Location : CPW Arena
The show opened up with highlights from NWA StarrCade. It showed Daniels narrowly losing to Sheamus in the first round and then Sheamus winning the NWA Championship. It then showed clips from the Samoa Joe / Cody Rhodes match that the Miz interfered in, costing Joe his opportunity to bring the NWA Midwestern Championship to California. The last clip was Money Inc. facing off with Pure Dynamite. It was a high impact match, that Money Inc. narrowly lost. It introduced Alberto Del Rio as a 'friend' to the young rich wrestlers. We then see clips of every match at the PPV, ending with a shot of Sheamus holding the NWA championship as we fade into BreakDown!
Tommy Dreamer is in the ring. He said that EVERY match tonight had a championship implication! Win, you are in. Out, get in line! This brought out Victoria, the current CPW Women's champion. She said that was fine and dandy, but what about the ladies? What about them? Where is their opportunity? Tommy cut her off and told her to talk to the NEW director of International Relations, and head of the women's division..... EDGE!!
Edge made his way out to a standing ovation! He said tonight, there would be two matches in the women's division. One was for a for a spot in the upcoming NWA Woman's championship tournament, the other was for the number one contenders spot here is CPW! This brought out Jackie Gayda! She said she was told she was the number one contender to the Victoria. Edge told her that was then and this is now. If she is that good, then her opponent shouldn't be that much of a threat to her position! Edge also said NEXT week, we will see the debut of new female talent from the orient!
After Edge left, Tommy said tonight was the night... just you wait and see! He thanked the fans for coming out, wished them Merry Christmas, and did intros for the first match.
One on One Match
Mickie James -vs- Beth Phoenix
This match was very physical. Both ladies brought out the heavy hitting. James did a bit more high flying that she normally has in the past, and it showed that she has done some training. Beth on the other had stayed to what has taken her to championships in the past: pure brute straight. James scored several near falls over the course of the match, but in the end, Beth was just too much, and finished off James with the Glam Slam to score a spot for the NWA Women's World Championship.
Beth Phoenix pinned Mickie James with the Glam Slam in 08:51.
Interview with Alberto Del Rio
Alberto Del Rio came out and said "You know who I am.. You know were I have been. You know what I have done. But you have NO idea what I am capable of doing! Randy Orton was the beginning of my domination. My destiny is to rule the world, my legacy will be to the DOMINATION the NWA!" With that, ADR made his way to the ring for his first match in CPW.
On on One Match
Alberto Del Rio -vs- Alex Riley
ADR dominated this match. He was ruthless and aggressive, much like his days in EPW. He stalked Alex and brutalized him. Finally, he hit the Arm Breaker! The impact sent Riley rolling from the ring in pain. Alex was counted out, and eventually, EMT had to help him from the ring area, only to have ADR attack him again, throwing him into he ringside barrier, then off the stage threw a table, shoulder first. As ADR stood looking at Alex, as sadistic smile crossed his face, and he left Riley laying in a heep of splinters from what was once a table.
Alberto Del Rio defeated Alex Riley by count out in 03:08.
One on One Match
Daffy -vs- Jackie Gayda
This match went back and forth for a few minutes before the larger Gayda took control. She used her height to her advantage. Gayda finished off the 'Scream Queen' with a big boot to the face.
Jackie Gayda pinned Daffney with a big boot in 06:38.
One on One Match
Sin Cara -vs- Christopher Daniels
Daniels, as you can imagine was not in a 'giving' mood. He told Evan and Abyss to stay out of this match. He was very upset with himself with his performance at StarrCade and was looking for personal redemption. Daniels dominated Sin Cara from the onset. Daniels was really on a roll, but was stopped dead in his tracks when Cara blew a green mist into Daniels eyes just after the ref took a spill! With Daniels blinded Sin Cara started to rebuild some advantage. At that point, a fan jumped the railing and leveled Sin Cara from behind! This man was gone as quick as he came, and security gave chase to the back. Daniels picked up Daniels and DRILLED him with a HUGE powerbomb to secure the win.
Christopher Daniels pinned Sin Cara after a power bomb in 06:45.
