Not an especially lengthy show this week match wise, however I've been pretty busy so its been difficult to find the time really. Next weeks show should be a tad longer and will utilise more of my roster.
NWA Entertainment Monday Night Raw 11/02/2013[/u]
Hello and welcome to Monday Night Raw! After the supershow last night, a number of stars are being rested tonight, however there's still plenty of big matches on tonight's show.
The show begins with Kyle Matthews making his way to the ring to a deafening ovation from the fans. He has a lot to say.
Matthews: "First of all, I'm going to direct some words towards our World Champion. Alberto Rodriguez. Last night I showed exactly what happens to you when you mock my words, I knocked you the hell out and snapped your arm with the Hidaka Lock. Do you honestly think anyone, I repeat ANYONE, believes your little bullshit story about how you lived in a cardboard box as you worked your way up the ladder. They don't because they know your history. Your dad was Dos Caras and your uncle was Mil Mascaras, with parents like that you were given every opportunity to succeed from the minute you stepped into a wrestling ring. To say you worked your way up like everyone else is an insult to all the guys who truly did start from the bottom, just like I did!
Secondly Alberto, I saw what you said about the NWA Entertainment locker room. Do you think I'm not aware that there are backstabbers back there? There are plenty of guys back there who would turn on me in an instant if it meant they could get a shot at the belt, just like there are lots of guys who would turn their back on you Alberto to get a shot at your gold. But here's the thing, the NWA Entertainment locker room don't want you as champion anymore, they believe your a poor representative of the NWA and that title. Thats why they are behind me Del Rio, because they would rather see someone who will stand up for the honour and integrity of the NWA hold that belt, and until I hold that belt they are all behind me!"
The fans cheer and chant "Next World champ", but Kyle isn't done.
"Now I want to turn my attention to someone who's in the arena tonight, Jimmy Yang. First of all, if by being you, you mean being a guy who as I predicted lost convincingly to the champ in a pointless match exactly as I predicted, then it sucks to be you Jimmy.
Now two things you said really annoyed me. The first thing was that nobody knows who I am compared to you. Jimmy, didn't you the fans in that arena last night, when you and the World champ came out they were chanting MY name, whereas you got cockroaches while everyone said "who the hell is he?". And the second thing was how hard you've worked to get here. Jimmy, you trained at the WCW Powerplant and debuted in WCW on national television. And when that company died on name value alone you got more chances than any young guy would get to succeed. I've been wrestling for 9 years, 4 less than you, and 8 of those were in practical poverty. I didn't think you were part of the problem, but with your words you proved you deserve to fail just as much as Alberto does!"
Jimmy Yang then makes his way out, again looking like he's ready to explode.
Yang: "Kyle, I find your words incredibly disrespectful. So what if I started out wrestling on TV, I still busted my ass every night for these people, and still had to fight to get any kind of opportunity. And even when I got those shots, it was as some kind of joke character, like a cowboy or a Japanese stereotype. Did you think I was going to turn down a shot at the NWA World Title? I've been fighting my entire career to get that shot, and maybe going in I knew I wasn't likely going to win that match, but I did know that it'd get people talking about me again, that in turn may lead to me getting some more opportunities to prove myself and cement my legacy in this business. If you think that I'm just going to sit back and let you tarnish everything I've worked for over the past 13 years then your sadly mistaken. You and me, one on one, your not even going to get to Alberto Del Rio as I'm ending your career tonight!"
Yang throws down the mic and spits in Matthews's face as he leaves the ring. He didn't look pleased to say the least, and this match is going to be off the charts.
NWA North American Title Tournament 1st Round Match
Sami Callihan vs Christopher Daniels
Bizarrely, neither of these two men's respective factions were to be found at ringside, you would have thought both would want backup out there, but instead these two equally hated individuals battled on fair terms to decide the better man. Well at least early on. Callihan looked to beat the hell out of Daniels with punches plus anything he could get his hands on, while Daniels looked to ground Callihan and wear him down with holds. The interference however soon came, as Bully Ray and Devon made their way out to help Daniels. Before they could get involved however, The Revolution ran out and attacked them, distracting Daniels in the process. This gave Callihan the chance to hit Daniels in the back of the head with the 64 Lariat, then lock in the Stretch Muffler to make him tap. I understand the rivalry between The Unholy Trinity and The Revolution is still there, but why would they help TOXIC?
