NWA Hybrid Pro Presents: Matthews vs Lesnar[/u]
Welcome to Hybrid Pro's latest iPPV offering, Matthews vs Lesnar. Tonight, as per the title, Kyle Matthews defends his NWA World Heavyweight Title against Brock Lesnar, Karl Anderson faces Bray Wyatt for the NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title, we crown our 1st Television Champion, plus much more.
Ricochet vs TaDarius Thomas
A hot opening match that really helped get the fans into the show. Ricochet showed why he is a former World Junior Heavyweight Champion, taking to the air with some amazing and innovative high flying manoeuvres, while Thomas showed off his unique capoeira based style with big kicks and submissions that Ricochet didn't have an answer for. And Thomas secured a massive win by pinfall, following a Capoeira Kick.
Winner- TaDarius Thomas
Post match, The Pistols come out and beckon for Thomas to leave, as their business appears to be with Ricochet. Taven grabs a mic.
Taven: Ricochet, I couldn't help but notice that you lost again here tonight, and to a stooge like TaDarius Thomas I might add. Aren't you a bit above this? I mean your a former World Junior Heavyweight Champion, a guy who we believe should be in there with the best, you shouldn't be losing to scrubs. That's why we want to make you an offer to join the most exciting young faction in wrestling today, The Pistols. Join us, and we can help you get your career back on track. What do you say?
Ricochet contemplates this for a minute, before shaking his head and heading to leave. The Pistols respond by grabbing Ricochet and giving him a vicious 6 on 1 beatdown, finished off by Taven delivering a Taven Effect. The Pistols opponents for the 8 man tag then run out, albeit a bit late, and as Ricochet is attended to by officials, our Future vs Present tag team match is set to begin.
8 Man Future vs Present Tag Team Match
The Pistols (Matt Taven, "God's Gift" QT Marshall, Samuray Del Sol and "The FN Machine" Brian Cage) vs "The Viper" Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Ryback and Wade Barrett
Chaos certainly reigned in this tag match, as the action was utterly nonstop, and we got a bit of everything. We saw crisp mat wrestling from the likes of Taven and Orton, brawling between The Pistols duo of Marshall and Cage with Ryback and Barrett, and even some high risk manoeuvres from Mysterio and Del Sol, both of whom hate each others guts after Del Sol turned on Mysterio. Mysterio gained a small measure of revenge by hitting a massive Moonsault to the outside onto him, as well as the 619 for a near fall (only broken up by Marshall). The match completely broke down towards the end, leaving us with Orton and Taven, as Orton pounded the canvas readying for the RKO. He nails it! But before he can make the cover Brian Cage is in, and grabs Orton from behind. WEAPON X! 1-2-3, Brian Cage just pinned Randy Orton clean in the middle of the ring, he is arguably on the run of his career at the moment!
Winners- The Pistols
Cage has little time to celebrate however, as the brawl is continuing. Barrett has Taven on the outside, and drops him with a Wasteland on the floor, but then eats a Glamour Shot from Marshall. Del Sol takes out Mysterio with a Samuray Kick, then throws him back in the ring along with a chair. Taven grabs Mysterio, TAVEN EFFECT ON THE CHAIR! Del Sol goes up top, 450 SPLASH! Cage has Ryback outside the ring, POWERBOMB THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE! The Pistols have annihilated their opponents post match, and both Ryback and Mysterio look especially hurt. The Pistols pose as the fans boo, but you can't deny that these young men are utterly dominating everyone they get in the ring with at present.
Lumberjack Match
Dan Maff vs Sheamus "Fella"
The lumberjacks for this contest are Azrieal and BJ Whitmer of The Prophecy, only adding to the task Sheamus had to do if he was to gain some true revenge on Dan Maff in this truly violent feud. And Sheamus fought well against the odds, yes Maff was just as big a force as he always is, but Sheamus had answers for him and indeed for the lumberjacks. Azrieal ate a Brogue Kick early on, effectively taking him out of the contest, leaving Whitmer as the sole remaining lumberjack. Whitmer then tried to get personally involved in the contest when both Maff and Sheamus spilled outside the ring, as Whitmer looked for a big Lariat, but Sheamus moved and Whitmer accidentally nailed Maff! Sheamus Brogue Kicks Whitmer to knock him out, then tosses Maff back in. ITS FELLA TIME! Sheamus charges and delivers another Brogue Kick to Maff this time, following it with a Celtic Cross to pin Maff 1-2-3 and gain revenge, albeit I still don't think this is completely over!
Winner- Sheamus
Post match as Sheamus leaves, Bray Wyatt makes his way out, a serious look on his face. He calls all members of The Prophecy into the ring and takes the mic.
