The ceremonial fires of Shaman open the show, this time he's not alone as Mongrel is kneeling before him. Shaman let's Mongrel know that the Independent Union has been locked in a war between good and evil. Black Ninja, the hero of the Union has fallen and Mongrel is a spirit of justice. The evil warlock, Overdose is gaining power, and something must be done. Shaman embues Mongrel with power, in a green screen kinda cheesy segment.
Kenny Omega is the first outsider to step foot into the Independent Union ring. He was extremely excited by the fact, but the smile was wiped from his face by the "Aquatic Assassin" Mizuchi. Mizuchi came out to an impressive entrance using laser lights and dancing waters for a hydrotechnic display. Mizuchi is very unorthodox in style and attitude, using his wild style to hit Omega from all sides. Omega was able to shake off some of the cobwebs from a few of Mizuchi's precision kicks. Mizuchi thought he slipped away from Omega but ended up taking a Kotaro Crusher, followed up by a standing shooting star press. Omega was running with a high octane offense that almost got him the victory. Omega used a EX Hadouken to try to win the match but Mizuchi was able to kick out, following up with a cartwheel leaping enziguri! Mizuchi tried to bait in Omega but Kenny was able to duck a roundhouse kick and Omega was able to transition into a Croyt's Wrath after some position jocking to score a great win!
The young star, Talon has been on a high, going into the second round of the Independent Crown tournament as well as winning a match recently in the states. Tonight however, Talon had to look across the ring at the masked monster known as Claw! Talon was like a child compared to Claw who completely dominated the match snatching Talon out of the air and slamming him to the mat with a Claw hold slam.
When it comes to athletics alone this match had to win the match of the night. Dragon King looked a bit worn out from his match in Ring Warriors, plus the jet lag of travel wasn't helping the cause. MINORI used his extremely educated feet to put welts on Dragon King. Jaguar would come out of the back midway through the match to sit with the announce team, although he didn't say a word. The action in the ring would ramp up, with both men pulling out all the stops in this one. MINORI would drive DK to the mat with a huge spinebuster following up with elbows trying to end the match MMA style but DK would pull MINORI into his guard and get close enough to the ropes to force a rope break. The ref would stand both men up allowing the match to continue. Dragon King was a bit more cautious after taking the brutal attack from MINORI and used his impressive mat wrestling to avoid another beating, but MINORI would get frustrated hitting a rush of strikes before snapping off a release Northern Lights suplex! MINORI would try for a cross armbar but DK would protect himself following through to help himself get another rope break. MINORI tried for a desperation spinning backfist but DK would turn it into a brutal looking Dragon Suplex for a near fall. The match continued just a little while longer with Dragon King hitting another Dragon Suplex but this one would gain him the victory.
KAMI has yet to taste defeat since being summoned by Overdose, the wild man from the mid-west looked to change that. KAMI is vicious but Dakota seemed to absorb a lot of the punishment, stomping around the ring pulling at his hair before engaging KAMI again with overhand chops and big knees. KAMI showed off his strength getting Dakota on his shoulders but Dakota would slip out hitting KAMI with a big boot to the back of the head. Dakota would stomp around some more working himself up before nailing another big boot, picking up KAMI and dropping him violently with a jack knife powerbomb.
Overdose seemed disgusted with his summons loss. Paladin looked to be the hero that would stop the rampage of Overdose, who brought the locked scroll out with him. Paladin used his power and his axehandle strikes to put Overdose down over and over, before hurling him with a press slam. Overdose was dazed and shocked by the power of the religious warrior, but Overdose is a dark magician who used his brains to overcome the brawn of Paladin. Overdose would use measured attacks to weaken Paladin, but it still wasn't enough as Paladin kept coming. Overdose used his green mist to blind Paladin following up with a kick dropping Paladin to a knee so he could hit the glimmering warlock. After the match Overdose would bring his scroll into the ring, preforming a ritual to cause another lock on the scroll to pop! Overdose would grin a sickening green grin showing that there are only two locks left.
The Independent Union tag team titles are just waiting for a team to rise up and take them, and these two teams looked to start the charge towards the titles. Shaolin is already the Junior champion of the Independent Union, looking to eventually add more gold to his collection. Black Heart would come out again continuing to scout DoA, but so far they haven't been impressive. Black Heart would actually come to ringside this time taking off his ominous sunglasses watching Scourge and Heretic who tonight have a renewed vigor. Heretic looked sharper, directing his partner with ruthless efficiency. Something has been going on between Black Heart and the DoA, Heretic looks to be getting guidance from Black Heart, using it to channel some of the wildness of Scourge. Shaolin got the picture pretty quickly trying to tell Hannibal to be more cautious against this new DoA, but Hannibal is a horrible listener and Heretic would hit a shellshock for the win. Black heart would smirk, walking away as DoA celebrated.
