This show was a proper pain to write, again I am struggling to get my vision on paper as I do have a clear idea of what I want to do, but getting it written is more difficult. So as well as feedback on the show, I'd also appreciate some feedback on how I can make it easier to write my shows, even if it means changing up my style a bit.
NWA Extreme TV 29/03/2013
Welcome to the final NWA Extreme TV before the 2nd ever Extreme League. Tonight is the final chance for 8 wrestlers to prove themselves worthy of becoming the King of Extreme, and those 8 men will be revealed at the end of tonight's broadcast. But don't forget we have a very big main event tonight, that being Alberto Del Rio defending the NWA World Heavyweight Title against none other than "The War Machine" Brock Lesnar.
Proving Grounds
"The Anarchist" Arik Cannon vs Quiet Storm
Quiet Storm gets another shot while Cannon is getting his first opportunity after impressing in NWA Underground. Lockup and Cannon grabs a Headlock, and then tosses Storm into the ropes. Storm avoid it though and takes Cannon down with a Headscissors and a Dropkick, then throws Cannon outside and nails a Body Press over the top onto him to wow the fans. Storm throws Cannon back in and calls for the STORM CRADLE DRIVER, but Cannon grabs Storm in mid move, taking him over with a nasty Backdrop Driver. Cannon then nails the Glimmering Warlock, and thats all for Storm.
Winner- Arik Cannon
KENTA vs "The Angel of Death" Azrieal
Both these men have been on the end of a lot of losses since their debuts, but Azrieal may have hit a turning point with a win last week and a win over Jeff Hardy at NWA Underground #2. The two start by exchanging kicks, and KENTA comes out on top during that exchange. Indeed Azrieal gets sent to the outside because of those kicks, but answers by dropkicking KENTA in mid-dive as he went for a Suicide Dive. KENTA stumbled to his feet as Azrieal spring-boarded off the ropes, taking KENTA down with a Stunner. 1-2-NO, very close near fall there. Azrieal goes up top and looks for a Leg Drop, but KENTA avoids it and Azrieal crashes into the canvas. KENTA charges off the ropes and delivers a Busaiku Knee Kick. 1-2-NO, Azrieal somehow kicks out. KENTA gets Azrieal up for the Go 2 Sleep, but Azrieal slips out, DUSTED DRIVER! 1-2-3, AZRIEAL WINS AGAIN! Another huge win for Azrieal who is finally getting a run of wins together.
Winner- Azrieal
"Pure Lightning" Josh Raymond vs "The Viper" Randy Orton
Lockup to start this one and Orton gets a Wristlock, but Raymond flips out, grabs a Wristlock of his own, then takes Orton down with an Armdrag before celebrating like he just won the world series. Orton is not impressed, and only gets more angry when Raymond slaps him in the face after another tense lockup. Orton responds by taking down Raymond with a series of Clotheslines, followed by a Powerslam for a near fall. Orton looks for an RKO early, but Raymond throws him off then takes him down with a Taliban Backpack from the front, getting a near fall himself. Raymond poses, very smug about having control over Orton, then picks up Orton and takes him over with a Suplex. Raymond signal for the Corkscrew 450, but takes way too long to get up top, and when he does go for the move, Orton moves and Raymond hits the canvas. Orton pounds the canvas in anticipation, and hits the RKO! 1-2-3, Orton wins and looks good heading into an almost guaranteed place in the Extreme League this Sunday.
Winner- Randy Orton
Damaged Goods ("The Chosen One" Drew McIntyre and "The All American, American" Jack Swagger) vs "The New Age Punisher" B-Boy and "The King of Controversy" Teddy Hart
Hart seemingly wanted no part of this match, as he refused to start things off, forcing B-Boy to get in there with McIntyre. McIntyre and B-Boy had a good exchange on the mat, which was won by McIntyre, however B-Boy answered with some forearms, followed by some kicks that took McIntyre down. Swagger tagged in, and when B-Boy offered to tag Hart in he refused, ignoring B-Boy and staying on the apron. Swagger runs through B-Boy with a Clothesline, then covers with some pushups on B-Boy's chest for a 2 count. Swagger looks for the Doctor Bomb, but B-Boy slips through his legs and rushes to tag Hart, but Hart leaps off the apron and begins to leave. Swagger attacks from behind and drops B-Boy on his head with a German Suplex. He tags in McIntyre and holds him in position for McIntyre's Future Shock! 1-2-3, Hart has effectively cost B-Boy this matchup, what was his problem with B-Boy?