Triple Threat Match
Robert Roode -vs- Kofi Kingston -vs- Matt Morgan
Robert Roode came out with Ted DiBiase, but unlike at StarrCade, Alberto Del Rio was no-where to be seen. Roode wrestled a strong style match, mostly using a punishing ground based attack, while Kofi tried to mix it up a bit. Morgan used a mix of speed and power. For a man his size, many were still in awe over what he can do for being nearly seven feet tall! This match excited the fans on several levels. Kofi was 'back' after the heinous attacks of the past few weeks. He looked fluid in the ring. Morgan was just awesome. Arrogant, yet awesome. And Roode was a dirty, rule breaking, finger flipping, spittin' at the ref SOB. All three men were able to show case their talents in this match, but in the end, Morgan gloated too long and Kofi drilled him in the back after Morgan had planted Roode with a Chokeslam in the center of the ring. As Kofi was getting up and getting ready to finish off Roode, Ted tripped up the young star. This allowed Roode to drill Kingston with the spinebuster slam, and literally steal the win, as Roode had his feet on the second rope for leverage.
Robert Roode defeated Kofi Kingston and Matt Morgan when Robert Roode pinned Kofi after a spinebuster slam in 13:57.
One on One Match
Anarquia -vs- Evan Sydal
Before this match started, Evan, Daniels and Abyss made their way to the ring. Evan was again dressed in a ten thousand dollar suit, not something you would wrestle in. Evan said that tonight he was taking the night off. He said last week he suffered a minor injury, and he would forgo his opportunity tonight. He said he is all about perfection, and anything less than perfection is not acceptable. Tonight, Abyss would dominate the other half of the CPW Tag Team Champions, Anarquia, just as he did to Hernandez, last week. Evan said that when either Abyss or Daniels wins the CPW championship tonight, it will be the beginning of an era, an era of dominance. With that he, Daniels and Abyss held up the 4 finger salute!
One on One Match
Anarquia -vs- Abyss
Just like last week, both men went full bore at the other. Abyss was the bigger and stronger of the two, while Anarquia had a slight speed advantage. Both men rattled the proverbial cage of the other with jaw shattering, ring shaking and heart stopping moves! Abyss mounted up a HUGE head of steam and leveled Anarquia as he sailed up and over the top rope onto Anarquia!!! Later in the match, with Abyss stunned, Anarquia came from the inside out with a flying lariat/bulldog combo type maneuver that took out the front row, as both men went crashing!
In the end, Anarquia went to the well one to many times from the top rope. Anarquia tried another clothesline, but Abyss caught him with a Black Hole Slam to end this match. After wards, Sydal and Daniels attacked Anarquia, only to have Hernandez make the save! Ted DiBiase eventually joined in and we went straight to our next match!
Abyss pinned Anarquia with the Black Hole Slam in 07:04.
One on One Match
Ted DiBiase -vs- Hernandez
This match was a continuation from the brawl that was Anarquia and Abyss. The ref ordered EVERYONE form the ringside area, or face suspension! Tommy Dreamer came out and said they had until the count of 5 or they were not only suspended, but FIRED! Once the ringside distractions were taken care of both men got down to the business at hand. These two were no strangers to the other. In the end, Ted Debase again fell victim to the taunting of Josh Walters!
Hernandez pinned Ted DiBiase with the Border Toss in 06:35.
One on One Match
The Miz -vs- Samoa Joe
Prior to this match, the Miz came out, holding an officialy licensed replica of the NWA Midwestern Championship. He said that he had in his hand the title belt that Joe could not get at StarrCade. He said that in all his years, Joe had never been able to top the Miz, and tonight would be no different! The Miz taunted Joe, calling him the "All you can Eat King", a "Salad bar Salton" and finally the "Sovereign ruler of Sushi". This brought out Joe, who was beyond pissed! Joe said, as he walked to the ring, that at StarrCade, The Miz had screwed him. Tonight, he was going to screw the Miz...... Screw him out of the CPW championship opportunity when he pined The Miz... 1...2...3!
Once Joe hit the ring it was on.... Like Donkey Kong! Both men went at the other and the ref, just got the hell out of the way! Both men had a lot of hatred for the other, and it showed! Neither man backed down. Both were bloody after just unloading on the other.