Wyatt: My brothers and sisters, I promised you a prophet and a sacrifice this evening, and that is what you are going to get. First of all, let me introduce you to our prophet. He is a man of great intelligence, a smart, kind and enlightened man, who has talked with the saviour himself on many occasions. He is none other than "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero!
"The Pope" makes his way to the ring, carrying a bible with him and praying for the sinners in the audience on his way. He shakes hands with Wyatt as he takes the mic.
Dinero: Thank you brother Wyatt for your kind introduction. You see, with all the sin that exists in the NWA, we have no choice but to vanquish it all, retire the tarred name of the NWA and rebuild it as something new and fair, friendly to all and free of sin. And to begin this, we need to make a sacrifice. Following a private discussion before the show, we have decided on who our noble sacrifice will be. Brothers Maff and Azrieal, if you will do the honours.
MAFF GRABS BJ WHITMER, HALF NELSON SUPLEX! He picks up the stunned Whitmer again, BURNING HAMMER! Azrieal then heads up to the top rope to finish the job. FROG SPLASH! Whitmer is out cold, and its obvious now that he is the sacrifice. Wyatt signals to the heavens as Dinero reads from the bible, and a platform of some kind slowly descends from the rafters. Whitmer is tied to the platform as a whole stream of druids surround the ring, chanting in unison with Dinero and the rest of The Prophecy. Whitmer is then slowly raised towards the heavens as the chant continues, the fans stunned by what they are witnessing, and he eventually disappears from view entirely. The Prophecy continue to pray for Whitmer as Wyatt takes the mic.
Wyatt: Brothers, sisters, you have just witnessed a truly noble sacrifice by Brother Whitmer. We beat all of the remaining sin out of his body, then sent him to his rightful place in heaven, a place he has earned for all of his loyal yet flawed services to our saviour. Now on Friday the next phase of our plan takes place. We will reveal our antichrist, a man who when he reveals himself will make you all stand up and take notice of The Prophecy. He is a man who has been wronged, doubted and falsely accused of many things, a man who is tired of the sinful world of the NWA, and a man who envisions a wrestling world where everything is fair and all are treated as equals. That is all you need to know, because this Friday the NWA will be shaken to its very foundations, and a new, sin free era will begin!
Shoot Fight
"The Shooter" Vordell Walker vs Chris Dickinson
This match displayed the hybrid nature of Hybrid Pro, bringing all manner of different styles and matches to the table, this being a shoot fight between two men who utterly despise each other. Walker's approach to this fight proved to be based more around punching, throwing rights and lefts when he could, and trying to avoid the big kicks that Dickinson was throwing. Indeed those kicks did some damage, and Walker struggled at times to hang on, indeed if this match had come down to a points finish, I would have been inclined to vote in favour of Dickinson. But it was the unpredictable nature of MMA that proved to be decisive, as Walker out of nowhere struck a right hand that knocked Dickinson loopy, and in that brief moment Walker was able to fire away some more that sent him to the canvas. He quickly locked in his signature Juji-Gatame, and the referee had no choice but to declare this fight over!
Winner- Vordell Walker
Afterwards, Walker declares that he wants singles gold, and will get it before the end of 2013. You would be hard pressed to find anyone more dangerous in Hybrid Pro, and when the time comes I fully expect Walker to become a champion.
NWA Hybrid Pro Television Title Tournament Final
Sin Cara vs "Pure Lightning" Josh Raymond vs Paul London vs Chris Sabin
Initially this started out as a 4 way as planned, with London and Sabin having a fun exchange of mat holds with some high flying in there to, while Cara and Raymond exchanged high flying moves. But before we were even 5 minutes into the matchup, Bryan Danielson ran out from the crowd and attacked London, with the two brawling all around ringside and eventually all the way backstage, effectively taking London out of the match. The match became a battle of high flying at this point, with all three taking bigger and bigger risks. Raymond ended up taking one risk too many, attempting a big Suicide Dive to the outside on Sabin, but missed and hat the announce table head first, knocking him out cold. Cara and Sabin battled away for a final few minutes as Raymond was carried out by officials, before Sabin nailed a Future Shock to pin Cara and become the first TV champion!
Winner- NEW NWA Hybrid Pro Television Champion, Chris Sabin
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match
The Pistols ("The Prodigy" Mike Bennett and "The Project" Tommaso Ciampa) vs 2 Dudes ("The Real Showstopper" Michael Shane and "Big Rig" Brodie Lee)
2 Dudes proved to be a good match for The Pistols duo of Bennett and Ciampa, with The Pistols using the Freebirds rule to use any member of their group they so wish in Tag Title matches. Lee was easily a match for both Bennett and Ciampa in the power stakes, as well as being the biggest man in this matchup, effectively meaning he could toss Bennett and Ciampa around at will. The Pistols instead concentrated their attack on Shane, as wile he certainly was more than a match for them on the mat he couldn't match their power, as he was isolated from Lee and controlled with ease. Shane finally escaped, tagged in Lee and Lee cleared the ring with some massive Clotheslines and Boots. Lee then dropped Bennett with the Brodie Bomb, but Ciampa made the save, Lee was thrown outside the ring temporarily, as Shane got in an nailed a Sweet Shane Music on Ciampa, again coming close. Shane threw Ciampa to Lee and the two brawled, as Shane went for an Elbow from the top. Bennett moved as Shane crashed into the canvas, and this allowed Bennett to hit the Box Office Smash to pin Shane and retain the titles.
