A bit promo heavy this show, but hopefully its going to lead to a lot of good matches down the line. Anyways, enjoy the show.
NWA Hybrid Pro TV 10/05/2013[/u]
Welcome to Hybrid Pro TV. Last week we ended on the bombshell of Kyle Matthews revealing himself to be The Prophecy's, and indeed wrestling's, antichrist. And we immediately start the show with "The Antichrist of Professional Wrestling" Kyle Matthews making his way to the ring, surrounded by the rest of The Prophecy. Matthews looks set to tell us why he did this. He is still carrying the bloodied chair he used to destroy Brock Lesnar with him.
Matthews: "Everybody was shocked when the antichrist revealed himself, nobody saw it coming or knows why I've become pro wrestling's biggest threat. Well, I'm going to tell you why. You see, the NWA is what turned Kyle Matthews into the antichrist. That's the wrestlers, fans, promoters, board of directors and anyone else who's involved with this pathetic excuse for a wrestling organisation. And I'm going to explain why right from the beginning.
It all started when I issued my challenge to Alberto Del Rio for this belt. When Del Rio dodged me for months, not even acknowledging my challenge, did the NWA do anything to help make the match a reality? Not one thing. Then when I finally did get my shot, Alberto changes it and gives Jimmy Yang the shot, and the NWA were perfectly OK with it despite Yang being a nobody, because it meant I didn't get my shot. And did you fans do anything? Did you blackball the PPV, or make your voices heard to force the match to be changed? NO, and your all just as big a part to blame as the NWA is.
Then when I finally get my shot, the NWA decide to hold the PPV in Mexico, Alberto's home country, stacking the deck against me further. I defied the odds and won the belt, sticking it to the NWA and their BOD. But because I used a chair that I might add Alberto Del Rio brought into the ring, everybody says I'm not worthy of this belt. Brock Lesnar smeared my name, Alberto Del Rio questioned my integrity, Christopher Daniels said I was too small. Nobody believes I should be champion. AND I WON'T STAND FOR IT ANYMORE! I'M THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, AND YOU WILL SHOW ME RESPECT!"
The fans are booing Matthews relentlessly, but he isn't done.
"That's why I became the antichrist, because The Prophecy share my vision of what pro wrestling should be. They want it to be a place free of sin and hypocrisy, where everyone is treated as equals regardless of their size, skill or background, and anyone can rise to the top, not just the handpicked favourites. But in order to make my vision a reality, the NWA must be destroyed, and with this belt, we hold the power to destroy it. This is what we are going to do. The NWA will send all of its worthy challengers to face me. I will defeat them all. Then when nobody is left to face me, I'll throw this belt in the trash and the NWA is dead in the water.
There's only 2 worthy challengers as far as I'm concerned. First of all, Brock Lesnar, because he beat me by DQ, albeit he left with a broken arm, and Alberto Del Rio, who is owed a rematch after his "unfortunate accident". Now..."
Before Kyle can say anything more, Brock Lesnar comes out onto the ramp to a massive ovation, the fans chanting "Lesnar" over and over.
Lesnar: "Let's cut to the case Kyle, when do I get my rematch?"
Matthews: "Brock, I'm very much a man who likes to kill two birds with one stone, so I have a proposition for you. I'll grant you your title rematch anytime, anywhere on one condition. You beat me and Bray Wyatt in a tag team match on iPPV on the 26th May. But if you lose, you are your tag partner never get a shot at me as long as I'm champion.
Lesnar: I accept, whether its a singles, tag or whatever kind of match, I will kick your ass and get that title belt around my waist. The question is, who is my tag partner?
Matthews: (laughs) Your tag team partner Brock will be ALBERTO DEL RIO!
Lesnar looks furious, he is being forced to team with a man who he doesn't like one bit in the former World Champion Alberto Del Rio. Will these two be able to co-exist?
Debutants 4 Way
"The Generic Luchador" El Generico vs "The One Man Band" Heath Slater vs John Cena vs Mark Briscoe w/Jay Briscoe
A great opening contest here between 4 very talented individuals. The exchanges between Generico and Briscoe were something else, both men are awesome high fliers with some big impact moves, and had the fans on their feet on several occasions. Slater was as annoying as ever, proclaiming himself "The One Man Band" after almost every move. Cena was not himself, the man seemed more transfixed with shouting down the fans than wrestling, and seemed to have a complete lack of regard for the rules as he broke them constantly. In the ring Slater got cocky and declared Generico to be finished, as he went for the Smash Hit. But Generico reversed to a Brainbuster, pinning Slater 1-2-3!
