NWA Entertainment Monday Night Raw 04/02/2013[/u]
Welcome to Monday Night Raw! Tonight's show is guest hosted by "The Commissioner of Asskicking" himself, Steve Blackman! And he comes out to start the show in that very mood.
Blackman: Now in NWA Entertainment I've noticed there's a lot of issues going on, but not enough asskickings. This isn't something I can settle for, and tonight we are going to solve this.
The show tonight already has 6 matches scheduled, those being the semi finals of our two tournaments, Alberto Del Rio defending the World Title against The Rock and Kyle Matthews vs Jimmy Yang to decide who faces the champ at Year of the Snake. I'm going to add Johnny Gargano defending his Junior Heavyweight Title against Christian, Bray Wyatt and Luke Gallows of The Family taking on Chuck Taylor and Richie Steamboat of The Revolution, and Drew McIntyre teams with Harry Smith to face Sean Waltman and Oscar Rubio of Poison! Finally, Wade Barrett will also make his debut, taking on Uhaa Nation.
Before Blackman can say anything else, Al Snow, his former Head Cheese partner comes down to the ring along with Head!
Snow: Hey Steve, I see your commissioner for the evening huh. Well thats all well and good, but where's your commissioner's hat?
Blackman: What do you mean commissioner's hat?
Snow: You know, your big hat that says commissioner on it. Well it just so happens I have one for you here my man.
Snow takes the cheese hat out of his bag.
Blackman: You kept this after all these years? Wow, that's some Head Cheese dedication.
Snow: Its all for you buddy. Come on, try it on for old times sake?
Blackman caves in and puts on the cheese hat to a big cheer. Snow celebrates by shaking Head, while Blackman doesn't look any less fearsome with a cheese hat on.
Wade Barrett vs Uhaa Nation
Nation was certainly a very difficult opponent for Barrett in his first match, but he wasn't phased, using those big fists of his to match the power of Nation. And the man who has promised to bring the "Barrett barrage" to NWA Entertainment finished off Nation with the Wasteland to win in his debut.
Winner- Wade Barrett
Grudge Match
Poison (Sean Waltman and Oscar Rubio) vs "The Chosen One" Drew McIntyre and "The Canadian Bulldog" Harry Smith
McIntyre only wanted one thing, to beat the hell out of Waltman, and he really had to fight to do that as Waltman didn't want any part of him. Indeed Rubio was in there most of the time, which worked to Poison's disadvantage, until Smith finally dragged Waltman in there. McIntyre then finally got a piece of Waltman, dropping him with the Future Shock, and pinning him 1-2-3 to finally get a piece of revenge!
Winners- Drew McIntyre and Harry Smith
This one is far from over, but when will we see McIntyre and Waltman one on one? It may happen at No Way Out at the end of February!
NWA Entertainment Tag Team Titles Semi Final Match
The Unholy Trinity (Bully Ray and Devon) w/Christopher Daniels vs LAX ("The Notorious 187" Homicide and "Supermex" Hernandez)
This was certainly a wild match, almost like something you'd expect from ECW in terms of the intensity and the consistent use of weapons, not to mention the wild and rowdy crowd who really hated on the Trinity. Ray and Devon beat down LAX any way they could, with Daniels getting involved constantly. Finally, as Daniels got involved yet again, out ran Chuck Taylor, attacking Daniels and the two brawled all around ringside. The distraction allowed LAX back into the contest, and one Cop Killa on Devon later, LAX were through to the final.
Winners- LAX
Post match The Unholy Trinity tried to beat down Taylor 3 on 1, but Appetite For Destruction made the save. Their opponents, Poison, made their way out ahead of our next match.
NWA Entertainment Tag Team Title Tournament Semi Final
Appetite for Destruction (Kevin Steen and Super Dragon) vs Poison (Cibernetico and "The War Machine" Brock Lesnar)
Appetite for Destruction fared very well against two of the most powerful men in the entire NWA, a very admirable feat considering how dangerous these two have proven to be with their destruction of Ground and Pound. But it was only going to be a matter of time before interference reared its ugly head, and this time it was The Family. Gallows distracted the ref as Wyatt hat a big Splash Mountain on Dragon. Lesnar finished him off with the F5 to pick up the win.
Winners- Poison
Appetite For Destruction and The Family brawled until The Revolution (Chuck Taylor and Richie Steamboat) made their way out, leading to....
