The show starts off with “Scarred and Undefeated” by Diablo blvd. playing along to a highlight reel of previous shows, before finally cutting to Joey Styles and his broadcast partner Don Callis. Joey Styles welcomes the television audience to the last episode of Adrenaline going into Battle in the Burgh. A show main evented with an X division title cage match between “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles and the current champion “The Embassy’s Favorite Son” Brandon Bonham! Also on that show will be “Unbreakable” Mike Elgin defending the 3RW Television title against “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson. But tonight we have a special guest and that’s the NWA World Heavyweight champion, Sheamus and tonight he defends his title against John Cena. Also tonight we feature a rematch from two debutting studs, and that’s Jay Lethal and Craig Classic. But first we head to the ring for our opening contest…
SINGLES MATCH
“The Timber Wolf” Davey Richards def. Mike Bennett w/ “Brutal” Bob
Davey Richards is a top dog in 3 Rivers, and for Mike Bennett to get a win over him would potentially throw him right into the TV title hunt. But Richards dominated Bennett from the opening bell with the explosive and unrelenting offense that he’s built his reputaton on. Bob tried to get on the apron at one point but ended up taking a standing high kick to the head from Richards, but this gave Bennett the opening to try for a quick roll up, but Richards was able to roll through and slap on the ankle lock forcing Bennett to tap out pretty quickly.
After the commercial break RD Evans and Roderick Strong were in the ring, with RD Evans on the microphone letting everyone know that as Roderick Strong’s legal consultant. He’s very upset that no action was taken over Eddie Edwards unprovocted attack on his client. So if Edwards even lays a finger on Roderick Strong prior to their match at Battle in the Burgh, then Evan’s will have to take extreme legal action against Edwards.
TAG TEAM MATCH
BLK OUT(Alex Colon & Sabian) w/ Julius Smokes def. Pure Dynamite(Josh Daniels & John Walters) w/ The Embassy
These two teams, well the only two constant teams in 3RW battled once again in a great match which showed that these two teams really know how to work against each other. The ending of the match was pretty convoluted with outside interference happening from both sides, with the end result being a brainbuster DDT from Alex Colon on Josh Daniels for the BLK OUT win.
SINGLES MATCH
Jay Lethal vs. Craig Classic
A couple of weeks ago these two guys pulled out all the stops in their debuts, with the time limit stopping the match from continuing but it’s a new week and these two guys have another chance to see who can come out on top. This rematch was as good if not better as both men tried to get the deciding victory. Craig Classic tried for a lot of the match to use the sharpshooter, but Lethal had it well scouted, and almost scored with the Lethal Injection but Craig Classic was able to roll out of the way, this time the match ended with a “double knock out”
The show cuts to the backstage area where the BLK OUT rush the NWA World Champion, laying in a two on one beat down from behind. Sheamus was able to fight back and chase off the BLK OUT but not without taking a good beating first!
3RW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
“Unbreakable” Mike Elgin w/ Elwood Gately & Luke Gallows def. “The New Horror” Sami Callihan
Sami Callihan really was in an up hill battle as he faced off against a very powerful Mike Elgin, with Luke Gallows a man he was able to barely best at Starrcade in Elgin’s corner. Sami Callihan fought like a lion but Elgin was just to dominating, taking a lot of the fight out of Callihan when he nailed him with a running powerbomb into the turnbuckles. Callihan couldn’t kick out of a follow up gutwrench powerbomb allowing Elgin to retain his TV title going into Battle in the Burgh.
NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Sheamus ”Fella” © def. John Cena w/ The BLK OUT
Once Sheamus saw that the BLK OUT were in Cena’s corner the attack earlier in the show made sense, Cena is now the newest member of the BLK OUT. Cena got his usual toliet paper style, but he seemed unphased as he locked up with the champ. This match wasn’t flashy it was hard hitting with both men throwing some concrete hands. Sheamus had to keep his head on a swivel as the BLK OUT circled the ring like a couple of sharks that smell blood. Cena tried to pick apart the champ, but Sheamus is no slouch having bested some incredibly talented wrestlers, so he wasn’t ready to lose the championship this soon. Sheamus was able to hit the brogue kick on Cena which drew in the BLK OUT. Sheamus was able to nail a huge double clothesline taking both men out. Sheamus threw his arms out feeling the energy of the crowd, but turned around into a fireman’s carry by Cena. Sheamus was able to wiggle free and hit a second brogue kick, following up with the crucifix powerbomb for good measure to retain the championship!