Winner- El Generico
Post match John Cena laid out The Briscoes with the ring bell, then ran in and kicked Generico in the balls, before dropping him with an Attitude Adjustment. Cena takes the mic.
Cena: All this time, all I've wanted to show is my true self. You see, the real John Cena doesn't give a damn about any of you, he's only in this business to make money. And now that I've tasted your boos, I like it. I'm going to be the most evil man that's set foot in a wrestling ring, so get ready Hybrid Pro, nobody is safe from "The Real" John Cena!
Big words from Cena, I guess his attacks are all part of his new attitude. If he launches more attacks like he did tonight he's going to be difficult to beat.
"The Viper" Randy Orton vs Samuray Del Sol
Orton has vowed to go through the entire Pistols to get to Matt Taven, and tonight he had match 2, that being against Samuray Del Sol. Unlike QT Marshall last week, Del Sol didn't get carried away, he was purely focused on getting Orton down for a 3 count and furthering his already blossoming career. Orton focused on grounding his faster opponent, but it was no easy task, because Del Sol was so fast, picking his spots perfectly and looking as sharp as a wrestler twice his age in there. Indeed it was pure luck that ended up giving Orton the victory, as Del Sol went up for a 450 Splash, but Orton turned it into an RKO IN MID AIR! Del Sol was not getting up from that, and Orton barely survived to win this contest.
Winner- Randy Orton
Matt Taven comes out onto the ramp.
Taven: Well done Randy, you did well to win that one against my assassin, Samuray Del Sol. But I want to up the stakes a bit. Next week I'm putting you against 2 men, Tommaso Ciampa and Mike Bennett. You can find a tag partner if you want or wrestle them in a handicap match, its up to you, but your little winning run over my Pistols ends next week!
A tough challenge for Orton, but will he go it alone or find a partner? We will find out next week.
Winners Gets a TV Title Shot on iPPV
Jeff Hardy vs "The Lone Wolf" Paul London
Two talented veterans of their craft who have never faced off in a major singles matchup collided here, with the winner facing Chris Sabin on iPPV on the 26th, Sabin was watching this from the crowd. These two exchanged high flying moves, yet there was a purpose to them, something which comes with experience. In addition ,we saw how these two have developed as mat wrestlers over the years, with some holds and counter holds being exchanged in the early goings. London and Hardy came to a stalemate when they took each other down with a Double Clothesline, but Hardy made it up first and looked for a Swanton Bomb. Then Spanky ran out of the crowd, AND PUSHED HARDY OFF THE TOP! The ref calls for the bell, and we can see exactly what Spanky did here, he attacked Hardy to get London DQ'ed, thus costing him a shot at gold yet again.
Winner- Jeff Hardy by DQ
Spanky runs into the crowd as London fumes in the ring, having missed out on a rematch for the Hybrid Pro TV Title thanks to Spanky, a man who London turned on following botched interference in Ring Warriors . Hardy will face Chris Sabin for the title on iPPV on the 26th, providing he is still champion of course. London wants the mic.
London: Spanky, your messing with the wrong guy, I challenge you to a match next week on Hybrid Pro TV, where I will prove that I was the better member of our team. As for you American Dragon, our match will take place on iPPV on the 26th May. Be there, and I'll prove why I'm the best wrestler to ever come out of the Texas Wrestling Academy!
Matt Taven along with The Pistols head to the ring, with Taven about to reveal the group's replacement for QT Marshall.
Taven: They say that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. QT Marshall's loss didn't kill us, and no other losses are going to either. And we are about to get stronger by revealing our new member, a man who will debut next in our big 10 man tag against a bunch of old dudes and other losers. Please welcome the newest Pistol, RICHIE STEAMBOAT!
Richie Steamboat makes his way out, and this is a real shocker, I thought Steamboat would be above teaming with The Pistols, but I guess he saw some reason to join them, perhaps the fact they've had so much success since they formed is what tempted him. He makes his Pistols debut next.

The Pistols (Matt Taven, Richie Steamboat, "The Project" Tommaso Ciampa, "The Prodigy" Mike Bennett and "The FN Machine" Brian Cage) vs 2 Dudes ("The Real Showstopper" Michael Shane and "Big Rig" Brodie Lee), The Lightning Express ("Pure Lightning" Josh Raymond and Shiima Xion) and Sheamus "Fella"
The original Lightning Express have reformed, that being Josh Raymond and Shiima Zion, a team which won tag gold in the original incarnation of NEXT several years ago. And they looked as sharp as ever, their teamwork combined with their charisma and unique personalities had the fans on their side and brought them a lot of success against The Pistols. The Pistols teamwork was very well executed to however, Steamboat integrated himself immediately and didn't look one bit out of place, its a masterstroke by Taven to get him into the group. As the finish drew close, Sheamus prepared for a Brogue Kick on Cage, but before he could nail it Dan Maff ran out and distracted Sheamus. This allowed Cage to recover and nail Weapon X for the 1-2-3! Interference may have helped, but Brian Cage just pinned a former World Champion in Sheamus in the middle of the ring and continues an incredible run of victories!
