NWA Hybrid Pro TV 25/08/2012
The Jung Dragons (Jimmy Yang and Kaz Hayashi) vs The Showstealers (Michael Shane and Joey Matthews)
The way The Showstealers reformed was hardly honourable, but at the same time the reformation of one of the best tag teams of recent years has caused some excitement amongst Hybrid Pro fans and critics alike. And they didn't look like they'd lost a step, matching another great team in The Jung Dragons move for move, both in terms of their high flying skill and in terms of double teams. The Jung Dragons run of bad luck continued as they lost their 3rd match in as many weeks, as Shane hat a Superkick on Hayashi which Matthews followed up with the Double Underhook DDT to get the 3 count.
Winners- The Showstealers
European Rules Match
Chad Collyer vs Charlie Haas
This maybe wasn't the exact rule format of your traditional European Rules match, as the round system was abandoned in favour of 2 out of 3 falls, but the rest of the rules were intact the best they could and it worked well between these two purists. The first fall was fairly even, as the two largely looked to outwrestle each other on the mat, also finding counters to the counters that the two came up with last week and building upon what they learned about each other the previous 2 weeks. Collyer managed to sneak in a rollup with a handful of trunks to get the first fall, as the ref did not spot it. The second fall saw Haas get a bit more aggressive, as he had to or risk losing the match, and eventually he made Collyer tap to the Haas of Pain. The final fall got very exciting as both men were desperate to win the series, and the reversal and counter wrestling got quicker, yet there were mistake there to caused by the sheer desperation to win the match. Finally Haas revered a waistlock into one of his own and nailed a German Suplex, and that was enough to secure the victory for him.
Winner- Charlie Haas
Kyle Matthews vs La Parka
Something seemed a tad off about La Parka from the beginning, not only did he not wrestle like the La Parka we all know, but he didn't have the same build, in fact he looked a lot taller than he did last week. Matthews came in expecting to try and outwrestle his more aerial opponent, and instead found himself being overpowered and being more than evenly matched on the mat. Parka went for what looked like a Doctor Bomb, but Matthews countered it into the Hidaka Lock! Parka threw him off and then kicked him in the balls, and thats an instant DQ!
Winner- Kyle Matthews by DQ
Parka quickly picked up Matthews and hat a Doctor Bomb, something's not right here. Parka is now taking off his mask, what the hell? ITS JACK SWAGGER! Swagger is with The Antichrists, whats his reason behind joining them, this doesn't make any sense to me. It looks like Swagger is about to explain as Cibernetico makes his way to the ring applauding.
Swagger: Hey Pinkie Sanchez, remember me? For those of you who weren't around in the days of the WWA, allow me to explain. You see Sanchez loves to take credit for being the man behind The Revolution, the man who formed the original group. Thats bullshit, because it wasn't you at all, it was me, I was the one who brought The Revolution together! I was the one who saw the potential in Johnny Gargano to breakout at the top level, I was the one who saw Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly as future World Tag Team Champions, and I was the one who once saw an ounce of potential in you, what a fool I was. And after all the disrespect you showed for what I created, its time to kill off your creation Newgen once and for all. Sanchez, at Faction Warfare this Sunday, it'll be you and me one on one, and when I beat you and The Antichrists wipe the floor with you, you'll have no choice but to disband your pathetic Revolution rip-off once and for all!
Cibernetico raises Swagger's hand as the fans boo, well at least Swagger seems to have a pretty valid reason for being against Newgen. Who will win the Pinkie Sanchez vs Jack Swagger match?
