The show opens with Dustin Smith, the NWA President, standing in the middle of the ring with a grin on his face.
Dustin: Jon Moxley… TOXIC … Bobby Fish… You’ve been a thorn in my side for quite some time now. You’ve caused me a lot of emotional and physical pain, and after I had Kane try to beat some sense into Fish I thought this would be over. Moxley you wanna come into my promotion and make threats? Well I’ve brought in someone to put an end to your reign of terror…
”The Viper” Randy Orton walks to the ring grinning, fixing the cuff of his dress shirt. Dustin smiles and welcomes Orton into the ring before handing off the mic.
Randy Orton: I never had a problem with TOXIC, but I’ve been persuded to take a stance thanks to a boost in my bank account. Tonight I’m going to start cleaning up the mess around here by facing off against Bobby Fish… it’s nothing personal, it’s just business.
The guy in the Mistico mask was obviously not the real Mistico, and this match was a joke. It was obviously Caleb Konley under the mask, toying with Redding before putting him in the sweetest submission you’ve ever seen. Redding would submit but Konley kept the hold locked on until the ref had no choice but reverse the decision giving Redding the win.
Tenay and Morton were shocked that Konley would allow himself to take a loss in such a way, as Konley would rip off the Mistico mask smirking at the crowd. Konley would grab a mic and wait a moment for the boo’s to die down.[/i]
Konley: A lot of people are wondering why I have such a hate for Mistico, why I go out of my way to make his life hell. I’ll tell you why, it’s because Mistico is a joke! I’m a second generation athlete who trained in a ring, Mistico hops around like he was trained on a trampoline. I’m sick and tired of “flippy” wrestlers taking tv time from legit wrestlers. Tonight Mistico I put on the mask to show you what a match would look like if Mistico could actually wrestle. Anytime you wanna go Mistico, just leap… like you always do, and I’ll kick your head off your shoulders for it!
The show cuts to Mike Tenay and Ricky Morton who discuss the bitter rivalry brewing between John Cena and Brock Lesnar. Lesnar came to Empire from Hybrid after losing to NWA champion Kyle Matthews. Cena was given a shot at Matthews but Lesnar came out to get his hands on the champ causing Cena to lose his shot.
This was a fun tag team match between two great tag teams. The Briscoes were so focused on getting another match with the Rockstars that it ened up giving the All Stars an advantage. Willie Mack would steam roll the Briscoes but the brothers work so well together. Willie Mack was on the receiving end of a froggy bow that gave the Briscoes the win, but barely.
After the commercial break Richie Steamboat is in the ring with mic in hand.
Richie Steamboat: My father is a legend in the NWA, and I’m very proud to be his son. I’m here in Empire because I want to cement my own legend. That’s why I’m issuing an open challenge to anyone in the back!
The open challenge brings out “The Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce.
Steamboat was full of energy, excited to prove himself to the fans and himself, but the wiley veteran Pearce was methodical. Adam Pearce took this match very seriously, it actually seemed like he was trying to help Steamboat in a strange way. Richie looked to take the match after an explosion of offense, capping it off with a cross body off the top. Pearce was smart and rolled through pinning Richie to the mat long enough for the three count.
Pearce grabs a mic after the match.
Pearce: Boy, you put up one hell of a fight. But you sure aren’t your daddy! You had a lot of guts to come out and issue an open challenge, but you need to pick your battles better or your gonna keep staring up at the lights!
The hired gun went to work trying to make an example of Fish. Orton was a bit shocked by the fight in Fish taking his first target a bit lightly. Fish eventually got fed up with playing by the rules calling in Callihan. The match ended there with Orton trying to fight off both men, that was until Corey Graves made his debut running in to help Orton. Graves is a former member of TOXIC who was violently kicked out of the group and now he’s looking to get back at his former “friends”. Graves and Orton were standing tall after clotheslining both members of TOXIC out of the ring!
What a hard hitting match between these two monsters. Garrett is as tough as they come but Abyss is able to absorb an inhuman amount of punishment. Dylan went for the lariat but got caught with a ring shaking black hole slam for a near fall. Garrett was a bit annoyed that he nearly walked into a loss (Literally). Garrett went back to work battering Abyss but Abyss was able to hit a shock drop, softening Garrett up for another black hole slam this time it was enough to get the victory.
Ziggler didn’t look to happy to be in this match, facing off against the powerhouse of Lesnar. Ziggler put up a good showing but Lesnar looked to have a chance at winning the match signalling for the finish…
John Cena would come to the ring talking trash as Lesnar fumed in the ring knowing that he was about to receive the same screw job that he gave Cena during his world title match. Cena would slide in the ring and brawl with Lesnar as the ref threw the match out. Ziggler would crawl into a corner and let Lesnar and Cena fight it out. Cena planted Lesnar with an FU, waving his hand over his face mocking the knocked out Lesnar. This led to an opportunistic attack from Ziggler who would drop Cena with the ZigZag standing over both men as the show faded to black.
