NWA Extreme TV 22/02/2013[/u]
Welcome to the second episode of NWA Extreme TV. Tonight is the last chance for wrestlers to qualify for the Extreme League, so wins are imperative, or at the very least a showstealing performance.
Proving Grounds
Michael Shane vs Yoshi Tatsu
Shane: A lot of people know me as the cousin of wrestling legend Shawn Michaels, forgetting that I have a lot more to offer than that. Yes, I'm a showstopper just like he was, but in a whole different way, because unlike him I can get extreme. And tonight I'm going to prove it!
A translator was not available to help Yoshi Tatsu, so h won't be cutting a promo
The match: After a lockup, Shane took Tatsu down with an armdrag, only for Tatsu to return the favour after a second lockup. After a few exchanged holds, things sped up as Tatsu took Shane down with a Clothesline and a Dropkick, forcing him to the outside, then Tatsu dove through the ropes onto Shane to a big pop from the fans. Tatsu threw Shane back in and ran the ropes, looking for a big kick, only for Shane to take him down with a Drop Toehold followed by a running elbow to the back. Shane then picked up Tatsu and dropped him with a Slam, before going up top and delivering a big elbow Drop. He followed this up with Sweet Shane Music, and that was it for Tatsu.
The aftermath: "My win tonight is the first step towards recognition. When I win the Extreme League, everyone will recognise me as the big star of my wrestling family and not that heartbreak loser Shawn Michaels!"
Proving Grounds
Wade Barrett vs Tony Mamaluke
Barrett: it seems that I've been put into a match with a so called Extreme superstar in Tony Mamaluke. Well Tony, to me your nothing more than an extreme pansy. When I beat you, I'll prove that the Barrett Barrage is more extreme than anything you were ever part of!
Mamaluke: I'm a forgotten man in this business, but if anyone thinks that makes me a pushover they should think again. I'm here to win a roster spot at the expense of Wade Barrett, and 5 minutes is all I need to prove myself!
The match: Mamaluke manages to outwrestle Barrett early on, taking him down to the canvas before slapping him about the head and sending a chin flick in his direction. Barrett doesn't like that, and the two exchange punches, only for Mamaluke to eat a big punch when he ran off the ropes. Barrett is enraged, picking up Mamaluke and dropping him with the Wasteland to pin him, ending this one early.
The aftermath: Barrett isn't done, he picks up Mamaluke and drops him with the Souvenir, before posing over him.
NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title Match
"The Whole Shebang" Johnny Gargano vs "The Reflection of Perfection" Dolph Ziggler
Gargano: For those unaware, tonight's matchup is for the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title, and that means one thing, that this match is under NWA rules. This means no chair shots, no ladders to my face or anything extreme like that. And it also means no time limit. Dolph Ziggler, if your going to beat me for this title, your going to have to outwrestle me and pin me to the canvas, and I don't think you can do that. Once again I'll retain this poisoned chalice of a title.
Ziggler: Oh yeah baby, tonight's the night that the Reflection of Perfection gets his hands on some gold. You might think that your belt isn't worth anything Johnny boy, but thats only because its in the hands of a coward, not a real man like me. My wrestling skills are all natural baby, and when I win that gold I'll prove it!
The match: Ziggler and Gargano have a heated exchange of mat wrestling holds and counter holds for the first few minutes of this one, and the fact that they kept the bloodthirsty fans of NWA Extreme happy through that is testament to both men's wrestling ability. This was despite the fact the fans really didn't know who to cheer for, siding with Gargano in the end due to Dolph's sheer arrogance and pretty boy appearance. When it came to strategy, Dolph looked to wear down Gargano slowly, so he could lock in the Sleeper and put Gargano to sleep, while Gargano looked to work on the neck and head in order to setup for the Hurts Donut. When it came down to it, Gargano's strategy proved to b the more effective of the two, as he nailed the Hurts Donut and pinned Ziggler to retain his title.
The aftermath: "There we go NWA, is that what you wanted, another title defence of your worthless belt. I've been stuck with this thing for way too long, and if a genuinely interesting challenger doesn't turn up soon, I'm doing what Shane Douglas did and throwing this belt down and getting on with my career!"
Four Way Dance
"The Wildcat" Kofi Kingston vs "The Chosen One" Drew McIntyre vs "The All American American" Jack Swagger vs "The Intellectual Saviour of the Masses" Damien Sandow
With 4 wrestlers involved, we will give only the winner promo time. This will be the case for all multi-man matches.
The match: 4 men had only 5 minutes to get the drop on each other, and that meant utter anarchy from the opening bell. All 4 men went at it in the ring, with Kingston and Sandow continuing their battle from last week, while Swagger and McIntyre also battled away in a rematch from their North American Title tournament matchup. Swagger and McIntyre ended up on the outside, as McIntyre grabbed a chair and looked to drop Swagger with a Future Shock onto it. Swagger however grabbed McIntyre and PUT HIM THROUGH THE ANNOUNCERS TABLE WITH THE DOCTOR BOMB! The fans go nuts for that, but in the process Swagger is missing whats happening in the ring. Sandow hit a Low Blow on Kingston when he was going for the Boom Drop, then quickly hat the Terminus and pinned Kingston before Swagger could make the save.
