So I've changed my writing style back to my more summary based style for now, as I figured it would be better to write in a style I find more fun. I liked doing the PBP style but it was getting increasingly difficult to keep fresh for me, and writing this way I had a blast writing the show.
NWA Extreme TV 05/04/2013[/u]
The show begins with announcer Josh Matthews in the ring.
Matthews: Ladies and gentleman, please welcome the NEW NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Kyle Matthews!
The fans explode as Matthews comes out to a standing ovation, carrying his newly won belt over his shoulder. He may have had a very hostile reaction in Mexico, but in New Jersey the fans are treating him like royalty.
Matthews: "First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you, had it not been for all the cheers and the encouragement you gave, I might not be holding this belt right now. "
The fans cheer huge and start a "Matthews" chant.
Matthews: "You see, its been a hard road to this position, one I never truly believed I would reach. Until a year or so ago, I was wrestling for a few bucks a night, killing my body and wrestling all over the country, trying to get noticed by the big leagues. I worked damn hard and outside of a few looks by Impact, I never really got my opportunity. Then Magnus D took a chance on me, put me on the 1st Hybrid Pro show against Carlito, and ever since I've never looked back.
A lot of people might think I'm too small for this belt, or not enough of a superstar, well thats bullshit as far as I'm concerned! I'm living proof than anyone, and I mean anyone can be a World Champion, regardless of age, size, background or anything else. And thats the message I want to give the locker rooms of all the NWA promotions, that I know there's some potential World champions out there, guys who could easily carry the torch, and I want to give you the same opportunity that I got. I want to defend this belt every night against all challengers, on every single NWA show possible. Whether your some so called big superstar or a youngster just starting out, I'll not turn down a challenge, I will defend against anyone, anytime and prove that not only am I the greatest wrestler on the planet today, but the most hybrid athlete in the entire NWA!"
The fans cheer as Matthews poses with the belt, but before he can leave the music of Brock Lesnar hits, and out comes "The War Machine".
Lesnar: Hey Matthews, I think your forgetting one thing. You promised me a title shot pal, after you cost me mine last week. Well, I'm here and your here, so how about we do this right now!
Matthews: In case you've forgotten Brock, you already have a match tonight against Karl Anderson for the NWA Extreme Heavyweight belt. Maybe you should focus on that first, then we can discuss your rematch.
Lesnar: You think I don't know that you little punk! I can take him and you in the same night. Heck, if it wasn't for you, I'd be the one holding that belt right now. Everyone saw what I did to Alberto del Loserio last week, I beat him within an inch of his life, and then you had to stick your nose in and cost me. You know why, because your a coward and a phony Matthews, who was scared to face me, and you don't deserve to hold that belt. Had you not gotten involved, Sunday would have been very different, as rather than Alberto embarrassing himself in his home country, it would have been me embarrassing you in the most one sided NWA World Title match of all time. Because what I did to Alberto is nothing compared to what I'd do to you!
Lesnar throws down the mic and leaves, with Matthews looking on very annoyed, Lesnar having embarrassed him on his big night of celebration.
Proving Grounds
"Pure Lightning" Josh Raymond vs ACH
ACH was given a chance to win his recently lost roster spot back here against the self-proclaimed "Pure Lightning" Josh Raymond. Raymond's arrogance was on full display again, as he celebrated almost every big move and advantage that he managed to get over ACH, trying to humiliate him as well as win the matchup. Raymond's arrogance almost got the best of him on several occasions, allowing ACH a path into the matchup, and he hat some of his highly impressive high flying moves to wow the audience and prove he belongs in NWA Extreme. However Raymond eventually managed to make ACH tap to the Sharpshooter, winning this matchup in the process. ACH has definitely earned another look, but he needs to win one of these matchups if he is to secure a spot on the NWA Extreme roster.
Winner- Josh Raymond
Samuray Del Sol w/Rey Mysterio vs Matt Taven
Before the match can begin, Taven has something to say.
Taven: Samuray, do you really need this old douche dragging you down? Your awesome man, a high flier of the highest magnitude, and yet you hang around with a lucha guy who should have retired years ago. I've got a vision for a bunch of guys just like us, talented young superstars who need a purpose, and I want you to be part of it. What do you say, ditch the loser and join us for the big reveal tonight, or hang around with the midget?
Mysterio looks really offended and goes over to shout at Taven, ONLY TO EAT A SAMURAY KICK! Del Sol and Taven shake hands and leave as Mysterio lies on the canvas clutching his face. What do Del Sol and Taven have planned?
Before the six man tag can begin, BJ Whitmer takes the mic.
Whitmer: Well fans, I promised you that our angel and saviour would be here tonight. I didn't however say that they would be one person. Our angel is set to join us first of all, and then later on, your going to meet our saviour. Ladies, gentlemen, please welcome the new "Angel of Death" of The Prophecy, Azrieal!
The fans boo as Azrieal comes out, revealing that he's the newest member of The Prophecy. The question is, who is the saviour?
