Still catching up, but almost there now, I'll have the results for this weeks show out in a few days and then I should be back to where I should be.
NWA Hybrid Pro TV Results 22/09/2012
The Antichrists, complete with their newest member "The Baddest Man on the Planet" Brock Lesnar, make their way out as the arena plunges into darkness. 5 green spotlights highlight the men in the ring, as Cibernetico has something to say.
Cibernetico: Last week, the latest phase of the move to the Digital Era was completed, that being the most destructive man to ever set foot in a wrestling ring joined us. He truly is the baddest man on the planet, and will help us to dominate like never before. He is Brock Lesnar!
Lesnar raises his arms as the fans boo.
Cibernetico: Now tonight I plan on taking care of business by finishing off Jack Swagger, Jon Moxley is going to help me come up with a foolproof strategy to win, while Hirooki Goto and Shinsuke Nakamura are going to take care of business against Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly. But that laves Brock Lesnar without an opponent. Thats why after some persuasion, I have managed to find a suitable opponent for him. Get out here!
Out comes AR Fox, looking more than a little scared, and for good reason, he is a junior heavyweight and Lesnar is one of the most dominant heavyweights in wrestling history.
"The Baddest Man on the Planet" Brock Lesnar vs AR Fox
Fox tried his best here, but he was utterly no match for the raw power of Lesnar, who tossed him around with considerable ease. After a brutal Triple Powerbomb and some nasty Rib Breakers, Lesnar threw up Fox for the F5 and nailed it, thankfully ending it. RIP AR Fox.
Winner- Brock Lesnar
Lesnar and the rest of The Antichrists as the arena again plunges into darkness, outside of the green spotlights, and if this is any evidence Lesnar is going to be very difficult for anyone to stop.
Jay Lethal vs "The Man Beast" Rhino
Both these men have struggled to find a permanent home or a niche in any promotion in the NWA in recent times, now they are both in Hybrid Pro and looking to make an impact. This was a fun match, with both men working hard looking to impress in their debuts, as Rhino looked to destroy Lethal with his power and intensity and Lethal looking to outspeed and outwrestle Rhino. In the end, Rhino's power was too much for Lethal, as he fell to the GORE!!!!!
Winner- Rhino
We go backstage to where James Storm is sitting, with a thoughtful look on his face.
Storm: Last week I came this close to being the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion. I pushed CM Punk to his very limits, but in the end I saw first hand why he is the Best in the World. And while I lost, it made me realise that while I've had a lot of bad luck, my career in the NWA isn't over yet. I have a lot of work to do, and I want to prove myself again, working my way up until I can face the World champion again. Starting next week, I'm going to take on all challengers, try and get an undefeated streak together, and then when its all said and done and I'm the World Heavyweight Champion, well champ, sorry about your damn luck!"
Paul Burchill vs Samuray Del Sol
You would think that Del Sol would have gotten destroyed in a similar fashion to Jeff Hardy, but he didn't, instead he proved to be a bit more difficult for Burchill to handle thanks to his speed and all the risks he was willing to take. Indeed had it not been for Burchill's power, he could have been in a lot of trouble. However in the end Burchill did manage to come out on top again and looked very good in doing so considering he had to work hard for the win, nailing a C4 that saw Del Sol almost land on his head and snap his neck, which easily got the 3 count.
Winner- Paul Burchill
Burchill then went up to the camera again and said " Takashi Sugiura, why won't you answer my challenge? Are you scared? If you don't then maybe I'll have to go over there and punish you until you do".
Damien Sandow comes out to the ring, accompanied by two large, muscular men, who appear to be bodyguards. Sandow gets a microphone.
Sandow: Unenlightened masses, if you can stop rolling in your own filth for just one moment, I have something important that I wish to discuss with you.
The fans boo Sandow, and he doesn't seem to care, if anything revelling in the boos.
