NWA Hybrid Pro TV Results 27/09/2013
The show begins with Hybrid pro owner Magnus D making his way to the ring. He announces that Hybrid pro will be holding an iPPV called Retribution on October 13th, 1 week before Fall Brawl. Matches will be announced over the coming weeks, and perhaps even on this very show.
Daniel Bryan vs Bobby Roode
Obviously a non-title match, and what a way to open the show as two of the finest wrestlers in the sport do battle. The match wrestling exchanges were fantastic, but Bryan had the edge in that department, not to mention he was the quicker of the two. Roode's only chance was to outfight Bryan, which he was able to do, but even then Bryan is just so resilient and you cannot keep him down for long. Bryan managed to lock in the Yes Lock for the submission victory, there's no shame for Roode losing to someone as talented as Bryan however.
Winner- Daniel Bryan
Post match Bryan vows that he will gets his World Junior Heavyweight Title back from the man who stole it, Paul London.
Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring.
Zayn: Adam Pearce, you beat me last week, and within the rules of the match I can't deny it was fair, but the way you won disrespected me and it disrespected all that you supposedly stand for. For me this has gone beyond a simple case of new school vs old school, I'm now fighting for my honour as a professional wrestler, something which you have proven you have none of after the way you've tried to end my career. I want one more match with you Adam, one more, and if I lose then I will quit this business forever.
Adam Pearce makes his way out onto the ramp.
Pearce: Thats real nice Sami, but the fact of the matter is you lost, your the loser and I'm the winner. I have nothing left to prove against a gymnast like you, so the answer is no.
Pearce turns to leave, but Sami interrupts him.
Zayn: DON'T TURN YOUR BACK ON ME! I've fought too long and too hard to get where I am today, and I will not let you end this thing like this. I will do anything to get that match, you can even name the stipulation if you so wish, just give me the damn match!
Pearce turns around and contemplates this, and is then ready to answer.
Pearce: Alright mr gymnast, I'll give you an opportunity. After all I know I'm going to beat you and end your career at the same time, but your going to have to earn the right to face me. At Retribution, your going to take on an opponent of my choosing, an opponent that I won't reveal until the day of the show. If you can beat him, you can take me on in a Steel Cage match at Fall Brawl!
This is huge, Sami Zayn face Adam Pearce's mystery opponent at Retribution, and if he wins he will take on Adam Pearce inside of a steel cage at Fall Brawl. I can't wait to see this unfold!
NWA Hybrid Pro TV Title Match
Austin Aries vs Kyle O'Reilly
A big opportunity for O'Reilly here, taking on a veteran in Aries who has defended the TV Title with honour and respect since he won it from TJ Perkins. This was a very match based affair, much like our opening contest, and you could not split these two in that department, Aries was perhaps the better wrestler but O'Reilly in a master of submissions and worked Aries' leg to perfection to setup the Anklelock. And had it not been for a rope break, Aries may have very well tapped to that hold when O'Reilly locked it on. However Aries escaped, fought back and locked in his own submission, the Last Chancery, and that was enough to make O'Reilly tap and help him retain his title.
Winner- Austin Aries
Aries takes the mic post match.
Aries: Kyle, you did well, this wasn't your night, but I know you'll get there and will be a big star in this industry. Hybrid pro I've beaten everyone you've put in front of me so far, and I know you'll keep providing top quality challengers. I'm ready to defend this belt at Retribution against anyone.....
Before Aries can finish, the chalkboard scraping voice of Bo Dallas can be heard as he sing "Don't Stop Boleiving" all the way down to the ring. God help us all.
Dallas: Thank you all, my adoring fans, for cheering me and chanting my name. Now Austin, I'm sure you had something very important to say, but I've got a new CD to promote so you can get out of here. It features my duet with Just...
Aries snatches the mic back from Dallas.
Aries: Kid, don't ever interrupt "A-Double". if you think these fans are chanting your name, your the most deluded man in the NWA< they are BOOING you and want you to go away.
Dallas: Now Austin, that's just not true, these fans love me and love to chant "Bo" when I talk, when I sing and when I entertain. Your the deluded one if you don't think these fans want a signed copy of my brand new CD!
The fans are booing and all seemingly want to kill themselves at the thought of having to listen to 12 tracks of Bo Dallas songs.
Aries: You are without a doubt the most annoying human being I've ever met, and I've met Brooke Hogan so thats saying a lot.
Dallas: I love Brooke, in fact me and her are going to do a live duet next week for you all. Now if you'll excuse me Austin, I've got to go sing and sign some autographs.
Dallas goes to leave the ring, but ARIES HITS HIM WITH THE TV TITLE, THANK FUCKING GOD! The fans could not love Aries any more at this point as he mocks Bo for a bit before leaving.
