OOC: Sorry this is late, but i think you might enjoy this one. Feedback is always appreciated.
*scene opens with an over head shot of the Mesquite Rodeo Arena. It’s a packed house, and the fans are chanting. We head up to ringside, where NWA Southwest owner and Southwest Sports CEO Tom Gorgas is standing, mic in hand*
Tom Gorgas: Good evening, one and all! My name is Tom Gorgas, and I welcome you to Summer Star Wars! A few days ago, 19 brave souls gave their lives saving their fellow man, fighting wildfires out in Arizona. Would you please rise, while we toll the bell for those brave souls? *the audience rises, as the names of the 19 firefighters is displayed on the Jumbotron. The bell tolls 19 times*
Tom Gorgas: Thank you, one and all. We must never forget that real heroes do not wear capes. Tony, down to you!
Tony Brooklyn: Good evening wrestling fans! My name is Tony Brooklyn, and with me is my broadcast partner Sign Guy! Welcome to…..SUMMER STAR WARS!!!! Guy, the front office has been busy lately.
Sign Guy: Sure have, Tony. Lots of signings and releases going on. To reflect that, we got us one hell of a show tonight. Here’s the lineup-
Jaykus Plisken takes on “The Universal Soldier” Phill Shatter
Mike Dell tangles with Carlito
Ryan Genesis tangles with his old nemesis Scot Summers
Hunico tangles with Jeff Hardy, and the winner of that one will be the new NWA Texas Junior Heavyweight Champion!
Vance Archer tangles with “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan, and the winner of that one is the brand-new NWA Texas Heavyweight Champion!
And so, without further ado, let’s get this party started, and…..*crowd joins in* LET THE ASSKICKING COMMENCE!!!
This was a nice match to open Summer Star Wars with. Shatter had been in Texas before, so the Georgia boy kind of knew what kind of reception he was going to get. Plisken was the local favorite. This match wound up going all over the place, with the two of them brawling in the concession area at one point. Shatter got Plisken back into the ring, and nailed him with a DDT in 10:54.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: “The Universal Soldier” Phill Shatter
Match Rating: 2.5
Another high-flying match. This was Carlito’s first appearance in Texas, and the fans got excited. Carlito didn’t disappoint, either, taking it to Dell early and often. Carlito posed for the fans, then nailed Dell with the Victory Roll for the win.
WINNER OF THE MATCH: Carlito
Match Rating: 3.0
These two had been chasing each other all over Texas lately, and the fans were definitely waiting to see the latest installment of this feud. Genesis and Summers didn’t disappoint either. This one was fast paced, high-flying, and BRUTAL! Summers finally nailed Genesis with a Piledriver on the floor in 6:46 to win this round!
WINNER OF THE MATCH: Scot Summers
Match Rating: 4.25
The fans were mixed when this one started, but by the end, they were totally behind Hardy. Jeff Hardy turned in a textbook performance, going aerial early and often. Hunico did his best to stay with him, but hardy put him away with a Swanton Bomb to win the match and become the new Texas Jr. Heavyweight Champion!
WINNER OF THE MATCH AND NEW NWA TEXAS JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: Jeff Hardy!!!
Match Rating: 3.00
By the time this one started, the fans were excited and wanting to see a good match. This one did not disappoint! Morgan and Archer started in the ring, but this one wound up all over the arena! Archer gave as good as he got, but the 53 lbs difference between him and Morgan told the tale, as Morgan hit him with the Carbon Footprint in the concession stand to win this one, as Archer was knocked out!
WINNER OF THE MATCH, AND NEW NWA TEXAS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan!
Match Rating: 3.5
Just then, Tom Gorgas, came back out, mic in hand.
Tom Gorgas: Hold on there, Morgan! Y’all didn’t think I was done with you yet, did ya? Not quite. You see, we have a match for the Great American Bash on July 14th, and I was sitting in the back, trying to make the match, when I saw you and Archer going at it. I like guys with heart, and Archer has a big one. Sooooo, here’s what we’re going to do. Both of you are going to the Great American Bash! The NWA Texas Heavyweight Title will be on the line, and to make sure we have us a winner, it will be a BARBED WIRE MATCH!!!! Win or lose, BOTH of you are gonna bleed! Go get some rest, because in 10 days, you’re gonna need it!!
SHOW RATING: 3.25
