The show open up with clips from the recent Capitol Combat event. It is caped off with Alberto Del Rio wining the NWA World Champoionship.
As we finish watching the clips, Del rio's music hits and out he comes with the NWA Championship loosely around his waist, as his ribs are heavily taped.
Del Rio goes on to say that once again, the NWA Championship is where it belongs... Around the waist of a true champion.. a true warrior! A man of honstey and truth. A man who will back down from no man and no fight! A man who had fulfilled his destiny! (He holds up the CPW Championship) Del Rio says that he will be a fighting champion, and man who will defend BOTH titles, as he is not about to stop fighting now.... now that he is being showered by the gods!
(out comes Tommy Dreamer) Dreamer : Alberto, you ARE the NWA World Champion. You ARE the CPW Champion. One or the other you can NOT be! NWA rules state you can not hold a top promotional championship AND a World Championship at the same time. Seeing as you were not pined, I will give you TWO weeks to either hand over the championship, or I will send every man in the locker room, one by one, into that ring until you lose it. You have your options, consider them carefully.
Del Rio said that was an outrage! He beat Punk for the NWA Title fairly and has done nothing but bring honor and glory to the CPW Title. Dreamer said that Del Rio was lucky to walk out of Capitol Combat at all. Punk was ahead on points and looked to retain the World Title, until Rhino got involved. Dreamer advised that delRio vacate the title, becasue at NWA Fall Brawl on the 30th, he would be defending against Jon Moxley! Del Rio was livid about the information he was just given. As Dreamer was leaving he turned around and said: "By the way, you ahve a match tonight... against Richie Steamboat!"
(Recorded earlier in the week)
Montel Porter : Tanaka, you come to America and start taking shots at CPW talent. Calling them the weakest in the NWA... Calling them over paid pansies! Hell boy, I agree with you! They are nothing but jokes in the ring. I mean look at The Miz... He held the title for what... a week or two, then 'got hurt' and only JUST now got his title re-match? Come on! I would have been all over that like a fly on... well.. crap! Tanaka, I respect where you have come from, but I am also out to make a name for myself, just like you. You come looking for blood? I come looking for respect! I know it can be bought by some, earned by others. Me? I am here to TAKE it! I will TAKE what I want and when I want it! You are a stepping stone. That piss ant Ailey Ribbly, or what ever his name is , went to your promotion to 'earn' his stripes? I would have walked in and bitch slapped the damn president of the company and TAKEN the championship! The only reason I haven't done that here... yet, is because I have respect for one man and one man alone. Mr. Bischoff. The ONLY man in the NWA who has given me a chance. Other than that, I could care less if someone were to 'stroke out' in the middle of the ring! One less fool to deal with! Tanaka, come BreakDown, I will break you down and ship you home!
Challenge Match
Montel Porter -v- Masato Tanaka
Montel Porter -v- Masato Tanaka
Tough words from Porter earlier in the week, and he attempted to back them up early in the match. Unfortunately, Tanaka was all man and more monster in the ring! Tanaka took everything Porter threw at him and still managed to mount an impressive comeback to secure yet another win in CPW!
After the match, Tanaka took chair and blaster Porter with it, spilling his blood all over the mat. Tanaka then called out another opponent.. But rather than a current wrestler, out stepped Tommy Dreamer! Dreamer confronted Tanaka, saying that the carnage has to stop. Tanaka challenged him to try and stop him! Dreamer said he would.. but not now.. not tonight! Tanaka stood in the ring, snickering at Dreamer as Dreamer said that soon, Tanaka would feel the effects of the Dreamer Driver!
Result : Tanaka pinned Montel Porter with the Diamond Buster DDT (Implant DDT) in 09:34.
Prior to this next match, Santino said that due to recent "Comings and going's" this triple threat match was now going to be a tag team match. He said that Hardy could get a partner, but it had better be soon as his partner was about to make his CPW debut.. and out walked John Cena, to a mixed reaction. Cena stopped about half way down the ramp, and looked around. He didn't break a smile, nor a frown. Still stone faced, he continued on to the ring. Santino said that starting now, they were looking at the Tag Team Champions as marked men. One more threat to deal with. Cena and Carelli.... (At that point they attacked Hardy and it was a two on one until Jim Powers sprinted from the back to even out the match)
Tag Team Match
John Cena & Santino Carelli -v- Jim Powers & Matt Hardy
John Cena & Santino Carelli -v- Jim Powers & Matt Hardy
This match went back and forth. Powers was the smallest of the four men, but he actually held his own against Cena and Carelli, nearly pinning Cena, only to get turned inside out with a vicious clothesline as he celebrated a bit more than he should have.
