We were back again at the Arnettsville Community Center and the crowd was buzzing over the fact that Spike Dudley was going to be in the ring tonight. He did some autographs and hung out with the fans prior to the doors opening. I usually make everyone on the card help set up the show, but this time I felt it would help to have Spike do a little meet and greet to give the fans something to tide them over until the doors opened.
The flamboyant Mike Hunt dominated this match, laying a beating into the blue collar looking Payne who had very little offense. Payne had a fighters will that forced Hunt to use not one but two of his side effect slams to put the upstart away.
Bookers Notes: This is the old school in me, but after nearly breaking his opponents neck at the last show, this was a "learning" experience. Pat is not only one of my trainers, he's also the locker room enforcer, hopefully this match will get C.W. on the right page.
Del Sol tried to use his speed to avoid the heavy hands of the former bouncer. Karnage looked frustrated as Sol would transition a few of Karnage's missed strikes into arm drags forcing the bigger man out of the ring. Sol kept up the advantage however with a flip senton to the outside! Heading to the outside was a bad idea for Sol, Karnage is very at home in a street fight enviroment and was able to make a comeback after lifting and dropping Sol throat first on the guard rail. Karnage brought his pool stick into play smashing it over the back of Sol with it snapping in half violently. When the match finally got back into the ring Karnage was dominate with his brick like right hand finishing off Sol with a mafia kick that turned the luchadore inside out.
Bookers Notes: I wanted to see how much Ken's learned so I put myself in a match with him, letting the match play in his favor with a lot of brawling. The match was pretty solid and I was pleased with the way things played out.
Anarchy came into this match with a game plan to keep the high flying Syko out of the air and on the mat. Anarchy has a very solid amatuer background using a lot of olympic style slams and transitions to control the match. Syko would fight back with wild punches, he's unpolished but he's not afraid of a fight. Syko would score with a roundhouse kick out of nowhere following up with an F-5 that nearly knocked off Anarchy, but somehow Chris was able to kick out after such a powerful combo. Syko went for another roundhouse kick a few moments later but got caught and dropped with a belly to back suplex. Anarchy tried to finish off the match with an olympic slam but Skyo was able to fight free before trying for a hurrincanrana, but Anarchy would counter with a sit down powerbomb to come away with a win.
Bookers Notes: Anarchy was in the main event of the first show, and he's kind of had a shakey time since then. This match was used to give Anarchy a solid win over a strong opponent so he can go towards a shot at Jojo's title.
The crowd gave a nice pop when "Highway to Hell" hit, as LSD came to the ring to face off against the agile powerhouse in Jackson Cole. Spike would literally go chest to chest with Cole but ended up taking a hellish barrage of rights and kicks from Cole. Spike would "hulk up" firing back at Cole with wild punches but Cole would cut him off with a headbutt, before using his raw strength to rag doll Dudley around the ring. Spike looked to be in a lot of trouble when Cole hoisted him up for his Negative Element (TKO) but Spike would fight free, trying for the acid drop but Cole would shove Spike over the top and out of the ring through a table at ringside! The crowd was stunned as the ref called the match as Cole stood over the broken body of "Little" Spike Dudley!
Bookers Notes: I was a fan of the matches between Mike Awesome and Spike back in ECW, so this match up just clicked for me. I didn't want to have Spike lose cleanly due to wanting an eventual rematch, but I wanted Cole to come out looking strong. I think that this made both things possible.
Jackson wouldn't leave the ringside area, and he didn't show any emotion as EMT's carted away Dudley. Cole would take a chair from the crowd to sit ringside for the main event match.
Darrius looked focused on this match, after getting robbed last week by Demented pulling his tights to steal the win. The match started a lot like the last with a slow chess match going on between both men, who looked to exploit an opening. Darrius was able to out wrestle Demented trying for a spinning toe hold but Demented would kick him off, but it was obvious rather quickly that Darrius was targetting the knee of the champ. Darrius was like a pitbull attacking the knee of Demented even pulling the pad off of the monsters knee throwing it out of the ring. Demented was hobbled but continued to fight with the killer instinct that he's known for. Demented wanted to throw a superkick but his knee buckled as Darrius would go back at the knee trying so hard to grind out a championship. Darrius was going to come off the ropes to deliever more damage to Demented but Cole would hop up tripping up Darrius who would have words with the man he's been partnering with. This allowed Demented to get the roll up again to steal the victory again.
Immediatly after the match Cole and Demented were all over Darrius like a pair of wolves! Demented was able to snap off a superkick on a dazed Darrius who was caught by Cole, who executed a Negative Element(TKO) to leave Darrius out cold. Cole would get on the mic after the mugging, he's one of the most charasmatic men on the roster and he let everyone know they just witnessed the birth of another alliance. This is the Alliance of Violence![/color]
Bookers Notes: Demented and Cole do a lot of practicing together, they were even roommates at one point. I like the thought of Darrius being a top tier hero against a very well oiled team. Trent and Cole pairing up outside of PvP really made this a swerve even though I never intended it to be.