Grudge Match
The Family (Bray Wyatt and Luke Gallows) vs The Revolution ("The Kentucky Gentleman" Chuck Taylor and Richie Steamboat)
A crazy matchup, if only for all the interference. Taylor had a definite edge, he's on fire after his Rumble win and even the powerful Wyatt struggled to match him. But before we knew it, The Unholy Trinity were back out to interfere again, quickly followed by Kyle O'Reilly and Appetite For Destruction. The utter anarchy as the teams brawled meant the ref had no choice but to throw this one out.
Winners- No Contest
The brawl quickly became more and more heated, until officials ran out to break this one up. What will happen when these teams meet at Year of the Snake?
NWA Entertainment X-Division Title Semi Final Match
"The Technical Messiah" Alex Shelley vs "The Natural" Dolph Ziggler
What an awesome mat wrestling match this was, these two put on a real clinic, with Shelley displaying all of his awesome and unique submissions, while Ziggler (in-between admiring himself in his full length mirror) came up with a counter for everything Shelley had to offer and some unique moves himself. Ziggler managed to hit the Zig Zag, and that helped him to victory and a place in the final.
Winner- Dolph Ziggler
NWA Entertainment X-Division Title Semi Final Match
"The Wildcat" Kofi Kingston vs Kyle O'Reilly
A definite clash of styles as far as X-Division style matches go, as you had the high flying, high risk style of Kingston taking on the more submission based style of O'Reilly. And O'Reilly seemed to play it smarter, as while Kingston got some big offense in with those high risk moves, O'Reilly slowly wore him down with hold after hold on the right ankle. Finally, when Kingston went for the Boom Drop, O'Reilly moved and Kingston hurt that ankle, which O'Reilly quickly followed with an Anklelock. Kingston had no choice but to tap.
Winner- Kyle O'Reilly
At Year of the Snake, Dolph Ziggler and Kyle O'Reilly will wrestle one on one, the winner becoming the first NWA Entertainment X-Division Champion! And we will also see Poison of Cibernetico and Brock Lesnar face LAX of Homicide and Hernandez to crown our first Tag Team Champions!
NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title Match
"The Whole Shebang" Johnny Gargano vs Christian
The fans were solidly in Christian's corner here, as Gargano has done nothing to endear himself to the fans recently, and they wanted to see a title change. Gargano had a strategy, that being to work over the neck, so that the Hurts Donut would be that bit more effective, while Christian simply wanted to beat the hell out of Gargano any way he could to get revenge. Finally Christian went for the Killswitch, only to take a Low Blow and then a Hurts Donut, allowing Gargano to retain his title again.
Winner- Johnny Gargano
NWA World Heavyweight Title Match
Alberto Del Rio vs "The People's Champion" The Rock
A very entertaining title matchup here, as The Rock took the fight to the champion. Del Rio's mat skills were matched by The Rock in what some might say was surprising fashion, and combined with Rock's big impact moves, Del Rio struggled at times here. Indeed The Rock got a 2.999 with the Rock Bottom, before setting up for the People's Elbow. He runs both ropes, only for Del Rio to hit the Enziguri. He then locks in the Cross Armbreaker, and Rock taps.
Winner- Alberto Del Rio
Before the main event begins, NWA Entertainment owner Magnus D makes his way to the ring. He doesn't seem to have anything to say, he's just waiting at ringside. Whats he doing here?
Winner Faces Alberto Del Rio at Year of the Snake
"The Most Hybrid Athlete in the NWA" Kyle Matthews vs Jimmy Yang
Both men come down to the ring, the bell rings....and Matthews lies down on the canvas. Matthews shouts "Go on, get on with it" while Magnus shouts "Pin him now, you know its what the NWA wants". Yang, who looks totally perplexed, covers Matthews 1-2-3.
Winner- Jimmy Yang
The fans are stunned, I'm stunned, what the hell is going on here, this wasn't in the script? Yang looks enraged as Magnus shouts at him to "get the fuck out of here", and he leaves looking visibly furious.
Kyle Matthews gets up, get a microphone and sits in the middle of the ring.