Faction Warfare Preview #1
The Group (Damien Sandow, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, James Storm and John Morrison) vs The United Nations (Sheamus "Fella", Drew McIntyre, Wade Barrett, Paul Burchill and Harry Smith)
The first of two big multi man tag matches to showcase all the talent on display in faction warfare, this was as crazy a match as you would expect. Sandow wanted no part of Burchill, refusing to tag in anytime he was in there and getting the hell out of there if Burchill tried to get at him. Meanwhile Orton and Wyatt had some fun battles with the tag champs McIntyre and Barrett to preview their match, Sheamus and Storm looked good in their exchanges, and that left Morrison and Smith as the remaining two who will wrestle at Faction Warfare as they also looked good in their battles. Finally Burchill got Sandow in there and went for the C4, but Orton attacked from behind, sneaking a Low Blow in and hitting the RKO, as Sandow pinned him and got the 3 count, wow!
Winners- The Group
Sandow celebrated the win like he had won the World Series, even doing a few cartwheels, but little did he know that Burchill had made it back to his feet fairly quickly. C4 TO SANDOW! The Group head for the hills as Burchill vows to annihilate Sandow at Faction Warfare.
Faction Warfare Preview #2
Newgen (Pinkie Sanchez, Rich Swann, Kota Ibushi and Matt Sydal) vs The Antichrists (Jon Moxley, Jeff Hardy, La Sombra and Shinsuke Nakamura)
The addition of Matt Sydal to Newgen in place of the injured Mason Andrews is definitely another masterstroke by Pinkie Sanchez, as Newgen looked stronger than ever. But they were facing a very dangerous challenge, as Moxley and Nakamura alone were enough to keep the majority of Newgen at bay, not to mention Hardy and Sombra who can get violent when they want to and are willing to die for their cause. This one started to get really wild toward the end, it turned into a 4 on 4 brawl effectively and the referee lost control. Finally when weapons started getting involved the ref had no option but to call for the bell and declare it a no contest.
Winners- No Contest
The brawl only continued to get wilder and wilder as officials and road agents ran out to try and break this thing up. Faction Warfare is going to be a crazy show if its anything like this next week!
NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title Match
Cibernetico (c) vs Johnny Gargano
Gargano is finally getting his shot at the Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title that he earned after winning the Sunrise Cup a few weeks ago, but in Cibernetico he was facing an almost unstoppable foe, who has only been pinned once since Hybrid Pro opened. Gargano however had a very smart strategy going into this, that being to move fast and target the right leg of Cibernetico, in order to take the monster off his feet and onto the mat where he could outwrestle him and wear him down. It proved effective, but Cibernetico's power was something else and Gargano couldn't keep him down for long, at times there was simply nothing he could do.
This match was to take a very dramatic twist however. Cibernetico "accidentally" caught the referee with a Clothesline, and signalled to the crowd as Gargano tried to get back to his feet. A masked man came out from the fans, attacked Gargano and dropped him with an Olympic Slam, as Cibernetico setup for the Garra Cibernetica. The masked man takes off his mask to reveal....HIROOKI GOTO, GOTO HAS JOINED THE ANTICHRISTS! Cibernetico nails the Garra Cibernetica as the referee gets revived by Goto, 1-2-3, Cibernetico retains!
Winner- Cibernetico
The fans are beginning to reach riot levels of hate to The Antichrists as Gargano has been screwed over by Hirooki Goto and The Antichrists. They aren't done yet though as they look to take out Gargano for good with a 2 on 1 beatdown. BUT HERE COMES JOHN CENA, JOHN CENA IS BACK! Cena looks even more cold and emotionless than he did the last time he was here, as he runs in and nails the Attitude Adjustment on Goto!
The rest of The Antichrists run out, and are soon followed by the rest of Newgen as a crazy brawl breaks out for the second week in a row, there is just no way of controlling this insanity!
As the brawling breaks out into the ringside area and backstage, left in the ring are Jack Swagger and Johnny Gargano. Gargano looks wary of his former team mate, but Swagger isn't attacking. He backs off, saying "I haven't got anything against you, my problem is with Newgen" and leaves as Gargano looks on confused. Why didn't Swagger attack? And why didn't Gargano do the same? Is Gargano in cahoots with The Antichrists, or are Gargano and Swagger still allies? We have a lot of unanswered questions here heading into Faction Warfare, we will see you next then folks!