Hardy was able to get tagged in, and went on a hot streak... He tagged both Santino and John with vicious looking dropkicks to the face, causing Cena to bleed from the nose. Hardy tried to end the match, but it was Santino that turned the match around for his team, as he blasted Powers in the back of the head with a Superkick that sent him crashing from the ring apron into the ringside barrier. He then hit Hardy with a Stunner that set up Cena and his flying forearm! From there it was an academic three count.
Result : John Cena and Santino Carelli defeated Jim Powers and Matt Hardy when John Cena pinned Matt Hardy after a flying forearm in 06:16.
(As the scene fades in we see the NWA World Women's Champion, Nattie Neidhart arriving off a plain at the Calgary International Airport where she is met by her father, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.)
Nattie : Hi dad! So good to see you!
Jim : Look at you! How you have grown and .... well grown up. (They hug) It sure is good to see you. What brings you home?
Nattie : Well, dad, I am off for a few days, and thought I would catch a flight home before I head back to California to meet with the boss and discuss my new contract.
Jim : New contract?
Nattie : Yep. I have been on a tear in the NWA. I am the NWA World Champion as you know (she unzips her bag and pulls out the title belt), and have been burning up the ring in Hong Kong. My next challenger is a brit named Britani Knight.
Jim : Britani Knight... Where have I heard that name before?
Nattie : Windy City. She was thier champion for a while. She recently won a contenders match. She has been in the states for a while. I hear CPW is trying to get her to come out west and do a show or two, but nothing has come out it.
Jim : Well, we all know you have 'Hart' blood runing through your veins, and push come to shove, you can ....
Nattie : And WILL....
Jim : And will, get the job done. Hey, how about we go to back and see mom.. She has been waiting for you to get home.
(The scene fades out as they walk out of the gate area)
Triangle Match for a spot in the War Games Match at Fall Brawl
Carlito -v- Cody Rhodes -v- Ken Anderson
Carlito -v- Cody Rhodes -v- Ken Anderson
This was a very brutal match between 3 of CPW's solid upper mid-card talents, all who were looking to break into the main events.
Ken Anderson was royally pissed off about losing his Television championship to The Miz and he let it all hang out in this match. He pushed the rule book to the very edge, and then some. Carlito, on the other hand was looking to get involved in the TV title hunt and saw this as an opportunity to dole out some punishment to the former champ. The two stood in the center of the ring and went toe to toe, nose to nose, fist for fist! Anderson and Carlito duked it out to the point that Carlito had Anderson backed into he corner and was choking him with the tag rope, and refused to let go past the ref's 5 count, thus drawing a DQ loss!
Fall 1 : Ken Anderson beat Carlito via disqualification in 06:53
As Carlito was arguing with the referee, Cody, slipped in and started taking up where Carlito left off, but he let go at the 4 count. Cody dominated this fall, with Ken trying to mount a comeback, but was worse off for the wear as Carlito really did a number on him. Cody was able to hit the Cross Rhodes and pick up the win to earn himself a trip to the NWA Fall Brawl Event.
Fall 2 : Cody Rhodes beat Ken Anderson via the Cross Rhodes in 14:01.
Result : Cody Rhodes defeated Ken Anderson and Carlito.
Triangle Match for a spot in the War Games Match at Fall Brawl
Chris Jericho -v- AJ Styles -v- The Miz
Chris Jericho -v- AJ Styles -v- The Miz
As The Miz made his way to the ring for this match, he 'thanked' AJ for the officiating job that he did at Capitol Combat. He said with out his help, that 'idiot' Anderson might well still be champion. AJ said he didn't 'help' Miz. AJ said that Anderson cost Anderson his title. AJ said he called it down the middle, just as he said he would. The Miz, again thanked AJ, only to get decked as he entered the ring and fell to the arnea floor, stunned a bit.
This led to Jericho and Styles starting out and puting on a clasic match. Both men used thier years of ring knoledge and know-how do the talkiing as they went back and forth for a few minutes only to have Miz break up a pinfall attempt. From there, AJ and The Miz went at it for a few minutes, then Jericho started out on the new TV champ, before throwing him up and over the top rope and crashing to the arena floor.
AJ and Jericho continued on for a few mor minutes before AJ weas able to block an attempted Walls of Jericho and land the Styles Clash for the three count!
