Note: This is a fun little project for me, I dunno why but I remember putting in my WCW vs. The World Nintendo 64 cartridge and playing in the Independent Union arena. So all these years later I still remember how fun it was. I'm a wrestling writer so I'm going to write as if I was the booker, I've added some characters and if you read the shows on the old boards I've rehashed a little just do I can hopefully continue past two shows on these boards. If you're reading this I hope you enjoy the Independent Union!
The black screen flickers with life as the camera pans around a camping fire, with Shaman chanting something in his native tongue. He looks to be in pain as the images dance behind his eyelids.
Shaman: Tonight I see... blood... rivers of blood. I see betrayal, and pasts coming back to haunt. Stars will rise tonight, and some will acheive greatness but nothing lasts forever. In the coming weeks I see rivals raging wars, tonight begins events that will echo through the Union for a very long time...
The fire shoots up until it's all the camera can see as the show opens.
The Unknown is a luchadore that is having a hard time getting his footing in japan as he faces off against an animal in Abispa. Both men work off of a submission based style so they both tried to make the other submit, but stayed leary of being submitted themselves. Abispa would skulk around like a wolf trying to take down his pray, but Unknown is resilent and would show off his lucha skills with beautiful arm drags that eventually forced Abispa to slide to the outside. But the Unknown would run up the turnbuckle closest to Abispa leaping through the air and catching Abispa with another arm drag! Unknown followed up with a springboard cross body off the security rail only to get caught by Abispa and driven spine first into the turnbuckle before Abispa would dump Unknown into the first row. The crowd was ushered back by Abispa who would climb onto the apron, stalking his prey, Unknown was only on his feet a few seconds before Abispa would come off the apron with a somersault senton sending both men into chairs making a violent collision! Abispa tried for a butterfly suplex but Unknown was able to fight free of it and backdrop Abispa onto the hardwood floor before picking up a chair and throwing it down on top of him before hitting a moonsault off another chair nearby driving his knees painfully into the chair. Unknown hobbled himself, and Abispa sensing his opponent was wounded found a second wind fighting with the Unknown towards the ring where Abispa opened up his animalisitic arsenal of holds, snapping off a dragon screw legwhip, followed by a butterfly suplex and finally slapping on the anaconda vice forcing Unknown to submit. Winner: Abispa
Dragon King came up as an extremely promising student from a certain wrestlers dojo, while Specter is a former american MMA fighter whos passion for wrestling took over and now he's using his skills to try to make his way to the Independent Crown. Specter used his lethal and I mean lethal kicks to try to knot up the legs of Dragon King who did his best to avoid lightning fast kicks, but ended up taking more than a few before finally catching the leg of Specter who tried to hit an enziguri but ended up missing, Specter tried for the rebound kick but King ducked it as well and finally made Specter pay with a spinning heel kick to the jaw! Dragon King followed up with a beautiful dropkick before trying for the Dragon sleeper but Specter was able to get to the ropes to keep himself from harm. Dragon started throwing brutal kicks of his own leaving welts on the chest of Specter who tried showing his toughness by absorbing everything King would throw at him, King got frustrated nailing Specter with a pair of chops that only rocked Specter who smirked, but quickly got put on his ass when Dragon scored with a roaring elbow! Dragon King tried for the pin but only got a near fall, Specter tried to turn the tide with a kimora but King was able to get a foot on the rope to break the hold before getting his arm broken. Specter slapped on a front face lock, driving his knee into the head of Dragon who was able to catch the foot of Specter again snapping off a dragon leg whip. Dragon King followed up with a huge running powerbomb bouncing both men off the mat, before signalling that the match is over! King waited for Specter to get to his feet so he can snap off a dragon suplex, but Jaguar hopped into the ring spinning King around and driving him into the mat with the Tiger Driver '91! Jaguar slipped out of the ring watching as Specter would try to stand but collapse onto Dragon King for the win. Winner: Specter
Heretic and Scourge have absolutely no respect for anyone, Scourge even spit on a fan on his way to the ring as Heretic carried himself like he was god's gift. Shaolin asked to start this one getting into the face of Scourge, Scourge said something and smirked at Shaolin who reprised with a vicious open hand slap to the face knocking spit and a wad of gum out of the mouth of Scourge who stopped smiling as a hand print formed on his face. Scourge would stomp the foot of Shaolin and drag him with a headlock over to Heretic where both men were able to pick apart Shaolin with brutal surgerical efficency. Heretic seemed to be the man encharge on his team as it's apparent he'll be a guy challenging for the Independent Crown much sooner than later as he plyed his craft with little emotion, but focusing on putting Shaolin through as much hell as possible before tagging Scourge back in. Scourge ended up getting cocky allowing Shaolin to score with some brutal forearm shots as he fought his way back into the match hitting his finishing move, Angel's wings! Shaolin was only able to score a two count before Scourge kicked out but Shaolin was in the drivers seat as he started to perform a praying ropewalk, tagging out to Hannibal just before coming off the rope and dropping a huge chop on the tensed elbow of Scourge! Hannibal continued to assault by leaping to the top rope and hitting a missle dropkick! Hannibal is a gifted and wild high flyer who is constantly moving as he came off the ropes with a springboard leg lariat to a seated scourge following that up with a rolling thunder! Heretic came in to halp his partner ripping Hannibal away who staggered into the corner where the vicious and beautiful Black Widow slithered up and slapped him in a painful tarantula hold! Shaolin tried to get involved but got double teamed badly and Heretic was able to hit him with a violent glimmering warlock, as Black Widow released Hannibal from her grasp, letting him walk right into the Schwein from Scourge giving his team the victory. Winners: Heretic & Scourge
The show cuts to the locker room of Dragon King who still looks to be suffering after the brutal Tiger driver '91 at the hands of Jaguar, local sports photo journalists snap away pictures of Dragon King who is crying and screaming loudly over the betrayal of his former childhood friend. The announcer informs you that Dragon King and Jaguar grew up together but when it came to which school to train, King went to one and Jaguar ended up going to the rival school destroying their long standing friendship.