The aftermath: "Filthy, uneducated masses of New Jersey, once again I have shown that I don't need weapons, nor do I need to break rules to be the best. Whether or not you hate me, my victory tonight all but assures me of a place in the Extreme League, and when I win, I'll have done it without having so much as touched a weapon. Your welcome!"
"Supermex" Hernandez vs "The Technical Messiah" Alex Shelley
Hernandez and subsequently Alex Shelley turned down pre-match promo opportunities.
The match: With only 5 minutes to work with, Shelley knew he had to move fast here, he couldn't afford to wear down a massive opponent like Hernandez, so from the opening bell he went after Hernandez's leg like a hawk, putting on every single hold he could to take him down. Hernandez on the other hand simply had to use that power of his to throw off Shelley, and a big Body Press Slam sowed just how dominant he could be. But Shelley's strategy paid off when as Hernandez went for the Border Toss his leg gave way, and Shelley pounced. He locked in a Single Leg Boston Crab, and while Hernandez tried to hold on until the time limit expired, he tapped with just 10 seconds to go.
The aftermath: Shelley and Hernandez shook hands afterwards, with Shelley raising the hand of Hernandez.
Tyler Black vs "The Kentucky Gentleman" Chuck Taylor
Black: I had a bit of a setback last week when Cibernetico destroyed me, something which I feel angry that I couldn't do anything about. But in Chuck Taylor I have an opponent who suffered an equally humiliating loss. Thats why I'm confident that this match will be mine!
Taylor: My loss to Brock Lesnar wasn't anything to do with my size or even Lesnar's raw power, I lost last week because I got overconfident. I thought because I won NWA Entertainment's Royal Rumble that I could win anything, only to be brought back down to earth with a bang. But I have a chance at redemption tonight, and I know this match is critical to my chances. Tyler, I have a lot of respect for you, but I have to beat you to get back to where I want to be, the top!
The match: Black and Taylor shook hands before the bell, before locking up and exchanging holds, a exchange which ended in a stalemate. The two had a second exchange of holds, and this again ended in a stalemate, but the match was nearly 2 minutes old at this point, and both realised they had to step things up. Taylor missed a Dropkick as Black charged the ropes and nailed a big Forearm, knocking Taylor outside the ring. Black charged the ropes and went for a Suicide Div, ONLY TO EAT A CHAIRSHOT FROM TAYLOR! The fans explode for that as Taylor throws Black back in and goes for the cover, but Black kicks out. Taylor goes for the Awful Waffle, but Black slips out and takes Taylor down with an awesome Reverse Hurricanrana. He goes for the cover but only gets two. Black then heads up top and wants to go for the Phoenix Splash, but Taylor moves and Black eats canvas. Taylor lifts up Black and tosses him to the corner, before grabbing the chair and hitting a Brodie Knee assisted by the chair. 1-2-NO. Taylor again goes for the Awful Waffle, but Black slips out and goes for God's Last Gift, which Taylor escapes from, only for the time limit to expire! Its fan decision time and this is a really close one. THE FANS CHOOSE TAYLOR!
The aftermath: Black and Taylor shake hands and embrace, as Taylor has gotten back on track here in a big way.
Jimmy Yang vs "The Most Hybrid Athlete in the NWA" Kyle Matthews
Both men decline pre-match promos, saying that they've said all they are going to say about each other.
The match: Who would have thought the random match draw would throw this up, as once again Matthews and Yang meet. And it was just as heated as expected, with both men going straight into a fight, brawling on the canvas and then to the outside of the ring. Matthews tore off some of his wrist tape and choked Yang with it, then grabbed a chair and smacked Yang across the back. Yang escaped into the ring, and when Matthews followed Yang took him down with a Spin Kick. Realising this could be his best chance, Yang goes up top and hits the Yang Time, and he has Matthews beat, but refuses the cover. Why? He wants to hurt Matthews some more, grabbing the chair and readying Matthews for a chairshot. He goes for it, but Matthews moves and Slurpee Kicks the chair in Yang's face! HIDAKA LOCK! Yang has no choice but to tap.
The aftermath: "That's twice Yang, looks like I really did deserve a title shot more than you. Alberto Del Rio, once again I've proven myself worthy, and yet you continue to avoid me. Whats wrong champ, are you scared I'm going to hurt your little arm again? Well you should be scared champ, because when I get you in the ring I'm going to snap your arm off and end your career and your life. Because I'm the most hybrid athlete in the NWA, and your next World Champion!"
"The Axe Murderer" Ace Steel vs Cibernetico
Steel: SOMEBODY'S GONNA DIE!
Cibernetico: Ace Steel, an axe doesn't make a man, indeed weapons don't hold value to me. All I need is my power and my mind, and when I use those things, you don't stand a chance.
