NWA Entertainment Raw 29/12/12[/u]
Welcome to the final NWA Entertainment show of 2012, Raw. And we plan to see 2012 off with a bang, with semi final matches in the Raw Heavyweight Title tournament, plus the World Tag Team Champions are in town to face The Revolution. Lets get straight to the action with our opening contest
And for our opening contest, we have "The Project" Tommaso Ciampa in action. Ciampa issues another open challenge to anyone in New Jersey to take him on one on one in the middle of the ring. Ciampa may regret that, as out to the ring comes HERNANDEZ!
Open Challenge
"The Project" Tommaso Ciampa vs "Supermex" Hernandez
Ciampa was definitely a tad outmatched here, I mean yes he has a lot of power for a man a little under 6ft tall, but Hernandez was both bigger and more powerful than he was. Hernandez as a result largely dominated, with Ciampa limited in his offense, though he did manage to hit a few big power moves to. One Border Toss later and Hernandez won this contest.
Winner- Hernandez
"The Future" Chris Sabin vs "The Party Starter" Curt Hawkins
An interesting little matchup here between two losers from the 1st round of the Heavyweight Title tournament, Sabin took an aerial approach in this one, with Hawkins taking a more ground based one and working on Sabin's knee. Sabin did struggle a tad in this one, his knee still bothering him after Damien Sandow's calculated dismantling of it last week, but he gave his all and worked hard. It wasn't enough though, as much like last week Sabin's knee gave way when he went for the Cradle Shock, and Hawkins took full advantage to hit the Laugh Riot and win this matchup.
Winner- Curt Hawkins
Debutants Showcase
"The Notorious 187" Homicide vs "The Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams vs "The Guru" Sonjay Dutt
The three newest stars of NWA Entertainment had a chance to prove their worth in this contest, all of whom have some pretty death defying moves in their arsenal. Homicide's street personality and thug mentality quickly won over the crowd, who also remember Homicide from his days competing in the New Jersey independant scene. Dutt and Williams seemed to not really care for the fans, with Dutt's arrogance really grating on them, and Williams as a proud Canadian got booed just for not being American. Homicide ended up winning this one following a reversal of the Canadian Destroyer into the equally dangerous Cop Killa.
Winner- Homicide
Post match Dutt and Williams tried to lay a beating on Homicide, only for Hernandez to run out for the save, dropping Dutt with the Border Toss. LAX have reformed!
Raw Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi Final
Sheamus "Fella" vs "Captain Charisma" Christian
Two of the most loved and indeed entertaining wrestlers on the Raw roster did battle here to decide who goes to the final of the Raw Heavyweight Title Tournament next week. Sheamus as per usual brawled and threw his fists at "Captain Charisma", while Christian took a more mat based approach and tried to wear down the big powerhouse. His plan did work to an extent, as Sheamus was slowed down, but it was only for so long as Sheamus took the power from the "little fellas" in the audience to fight back. Sheamus shouted out "its fella time", charged and drove his boot into the face of Christian with the Brogue Kick, covered him and that was all.
Winner- Sheamus
Post match, Sheamus and Christian shook hands and had a beer bash, downing some Guinness thrown in from the crowd. Sheamus will go on to face the winner of our next matchup.
Raw Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi-Final
"The Kentucky Gentleman" Chuck Taylor vs "The Intellectual Saviour of the Masses" Damien Sandow"
Showing he was above Sandow's basic tricks, Taylor smacked Sandow in the face and took him own with a Dropkick when he offered a handshake, with Sandow revealed to have brass knuckles in his hand. And Taylor was on the offensive early, knowing that this was his chance to reach the big time, something he's been chasing for months. Sandow however is just as hungry, he wants to be the man and he had both the wrestling skills and the smarts to back that up. And with Taylor having that weak arm, it was only going to be so long before Sandow targeted it, which he did with the same efficiency that many others before him have. Taylor almost had Sandow when he got him up for the Awful Waffle, but his arm gave way, allowing Sandow to slip out and hit the Terminus to win this contest.
Winner- Damien Sandow
This of course means that next week we will see Sheamus and Damien Sandow wrestle one on one, with the winner becoming the first Raw Heavyweight Champion!
A mysterious video plays, hyping something called "The Tortured Soul". What could this be?
NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title Match
"The Whose Shebang" Johnny Gargano vs Richie Steamboat
In a way this match was one about respect: Gargano wanted Steamboat in NEXT to show he was worthy of a spot in The Revolution, and Steamboat wanted to prove himself to Gargano and show he could be a member. And Steamboat definitely showed he could match Gargano move for move in the squared circle, pushing the champ to his very limit and coming as close as it gets to winning the belt. Indeed had it not been for the ropes, Steamboat would have won with the Slingblade. However Gargano pushed hard, managed to hit a Hurts Donut out of nowhere and win the contest to retain his title.
Winner- Johnny Gargano
Afterwards Gargano shook Steamboat's hand, but said he still isn't a member of The Revolution, simply because the group isn't recruiting new members right now. However he said if Steamboat needed an ally down the line, they'd be watching.
NWA World Tag Team Title Match
The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) vs The Revolution (Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly)
An awesome tag team main event here, as The Briscoes had a real challenge on their hands against former World Tag Team Champions The Revolution. There was utterly no denying that when it came to pure teamwork, The Briscoes had a definite advantage, their years of experience as a team shining through. But The Revolution were able to take the fight to them to, with O'Reilly's kicks and submissions plus Cole's never say die attitude keeping them in this contest. However before a definite winner could be decided upon, LAX ran out and attacked the champions, leaing to a no contest.
Winners- No Contest
LAX continued the beatdown post match, before declaring themselves the champions elect, and challenging The Briscoes to a match for those belts next week. The Revolution however took exception to this, believing that they were screwed out of the belts by LAX's attack.
The new commissioner of RAW, John Laurinaitis then came out, and announced that next week, it'd be The Revolution taking on LAX, with the winners facing The Briscoes the week after on RAW for the NWA World Tag Team Titles. See you next week folks!