As long as there has been an Independent Union these two men have been at war. Black Ninja represents the heart of the Independent Union, he's the poster boy for the promotion while Overdose is the enbodiment of evil. Overdose showed off his black belt in karate, but Black Ninja is full of suprises as he hit avoided kicks from Overdose and cartwheeled away only to rebound of the ropes scoring with a back elbow, coming off the ropes soon after with a lionsault for a near fall. Overdose was shocked by the ferocity of his long time enemy but quickly shook it off as he drug the match into his realm crawling out of the ring, where Ninja would follow, only to take a chair to the midsection. Overdose loves to inflict pain pulling out a roll of barbed wire that was being saved for the deathmatch main event. Overdose would unroll the barbed wire stomping on Black Ninja a few times keeping him down before throwing the roll into the ring as it unraveled. Overdose would follow the roll into the ring stringing it around like hell's christmas lights making the ring a death trap. Black Ninja was a bit hurt from the exchange on the outside, trying to get in the ring only to have Overdose cut him off hitting a suspension DDT into the ring and onto some of the wire! Black Ninja was able to kick out but barely as Overdose looked completely in control of the aerial ace! Overdose used knee drops on Black Ninja over and over and over! Black Ninja looked to be doomed but was able to slip away and explode with a leaping side kick! Black Ninja looked to get fired up, picking up and nailing Overdose with his Shuriken bomb(Fire Thunder bomb)! Overdose was able to kick out and Black Ninja tried to powerbomb him again but Overdose was able to spin around and almost kill Ninja with a reverse hurrincanrana! It was Ninja's turn to shock as he kicked out after a two count! The match continued with both men looking worn out and Overdose tried to use Poison mist but Black Ninja kicked him under the jaw forcing Overdose's mist to spray harmlessly in the air, Overdose tried to catch Black Ninja a few moments later with the 720 DDT but Ninja caught him with a roundhouse kick putting Overdose down hard, before Ninja snapped off another Shuriken bomb this one would give him the win. Winner: Black Ninja
Prior to this match the ropes were taken down and replaced with barbed wire, staff members would strap light tubes to the wire in a few places making the ring into a brutal warzone, sliding a bed of broken glass into a nuetral corner of the ring. Claw is an absolute monster, looking like a movie slasher, while his opponent tonight Powder Keg is so vicious in the ring that he was black listed from the american indy scene forcing him to wrestle here in Japan. Powder Keg brought a chair into the ring and Claw let him have a free shot! Powder Keg nailed Claw with the chair only to have it dent but Claw stayed standing and before Keg could swing again Claw would punch the chair back into the face of Keg busting his lip in the process.Powder Keg would unfasten a pair of light tubes smashing them both in quick succession over the head of Claw who would only stagger before ramming his knee into the gut of Powder Keg following up with a clubbing blow to the spine that would put Keg on his knees! Claw used headbutts on Keg using the shards of glass from the light tubes stuck in the mask as a weapon. These two behemoths nearly weigh 600lbs. combined and when tied up looked like a pair of bull elephants. Powder Keg was able to slam Claw to the canvas with a belly to belly suplex but Claw didn't stay down long! Keg used another light tube on claw this time targetting his exposed back drawing blood from the monster. Keg tried for one of his finishing moves, the backdrop driver but to his horror only got a two count! Claw used more brutal headbutts but Keg was able to pick up Claw and run him into the barbed wire ropes, as both men tumbled over the ropes and through a ringside table! The crowd collectively gasped as both men continued to fight on the outside with Keg hitting another belly to belly on Claw this time onto a pile of light tubes! Keg was up as fast as he could going for a pair of buckets, climbing into the ring Keg poured out one bucket... a million thumbtacks glistened as they fell to the canvas in a mound as Keg sat the second bucket down and waited for Claw who walked right into a spinebuster on the tacks! Powder Keg emptied the second bucket onto Claw.... salt! This was the first time that the Claw actually cried out in pain even through all the carnage as Keg went for the pin but the salt in Claws wounds just made him hysterical pushing off Keg after only a one and a half count! Claw came roaring after Powder Keg with headbutt after headbutt finally locked on his claw hold! Baron von Rashke would have been proud as Claw would squeeze the head of Keg violently before picking him up and slamming him onto the thumbtacks holding him down by his face as the ref counted to three ending this horrific match.
