Tonight's show is action packed with a four way dance with the winner facing Johnny Gargano at Breaking Point for the NWA Impact X title! Also CM Punk will face Randy Orton tonight for the NWA Impact championship! But first we're going to the ring as NWA president and NWA Impact owner Dustin Smith has something to say.
The camera cuts down to the ring as Dustin Smith stands in the ring with a new championship belt slung over his shoulder.
Dustin: Tonight we've got an exciting show, with the first round of a tournament to crown the first NWA Impact television champion! I'd like to personally thank FOX 53 for the opportunity allow you the fans at home to watch some of the best wrestling in the world! So sit back, and enjoy NWA IMPACT!
These are two very arrogant teams, and the newly signed Fightin' Taylor Boys are physical specimens. The Young Buck$ were getting extremely frustrated as the Taylor Boys would stop the tempo of the match to flex and play to the crowd. The Buck$ weren't happy but they pulled off a lot of their breath taking moves. Ryan Taylor got hit with the More Bang for your Buck, but Brian-Cage was able to break up the pin and hit the GMSI on MAtt Jackson but Nick was able all over Brian-Cage immediatly as both men traded hands. Ryan Taylor threw himself into the fray and the ref lost complete control of the match. This gave the Young Buck$ a huge advantage as they took to the air stringing together moves that ended up with another 'More Bang for your Buck' on Ryan Taylor this time for the win. Winner: The Young Buck$
Greg Iron came out with a mic looking angry, pointing out that he's undefeated here in NWA Impact and yet he was left out of the TV title tournament. It's an outrage and who ever does win the tournament will have a serious target on their back!
Things got intense before the match even began as Prince Devitt had some words with Regal at ringside, that left Regal in a sour mood for the entirety of the match. This match was really well done as both men were so sound in this match going counter for counter. The crowd chanted "This is Awesome!" as Kidd and Devitt pulled out all the stops in the first match of the television title tournament. Devitt tried to get the win after a top rope double stomp but Kidd was able to throw his shoulder up at the last second, it took the bloody sunday to finally put Kidd away to give Devitt the advance. Winner: Prince Devitt
Sha Samuels brawling style was no match for Danielson who made this match look very one sided as he easily put Samuels in a crossface forcing Samuels to submit in the shortest match of the night.
Magnus dominated this match with his size, but Lethal came with flashes of brilliance with his innovative style, and it really stunned Magnus at points. Lethal tried to hit his lethal injection but ended up getting leveled with a huge clothesline to the back by Magnus! Magnus would repeatedly slam Lethal to the mat with a series of powerbombs but Lethal was able to counter a third powerbomb from Magnus with a hurrincanrana, before pointing to the ropes signalling for another lethal injection attempt. This time Magnus followed and rolled Lethal up for a near fall, Lethal came right back with the Lethal Combination and followed up with an elbow off the top to finally pull out the win. Winner: Jay Lethal
London has held championship gold here in NWA Impact before and he looekd to get it back again as he faced off against "That Young Knockout Kid" for the last spot in the first round of the TV title tournament. Hero was brutal in this match trying to soften up London for that knock out shot that's gotten him so manhy victories all over the world. London was super confident through out the match smirking and showboating every time he one upped Hero, which pissed off Hero enough to slap the taste out of London's mouth! The match broke down and Hero took advantage trying to snap off the KO Elbow but London would duck and hit the dropsault! The match continued at a frantic pace with Hero swinging again with the elbow but London was able to duck it again and hit the waffle face, following up with a shooting star press to put away Hero on his way towards capturing another Impact title! Winner: Paul London
About all that got going in this match was jocking for position before Jon Moxley, Sami Callihan and SJK came out. Cottonwood and Richards were called into the ring by Punk for protection but Moxley and company still entered the ring and after an intense stand off between Richards and Cottonwood against the invaders, Cottonwood would spin around and slap the chokeslam on Punk as Richards went for a superkick on Orton! Orton would catch the foot and snap off the RKO! That was the opening salvo as Moxley and his team would gang style beat down Orton and Punk with the help of Cottonwood and a revived Richards in a 5 on 2 beatdown!
At the end of the beating Moxley got on the mic.
Moxley: I get what you were trying to do Punk, you lost the NWA World title and now you're trying to reclaim some glory by trying to capture the NWA Impact title, I get it. I bet your wondering why your goons turned on you, it's because you didn't give them RESPECT! Just like why Callihan and SJK are already following me, because when you're with a guy like me you get RESPECT! No more will guys like us get swept under the rug, in favor of having steriod injected pretty boys. We're taking over the world now, we're a shield... no that sounds stupid... NO we're a poison that's going to bring the NWA to it's knees, we are TOXIC!
This was a four way dance with the winner going onto face Johnny Gargano at the Breaking Point iPPV, and speaking of Gargano he joined Styles and Regal on commentary for this match as he broke down his opponents strengths and weaknesses. The first guy eliminated was Bonham after getting hit with a lariat by Callihan and Aries sliding in with the last chancery forcing Bonham to tap out! The match continued with Generico getting eliminated awhile later with Aries putting his lights out with a brainbuster! Callihan looked strong after the mugging he was apart of earlier as he faced off against the self proclaimed 'Greatest Man that Ever Lived' and the fight between the two was brutal as Callihan tried to beat Aries to a pulp to force him to give up in any way possible but Aries was able to hang in the match after getting welts put all over his body by vicious strikes from Callihan! Aries hit a fast paced series of moves finishing off with a pendulum elbow drop for a two count! When things started looking grim Cottonwood came to ringside to watch, throwing Aries off his game. Callihan ended up getting locked in the last chancery and was about to tap out but Cottonwood got on the apron. Gargano in a suprise move came from the table and hit Cottonwood in the back with the belt dropping the giant off the apron crashing to the hardwoods! Callihan tried to use the distraction to hit his lariat but Aries would duck it and hit the brainbuster to put Callihan away!
Gargano would climb into the ring and stand face to face with Aries, nose to nose. Aries offered a hand shake and Gargano would aggressively shake it holding the NWA Impact X title in the background as the show faded to black.
