NWA Extreme TV 19/04/2013[/u]
Welcome to NWA Extreme TV. Tonight we will be crowning our first Tag Team Champions in the Scramble Tag Cup. There will be 6 first round matches, followed a battle royal with the winners, and finally the two winners of the Battle Royal will face off in a tag match, the winners being crowned the first Tag Team Champions!
Our 1st round is as follows-
Lets get straight into the tournament with our opening contest.
"The Shooter" Vordell Walker and Matt Taven vs "The Real Showstopper" Michael Shane and Ryback
The great thing with the Scramble Cup is watching how the various pairings interact. Taven and Walker worked surprisingly well together looking at this, with Taven perhaps a little fearful of Walker and not wanting to get on his bad side. Shane and Ryback on the other hand struggled, with Shane's arrogance rubbing the no nonsense Ryback the wrong way. In fact it rubbed him so much the wrong way that he decided to Clothesline Shane and drop him with a Shellshock. Taven allowed Walker to put Shane in the Juji-Gatame, which made Shane tap out. .
Winners- Vordell Walker and Matt Taven
Walker left as Taven took the mic.
Taven: This is just the beginning of what I have planned tonight, because I am all set to reveal 2 new members of The Pistols. We are only going to get stronger and stronger, until we have eliminated all the old stars who oppose us, and taken their spots for ourselves!
Dan Maff and Sheamus "Fella" vs Paul London and Azrieal
This match was a non-event, a very anti-climatic debut for Paul London as Maff and Sheamus brawled from the second they got out to the ring. The referee had no choice but to declare London and Azrieal the winners by forfeit, as Maff and Sheamus didn't care one bit about this match.
Winners- Paul London and Azrieal
Paul London takes the mic as Azrieal tries to help Maff against Sheamus, and officials run out to stop the chaos.
London: I saw what you had to say about me Bryan Danielson, and you know what I have to say in response. Your right. I was lazy, maybe my ego got too big, maybe I made the wrong choices in life, and maybe my career is slipping away as I grow older. But here's the thing Dragon, what have you done that's so different? If your the best wrestler in the world, surely you should have held the NWA World Title multiple times, yet as far as I know you've never even won an NWA belt. Meanwhile I've been a World Tag Team Champion with Spanky, I know what its like to be an NWA Champion. I know what the real issue is here Dragon, it eats you up inside that despite all your hard work, all your talent and all your pride, you've never won NWA gold, while me and Spanky, 2 guys from the same school your from have. And when it comes to it Dragon, when people look back at history and see my name in the record books and not yours, people will say I was the better wrestler!
London throws down the mic and leaves, a real fire lit under him it seems. How will Dragon respond?
TaDarius Thomas and "Pure Lightning" Josh Raymond vs "The FN Machine" Brian Cage and Rey Mysterio
You would have thought Thomas and Raymond would have struggled to be cohesive, but somehow, the flamboyance and showoff nature of Raymond merged well with Thomas and his unique MMA influenced style, and the two worked well together. Cage and Mysterio however did not, Cage refused to tag Mysterio in, choosing to fight Thomas and Raymond by himself. Finally Mysterio tagged himself in, AND CAGE RESPONDS WITH A LARIAT! Cage lifts up Mysterio and drops him with Weapon X, leaving him lying on the canvas. Thomas and Raymond both look confused, but they don't waste time as Raymond puts Mysterio in the Sharpshooter, making him tap out.
Winners- TaDarius Thomas and Josh Raymond
Cage walks up the ramp, as Matt Taven comes out, and the two high five, this explains exactly why Cage was being so hostile to Mysterio. Cage is the first new member of The Pistols it seems, and based on what he did here he's going to be a strong addition.
Sin Cara and "The Project" Tommaso Ciampa vs "The Viper" Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt
Finally a match where either team didn't try to kill each other, as while Orton and Wyatt have past tension from Orton's destruction of The Group, a faction both Orton and Wyatt were part of, it didn't stop either man wanting the gold they could win. Cara and Ciampa worked well together to, the speed of Cara and the power of Ciampa were a good combo. Orton and Wyatt were both master of head games though, getting under the skin of Ciampa in particular, and both are good technicians who were able to keep both him and Cara on the mat. The match built to a climax when Wyatt and Cara fought on the outside, with Cara hitting a massive Springboard Moonsault onto Wyatt that Wyatt caught, before he drove Cara face first into the ring post. Meanwhile Orton setup for the RKO on Ciampa, pounding away on the mat. He goes for it, but Ciampa reverses, PROJECT CIAMPA! 1-2-3, WOW, Ciampa just pinned Randy Orton clean in the middle of the ring, what a huge upset!
Winners- Sin Cara and Tommaso Ciampa
Post match Wyatt argues with Orton, blaming him for the loss and asking him to sacrifice his soul right here, so that he can be saved from himself. Orton seems t be listening, as he kneels down while Wyatt performs the ritual. RKO BY ORTON! Orton was having none of it really, this was a ruse as Orton gets some measure of success after a surprising loss.
Everyone is out for the next match, except Brock Lesnar. "The War Machine" is shown on the big screen.
