Tryout Series
Newgen (Pinkie Sanchez and Rich Swann) vs Aeroform (Louis Lyndon and Flip Kendrick)
While Aeroform put up a good fight and impressed, this was largely a showcase for the reformed Newgen to display their talents, and both looked good as they look to do things the right way this time around. Sanchez dropped Lyndon with the Burning Snicklefritz before Swann hat an amazing Standing 450 to pin him for 3.
Winners- Newgen
Post match, Sanchez said that a new member of Newgen will be revealed tonight.
British Wrestling
Drew McIntyre vs Wade Barrett
Former partners collided here as McIntyre and Barrett never truly settled their differences back in NWA UK, and this one got really intense really quick as a result, being far from the pure British wrestling contest we were hoping for. In fact, before this match even reached the 5 minute mark, the referee lost control and the brawl took to the ringside area, resulting in the referee calling for a no contest.
Winner- No Contest
Barrett and McIntyre continued their brawl post match, brawling on the mat as officials ran in to stop them. before they did however, Sheamus "Fella" came out to a massive pop from the crowd, got a microphone and at the same time helped break up McIntyre and Barrett's brawl.
Sheamus: "Fellas, fellas, stop this. You don't have to fight, you see, I came to Hybrid Pro for a reason, that being to not just rebuild my career, but to help untie some of the best British wrestling talent in the world. Now I know you two fellas have had your problems, but united you were one of the best tag teams around, a team that never truly fulfilled its potential. And I want to see you two team again fella, united with me, the Guinness drinking, arse kicking former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, together we can be a real United Nations, and kick some real arse in Hybrid Pro. What do you say fellas, are you in?
Barrett and McIntyre still seem far from free of anger towards each other, but Barrett takes the microphone.
Barrett: Now Drew, I know that we've had our issues in the past, but if your in, then I'm in. You see I was forced in a comedy role in NWA UK, I was never taken seriously, and maybe thats what caused this tension to build. But since I left, I've found my edge again, I'm now much like Sheamus an ass kicking force once again, and Drew, I think we can make a real impact as a group. I'm willing to bury the hatchet if you are.
McIntyre contemplates this, and offers his hand to Barrett, who accept the handshake, and both shake hands with Sheamus to, meaning we have a new group in NWA Hybrid Pro, The United Nations, and these three will be very difficult to deal with.
Pure Wrestling
Damien Sandow vs Michael Shane
No pre-match promo from Sandow this week, instead he chose to rush out and attack Shane before the bell had even rung, attacking him with wild punches to take him down to the canvas, before posing and doing a cartwheel. Sandow controlled this for a brief spell before Shane fought back, throwing some big right hands of his own and taking to the air with a big Elbow Drop. He setup for the Sweet Shane Music, but Sandow avoided it, hat The Illumination and pinned Shane for 3.
Winner- Damien Sandow
Post match Sandow picked up Shane and delivered a second Illumination, before posing as he got booed massively by the fans.
Lucha Libre
Super Crazy vs La Sombra
What a great matchup this turned out to be, an utter showstealer as two of the best luchadors going today put on a lucha libre showcase that wowed everyone in attendance. Highlights included a huge Moonsault to the outside by Crazy, an impressive Imploding Senton by Sombra, and Crazy countering a Springboard Dragonrana from Sombra into the Crazy Bomb, which only got a 2 count. Crazy went for another Crazy Bomb to finish the match, but Sombra countered into a Hurricanrana, went up to and hat the Split-Legged Corkscrew Senton, and that kept Crazy down for long enough for Sombra to get the victory.
Winner- La Sombra
Grudge Match
The Rotundas (Bo Rotunda and "Husky" Harris Rotunda) vs Super Dragon and Kyle Matthews
The Rotundas have been a major thorn in the side of Super Dragon during the past couple of shows, and now Dragon has new backup in Kyle Matthews to help him combat The Rotundas. And Matthews got the hell beaten out of him for a lot of the match, taking a nasty double team attack from The Rotundas. He finally managed to escape and make a hot tag to Dragon who was a house on fire, destroying both Rotundas, then taking out his frustration on Husky as Matthews dove onto Bo on the outside. However the referee got bumped as Dragon was setting up for the Psycho Driver, and when Dragon hat the move there was no ref to count. Then Damien Sandow ran out, attacking Dragon and laying him out with The Illumination, and Husky rolled over to pin Dragon.