Winners- The Pistols
NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title Match
"The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson vs Bray Wyatt
What a matchup this proved to be, as Wyatt definitely gave Anderson a challenge that he hasn't faced as champion before. While the two are definitely very evenly matched when it comes to brawling, Anderson just had the edge in that department, while Wyatt had the edge in the power stakes, something he used to his advantage with some massive slams and blows. Anderson responded with those massive fists of his, beating the hell out of Wyatt, but Wyatt had another ace up his sleeve: The Prophecy. Azrieal ran down to the ring at a point where both wrestlers were laid out on the canvas following a Double Clothesline, nailing a Frog Splash on Anderson that the ref didn't see, as Wyatt had beckoned him in his direction temporarily. Wyatt made the cover but Anderson somehow kicked out. Wyatt went up top looking for a big Splash, but ANDERSON TURNS IT INTO A MIDAIR GUN STUN! Dan Maff came out to try and save the day, but Sheamus also runs out and Brogue Kicks him in the back of the head, as Anderson make the cover, 1-2-3!
Winner- Karl Anderson
Another successful title defence by Anderson, who can possibly stop him and take that belt?
NWA North American Title Match
"The Reflection of Perfection" Dolph Ziggler vs "The Real American" Jack Swagger
Ziggler wanted an opponent to defend his belt against and Swagger answered the call, and Ziggler certainly had his work cut out for him here. When it came to mat wrestling, it was very difficult to say had the advantage, with both men strong amateur wrestlers more than able to match each other move for move. Swagger's power definitely played its part, as with Ziggler being a lot smaller Swagger was able to toss him around with ease. But Ziggler had speed to aid his cause, running rings around Swagger and building up momentum to knock Swagger down. Finally it came down to luck, as Swagger went for the Doctor Bomb, but Ziggler was able to reverse mid move to a Fame Asser. He quickly followed this with the Zig Zag on his stunned opponent to secure the victory and retain his title.
Winner- Dolph Ziggler
NWA World Heavyweight Title Match
"The Most Hybrid Athlete in the NWA" Kyle Matthews vs "The War Machine" Brock Lesnar
This one has been brewing for over a month now, ever since Matthews cost Lesnar the NWA World Heavyweight Title when he was this close to winning it, before Matthews himself went on to win the title 3 days later. We all knew this would be good, but nobody could have expected what we saw here tonight. Lesnar was a dominant force, exactly as he was against Alberto Del Rio, he tossed Matthews around like he was nothing, even taking time to mock the champion by claiming Shannon Moore was a greater challenge than this! Matthews responded with anger, fury that we have never seen from him before, he went after Lesnar's arm in an almost uncontrollable rage, shouting that he won't be underestimated anymore. Matthews managed to lock in the Hidaka Lock, but Lesnar refused to tap, lifting up Matthews after half a minute in the hold and dropping him with the F5! 1-2-NO! Matthews rolls outside the ring as Lesnar feels that is his time, that his 3rd NWA World Heavyweight Title reign may be here. Lesnar goes to grab Matthews and pull him back over the ropes into the ring by his hair, but Matthews has a chair. CHAIRSHOT TO LESNAR! That's an instant DQ, what is Matthews thinking of?
Winner- Brock Lesnar by DQ
Kyle Matthews continues to attack Lesnar after the bell, smashing Lesnar in the head with the chair again and again and again, as Lesnar has blood pouring out of his forehead! Matthews has a psychotic look on his face, shouting "WHO'S TOO SMALL NOW DANIELS!" as he bloodies Lesnar more and more! He grabs Lesnar's arm and locks him in the Hidaka Lock, wrenching the hold more and more as Lesnar screams in agony, his arm potentially broken as Matthews shouts "WHO NEEDS A CHAIR NOW DEL RIO!" Kyle Matthews has lost his mind, he's snapped as he's trying to end Lesnar's career and maybe his life, as officials desperately try to get him off Lesnar. But Matthews lets go, gets the chair AND SMASHES THE OFFICIALS WITH THE CHAIR! He locks the hold back in on the now unconscious Lesnar and screams and screams with anger as the show ends, what on earth has gone on inside the head of the World Champion to make him do this?