Lesnar: I refuse to take part in this pathetic little tag tournament. I'm only interested in one thing, the World Title, and not in a tournament where I could beat everyone at the same time with 1 arm tied behind my back. Sorry BJ Whiner or whatever your name is, but your on your own pal!
Whitmer looks miffed, but wants to go it alone anyways. With Azrieal and Dan Maff pre-occupied with Sheamus, and Bray Wyatt recovering from the RKO he took from Randy Orton, there's nobody to help him out.
BJ Whitmer vs "Big Rig" Brodie Lee and Ricochet
Whitmer gave it his all, and to be fair on him he made a real go of it, coming close to pinning Ricochet who he isolated from Lee for a fair portion of this matchup. But when Brodie Lee was tagged in, Whitmer was already worn down and he stood little chance, struggling to combat the combination of size and speed from his opponents. Lee would drop Whitmer with a Brodie Bomb, followed by a 630 Senton from Ricochet who pinned him 1-2-3.
Winner- Brodie Lee and Ricochet
QT Marshall and Samuray Del Sol vs Mike Bennett and Chris Sabin
There was something not right here from the second the bell went, as Bennett and Del Sol ignored the fact they were on opposite sides, and closed around Marshall, this looks bad. Sabin gets in there and tries to stop them, BUT THEY ATTACK SABIN! All three men give Sabin a vicious 3 on 1 beatdown, as Bennett drops his own partner with the Box Office Smash. Marshall follows it up with the Glamour Shot, and Del Sol completes the "match" with a 450 that he uses to pin Sabin for the 3 count.
Winners- QT Marshall and Samuray Del Sol
Marshall's hand is raised by Del Sol and Bennett, as he is now revealed to be the sixth member of The Pistols. They have definitely gained a lot of strength tonight, they have to be considered favourites for the battle royal and tournament considering they have 4 entrants in that matchup. The battle royal will contain the following competitors-
Before that though, we have the NWA Extreme Heavyweight Title Match!
NWA Extreme Heavyweight Title Match
"The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson vs Wade Barrett
Anderson and Barrett have been rivals pretty much since they both came to NWA Extreme, with the two actually wrestling in Anderson's debut match (Anderson coming out on top that day). Now they wrestle with the NWA Extreme Title on the line, and it was no less of a war. The two's fists flew as much as they did during that first match or indeed any of the matches either of these men are involved with, and weapons were put to use to, with Barrett delivering some vicious chair shots plus some shots with taped fist that busted Anderson open. You can never rule out Anderson though, he escaped a Souvenir attempt, hitting the Gun Stun, which gave him time to recover. Anderson mounted a fightback, grabbed the chair and levelled Barrett with some nasty chairshots, then dropped Barrett with the Gun Stun on the chair to secure the 3 count and another successful title defence.
Winner- Karl Anderson
As Anderson celebrates, Bray Wyatt makes his way to the ring.
Wyatt: Mr Anderson if I can call you that, you've been doing a fine job as champion, defeating sinner after sinner. But are you really the man who should lead men in NWA Extreme? I think not, that would be me, a god amongst men who is worthy of drowning all those not worthy in the pits of hell, and ruling over all those who will be saved. Thats why I'm challenging you to a match for your belt on April 29th. Do you accept, or should I just condemn you to hell right now?
Anderson snatches the mic out of Wyatt's hand.
Anderson: I accept!
Anderson shoves the mic back at Wyatt and leaves with his belt, and Wyatt isn't done.
Wyatt: Now that I've taken care of my business, Sheamus its your turn. You see I know that in your sinful rage you want to seek something that mortals always seek, vengeance for an unjustified feeling of being wronged by those who are superior. You want to fight Dan Maff again despite the fact he already defeated you twice? Well I'm going to give you that opportunity of redemption, but Brother Maff is going to have some help. You see BJ Whitmer and Azrieal will be at ringside to act as the "lumberjacks" for this contest, to merely ensure that you commit no sinful acts during this traditional wrestling contest. May the best man win!
That's a huge match, but not exactly how Sheamus wanted it, one on one. Will Sheamus get his revenge, or will the lumberjacks be too much for him to deal with?
Out to the ring comes NWA Extreme's newest signing, the North American Champion Dolph Ziggler!
Ziggler: Well it seems nobody was man enough to accept my challenge. And its understandable considering I am the manliest man in all of wrestling, I'm all natural inside and outside of the ring. But luckily I found a challenger elsewhere that I think is stronger than anyone those other companies could offer, he's going to give me a real run for my money I think. Bring him out here right now!
Out to the ring comes none other than Ralphus, yes that Ralphus. He looks even more out of shape than the last time we saw him all of 15 years ago. This is a joke.
NWA North American Title Match
Dolph Ziggler vs Ralphus
Ziggler acts all wary and afraid to lock up with Ralphus, as the fans chant "f*ck him up Ralphus, f*ck him up" sarcastically. Ralphus signals to the fans that he's going to do just that, but with his back turned Ziggler nails the Zig Zag! 1-2-3, thats all and so much for that!