Six Man Tag
Sheamus, Jeff Hardy and Jack Swagger vs The Prophecy ("The Angel of Death" Azrieal, Dan Maff and BJ Whitmer)
A really fun six man tag here, with lots of quality action. Maff and Sheamus continued their recent rivalry, beating the hell out of each other for the majority of the match with fists and every weapon they could get their hands on, while the other 4 wrestled a more mat based game, with the addition of Azrieal and Jeff Hardy with their high flying style making for an interesting diversion from what we have been used to from The Prophecy and Sheamus rivalry. Just as things looked to be heading in the direction of Sheamus's team, Bray Wyatt of all people made his way out, shaking hands with the fans on his way down and getting up on the apron, getting in Sheamus's face. This allowed Maff to sneak up behind, grab Sheamus and drop him with a Burning Hammer, getting the 3 count and pinning the former World champ for a second time in the space of 2 weeks!
Winners- The Prophecy
As The Prophecy beat down Sheamus and Damaged Goods, Bray Wyatt gets a mic
Wyatt: My brothers and sisters, perhaps my original vision of my family was misguided, it didn't have clarity nor true numbers. But my new vision, my prophecy will save the souls of those who sin, by casting them into hell where they belong with my dear old daddy!
Wyatt laughs as The Prophecy kneel before Wyatt, the man they have dubbed their saviour.
"The Shooter" Vordell Walker vs "Big Rig" Brodie Lee w/"The Real Showstopper" Michael Shane
Brodie Lee had a chance to prove himself here against one of the fastest rising stars in NWA Extreme, Vordell Walker, a man who was unlucky to lose out to Karl Anderson in the 1st round of the Extreme League last Sunday. Lee's size and power made for a difficult challenge for Walker, who had more difficulty hitting those destructive punches of his on a man this size compared to the smaller opponents he's wrestled in the past. Indeed had it not been for Michael Shane, Walker may not have won this matchup, as when Shane held Walker back from the apron for a charge from Lee, Walker moved and Lee hat Shane. That distraction allowed Walker to lock in the Juji-Gatame, and Lee had no choice but to tap out.
Winner- Vordell Walker
"The Viper" Randy Orton vs Wade Barrett
This match didn't even get a chance to get started, as before it could Matt Taven and Samuray Del Sol made their way out to ringside, distracting both men. Then, Tommasso Ciampa and Mike Bennett ran in from the crowd, attacking Orton and Barrett from behind. Del Sol and Taven join in, making it a 4 on 2 beatdown
Winner- No Contest
Taven along with the rest of this group continue the beatdown, before Taven again grabs the mic.
Taven: So here's the deal, we 4 are sick and tired of these old guys dominating this sport, and taking spots that should rightfully be ours. A lot of you might say that we are a lot like some of the other young groups who have existed in this business, like the Nexus, The Revolution or Generation Next, but unlike those losers we don't have to preach a lot of bullshit and break the rules to prove our point, because we know we are better than these wastes of space. We are all megastars in the making and are ready to prove it. What do you call us? Call us The Pistols, because just like The Sex Pistols did for music, we're going to redefine this sport with our own brand of sex, drugs and rock n'roll baby!
A big statement of intent here by the self dubbed Pistols. Orton and Barrett will be out for revenge, but you have to admit that this group doesn't look like its going to be beaten easily.
NWA Extreme Title Match
"The War Machine" Brock Lesnar vs "The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson
The two Kings of Extreme meet here one on one, with the winner becoming the first NWA Extreme Champion. Lesnar's complete domination of the 1st tournament ended with him putting Homicide through the ring with a Powerbomb, while Anderson had to battle a sliced open forehead and overcome a former World champ in Sheamus to prove his worth. Lesnar's destructive power was on full display again, only heightened by the confrontation with Kyle Matthews earlier on, but he did seem to lack some focus tonight, and played to the crowd too much. Anderson took full advantage of those slipups, those rights and lefts of his proving to be a lot more tricky to deal with than Lesnar maybe expected. Finally it looked like Lesnar would have this wrapped up, as he called for the F5, but before he could nail it Kyle Matthews came out and distracted Lesnar. Lesnar shouted in his direction as Kyle taunted him with the World belt, but Lesnar decided he'd hit the F5 on Anderson anyway. He goes for it but Anderson lands on his feet, GUN STUN! 1-2-3, ANDERSON WINS! Thanks to the distraction of Kyle Matthews, Karl Anderson does the unthinkable and wins the belt over the near indestructible force Brock Lesnar.
Winner- NEW NWA Extreme Champion. Karl Anderson
Lesnar is fuming as Anderson escapes the ring with his newly won belt, and Matthews laughs from the ramp, holding up his title. Lesnar is fuming and grabs the nearest person he can, the referee, dropping him with an F5, and destroys the ringside area in anger! The show ends with Lesnar still fuming away, and Matthews posing with his World belt.