The match: Steel immediately charges at Cibernetico with his axe, but Cibernetico grabs it and tosses it out of the ring (injuring a ring attendant in the process). With no axe, Steel is cannon fodder for Cibernetico, who grabs him and drops him with the Garra Cibernetica, and thats it for Steel.
The aftermath: As Steel chases after the injured ring attendant with his axe, Cibernetico darkens the arena and basks in the green spotlight. Could the Extreme League finally be the place where he becomes a megastar?
Ultimo Guerrero vs "The War Machine" Brock Lesnar
Guerrero declined a promo, saying he has said all he needs to in NWA Mexico.
Lesnar: Ultimo Guerrero, you stole something that belong to me, my NWA Entertainment Tag Team Title belt. And while that belt doesn't exist anymore, the anger your actions caused me does. I'm going to end your career tonight Guerrero, and send a message to anyone who thinks they can steal from me!
The match: Guerrero charges immediately, and gets a few Dropkicks in that rock the big man, then goes for a Cross Body which takes Lesnar down for a quick 1 count. But Lesnar rolled through, holding Guerrero in position and delivers some Rib Breakers, then drops Guerrero with a Triple Powerbomb that damn near breaks Guerrero in half. Lesnar then picks up Guerrero, dragging him to the corner and hitting some big Knees, before tossing him to the canvas with a Belly to Belly. Lesnar then picks up the limp Guerrero and nails the F5, before locking in the Brock Lock. Guerrero taps like crazy as Lesnar win this one in dominating fashion.
The aftermath: Lesnar refuses to let go of the hold, carrying Guerrero around the ring in the hold like some kind of trophy, as his girlfriend begs for Lesnar to stop. Officials finally run out to get Lesnar off Guerrero, but as Lesnar leaves the damage has already been done, as Guerrero looks to be seriously hurt. He's carried out on a stretcher as the fans applaud.
"The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs Kyle O'Reilly
Daniels: O'Reilly I know that your him, and I have to take action. You've messed with the wrong man, you don't scare me at all. Christopher Daniels isn't paranoid dammit. I'll beat you tonight Suicide, and then nothing will stop me or The Unholy Trinity. And thats the gospel according to the Fallen Angel.
O'Reilly turned down a pre-match interview again.
The match: Daniels tackles O'Reilly, but thats a bad idea as O'Reilly started pounding on Daniels with knees, causing him to run for cover. The fans chant "Suicide" as Daniels looks really agitated, even looking around to see if Suicide was here. O'Reilly took this opportunity to dive out onto Daniels, before throwing some big rights and lefts. O'Reilly throws Daniels back in and grabs the ankle of Daniels, planning to go for the Anklelock. But Daniels nails an Enziguri, followed by an STO. He signals for the Angels Wings, but then the lights go out, and this plays on the big screen-
When the lights come back on Daniels can't move, he looks scared for his life, and O'Reilly takes full advantage. ANKLELOCK! Daniels taps out, O'Reilly win this contest.
The aftermath: Daniels continues to look paranoid, even throwing some rights when he thinks he hears something right behind him. Suicide really has Daniels scared!
"The Notorious 187" Homicide vs "The King of Controversy" Teddy Hart (10 Minute Time Limit)
Homicide: Teddy Hart, last week you did the unthinkable and attacked me in front of my people. But its not the attack that got me mad, its the disrespect you showed me thats got me mad. I'm no has-been Teddy, and I know that your a never will be. You fucked up everywhere you've been, and NWA Extreme is the only company where your brand of wrestling is considered anywhere acceptable. We go way back, I've beaten you so many times in New Jersey already, and I'm going to do it again. Your going down Hart, I'll send you back to Canada in a bodybag.
Hart: The most controversial star in this sport, is that what I am? Or am I simply someone who speaks the god damn truth! Homicide, I hate the fact that you of all people have been chosen to be the face of this company, all because you wrestled here for a few years. Big deal, I wrestled here for years to and beat you more times than I can count. When I beat you again in the main event Homicide, I'll prove that you have no place being in the same ring as someone with my legacy, as I begin my path to becoming the King of Extreme!
The match: Homicide nails a Tope Con Hilo as Hart makes his entrance, wasting no time in going after him. Homicide unloads on Hart with rights and lefts, taking him all around the ringside area and throwing him into just about everything. He grabs a chair and tosses it in Hart's face! Then he throws Hart back into the ring, gets out his fork and starts digging it into the forehead of Hart, busting him wide. Maybe Hart messed with the wrong man? Homicide takes Hart down with a Lariat, then looks to go for the Cop Killa, but JACK EVANS RUNS OUT FROM THE CROWD! He leaps up to the top rope, taking Homicide down with a Hurricanrana. Hart grabs a ladder as Evans nails a 630 from the top onto Homicide. Hart sets up the ladder, TRIPLE HART BYPASS FROM THE TOP OF THE LADDER! Hart makes the cover, 1-2-3, Homicide has been screwed over in a big way!
The aftermath: Hart and Evans look to finish the job, only for Hernandez to run in and make the save. Next week we will see Homicide and Hernandez take on Teddy Hart and Jack Evans in NWA Extreme's first ever tag tam match, see you then folks!