Sandow: Randy Orton, I've tried to discuss our issues like intellectuals would, and yet you refuse to listen to reason. You seem obsessed with hurting me, despite the fact I have no done a single thing to gain your anger other than be better than you in every possible way. Indeed I think the only reason you are attacking me every week is pure jealousy, your jealous that I am enlightened and intelligent, more so than you could ever possibly dream of being. Thats why I have done two things.
Sandow takes out a piece of paper.
Sandow: The first thing I have done is I have taken out a restraining order against you. Come within 20 feet of me Orton and your going to jail. Secondly, if you do somehow manage to get within 20 feet of me, my personal bodyguards will ensure you never walk again. Your welcome!
Sandow poses, BUT RANDY ORTON COMES OUT FROM UNDER THE RING WITH A PIPE! He nails the first guard with the pipe! RKO to the second guard!
Orton eyes up Sandow, ripping up the restraining order, but Sandow has the pipe! He nails Orton over the head with it! Sandow dusts himself down, and cartwheels before posing, finally having one upped Orton, albeit he needed a pipe to do it.
The Stampede Bulldogs (Harry Smith and Tyson Kidd) vs The United Nations (Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett) vs The Token Black Team (ACH and Rich Swann)
The Token Black Team are the NWA's newest tag team, but don't let their name fool you, they were all business in there, taking a lot of risks and holding their own with two experienced tag teams thanks to that high flying skill of theirs. This differentiated from the styles of their opponents, as The Bulldogs were more mat based in their approach, looking to ground both of the opposing teams, while The United Nations took a more brawling type approach, with Barrett and McIntyre just trying to knock out their opponents any way they could. And it was The United Nations who came out on top here, as McIntyre nailed the Future Shock on Swann to pin him for the 3 count.
Winners- The United Nations
As a result of this win, The United Nations will receive their rematch for the NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Titles next week on Hybrid Pro TV.
The Antichrists (Hirooki Goto and Shinsuke Nakamura) vs The Revolution (Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly)
Goto and Nakamura have become close allies in The Antichrists, if only due to being the only Japanese wrestlers in the group, and their experience definitely helped them out in this match. They did however not have the level of team work and fluidity of Cole and O'Reilly, the former NWA World Tag Team Champions, who looked as sharp as they ever have. Cole got isolated for a brief period by Goto and Nakamura, but managed to escape and tag O'Reilly who cleaned house on both his opponents. Jon Moxley then ran out and grabbed O'Reilly for a charge by Nakamura, but Nakamura missed and hat Moxley! O'Reilly locks in the Anklelock, and Nakamura taps, O'Reilly makes the former 2 time WWA World Heavyweight Champion tap out!
Winners- The Revolution
Cibernetico comes out and argues with Nakamura post match, but before things get too heated Moxley steps in and points the finger gun at Cibernetico, again saying if Nakamura goes, he goes. Cibernetico backs off again, but still seems to be far from pleased at Nakamura.
Sheamus "Fella" makes his way to the ring to a big ovation from the fans, microphone in one hand, Guinness in the other. He toasts the fans before getting to what he has to say.
Sheamus: Last week, I had a good match with a man I consider to be an equal in the ring with, a man who I have a lot of respect for and I consider to be one of the more underrated wrestlers in the NWA, that man being John Cena. But last week after I beat him, and offered him a Guinness, he turned it down and walked out on me fella. I don't have any problems with you John, and I don't know what I've done to annoy ya, but what I'd like to do is to invite you down to the ring fella, we can talk this out and be buddies again. What do ya say fella?
After a small delay John Cena walks down to the ring, serious as ever, not a single bit of emotion on his face. Sheamus offers him a bottle of Guinness, and Cena just looks annoyed. However he takes the bottle of Guinness from Sheamus, and all appears to be well, as a beer bash is about to begin! CENA SMASHES THE BOTTLE OVER SHEAMUS'S HEAD! Cena chucks the remains to the ground as Sheamus is busted open, and the fans boo. Cena leaves, just as coldly as he entered, with Sheamus rolling on the canvas in agony from the cut on his head. This one just got heated in a big way!