Winners- Damaged Goods
Dan Maff w/BJ Whitmer and Xavier vs Sheamus "Fella"
This one stems from a match at the 2nd NWA Underground show, where these two had quite a hard hitting exchange during their six man tag. And the two started where they left off, firing big punches and forearms at each other, as this one proved to be wild. But when things spilled to the outside, The Prophecy got themselves involved, and Sheamus stood little chance in a 3 on 1 situation. The match got back in the ring as Xavier passed Maff a chair, and he prepared for a chairshot. Maff misses however, and SHEAMUS BROGUE KICKS THE CHAIR IN MAFF'S FACE! Sheamus goes for the cover, but Whitmer and Xavier are in to break it up. Xavier kicks Sheamus in the balls, as Whitmer grabs Sheamus, EXPLODER ON THE CHAIR! Whitmer and Xavier put Maff on top of Sheamus, and the ref reluctantly counts, 1-2-3. A win is a win even if this was very unfair on Sheamus, but with no rules in NWA Extreme there is nothing to stop The Prophecy doing this again and again. Dan Maff however just got the biggest win of his career over a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion and the current NWA UK Champion!
Winner- Dan Maff
As Maff and Xavier put the boots to Sheamus, Whitmer takes the mic.
Whitmer: This is another message to all of you back there, next week our "angel" reveals himself, our leader through the darkness of NWA Extreme will be revealed. And he will bring about the end of honour in wrestling, and the end of days!
We are backstage with ACH ahead of his match with Samuray Del Sol
ACH: A lot of people think I may have a grudge towards Samuray Del Sol after he attacked me last week. Well I don't, because I don't think its Samuray who's the bad guy here, in my opinion its Rey Mysterio. This is a man in case you forgot gave up his own mask voluntarily, and chose to serve under one of wrestling's most evil men, Cibernetico. He may have experience and knowledge, but he's not using it for good and he doesn't intend to use you for good Samuray, he's using you to keep his own name relevant. When I beat you tonight, I'm going to get Mysterio in the ring, and when I get Mysterio in there, beat him and run him out of town, maybe you'll come to your sense Samuray and realise friendship is more important!
ACH vs Samuray Del Sol w/Rey Mysterio
ACH and Del Sol start this one off with a lockup, and take each other down with some arm drags, but when ACH catches Mysterio in his eyeline, Del Sol takes advantage with a Hurricanrana followed by a Dropkick. ACH falls to the outside, and Mysterio holds onto ACH to keep him in position for a Suicide Dive. Del Sol throws ACH back in, and bring 2 chairs with him. He puts the chairs between ACH, and goes up top, looking for a move while ACH is sandwiched between the chairs. 450 MISSES, DEL SOL HITS THE CHAIRS! ACH quickly looks to take advantage as he picks Del Sol up, hitting a T-Bone Suplex for a near fall. Now its Del Sol's turn to be sandwiched between the chairs, as ACH goes to the 2nd rope. BEST 450 EVER ON THE CHAIRS AND DEL SOL! 1-2-MYSTERIO PULLS OUT ACH! ACH is fuming and chases Mysterio around ringside, Mysterio slides in and ACH follows, but Mysterio slides out and ACH runs into a Samuray Kick! DEL SOL DRIVER ON THE CHAIRS! 1-2-3! Del Sol wins, but it was not without help from Mysterio.
Winner- Samuray Del Sol
2 Dudes ("The Real Showstopper" Michael Shane and "Big Rig" Brodie Lee) vs "The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson and Wade Barrett
This one has been determined to be in a traditional tag format as opposed to being a tornado tag. The Dudes pose for the fans with all the confidence in the world, looking completely unfeared by two very challenging opponents who want their blood. Shane shoves Anderson, who responds with a right hand, and Shane run straight to Lee for protection. Shane and Anderson lockup as Anderson backs Shane into the ropes, Shane then spits his gum at Anderson and stays in the ropes as Anderson is held back by the referee. Shane tags in Lee and he and Anderson circle, and Barrett is not amused that Anderson hasn't tagged him in. Anderson and Lee exchange punches, and Anderson has the advantage until Barrett tags himself in. The two argue, until Lee boots Barrett in the face, tosses him into his corner, and he and Shane beat the hell out of him while Anderson can't get past the ref to get in. Anderson finally fights his way in, the four begin brawling and the match breaks down completely, about time! Lee and Barrett brawl on the outside as Shane sets up Anderson for Sweet Shane Music. But Anderson dodges just like last week, GUN STUN! 1-2-Lee breaks up the cover, that would have been it no doubt. Barrett is in to help, and goes for a Clothesline on Lee, but misses and hits Anderson! Lee then grabs Barrett, BRODIE BOMB! Shane covers Barrett, 1-2-3! Potentially an upset considering how well Anderson and Barrett have been performing in singles competition, Barrett and Anderson only have themselves to blame for this one.
Winner- 2 Dudes
Afterwards Barrett and Anderson argue, AND A BRAWL ERUPTS! Referees come out to break this thing up, and next week on Extreme TV we will see these two meet in a one on one rematch.
