King of the Ring Qualifying Match : Chris Jericho pinned The Miz with the Code Breaker in 09:17 after Randy Orton came to ringside.
- Probably one of the best matches both men have had in a long time.
- Each man was nearing victory, yet the other was able to turn the tide and fight back, drawing the fans one way, and then the other.
- Randy Orton was the deciding element in this match. While he didn't physically get involved, he caused enough of a distraction that allowed Jericho to hit his finisher and gain the win.
Interview with Alberto Del Rio : Del Rio came out and said that hew was NOT going to wrestle tomorrow night at King of the Ring. He siad he would be there, but as Champion, he was NOT going to wrestle. Tommy Dreamer came out and said that he WOULD be wrestling! ADR refuted that claim by saying that as Champion, he can pick his opponent and... Dreamer cut him off and told him to be ready to either wrestle tomorrow night, or hand over the CPW Championship! ADR was livid as Dreamer left the stage area!
King of the Ring Qualifying Match : Shelton Benjamin and Jack Swagger defeated Christian and Matt Morgan when Shelton Benjamin pinned Christian with the T-Bone in 04:43.
- Perhaps the best 'wrestling team' in the NWA today, (if they were teaming up) out wrestled the veterans in Christian and Morgan.
- Swagger and Benjamin were just to much on the mat, hardly giving their opponents an opportunity to even get going.
- In the end, a crucial mis-communication between Christian and Morgan allowed Swagger to sacrifice himself by take Morgan up and over the top ropes allowed Benjamin the opportunity to nail Christian with the T-Bone to gain the win.
King of the Ring Qualifying Match : Kofi Kingston defeated Jim Powers via pin fall in 01:59.
- Kofi was all over this match, and he wanted to end it fast.
- Powers looked to collect his second win ever in CPW, but fell short.... WAY short!
- Kofi was able to get the easy win off a skin kick out of the ropes to gain another point.
King of the Ring Qualifying Match : El Generico pinned Caprice Coleman with the Brainbustah in 09:34.
- Neither man came into this match looking down the road. Both knew that this could put them into or keep them out of the King of the Ring.
- While Coleman did pout up a good fight, in the end, it was the experience of El Generico that was the real factor in the match.
- One has to wonder, if Coleman's wins so far in CPW were flukes, or if Coleman just had a bad night tonight?
Interview with The Miz : The Miz said that what Orton did was it. Not only was it a Falls Count Anywhere Match, it would be the last time that the CPW would see one or the other of them! The Miz said that he went to CPW Director Eric Biscoff and Enforcer Tommy Dreamer and asked that the match be a Falls Count Anywhere, Last Man Standing, Loser Leaves CPW Match... and his wish was granted! Tmorrow at King of the Ring, only the storngest would servive! The Miz said that while Orton is a great wrestler and athlete... he simply isn't.... AAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
King of the Ring Qualifying 8 Man Tag Team Match : Chris Masters, Damien Sandow, Kyle Matthews and Paul Burchill defeated Chris Jericho, Alex Riley, Evan Sydal and Matt Hardy when Burchill pinned Matt Hardy with the Dangerous Buster in 16:55.
- Adam Pearce was absent from the CPW portion of the match, and it looked like it would be a 4 on 3 match, but Chris Jericho pulled double duty and filled in.
- This was an all out, non-stop action packed, war between the CPW talents and the talents from Hybrid Pro, Windy City and NWA East.
- In the end, with nearly every one winded, knocked out or battling in the ringside area, Burchill grabbed the dazed Hardy and hit his Dangerous Buster to secure the win for the visiting 'team'.
Promo for Hirooki Goto's Exhibition Match at King of the Ring
One on One Match : Cliff Compton pinned Sabian with the Media Blitz in 06:43.
- Cliff made his in ring CPW debut tonight, much like MNM from years past had, with the red carpet and paparazzi. He had a cell phone in hand and was tweeting his debut, step by step for his 'fans'.
- As the match got going, Cliff would stop and upload a photo of him holding a dazed Sabian, and upload straight to his Facebook and Twitter pages via his HTC Salsa phone.
- His arrogance nearly cost him, as Sabian mounted a brief comeback, but Compton came back and ended it with his Media Blitz to seal the deal on his debut!
Pre-taped interview with Randy Orton and Kurt Angle : Orton came in first and said that he is glad Miz's wish was granted. It will be the last time that the CPW fans have to see his ugly mug on thier televisions or in thier arena's. Orton said that at King of the Ring, all hell would break loose and at the end of the night, The Miz would be distant memory in the minds of the CPW fans! Angle then came in and told Orton not to look past tonight. Angle said that while this could be one of Ortons' last matches, Angle won't let up on him. Angle said that he will bring it, full steam and will push Orton to the limit. Orton told Angle that win or lose, Angle will know he was in a fight!
King of the Ring Qualifying Match : Kurt Angle pinned Randy Orton after a German suplex in 05:18 after The Miz interfered against Randy Orton.
- A battle that has raged before, and will like rage at least once more.
- Both men gave it all they had, move for move, counter for counter, finisher for finisher. In the end, It was the Miz who caused the end for Orton, only intensifying the hatred between the two for their upcoming match at King of the Ring!
- After the match Cliff Compton and Adam Pearce attacked Kurt Angle until Jack Swagger made the save.
Non-Title Triple Treat Tag Team Match : Money Inc. (Ted DiBiase and Robert Roode) defeated The Faces of Fear (Mark Henry and Samoa Joe) and The Perfectionists (Dolph Ziggler and Joe Hennig) when Ted DiBiase pinned Joe Hennig after a crucifix in 11:06.
- The Champs pretty much played the match to their advantage, keeping the FoF at by by keeping Ziggler and Henning in the match, but if by chance Henry or Joe was tagged int, they bailed.
- At one point, it was Henry vs Joe, off of tags by Roode and Hennig, and these two men 'belted' it out for a few moments, before tagging in both members of Money inc, then started pounding away at them until one man tagged out.
- The action was pretty good, with each team getting a good amount of ring time. In the end, it looked like the FoF had the match won until Roode made the blind tag on Joe and pined the dazed Henning, thoroughly infuriating Joe and Henry!