About 8 minutes in to the match the action spilled out to the ringside area. Each time the count got to 8, one would re-enter to break the count, then get right back out. This went on for over a minute, eventually both lost count and were counted out! Neither man cared as they continued to punish the other, until the man from earlier again came out, this time from the stage area and blindsided Joe! He pulled the hair form his face to reveal his identity as Dolph Ziggler! Dolph and The Miz beat on Joe for a few minutes until LAX made the save and chased them off.
Samoa Joe and The Miz battled to a double count out in 10:39.
Tag Team Match
Ink Inc. -vs- The Can-Am Express
This was a rematch from last week. Ink Inc. thought maybe it was a fluke that Angle and Smith got the win, so they came out and challenged The Can-Am Express to another match. It went about the same as last week with Ink Inc getting off to an early start, but the Express eventually using their ring smarts and power to their advantage. This time it was Smith who got the pin fall victory when he pined Neal after an impressive Saito Suplex for the win.
After the match, Angle and Smith made motions around their waist that they wanted a shot at the LAX and the CPW Tag Team Titles!
The Can-Am Express (David Hart Smith and Kurt Angle) defeated Ink Inc. (Shannon Moore and Jesse Neal) when D.H. Smith pinned Jesse Neal with the Saito Suplex in 06:27.
Tommy Dreamer came out and said that tonight.... tonight Christmas comes early for a CPW star! Right here.... RIGHT NOW he was going to fill the CPW Heavyweight Championship! He said that Eric was the boss, but the boss was on vacation, so he is running the show. He wanted to fill the championship before the end of the year, and now is as a good of time as any! So... the winners of all of tonight's matches were called out. out came ADR, Abyss, Hernandez, Roode and Daniels. Tommy said each man proved that on any given night a championship opportunity can be given to those who work and work hard. Tonight, right now is just such an opportunity! The Miz came out and interrupted Dreamer. He said that HE was to be included in the match. Dreamer told him that he didn't beat Joe, as HE said he would! The Miz reminded him that Joe didn't beat him either. Dreamer said that he was correct. Next week, it would be a step closer to be finished..... In a cage! The winner gets a CPW Championship Match at CPW Wrestling Classic in January! The Miz looked pissed, yet confident that he would be victorious.
5 Elimination Match for the vacant CPW Heavyweight Title
Abyss -vs- Alberto Del Rio -vs- Hernandez -vs- Robert Roode -vs- Christopher Daniels
It was all action from the beginning bell. ADR and Roode worked over Daniels while Hernandez and Abyss went at it! The two huge men eventually tumbled to the outside where they brawled for a good 5 or so minutes while Daniels was double teamed and eventually pined by Roode.
Fall 1: Robert Roode defeated Christopher Daniels after the Payoff in 08:42.
About that time, Hernandez dazed Abyss with the ring bell and rolled back into the ring. Hernandez threw ADR from the ring. ADR went crashing onto Abyss! Hernandez then took it to Roode and eventually pined him following a running powerslam!
Fall 2: Hernandez defeated Robert Roode after in 09:07.
Abyss then re-entered the ring as did ADR. They targeted Abyss' upper body, thus eliminating his ability to hit his Black Hole Slam on either of them. They took turns brutalizing the big man. While they weren't 'friends', they realized that they had to work to gether if either of them wanted to win. What they didn't count on was that Abyss didn't need just the BHS to beat them! Abyss was able to run through ADR, who again fell from the ring. Hernandez then suffered from a dosage of 'Shock Treatment' from the crazed Abyss!
Fall 3: Abyss defeated Hernandez in 12:14.
That left ADR and Abyss for the finals. ADR targeted the injured arm and went after it like a hunter. He hit his arm breaker to soften up Abyss for his submission. Abyss made one last come back but hit turnbuckle shoulder first! ARD hit one last arm breaker, then locked on the Cross Arm breaker!! Abyss fought the pain, and fought the pain, but eventually he passed out. The ref awarded the match and the COW Championship to Alberto Del Rio!! ADR stagered the ring a bit with he title in hand as the show went off the air!
Fall 4: Alberto Del Rio defeated Abyss after the Cross Arm breaker in 15:15 and won the CPW Heavyweight Title.