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match
Da Baldies (Luke Gallows and Giant Bernard) vs The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson)
The Young Bucks realised pretty early on that they had to treat this as less a wrestling match and more an all out fight, which is what they did. They gave it their all here, combining their fists with high flying and it was somewhat effective, but even then it was difficult for them to compete with the brawling/power combination of Da Baldies. Da Baldies then got bored it seems and grabbed their singapore canes, proceeding to smash the hell out of The Young Bucks with them for an instant DQ.
Winners- The Young Bucks by DQ
Da Baldies continued to beat the hell out of The Young Bucks until they were a bloody mess on the canvas. Da Baldies then challenged them to a No DQ match at Retribution, I fully expect the Bucks to accept and that match can be added to our card.
NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title Match
Sami Callihan vs "The Caged Animal" Brian Cage
Arguably the two brightest prospects in all of Hybrid Pro, with Callihan fulfilling his true potential by winning the belt from Karl Anderson last week, while Cage has been chasing gold ever since his TV Title loss. But there was more to this than pure gold, indeed if Cage could win this match he would get his shot at Matt Taven which he has been trying to get for weeks now. These two matches up well, the raw power and technical skill of Cage meshed well with Callihan's crazy hardcore style. Callihan cost himself this match, I don't think he really cared, when he no sold a Lights Out from Cage and smashed him in the face with glass covered knuckles.
Winner- Brian Cage by DQ
Cage doesn't seem too annoyed to have lost the match, just escaping with his life in a match with Callihan is enough. He will also get his match with Matt Taven, which will happen at Retribution on October 13th.
Speaking of Taven, he and The Pistols make their way to the ring. Tony Nese takes the mic first of all.
Nese: I hear that some Mexicans want to face us for these belts at Fall Brawl. I don't know if you realised it but these are the NORTH AMERICAN Tag Team Titles, there's no way we are going to let these fall into Mexican hands. The Pistols are fighting champions however, so we are more than happy to go down there to Mexico and face you in a non-title match. If you win, maybe you'll get that shot at Fall Brawl.
Matt Taven nods and takes the mic.
Taven: Now there's a very good reason that I've placed this task in the hands of Tony and Samuray, it is because of YOU Baldies. I'm not even sure why we are fighting other than you guys seem to want to cause utter anarchy on every single show. This thing needs to come to an end, so get out here and hear my proposal.
Karl Anderson along with the rest of Da Baldies make their way out onto the ramp. Anderson has a mic.
Anderson: Why does it have to come to an end Matt? I enjoy bringing a weekly dose of anarchy for the fans by beating the hell out of your group of sissy boys. If you want to know what our reasoning is, well, we don't have one other than we love to fight and love to beat the hell out of those who get in our way. Right now, thats you guys.
Taven: This thing has gone on for long enough without a purpose, its time to decide who is better. Thats why I'm proposing that at Fall Brawl, we face off in a No Disqualification, Elimination tag team match. The winners can call themselves the better men, while the losing faction must split up!
Anderson: You've got yourself a deal son, but one thing. We haven't had our weekly dose of anarchy yet, so lets take care of that now!
Anderson and the rest of Da Baldies run down to the ring with singapore canes in hand and proceed to fight The Pistols. Chaos reigns again as officials rush to the ring to break this thing up. What a match we have in place for Fall Brawl!
Christopher Daniels vs Dan Maff
This one was deeply personal for Daniels, Maff is the only member of the current incarnation of The Prophecy who was in Daniels' version of the group, so Maff effectively betrayed Daniels by being part of this version. These two had a fantastic main event match, with Maff using that destructive power that brought him the Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title, while Daniels had to try and outwrestle and indeed outfight the big man, a challenge that he was more than up to. This one went back and forth, but in the end Daniels scored the pinfall, hitting a Reverse STO followed by the BME to get the 3 count.
Winner- Christopher Daniels
Post match The Prophecy stormed the ring, trying to give a 6 on beatdown to Daniels, but before they could The Group ran out and evened the odds, as The Prophecy scattered and surrounded the ring. Before a fight could break out, Magnus D came out onto the ramp.
Magnus: Retribution wouldn't be complete without settling the issues between The Prophecy and The Group once and for all. That's why I'm assigning two key matches to this show. First of all, there will be a big 5 on 5, No DQ elimination tag team match between The Prophecy of Kyle Matthews, Jack Swagger, Dan Maff, "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero and Azrieal and The Group of Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Johnny Gargano, Kenny King and Rhett Titus. And the second match is one that we have all been clamouring for, and that is Daniel Bryan defending his World Junior Heavyweight Title against the man he has driven insane, Paul London, in a best 2/3 falls match!
The fans explode for both announcements, and Retribution is going to be off the charts! Make sure to tune in next week to Hybrid Pro TV with the last of the build-up to this massive iPPV event!