"The Shooter" Vordell Walker vs Chris Dickinson
These two met a few weeks ago in singles competition, with Walker coming out on top in that one, and this is the rematch. The two have an intense lockup, which ends in a stalemate, before the two go straight to exchanging forearms. Those forearms soon change to stiff punches, and a lucky shot by Walker dazes Dickinson, sending him to the canvas! Walker pounds away on Dickinson with rights and lefts, before Dickinson escapes the ring. Walker chases Dickinson around ringside, but it was a clever trick by Dickinson who grabs the ring bell and smacks Walker with it! Walker is busted open as Dickinson throws him back in. Dickinson then lifts up Walker for a Delayed Vertical Suplex, holding Walker up for a good 20 second to allow all that blood to flow to his head and pour out of that open wound. Dickinson then starts kicking away at that forehead, busting Walker open further. Dickinson looks to go for the brutal Brain Drill, but Walker reverses it into a desperation German Suplex. Walker fires up and gets a few big punches, before hitting an Exploder. Walker then looks for the Juji-Gatame, but its Dickinson's turn to daze Walker, firing a right hand that knocks Walker loopy. BRAIN DRILL! 1-2-3! Chris Dickinson just gave Vordell Walker his first loss in NWA Extreme, it may have been aided by blood loss but it was damn impressive all the same.
Winner- Chris Dickinson
As Dickinson leaves, Walker grabs the mic.
Walker: Dickinson, as you can see we both have 1 win each in this little series of ours, so what do you say we step it up a notch for the rubber match. You see I don't want to wrestle you any more Dickinson, I want to fight you, so how about we do this in a shoot fight. You name the time, date and location and we will settle this like men!
Dickinson looks on with a smirk on his face as Walker leaves, I assume he plans on accepting the challenge.
NWA World Heavyweight Title Match
Alberto Del Rio vs "The War Machine" Brock Lesnar
Del Rio is very tentative here, and Lesnar immediately tries to take advantage of that, charging at Del Rio and chasing him outside of the ring and around ringside. As Lesnar slides back in, Del Rio attacks furiously with stomps, elbows and everything he can throw at Lesnar. Del Rio foolishly poses when he has Lesnar down, AND LESNAR GETS RIGHT BACK UP! He waits for Del Rio to turn around, AND LEVELS THE CHAMP WITH A CLOTHESLINE! Lesnar starts pounding away at the champion with knees and forearms, showing no mercy as Del Rio is busted open. Lesnar picks up Del Rio and delivers a TRIPLE Rib Breaker, then tosses him across the ring with a Fallaway Slam. Lesnar goes outside the ring and grabs the ring steps, taking them into the ring and setting them down. He picks up Del Rio, GERMAN SUPLEX ONTO THE STEPS, HOLY SHIT! He picks up Del Rio who can barely stand, TRIPLE POWERBOMB ON THE STEPS! Del Rio is a beaten and bloody mess, and Lesnar leaps onto the steps, squashing Del Rio's blood soaked head against them with his foot and raising his arms like he's already won, the fans in a stunned silence. This isn't a wrestling match, this is a massacre and Lesnar is sending a message to everyone in the NWA with this! Lesnar calls for the F5, and he wants to do it on the ring steps, if he does that it could be Del Rio's career that ends, not just his title reign. He gets Del Rio up, but he escapes and gets a desperation Enziguri to take Lesnar down briefly. Kyle Matthews is now out, and walks slowly down to ringside, with a steel chair in hand. Del Rio and Lesnar exchange some forearms, but Del Rio is distracted by Matthews at ringside and can't focus. Lesnar charges through Del Rio with another big Clothesline, and calls for the F5. He gets Del Rio up, but here comes Matthews, CHAIRSHOT TO LESNAR! Matthews smashes the chair repeatedly onto Lesnar's right arm, as the challenger screams in pain. Matthews leaves as a bemused Del Rio puts Lesnar in the Cross Armbar. Lesnar refuses to tap, and eventually passes out in the hold as Del Rio is declared victorious.
Winner- Alberto Del Rio
Kyle Matthews gets a mic and has something to say.
Matthews: Brock, don't take this personally, but I had to do what I had to do to make sure me and Alberto meet one on one this Sunday, because me and him have a way bigger history than you and I, and I've fought too long and too hard to miss out on my shot. Alberto, I just saved your career and your belt, but thats not going to save you this Sunday when the most hybrid athlete in the NWA finally achieves his destiny and win the NWA World Heavyweight Title!
The show ends with Del Rio and Matthews staring each other down, and Lesnar having his arm attended to by medical staff.
But before we leave, we cut to Magnus D backstage, as he is set to announce the 8 participants in the Extreme League. They are-
Dan Maff
Drew McIntyre
Karl Anderson
Randy Orton
Samuray Del Sol
Sheamus
Vordell Walker
Xavier
