The Motor City Machine Guns, comprised of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, are the first two wrestlers to enter the ring tonight, but they come with a microphone in hand and not ready for a fight. Sabin speaks first, stating that they have something to get off their chest. Two weeks ago, he starts, the two of them challenged the Prime Time Players to a match on this card tonight. And what did the world think of that, he asks? Oh, twitter blew up, but not in the way they were expecting.
Sabin pulls out a piece of paper from his jeans and begins to read some tweets that were posted to his account:
@justjoesopinions: I feel it's somewhat of a disservice to them to be going back to tag team wrestling
@mightymag1100: I think the MCMG are potentially a lot better as singles stars
@justjoesopinions: tagging is probably the best thing for them in this region until you can find a way to break them up again
Sabin plans on continuing but Shelley cuts him off. Shelley takes the microphone and looks at various sections of the crowd. "Who do you think you are? Since when did Tag Team wrestling become so low on the totem pole that when we strive to become World ... World! Tag Team Champions we are doing a disservice to our careers?" Both men look pissed, and Sabin takes the microphone once again. He tells "Just Joe" that no one - not the Pacific Northwest fans, not the Pacific Northwest booking office, not the National Wrestling Alliance head office, and not any wrestler or team on this planet - will stop them until they are the World! Tag Team Champions!
Shiima Xion
versus
Trent Barreta
Both men are making their Pacific Northwest debuts tonight and looked to provide a fast paced opener to get the crowd rocking, and they did just that. Trent Barreta used the Cradle Belly to Belly Piledriver for the win. The Jr. Heavyweight division in Pacific Northwest is full of talent and whoever becomes the first champion of the promotion will have a lot of talent lining up!
Pacific Northwest ring announce Byron Saxton announces to the crowd he has been informed that Tyler Breeze has entered the building!
Heavyweight Grand Prix
Leo Kruger
versus
Magnus
This is Group B action in the Heavyweight Grand Prix, where both Leo Kruger and Magnus are 0-1 to start the tournament and need wins in their respective matches to have any hope of advancing to the finals of the tournament. Magnus lost to Roman Reigns, who appears to be the front runner of Group B with a 2-0 record, in a hard fought match in the main event of the inaugural NWA Pacific Northwest show while Kruger was unable to overcome Brent Albright in his opening contest. These two men are behemoths, but Magnus proved dominant tonight, using the Kings Lynn Cloverleaf for the victory.
Tyler Breeze
versus
Tyson Kidd
Tyson Kidd has wrestled all over the world and at one point was one of the top superstars in the National Wrestling Alliance, nearly defeating Sheamus in a classic World Heavyweight Championship match in the former NWA Wildside territory. He has most recently wrestled with NWA California Pro, but his contract recently came up for renewal and Kidd chose to sign with Pacific Northwest, citing a wish for a change of scenery. Tyler Breeze is a self centered fashion model who, despite having a great deal of potential in the ring, has over estimated his talents. He enters the ring taking a "selfie video" on his smart phone, rarely changing his facial expressions.
The match was going fine for the first two minutes - it was your basic wrestling match - but Kidd elbowed Breeze in the face to escape a back grapple. The light elbow was oversold by Breeze, who flew out of the ring. He got up in a tantrum, screaming at Kidd. "Don't hit me there!" The match continued on for a few more minutes when Kidd hit an enziguri to ... you guessed it, Breeze' face! Breeze once again rolled out of the ring, air brushing a portrait over his face, and yelling for Kidd not to hit him in his moneymaker! "I told you!" With that, Breeze, his fluffy boots, and of course his cell phone, left the ring. Kidd was awarded the countout victory.
Heavyweight Grand Prix
"the All Night Wonder" Chris Wonders
versus
Drew McIntyre
Before this match started, Chris Wonders took the microphone. He said the Pacific Northwest shows have sure gone down in quality since he disappeared following his victory over Fandango at the first event, but not to worry, because "every girl's infatuation" is here to stay and here to dominate once again! McIntyre, who opened the tournament with a loss to Christian, was a worthy opponent for Wonders, showing the potential he carries with him in this industry. However, tonight it was a Wonderful night, as McIntyre tapped out to the Wonder Lock.
Before the main event, Byron Saxton has just been informed Tyler Breeze has left the building!
The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin)
versus
The Prime Time Players (Darren Young & Titus O'Neil)
As we found out earlier, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have a huge chip on their shoulder for the reaction to them announcing their intentions on becoming World Tag Team Champions. They cannot overlook their opponents tonight, however, as the Prime Time Players are more than capable wrestlers and definitely have the crowd on their side. During the Players' entrance, the fans were continually doing the Millions of Dollars shuffle and barking along with O'Neil. It was a match of power versus speed and which team could use their particular strength to their advantage? The fans thought the match was over at the ten minute mark when Sabin jumped off the top rope, but was caught mid air and slammed to the mat with the Clash of the Titus.
Shelley made the save, however, and the match continued. The ending came when Sabin rolled Young up for the surprise victory.