Winners- The Pistols
As Maff turns to leave, Matt Taven takes the mic.
Taven: Hey Maff, we didn't ask for your help, we win our matches without interference because we are that damn good. So I'm warning you and The Prophecy now, while we have nothing against what your doing, stay out of our business. Get involved again and we will make you pay.
That is quite a statement by Taven, I guess we will see in the near future whether this leads to something, or whether The Prophecy will heed this warning.
"The Reflection of Perfection" Dolph Ziggler makes his way out to the ring, apparently he has a big announcement to make tonight.
Ziggler: Oh yeah baby, the all natural reflection of perfection is in the house, and he has a big announcement for all of you losers. You see, after I was brutally and unjustly attacked from behind by Vordell Walker last week, I felt the time was right to hire a bodyguard, someone who can assure that all of my title defences go without a hitch, and protect me from thugs like Mr Walker. Ladies, gentlemen, please welcome my bodyguard, the only man with a body as good as mine, "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters!
Chris Masters comes down the ramp and into the ring, shakes hands with Ziggler and stands by the champ. Before he can say anything else however, Vordell Walker comes out onto the ramp with a mic.
Walker: Hey Ziggler, nice bodyguard, a shame that you can't back up your words though. A real man like yourself shouldn't need a bodyguard to defend himself.
Ziggler: Oh not you again, what do you want this time?
Walker: I want the same thing I wanted last week, a match against you for the North American Title belt, and I know exactly how to "earn" my shot. I want a match with your bodyguard Chris Masters next week on Hybrid Pro TV, and if I win I get a shot at your North American Title. Come on Ziggler, if you have faith in your bodyguard you'll accept my challenge.
Ziggler contemplates this for just a moment.
Ziggler: Your damn right I have faith in "The Masterpiece", your challenge is accepted. When my bodyguard kicks your ass next week, there won't be any need for me to even get in the ring with a reject like you.
Ziggler holds up his North American belt as Walker smirks then leaves. Ziggler is wrong if he thinks Vordell Walker will be a cakewalk for Chris Masters next week.
Before the main event can begin, Kyle Matthews takes the mic.
Matthews: Since I hold the biggest belt in the NWA, I can make any decision I so see fit. And I'm making 2 about this very match. First of all, it will be no DQ, and second, if any wrestler who isn't a member of The Prophecy interferes, they will NEVER receive a shot at my belt. With that in mind, let the match begin!
NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title Match
"The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson vs Dan Maff w/The Prophecy
Kyle Matthews just completely stacked the deck against Karl Anderson, he's effectively in a five on one handicap match here and there's utterly nothing anyone can do to stop this. Anderson wasn't going to go down without a fight though, as while Maff's power was difficult to deal with, Anderson can throw fists with the best of them, and he knocked out the entire Prophecy with those fists, including the World champ to the delight of the crowd. Anderson then grabbed a chair and SMASHED Maff over the head with it, busting him wide open. Anderson begs Maff to get up for the Stun Gun, BUT MATTHEWS NAILS HIM WITH THE WORLD BELT FROM BEHIND! Maff goes for the cover, 1-2-NO, ANDERSON KICKS OUT! The fans explode as Anderson refuses to stay down. Maff lifts up Anderson, HALF NELSON SUPLEX ON THE CHAIR! 1-2-NO, HE KICKED OUT AGAIN! The fans are on their feet chanting for Anderson, as Maff shouts "stay down". Maff lifts up Anderson one more time, BURNING HAMMER! 1-2-3, NEW CHAMPION!
Winner- NEW NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Champion, Dan Maff
Maff has done the unthinkable and won the Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title, but in the most one sided circumstances possible. To add insult to injury, The Prophecy continue the beatdown post match, as Wyatt drops a big Senton on Anderson, Dinero and Azrieal climb to the top and hit a Elbow Drop and Frog Splash in succession, then Maff lifts up the deadweight Anderson. BURNING HAMMER ON THE CHAIR! Matthews locks in the Hidaka Lock and screams "THIS IS YOUR FUTURE DANIELS" as the show comes to an end.