Winner- Dolph Ziggler
Ziggler celebrates by doing pushups using Ralphus's chest as a base, and poses with his belt like he's just had the toughest workout ever. Ziggler has pretty much humiliated the other NWA promotions with this act, the question is will anyone answer Ziggler and give him a challenge?
Battle Royal: Azrieal, Brodie Lee, Josh Raymond, Matt Taven, Paul London, QT Marshall, Ricochet, Samuray Del Sol, Sin Cara, TaDarius Thomas, Tommaso Ciampa, Vordell Walker
Immediately, all the other 10 wrestler charge after both QT Marshall and Samuray Del Sol, eliminating them from the match, thus cutting The Pistols advantage in half! Taven is furious as this ruins any pre-match plans he had.
The match then settles down into a regular battle royal format, with nobody really having an advantage. Shockingly, it would be Vordell Walker that would be next to go, as Chris Dickinson charged in out of the crowd, grabbed him and pulled him over the top rope, thus eliminating him!
Eliminations then began to come thick and fast. Paul London eliminated Ricochet, while Brodie Lee showed impressive strength to toss Sin Cara over the top with a Body Press. London then got another elimination as he sent Josh Raymond out after a Dropkick.
Matt Taven managed to one up a rival faction in The Prophecy, tossing out their only entrant Azrieal. But The Pistols presence was soon dropped again as TaDarius Thomas shockingly eliminated him with a Capoeira Kick that sent him flying over the top to the outside.
Our final four is Brodie Lee, Matt Taven, Paul London and TaDarius Thomas. Lee was the immediate target due to his size, but it was foolish for all three to go after him, he booted Taven in the face, Clotheslined Thomas and tossed out London, a major surprise!
Thomas then went after the leg of Lee, trying to get him over any way he could. Taven saw an opportunity, he grabs both Taven and Lee by the legs AND TOSSES THEM BOTH OVER! Taven win the match, but who is he facing?
We go to an instant replay, and according to it, both Lee and Thomas's feet hat the floor at the same time! Therefore both will be entered into the final which makes it a 3 way tag team match!
Winners- Matt Taven, Brodie Lee and TaDarius Thomas
The final will take place after the NWA World Heavyweight Title Match, and we will find out these men's partners after that!
NWA World Heavyweight Title Match
"The Most Hybrid Athlete in the NWA" Kyle Matthews vs "Real American" Jack Swagger
These two are former tag team partners, and there was still a lot of respect between them, as the two shook hands to start this match off. The match was a fantastic battle of mat wrestling, as Swagger's amateur skills were very difficult for Matthews to keep up with, and combined with Swagger's power and size advantage Matthews had a real fight on his hands. But Matthews is as determined a wrestler as you will ever find, and had a million tricks up his sleeve, as he kept up on the mat as best he could, and put weapons to use, including a chair and a steel chain. At one point he actually used the chain to choke Swagger, not exactly an honest act, and that will only fuel the fire between him and Alberto Del Rio. Matthews came close to losing his belt, as Swagger nailed a Doctor Bomb, but Matthews somehow found the strength to kick out. Swagger went for one more, but Matthews reversed to the Hidaka Lock, and Swagger had no choice but to tap.
Winner- Kyle Matthews
Post match Matthews offered a handshake, but Swagger refused it, being somewhat upset at the use of the chain by Matthews I expect. What is going on in Matthews head at the moment, is he simply using the no rules platform of NWA Extreme to help his title defences as he rightfully should, or is what Alberto Del Rio said true, that if it weren't for the use of a weapon he wouldn't be champion?
Its time to reveal the partners for our 3 way Tag Team Title Tournament final. Matt Taven has chosen Brian Cage, Brodie Lee has picked Michael Shane, and TaDarius Thomas has gone with his partner from the 1st round, Josh Raymond!
NWA Extreme Tag Team Title Tournament Final
The Pistols (Matt Taven and "The FN Machine" Brian Cage) vs Two Dudes ("The Real Showstopper" Michael Shane and "Big Rig" Brodie Lee) vs "Pure Lightning" Josh Raymond and TaDarius Thomas
Surprisingly, The Pistols are not accompanied by any of their entourage of talent, they appear to be a group who when it comes to the big matches don't rely on the numbers approach. Taven and Cage certainly brought a lot of wrestling skill along with power, but they couldn't match the power of "Big Rig", he was a dominant force in this one as Shane also shined. Raymond and Thomas were the underdogs, but they had plenty of opportunities to show their unique team work and style, as Raymond celebrated all of Thomas's awesome kicks like they won the World Series! Raymond and Thomas got taken out after a Boot and Superkick by Lee and Shane. Lee and Cage started brawling, and Shane missed a Superkick on Taven, allowing Taven to nail the Taven Effect, get the 1-2-3 and crown The Pistols as the 1st NWA Extreme Tag Team Champions!
Winners- NEW NWA Extreme Tag Team Champions, The Pistols
The rest of The Pistols come out to celebrate as they hold their first gold already. The show ends with Taven and Cage being lifted up by the others as they raise their newly won gold into the air, and you can't deny that they deserve it, they've gone entirely by the book and beaten some top talent clean in the middle of the ring. See you next week folks!
