I'm really pleased with this show, in fact I'd say this is my best work in a while. Plus its a bit of a new style, more close to what you might see on a Monday night.
NWA Entertainment Monday Night Raw 21/01/2013[/u]
Hello and welcome to the return of a wrestling tradition, Monday Night Raw. We are live in Stamford, Connecticut in front of a packed audience for tonight's show.
We begin with NWA Entertainment Commissioner Kevin Nash coming out to the ring.
Nash: How's everybody doing tonight huh?
The crowd cheer, and are red hot for the action tonight.
Nash: Before we get to the actual show, I have some announcements to make. First of all, the big one. I'm creating 2 new NWA Entertainment Titles, the Tag Team and X-Division Titles. These belts will help bring NWA Entertainment to a whole new level. Champions will be decided in the coming weeks, starting next week with some 1st round tournament matches
The crowd love this, and who will we see challenge for these belts next week?
Nash: Secondly, all NWA Entertainment shows are going to employ a guest host. As this is the 1st show, and nobody else could be found at such short notice, Bix Sexy is the guest host tonight! But you can expect to see almost anyone show up as host.
The crowd also like this, getting some unpredictability is bound to be awesome to watch.
Nash: And finally, I want to introduce NWA Entertainment's newest signing. He's talented in the ring, he's a talented entertainer, and a talented sportsman. Ladies, please welcome, Kurt Angle!
Angle makes his way to the ring to a mixed reaction, with lots of "You Suck" chants to his music.
Angle: I didn't come here tonight to be told I suck, because I know I don't suck. I won a gold medal with a broken freakin neck. And I don't care who I wrestle tonight, I'm going to win on my way to my 4th NWA World Heavyweight Title!
Nash: Well it just so happens I have an opponent for you tonight Kurt, but I'm not revealing him until match time. Good luck medal boy.
Nash leaves as Angle looks far from happy
Junior Heavyweight Showcase
"The Technical Messiah" Alex Shelley vs Tyler Black
This could now be classed as an X-Division showcase, as both these men are set to be in that tournament, and what an opener they gave us here. These two are masters of their craft, and they gave us some great mat wrestling, in addition to some quality high flying X-Division style wrestling to. And Shelley was the one who pulled out the win, hitting Black with the Shellshock to pick up the win.
Winner- Alex Shelley
Next up is out debutants 3 way, and we got a few words with each man ahead of this one.
Dolph Ziggler: I'm going to win this match because I don't just look the best, I am the best. I'm the all natural reflection of perfection baby and I'm going to prove it tonight!
Jay Lethal: OOOH YEAAAHHH, Black Machismo is here in NWA Entertainment. And tonight he's going to go to the top, drop that big elbow and take his machismo to the pay window. OOOOHHHH YEAAAHHHH!
Kofi Kingston: When I hit the Boom Drop, and give Dolph and Jay a taste of Trouble in Paradise, I'll take the victory home to Jamaica. BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Debutants 3 Way
"The Natural" Dolph Ziggler vs "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal vs "The Wildcat" Kofi Kingston
Ziggler seemed very pre-occupied with his appearance for a lot of this match, checking himself out in a full length mirror he brought to the ring. Lethal and Kingston on the other hand were both focused in their own way, and as a result we got a really entertaining 3 way that had the fans on their feet for much of the match. And Ziggler actually ended up winning it after showing some of that immensely impressive wrestling ability, hitting "Black Machismo" with a Zig Zag to get 3.
Winner- Dolph Ziggler
Heavyweight 4 Way
"The War Machine" Brock Lesnar vs "The All American American" Jack Swagger vs "The Viper" Randy Orton vs Sheamus "Fella"
A really wild heavyweight match here, especially with the continuing war between Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton, who beat the living hell out of each for most of this. In fact, such was the intensity of their brawl, they forgot about the match and ended up brawling all the way into the crowd. Swagger then looked to have this won when he went for the Doctor Bomb, but Sheamus escaped, yelled out "ITS FELLA TIME" and nailed the Brogue Kick. That was enough to keep Swagger down and give Sheamus a big victory.
Winner- Sheamus
Following the match, Sheamus challenged the winner of tonight's title unification match to a match for the NWA Entertainment Heavyweight Title, before having a beer bash to celebrate.