Cibernetico vs Jack Swagger
There was no sign of either man's team mates in this one, it was instead a pure fight between two heavyweights who don't like each other. It was indeed a grudge match to with Swagger being a former Antichrist, who helped towards costing Cibernetico his digital dream at Faction Warfare. Cibernetico is closer than ever now to achieving his plans however, and it was his newest Antichrist that would ultimately help him to come out victorious. As Cibernetico distracted the referee, Brock Lesnar ran down and attacked Swagger, delivering a huge F5! Cibernetico then picked up Swagger by the throat, and nailed the Garra Cibernetica which got him the 3 count.
Winner- Cibernetico
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match
The Showstealers (Michael Shane and Joey Matthews) vs The Worlds Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin)
The Worlds Greatest Tag Team earned this shot by way of defeating the former champions The United Nations last week, a team who will face the winners of this match next week after winning the contenders match earlier in the show. And it was another great tag team title defence by The Showstealers, with both teams crisp, fast paced team work meshing well, and indeed the fluid mat wrestling that was on display to. There was no doubt that TWGTT were the better mat wrestlers here, but The Showstealers were faster, and were willing to take more risks to try and come out on top. Indeed The Showstealers had that high risk to thank as it was what won them the match, as they nailed the Showstealing Double Elbow Drop to pin both Haas and Benjamin and retain their titles.
Winners- The Showstealers
NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title Match
"The Only Truly Hybrid Athelete in the NWA" Kyle Matthews vs Chuck Taylor
Taylor is cashing in his Sunrise Cup here, he had the choice of either Matthews or a Junior Heavyweight Title match with his team mate Johnny Gargano. Taylor chose Matthews after his brutal assault on him after his victory last week, and he was aggressive from the get go, really taking the fight to Matthews and showing him he means business. Matthews however has a real mean streak now, in addition to his new attitude, and he utterly ruthlessly picked apart the arm and shoulder of Taylor that he injured with the Hidaka Lock last week, at one point the ref threatened to stop the match due to Taylor being in so much agony. Taylor then out of nowhere nails the Awful Waffle! But he's slow to cover as his arm is hurting so much, he crawls over, 1-2-NO, Matthews kicks out! Taylor locks in the Cross Crab, but his arm hurts so much he can't hold it and Matthews escapes. Matthews then instantly locks in the Hidaka Lock! Taylor holds on as long as he can, but taps out, the pain being too much. He didn't win but Taylor looked damn good in there, and were it not for his arm he might be the champion right now.
Winner- Kyle Matthews
Matthews refuses to let go of the hold, but before he can snap Taylor's arm Johnny Gargano runs down to make the save, as Matthews escapes, grabs his belt and leaves in a hurry. Gargano shouts at him to get out here, but instead Trent Barreta makes his way out, ready for his shot at the World Junior Heavyweight Title.
NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title Match
Johnny Gargano vs Trent Barreta
Gargano seemed distracted early on here, and with good reason as Taylor was helped to the back by his Revolution team mates, his arm potentially injured. Barreta took full advantage of this and dominated the early stages, until Gargano got into his groove and showed all the wrestling skill that made him the champion he is today. The match then went largely back and forth, with both men appearing to be even matches for each other, with Barreta even managing to nail the Gobstopper for a very near fall. Barreta also managed to escaped the Crosston Crab by making it to the ropes. A Double Clothesline took both men down, and then Kyle Matthews ran down to the ring with belt in hand, ready to smack both men with it. The ref tried to stop him so Matthews knocked him out, and that effectively makes this a no contest.
Winner- No Contest
Matthews sizes up Barreta, and NAILS HIM WITH THE BELT! Gargano then makes it to his feet only to fall to the same fate! Matthews then gets a microphone.
Matthews: I'm the ace of Hybrid Pro Gargano, not a junior like you, I should be main eventing every week. And what I did to your buddy Chuck Taylor is nothing compared to what I'm going to do to you when I get you in the ring. Because I am the only truly Hybrid athelete in the NWA, and the best wrestler on this planet!
Matthews poses with the belt, one foot on Gargano's chest, as the fans boo and the show ends.