Fall 1 : AJ Styles beat Jericho via the Styles Clash in 12:40
As the shocked Jericho stood at ringside, The Miz flew back into the ring, like a rabid hyiena attacking a wounded animal. He went after AJ with reckless abandon, but once Miz got 'comfortable' he started toying with AJ, and that led to his near loss. AJ was monuting a comback, and The Miz rolled to the outside to try and get a breather. As The Miz started to walk around, AJ Grabed Miz by the hair, to try and bring him back in to the ring! Miz tried to fight his way out bout could not, but was able to grab his TV title and blasted AJ in the face, stunning him. Miz rolled back into the ring and pined Styles with a roll up!
Fall 2 : The Miz beat AJ Styles via a rollup in 16:31
After the match, The Miz said that sooner or later, he and AJ would meet for the title.... and when that day comes, it will be AJ's last day, becasue he will put on such a wrestling clinic, that AJ will be a broken man after the match is over!
Result : The Miz defeated Chris Jericho and AJ Styles.
Elimination Match for the CPW Tag Team Championships
The Perfectionists -v- The Show Stoppers -v- The Faces of Fear (c)
The Perfectionists -v- The Show Stoppers -v- The Faces of Fear (c)
This match started off with Joe and Henning squaring off. Henning and Ziggler made fast tags in and out to keep Joe off guard a bit. What Joe didn't see was Dave Mastiff and Martin Stone come down and attack Mark Henry as the ref was trying ot keep Pearce and Compton out of the ring. The attack by Mastiff and Stone basically took Henry out of the match when Joe needed the tag. Joe was able to fight his way back into the the match, but Rockstar Spud cralwed out from under the ring and stood in Joe's corner wearing a 'sumo suit to look bigger. As Joe went for the tag Spud droped off the apron and walked away. Joe was looking on surprised and dumbfounded, then realized his team mate was on the floor, batter from the attack! As Joe was trying to figure what the hell happened, Ziggler hit him with the Zig Zag for the pinfall, and ensured that there sould be a new set of champions!
Fall 1 : Dolph Ziggler beat Samoa Joe via the Zig Zag in 06:22 after Rockstar Spud and Martin Stone interfered against Samoa Joe.
Joe was ushered from the ring as Ziggler was taunting the former champ, only to get rolled up and nearly pined by Compton. The remainder of the match went back and forth, with each team nearly wining.
The end came as Adam had Joe set up for the Piledriver, but Doilph came off the top rope with a clothsline, saving his partner. Joe hit the Perfect Plex while Dolph hit Cliff with a suiside dive to try and hold him off.
Fall 2 : Joe Hennig beat Adam Pearce via the Perfect Plex in 12:07.
Result : The Perfectionists (Dolph Ziggler and Joe Hennig) defeated The Faces of Fear (c) (Mark Henry and Samoa Joe) and The Show Stoppers (Adam Pearce and Cliff Compton) to win the CPW Tag Team Titles.
As the new Tag Team Champions, The Perfectionists, make their way up the ramp celebrating, The Show Stoppers take the house mics after their hard fought loss and tell the fans in attendance that some 'hot shot big mouth team' in South Beach wants to lay down an open challenge? Non-TItle Match
Richie Steamboat -v- Alberto del Rio
Richie Steamboat -v- Alberto del Rio
Steamboat came out and looked solid in this encounter, his last with CPW. In his last two high profile matches, he looked like a contender, but in the end came up short. In his battles with Carlito he has come up from a little known 'son of a ledgend' to a budding star in his own right.
Del Rio was a bit taken back as he thought he had an easy win, when in reality, Steamboat was more of a challenge than he expected. Del Rio was still able to target the arm of Richie and work it over, and as the match came to a close, Del Rio hit a shoulder breaker to further weaken the arm, and some how the ref to caught in the fray and went down.
As Del Rio signaled for his finisher, the lights went out... when they came back on, Rhino was in the corner, set up and ready to hit Del Rio with the Gore. As the new NWA Champion turned around, Rhino charged and nailed del Rio with a huge GORE!!! Rhino draped the injured Steamboat atop the uncontious Del Rio and splashed water on the ref's face to revive him... 1 .... 2 .... 3!!!
Result : Richie Steamboat pinned Alberto Del Rio in 09:55 after Rhino interfered against Alberto Del Rio.
Rhiho took the CPW and NWA Championships from the time keepr and reentered the ring. He threw the NWA title atop Del Rio and stood over him with the CPW Title. He said that tonight, Del Rio was bested by a man who was on his way out. Tonight Del Rio was bested by a man on his way in. Tonight Del Rio was the lesser man and in two weeks, he would no longer be the CPW Champion!
Rhino left with the CPW Championship as the show came to an end!