Grudge Tag Match
Poison (Cibernetico and Oscar Rubio) vs Ground and Pound ("The Canadian Bulldog" Harry Smith and Uhaa Nation)
Poison are a scary team, and Rubio, the former Rey Mysterio, is a changed man, he wrestles practically on the mat and has zero regard for the rules, twisting them any way he could to try and get an advantage. Cibernetico was as brutal a monster as he always is, tossing Smith and Nation around with ease, but Ground and Pound are no easy team to match, they used their own power to toss Rubio around and went toe to toe with Cibernetico as best they could. In fact it actually looked like they would come out on top, until a masked man ran out. He kicked Smith in the face and dived out onto Nation who was outside the ring. Cibernetico then grabbed Smith by the throat and gave him the Garra Cibernetica, and the win was academic at that point.
Winners- Poison
Kurt Angle makes his way out to the ring, looking fired up for his match, that is until the music of his opponent starts playing.....
IF YOU SMELL, WHAT THE ROCK, IS COOKING!
THE ROCK makes his way out to an utterly massive ovation, and Angle looks scared for his life, he didn't expect this kind of challenge.
"The People's Champion" The Rock vs "The Olympic Gold Medallist" Kurt Angle
What an atmosphere we had for this match, and it didn't dissapoint, there was a lot of energy and excitement, and these tow had a wrestling clinic on the mat, one that any young wrestler should look at and watch. And while Angle was as awesome as ever, The Rock had every man, woman and child on his side, entertaining with the simplest of ease, and making a mockery of Angle's big debut. Angle did however have an ace up his sleeve, that being the angle Slam, but The Rock somehow kicked out. He locked in the Anklelock, but The Rock kicked him off, nipped up and nailed the Rock Bottom in one fluid motion. The elbow pad then comes off, he runs the ropes and drops the Peoples Elbow! 1-2-3!
Winner- The Rock
The Rock celebrates before getting the microphone.
Rock: Finally, The Rock has come back to professional wrestling!
The fans explode and chant "Rocky, Rocky, Rocky"
Rock: And this is only the beginning,. You see, The Rock has always been a big name in sports and entertainment. In fact he is the biggest name in all of entertainment. Yet The Rock only has 1 NWA World Heavyweight Title reign to his name? In order to fully cement my legacy as not just The Great One, but the greatest sports entertainer of all time, I have to win that title belt again, and hold it longer than anyone has ever held it. Only then can The legend of The Brahma Bull be complete. IF YA SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING!
The Rock poses as the fans cheer, and Angle looks on jealously.
Grudge Match
"The Chosen One" Drew McIntyre vs Sean Waltman
McIntyre last week on Smackdown accused Waltman of not being on his side after he accidentally kicked McIntyre, costing them their tag match with The Hybrid Athletes. But things at least seemed to be somewhat patched up when they shook hands at the beginning, and had a really fun match that the fans were into. That was until the referee was knocked out accidentally by a Waltman kick, and of all people, Cibernetico ran out. HE GRABS MCINTYRE BY THE THROAT, GARRA CIBERNETICA! Waltman looks confused and covers McIntyre, 1-2-3!
Winner- Sean Waltman
The lights go out and the green spotlight then focuses on Cibernetico and Waltman.
Cibernetico: Sean Waltman, do you really believe that your friendship with Drew McIntyre will bring you the respect and redemption that you deserve? If you think it will your wrong. Only by troubled soul and my poison can bring you the success you crave. Cast aside your past, embrace the present, and together with me your future will be golden.
The lights come back on and Waltman seems reluctant, siding with McIntyre. X-FACTOR TO MCINTYRE! Waltman crotch chops at McIntyre and then reveals from his tights a mask, the same mask Ground and Pound's attacker was wearing. Waltman was the one who interfered! The fans boo as Poison just got a little bit stronger.
Interpromotional Grudge Match
Kevin Steen and "The Kentucky Gentleman" Chuck Taylor w/Super Dragon, Kyle O'Reilly and Richie Steamboat vs Christopher Daniels and Bray Wyatt w/"The Outlaw" Luke Gallows, Bully Ray and Devon
A chaotic tag match, if only because of the presence of all of these men tag partners at ringside. At first order was maintained and we got an actual match, only for things to completely break down when Gallows interfered, leading to a six way brawl around ringside and a brawl in the ring to. Amongst the confusion, JBL ran in and nailed a Clothesline From Hell on Taylor, turning him inside out, and Daniels then nailed the BME to pin him for 3.
Winners- Christopher Daniels and Bray Wyatt
JBL then got a microphone.
JBL: NWA Entertainment fans, you are in the presence of a wrestling god, and I'm a face your going to have to get very used to. Because you see I've just got done negotiating with Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, and I've sealed the deal. Brothers, sisters, your guest host of Raw next week is JBL!
