The ceremonial fires that burn brightly before each show make another appearance as Shaman stares into the fire with a look of sadness, and the weight of a great burden. He just stares into the flames as the reflection of the fire dances in his eyes. The flames shoot up and the show begins...
Neither man has been able to score a victory, so this match was a chance for one man to finally change his stars. The competitors are both aerial masters, with Unknown boasting a lucha libre background. The trickster, Kappa is only 130lbs. and makes cutting through the air look effortless. Unknown had a very hard time getting a grip on Kappa who would bridge and cartwheel around the ring striking quickly creating distance as much as possible. Kappa thought he had the win after hitting a double stomp off the top but Unknown was able to kick out, trying to get his hands on Kappa in an effort to start softening him up for his submission finisher. The Unknown on paper looks to be one of the worst in the Union, but his command of the air mixed with his broad knowledge of submission holds makes it a shame to see him come up short so often. It wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination to believe that Unknown is a doctor under the mask, due to his command of the human anatomy. Kappa was able to keep himself from facing submission, and was able to come out the winner after hitting a moonsault double stomp for the victory.
This is the first time that Jaguar has stepped foot inside an IU ring for a match. Abispa is the animalistic warrior that doesn't look to be stopped. Dragon King, the childhood friend turned arch enemy of Jaguar was at ringside watching intently. Jaguar has done everything possible to instigate Dragon King into attacking him, wanting to punish DK for not joining him in training, opting instead to train under a different ring legend. Jaguar wasn't in this match for honor, or to compete fairly, his whole intent was to send a message to Dragon King. If not for the lax nature of IU's rules, Jaguar would have been DQ'd a few times. Jaguar would hit the tigerbomb 98 on Abispa in brutal fashion, but opted to instead leave the ring getting in the face of Dragon King. The cold war continued with Dragon King refusing to be goaded into a fight with Jaguar, but this time he was left with no choice as Jaguar tried to cheap shot DK, who instinctively blocked and blasted Jaguar with a heavy shot! Jaguar was so stunned that he ended up tripping over some cord at ringside crawling away from Dragon King who would slowly walk towards Jaguar, establishing a bit of dominance.
At the last event, Black Ninja defended his championship against Heretic, this time he'd face off against his partner. Heretic is the thinker and the quieter member of his team, where as Scourge is out of his mind. Scourge took a swing at a fan at ringside prior to the match and tried to force a kiss on a female fan, but security was all over it, with Scourge enjoying his own brand of anarchy. Black Ninja is by far the biggest fan favorite in the Union and everyone wanted to see the hero put away the bastard. Scourge has an erratic in ring style to match his antics out of the ring, and relies on his brawling ability. Black Ninja recieved a hellish beating from Scourge, compounded by the fact that Black Widow was at ringside, and when she's around she makes sure you know it. Scourge would put Ninja down in the corner hitting a few boot scrapes, but while Scourge would go to the other corner to get a running start on a big kick, Black Widow would try to unfasten Ninja's mask! Black Ninja was so intent on keeping his mask on that Scourge was able to score with a huge kick, so huge in fact it almost gained him the victory. The match contined how ever, due to the amazing will of the Independent champion. Scourge took a shuriken bomb from Ninja but was able to kick out, rolling out of the ring to catch a breath. Ninja wouldn't allow it however soaring and scoring with a spaceman plancha that took out everyone at ringside! Black Ninja would follow up hopping on the apron and hitting a leaping side kick on Scourge as soon as he got to his feet. Black Ninja does a great job on the outside, but Scourge is the master of the street fight, and was able to use it to his advantage! Scourge and his allies were able to gang up on the champ with Heretic and Scourge hitting total elimination. Scourge was stunned when he rolled Ninja back into the ring for only a two count, this allowed Ninja to hit a second shuriken bomb, following up with a lionsault for the three count!
The lights turn purple as Overdose makes his way out to the ring, Black Ninja pulls himself to his feet with the ropes preparing himself for war! The crowd watches on as Overdose climbs into the ring and after a stare down, Overdose spews BLACK mist in the eyes of the champion! Black Ninja cries out in pain as he clutches his face, as Overdose calmly walks away as EMT's attend to the champion.
The Claw, current deathmatch champion has destroyed all comers, so this match will determine who gets another shot at the man who seemingly feels no pain! These two men are american's with a passion for the deathmatch style, and tonight they would rage war inside a steel cage that is lit ablaze! The match started out timidly with both men trying to avoid the flaming parts of the cage, but eventually Powder Keg would whip Specter into the steel, sending him screaming and stumbling from the cage. Powder Keg is a scary scary man and he wouldn't let up, slamming Specter into a non-flaming part of the cage, but a part laced with barbed wire drawing blood. Specter was a blood soaked mess but he was able to use his MMA background to aggressively fight for his life, throwing kicks to the tree trunk like legs of Keg, before dropkicking him into the cage. Powder Keg would pull himself from the cage with barbed wire imbedded into his clothing and skin, with Specter hitting another dropkick sending Keg back into the steel! Specter would ask for a staff member at ringside to feed him a pair of light tubes through the gaps in the cage, and Specter would slam the tubes one after the other across the head of Powder Keg. The sadistic Powder Keg would only smile a jack-o-lantern like smile, with glass and powder matted into his blood soaked hair, as he would finally free himself from the wire. Specter tried for a big high kick but Powder Keg would pull Specter up on his shoulders and drill him to the mat with a huge sit down powerbomb for a two count. The flames continued to dance around certain parts of the cage as the battle inside continued! Powder Keg would nail a running spinebuster on Specter, and after the brutal match it was enough to put Specter down for a three count! The rematch at the next show will be Powder Keg vs. The Claw!