Matthews: "Before we begin, this isn't Kyle Matthews the character or Kyle Matthews the wrestler who's talking, this is Kyle Matthews the man. You see, ever since I was a little boy, all I ever wanted to do was this. I had two dreams, one was to become a wrestler, the other was to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title. And from my first day of training, I had to work damn hard to get anywhere. I worked the indies for years, waiting for my big break while people said I had potential to be great, but never gave me the chance to show it. Then Magnus D gave me my shot at the big time, and I took is as best I could. And whether my character was a good guy or a bad guy, I lived my dream and entertained you all each and every night, climbing the ladder on my way to a shot at what I had dreamed of all my life, the NWA World Heavyweight Title.
Now until a few days ago, the plan was to have me wrestle Alberto Del Rio for that very belt at Year of the Snake. Magnus had to work overtime to get them to even consider putting me in that match, but they did. Then a few days ago I got a call from the board of directors, saying that they didn't want me in the match anymore, instead they wanted to put "Jimmy Yang" in there. Apparently it was due to his "Korean heritage" and how it would "draw a lot of money in China". What a load of bullshit!
Now a lot of people might simply think I'm angry because I'm not getting my title shot, or because I've been disrespected by being replaced with a no talent piece of crap like Yang, but thats not what made me angry. What made me angry was the disrespect that Alberto Del Rio and the NWA have shown to every single wrestler who's earned and fought for that belt. You see, supershow title shot are not gifts, they are earned, and not only is every single wrestler in the NWA fighting hard to get one of those shots, every single promoter is working hard to get their wrestlers one of those shots. To give Jimmy Yang a supershow title shot in this fashion is an insult to every wrestler and promoter in the NWA!
The NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Johnny Gargano, along with the NWA World Tag Team Champions, The Briscoes.
Jay Briscoe: Kyle, we ain't got anything against what you just said. We worked hard to get our supershow title shot against the Rockstars, and we earned these belts like real men. We weren't handed anything, we had to earn it. And we support you all the way.
Gargano: In the ring, when I'm in character Kyle, you and me are mortal enemies, but outside the ring your one of my best friends. We came up through Hybrid Pro together, and while I didn't win my belt on a supershow, I worked damn hard to earn this belt and put on a show for the fans every night. I've never turned down a challenger, and would never wrestle against someone I didn't feel was ready for the shot, especially not on a supershow. You have my full support friend.
Then the entire NWA Entertainment locker room comes down to the ring, lead by three men: The Rock, Kurt Angle and the NWA Entertainment Champion Damien Sandow.
Rock: I might be a Hollywood movie star and a former World Heavyweight Champion, but once The Rock was a young kid named Rocky Maivia, battling to try and get out of his fathers shadow. At one point every fan hated me so much I was getting "Die Rocky Die" chants, and to become who I am today I had to change every little thing about myself. It took years but I got my shot at the big gold belt in 2002 against Diamond Dallas Page, and I took it. What if DDP had turned down The Rock's challenge and defended against Scotty 2 Hotty instead? It would've sucked and the NWA would have paid the price. Thats why I'm siding with you Kyle, I worked hard to get my shot, and you don't deserve to have yours taken away.
Angle: I've held that belt 3 times Kyle, but I didn't get there overnight. I had to earn my spot not just in wrestling, but in the olympics to. Everyone knows that I won these with a broken neck, but it was a small price to pay for gold, and it made me who I am today. I've never turned down a challenge, because I see every challenge as another obstacle towards becoming the best, and I can't endorse what the NWA and Alberto Del Rio have done in turning down Kyle's challenge. I'm on your side.
Sandow: In this ring I play an intellectual, but outside of this ring I think the NWA have made a stupid mistake. As one of the leaders of the NWA Entertainment locker room, I can safely say that every wrestler in this locker room believes in you Kyle. We all support you, and believe you've grown enough to handle the burden of the NWA World Heavyweight Title.
Finally Matthews takes back the mic.
Matthews: Alberto, I'm sure you'll take your time and name a title match when you see fit, because you know that when we do meet, it won't be a wrestling match, its going to be a fight where I knock you on your stupid Mexican ass. But until then, I'm going to stand up for all those wrestlers and promoters who have been disrespected by you and the NWA, who care about tradition and the prestige of the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Thats why I'm asking for your help NWA promoters, if you want your wrestlers to hold a belt that means something, then invite me over and lets make a stand like NWA Entertainment have today. Lets stand for the tradition of the NWA!
The show ends with the locker room applauding, and the fans chanting Matthews name.
Welcome to Monday Night Raw! Tonight's show is guest hosted by "The Commissioner of Asskicking" himself, Steve Blackman! And he comes out to start the show in that very mood.