Winner- Sami Callihan
Grudge Match
"The Chosen One" Drew McIntyre vs Sean Waltman w/Cibernetico
We weren't expecting to see this match so soon, however its happening tonight as these two former friends turned enemies face off. McIntyre came out like a house on fire, he wanted revenge in a major way, and with nowhere to run Waltman got the beating he's had coming to him for weeks. Waltman did have one advantage though, he had Cibernetico in his corner, and his interference allowed Waltman time to regroup and keep himself in the match. It only last so long however before McIntyre recovered, and with his determination not at all deterred, McIntyre managed to pull out the victory, hitting the Future Shock to pin Waltman 1-2-3.
Winner- Drew McIntyre
Afterwards, as McIntyre celebrated and began to leave, Cibernetico got in the ring and grabbed Waltman by the throat, mic in his other hand.
Cibernetico: Sean Waltman, you said you wanted career redemption, and I offered it to you as part of my poisoning of the NWA, but you've failed me and yourself. Say goodbye to your career and your redemption.
Cibernetico readies Waltman for the Garra Cibernetica, BUT MCINTYRE RUNS DOWN TO SAVE WALTMAN! He drops Cibernetico with the Future Shock, and before Brock Lesnar and Oscar Rubio can hit the ring to make the save, McIntyre and Waltman take off, having one upped Poison. The question is, why did McIntyre save Waltman, after the way he betrayed him and joined Poison in the first place? I guess we will find out next week on Raw!
NWA North American Title Tournament 1st Round Match
Naomichi Marufuji vs El Terrible
A very fun lucha style matchup here, as both these men are masters of their craft and shined in their own way. Marufuji was definitely the faster of the two, taking to the air with some impressive high flying moves, while Terrible looked to use his size advantage to take down Marufuji, hitting some big power moves and keeping him on the mat. Despite being a bit worn out after his match with Gargano yesterday, Marufuji still managed to come out on top here, pinning Terrible after the Shiranui.
Winner- Naomichi Marufuji
Afterwards, as Marufuji celebrated, Johnny Gargano made his way to the ring along with his title belt, which he successfully defended against Marufuji last night at Year of the Snake.
Gargano: "You know, Kyle Matthews opened a door last week by speaking his mind, and I've decided I'm going to get something off my chest to. Last night, Naomichi Marufuji, you gave me the first real challenge I've faced in the 5 months that I've held this belt. You know why that is? Because nobody cares about this title belt. I had an open challenge out for weeks, and had it not been for Magnus D personally requesting Triumph to send a challenger, I wouldn't have had to defend this belt at Year of the Snake at all. I've held this belt for 5 months, and in all that time not a single promotion have made a consistent effort to send challengers to face me. I was doing more when NWA Impact gave me their X-Division belt. In fact, I will go as far as to say this belt has killed my momentum and my career dead! Before I held this, everyone was talking about Johnny Gargano, I was a future breakout star and World Championship contender, and since I won this nobody has given a damn about me. Well not anymore, this belt is garbage, and I'm going to throw it in there where it belongs!"
Before Gargano can do or say anything else, Marufuji attacks him, dropping him with a right hand before leaving. Clearly Marufuji didn't agree with Gargano's assessment of the Junior Heavyweight Title scene, and wants that belt. We have a brewing rivalry it seems.
Grudge Match
Kyle Matthews vs Jimmy Yang
What a matchup we had here, the crowd were utterly sizzling after what we saw last week, cheering Matthews' every move and booing the hell out of Yang. And Yang was certainly not in a mood to please the crowd, as he and Matthews had far from the technical classic you'd expect, instead brawling for pretty much this entire contest. Yang battled with fire and passion, something clearly lit under him that we haven't always seen in the past, he really wants to prove himself and refused to stay down, even escaping the Hidaka Lock and kicking out of a Slurpee Kick. However Yang ended up missing a Yang Time, and that proved to be his downfall, as Matthews quickly locked in a Hidaka Lock, and made Yang tap out.
Winner- Kyle Matthews
Post match, as we've seen in the past, Matthews refused to let go of the hold, as Yang winced in pain. Matthews shouted at the camera "This is you Alberto, this is whats going to happen to you when you finally have the guts to step in the ring with me". Officials run out to pull Matthews off Yang as the show comes to an end.
