OOC: Finally got enough free time to get this sucker wrote up. Parade Of Champions will be up as soon as possible, guys!
This match wasn’t too bad, actually. After a brief feeling-out period, these two teams tore into each other, and demonstrated some pretty good tag team work, but in the end, The Texas Outlaws proved to be too much for the Border Runners. The end came in 15:20 when Mean Mark Green connected with a superkick to the jaw of Pavel Landis for the win.
Match Rating: 57 (out of 100)
*scene opens with a panoramic shot of downtown Dallas, then zooms in on the Dallas Convention Center Arena. We head inside to a jam-packed house, and make our way to ringside and Kurt Berkely.*
Kurt Berkely: Good evening wrestling fans, and welcome to World Class Championship Wrestling! A new era has begun, as now World Class Championship Wrestling is under the auspices of the Texas Wrestling League! And tonight we are crowning the first ever TWL Heavyweight Champion and TWL Tag Team Champions. And on that note, let’s head down to ringside and the first match of the evening.
This was the TWL debut of the Lords of War, and they seemed to draw the short straw, facing the team of Matt Krogan and Johnny Boy Tucker. To their credit, though, they took it to Krogan and Tucker, keeping things interesting until Krogan and Tucker nailed Warlord Agony with a double Lariat in 18:20 to seal the deal. Professor Nero, the Lords of War handler, wasn’t too happy with them, and gave them hell after the match was over.
Match Rating: 50 (out of 100)
Two Eagles came out first, to a mixed reaction. Bowman, on the other hand, got a thunderous pop, as he climbed the ring and flipped off the cameras, then started tossing beers to the very appreciative crowd!
Once the bell rang, though, the war was on. Bowman backed Two Eagles into the corner, then put the boots to him. Two Eagles reversed him, and then laid a series of thunderous chops into Bowman’s chest. Two Eagles then threw him into the ropes, and as Bowman came out of the ropes, Two Eagles wound up and nailed Bowman with a thunderous Tomahawk to the top of the head! Bowman went down, Two Eagles made the cover, and this one was over at the 9:30 mark!
Match Rating: 54 (out of 100)
After the match, TWL CEO Jonathan Darkstar came out and made the announcement that both the TWL Heavyweight and TWL Tag Team Titles would be crowned, TONIGHT!!! Chief Two Eagles would meet the winner of the Pat Deacon/Rip Chord match, and that Master and Apprentice would meet the winners of the Team Texas and Texas Outlaws match, which was NEXT!!!
This was one hell of a match! These two teams know each other well, and pulled out all the stops! It kinda dragged in the middle, though. The Trailer Park Kid outmaneuvered the Lone Star Stampeder with a flying dropkick in 17:20 to win this one and advance the Texas Outlaws to the championship match.
Match Rating: 59 (out of 100)
Some people are calling Rip Chord the next Ric Flair, and we got a peek at the technical brilliance this man has, as he flat-out countered everything deacon threw at him, finally putting him away with the Figure Four in 7:50.
Match Rating: 72 (out of 100)
This one was for all the marbles, and these two teams knew it! It started out with the two younger men, Kid and Tucker, showcasing their aerial skills, then Green and Krogan got into the ring, and the heavy hits started flying! Krogan made a mistake, trying to dropkick Green, and Green made him pay for it by hitting a DDT in 25:00 to win this match and the titles!
WINNER OF THE MATCH, AND NEW TWL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE TEXAS OUTLAWS!!!
Match Rating: 64 (out of 100)
In a show of true class, Krogan and Tucker helped put the belts on the new champions!
This one could have been one for the ages, but Rip just plain out maneuvered Two Eagles at every turn. But, Two Eagles stayed right in there, rocking Chord with a series of chops to the chest that left Chord’s chest quite the lovely shade of red. Rip clipped Two Eagles’ knee while the referee was distracted, then locked on the Figure Four in 12:30 to win the match and the title!
WINNER OF THE MATCH, AND NEW TWL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: RIP CHORD!!!
Match Rating: 77 (out of 100)
Two Eagles had to be helped out of the ring, while Rip Chord strapped on the belt to a resounding chorus of boos.
OVERALL RATING: 58 (out of 100)
