in this ring at the next PNE Forum event!" Starr's announcement drew cheers from the crowd, who wanted to see Starbuck get his revenge against the Racketeer for interfering in his match, but surprisingly, instead of getting angry about being made to face Starbuck, Corleone grinned and nodded his head slowly as he pointed at Starbuck, looking as though he may have something planned ahead for the next show when they step in the ring.