Winners- The Rotundas
Post match Sandow threw Husky a chair, which he smashed Dragon with not once, nor twice, but 3 times. Matthews tried to help, and was taking a beating from all 3 men, before Pinkie Sanchez and Rich Swann ran in to run off the 3 men.
Kyle Matthews was then revealed as the newest member of Newgen, as Dragon was attended to by officials and helped to the back. Next week, it will be Damien Sandow and The Rotundas taking on Newgen of Pinkie Sanchez, Rich Swann and Kyle Matthews!
If Cena Wins, He Gets A Heavyweight Title Match Next Week
Cibernetico vs John Cena
John Cena continues to look totally and utterly serious, he barely acknowledged the crowd and seemed totally un-intimidated by Cibernetico and his intimidating size and aura. Instead Cena tried to outbrawl and indeed outwrestle Cibernetico, which was no easy feat, and he matched up pretty well with the big man. However Cibernetico's power gave him a different kind of edge, combined with the fact he would do absolutely anything to keep Cena on the canvas. Cena began to fight back late on, and he was about ready to go for the STF, but Cibernetico rolled outside. Cena went after him, but it was a trap as Cibernetico utterly levelled him with a steel chair shot across the skull, causing an instant DQ.
Winner- John Cena by DQ
Cibernetico threw Cena back in the ring, got ready and as Cena got up, smashed him over the head again, and blood is pouring out of Cena's head like a faucet. Cibernetico then sets up the chair. GARRA CIBERNETICA THROUGH THE CHAIR! Cibernetico has utterly destroyed John Cena, he may not have won the match but it was clearly never his intention, he's hurt Cena badly and now he will have to wrestle either Shinsuke Nakamura or Jeff Hardy in a very weakened state.
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match, no Disqualification
The Jung Dragons (Jimmy Yang and Kaz Hayashi) vs Middle Aged and Crazy (Ace Steel and Chad Collyer)
While this has largely been a competitive rivalry, last week Middle Aged and Crazy took it one step too far by stealing The Jung Dragons Tag Team Titles, claiming that the belts were being handed on over to the real champions. This one was a wild brawl as a result, with the champions desperate to teach their opponents a lesson in respecting other people's property, but they did struggle against a team seasoned in wild brawls such as these as opposed to the junior heavyweight type matches you would expect of the Dragons. However in the end it was that brawling that cost the challengers, as when Steel went to use a chair on Hayashi, he missed and the chair bounced off the ropes, hitting him in the head. Hayashi followed this with the Final Cut onto the same chair, and that helped the champions retain the titles.
Winners- The Jung Dragons
The champions then looked to get their belts back, but Collyer had already grabbed them and was running up the ramp with both titles. Out of frustration, the Jung Dragon hat their Powerbomb/Inconoclasm combo on Steel
NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title Match
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Jeff Hardy
This was Nakamura's biggest title defence to date, as he was putting the belt on the line against a man who didn't just give him his first loss in Hybrid Pro last week, but pinned both he and John Cena at the same time clean in the middle of the ring. And Hardy looked as focused in this as he's looked in a long time, taking the fight to the Hybrid Pro Champion and hitting him with all he had. In fact Hardy actually had this match won, hitting the Twist of Fate and following it up with the Swanton, but he got cocky and said he'd go for one more. He went up top and went for it, but Nakamura moved out of the way and Hardy crashed to the canvas. Nakamura quickly followed this up with the Bona Ye, and Hardy went down for the 3 count.
Winner- Shinsuke Nakamura
Nakamura celebrated post match, but his celebration did not last long, as Cibernetico attacked him from behind and dropped him with the Garra Cibernetica. He quickly got the microphone.
Cibernetico: Phase 2 of my plan is all but destined to be completed. No matter who wins between you Nakamura and John Cena, my victory is all but assured. But I want to take my victory in the big stage, at a show where I can move that one step closer to the digital era, and show as many people as possible how the very foundations of the industry will be changed. Thats why I will challenge for the Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title at the NWA Great American Bash. On July 22nd, The Antichrists will reign supreme!
Darkness fills the arena barring a spotlight on Cibernetico, as he poses to massive boos from the fans to end the show.