The fans boo and this is worrying for The Revolution and Appetite for Destruction. What will JBL have in store for them?
NWA Entertainment Heavyweight Title Unification Match
Raw Champion "The Intellectual Saviour of the Masses" Damien Sandow vs Smackdown Champion "The Most Hybrid Athlete in the NWA" Kyle Matthews
The fans didn't like either of these two men, as both haven't exactly endeared themselves to the NWA Entertainment faithful, and it showed. It was however an interesting match, seeing these two trying to one up each other on the mat and in terms of cheap tactics. Matthews was effectively the good guy by default due to Sandow just out and out being a dick while Matthews actually tried to win the match based on skill for the most part. And Matthews looked like was going to do just that when he went for the Slurpee Kick, but he missed and nailed the referee by accident. He then locked in the Hidaka Lock on Sandow, who started tapping, but the referee was out. Then Alberto Del Rio ran out of the crowd. and nailed the Enziguri on Matthews. Sandow then recovered and dropped Matthews with the Terminus, 1-2-3! Del Rio laughs as Sandow celebrates unifying the belts.
Winner- Damien Sandow
Del Rio turns to leave as Sandow leaves with the belt, but Matthews has something to say.
Matthews: Is that all you've got Del Rio, an attack from behind. All you've done is cost me a worthless title belt. Don't you know its my destiny to be the NWA World Heavyweight Champion? It doesn't matter what I lose along the way, and if I have to lose all I've worked for, and take you with me to achieve my dream, I'll do it. I challenge you to put your belt on the line against the most hybrid athlete in the NWA at Year of the Snake. That is if you've got the guts champ?
Del Rio looks on, not sure how to react. Will he accept the challenge?
NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title Match
"The Whole Shebang" Johnny Gargano vs "Captain Charisma" Christian
Compared to a lot of the other chaotic action on tonight's show, this match was fairly formulaic, or at least it was until near the end. Christian certainly gave Gargano a real challenge as a skilled veteran like him always will, pushing the champ to his very limits, as he looked quite flustered which was maybe caused by his loss to Austin Aries for the Impact X belt. Christian got Gargano in position for the Killswitch, ONLY FOR GARGANO TO LOW BLOW CHRISTIAN! He hits the Hurts Donut and retains, but this isn't like Gargano at all, what a cheap way to win!
Winner- Johnny Gargano
Gargano gets the microphone.
Gargano: Christian, don't take it personally, I had to make an impact. You see recently Johnny Gargano hasn't been the Johnny Gargano of old. I used to be the ruthless, destructive leader of the most ground breaking young group of talent in NWA history, a team which between each other held 3 NWA World belts, and a whole bunch of other titles. And look at me now, I'm simply the NWA's paper Junior champion, defending the belt week in and week out, and lets face it its gotten boring. Well I'm not going to stand for it anymore, the real Johnny Gargano is back, the Johnny Gargano who doesn't give a damn about anyone or anything but himself, and he's here to prove he's the whole shebang!
Gargano drops the mic as the fans boo, and Gargano has had a very sudden and dramatic change of heart as far as where his allegiances lie.
NWA World Tag Team Title Street Fight
The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) vs LAX ("The Notorious 187" Homicide and "Supermex" Hernandez)
A very wild main event, as these two teams didn't have to worry about rules holding them back this time, and instead could go all out to try and kill one another. And they certainly did that, with every kind of weapon you could think of getting involved, and both Briscoes were majorly busted open than to a fork Homicide was carrying around with him. Homicide also got busted open, than to a few shot from a trashcan lid by Jay. Hernandez was very brutal here, putting Mark through a table with a massive Powerbomb and taking out Jay with a big dive over the top rope. The Briscoes however fought back in a big way, finally taking down Hernandez with a Spike Jay Driller ONTO A CHAIR! The two then hat a big Double Powerbomb onto Homicide through a table! They followed this with their combination Shooting Star Press/Diving Leg Drop combo onto Homicide into the table remains, and pinned him for 3.
Winners- The Briscoes
The Briscoes celebrated, but not for long as LAX got back up and attacked again. Homicide grabs Mark, AND NAILS THE COP KILLA THROUGH A CHAIR!! The two start beating up Jay until Sheamus makes the save, nailing a brogue Kick on Homicide and staring down Hernandez! The show ends with these two big bulls staring each other down, with a match between these two almost certain to happen soon.
