The show opens with Jackson Cole storming around in the backstage area of the Arnettsville Community Center. Last show Cole came up short in a match for the North American title thanks to Trent Darrius getting involved. Cole was hell bent on finding Darrius, meeting up with Demented to administer a two on one beat down. Darrius looked calm and cool in the face of what was a potentially bad situation, as he unveiled that he brought a friend to tonights show, "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen! The Alliance of Violence backed off but not before a match was made for the main event between the two pairings.
This opening match featured two masked men, with Sol really playing to the crowd. Anti-Social dominated the match with his creepy and unorthodox style. Sol played to the crowd trying to dig down deep for the fans in attendence but ended up getting caught trying for a cross body where Anti-Social would counter driving him to the mat with Trepidation to win the opening contest.
Bookers Note: I put on the Sol mask to take on Jackson under the Anti-Social mask, we have a lot of chemistry so I figured we could put on a good opening match.
Payne opened the match swinging for the knock out against the flamboyant Hunt, who had no choice but to cover up. Payne is an intense brawler who brought the fight but Hunt would come back with heavy hands of his own, before taking Payne to the mat and showing him how talented he is as a wrestler. Payne looked to scurry away but eventually got folded up with a suggestive match book pin giving Hunt the win.
Bookers Note: This was another match to give Payne experience in front of the crowd with his trainer.
These two wrestled last week and they went at it again tonight. Syko and Smith started off the match slow with a lot of basic holds but then ramped it up through the match going counter for counter with Syko eventually catching Smith with a nice roundhouse kick to the side of the head, almost getting a three count. The match continued with Smith looking a bit dazed but he continued to bring the fight to Syko, trying for a Go To Sleep but Syko would slip free and roll up Smith pulling the tights long enough for a three count.
Bookers Note: I have a lot of fun working with Billy, and he asked to work me again this week so I agreed.
Karnage has been doing so well in PvP, finally getting a shot at the Tri-County title. Jojo looked to be the underdog against the larger Karnage. Jojo was dominated by the strength of Karnage who almost got dq'd for choking the life out of Jojo at one point. Jojo was able to duck a mafia kick, which gave him the opening to hit a chop block cutting Karnage down to size where the former golden glove could tee off. Jojo is the smallest wrestler on the roster but he's got the biggest amount of fight. Karnage was absolutely stunned that Jojo still had so much in the tank, and he just kept coming at the challenger. Karnage nearly broke Jojo in half with a sitdown powerbomb that gave Karnage the victory, crowning him as the new PvP Tri-County Champion!
Bookers Note: Karnage has been doing a great job lately and I gave him the title as a reward. I also want Jojo to go for bigger and better things.
Kevin Steen came into this match enjoying himself, taking this as more of a vacation than a serious match up. The Alliance quickly wiped the smirk off of the face of Steen with Cole blasting him with a series of forearm shots. Steen was able to fight back putting Cole into the corner for a cannonball flip knocking the wind out of Cole. Steen was quickly back to his smack talking ways as he jawed with the fans, controlling the pace of the match. Cole was eventually able to create some space hitting a leaping enziguri before tagging out to the PvP champ, Demented. The Alliance worked very well together keeping Steen from Darrius who was so frustrated that he wasn't getting into the match. Steen was able to fight out of an attempted Negative Element, hitting a huge belly to back suplex that stopped the Demented cold. The Alliance tried to cut off Steen from his corner but Kev would fight back and make the tag to Darrius who would come in snapping off Anderson inspired spine busters that sent the Alliance scattering. Steen and Darrius would stand tall in the middle of the ring before the ref restored order. The match continued with Darrius trying for a top rope elbow drop on Cole, but Cole was able to get out of the way letting Darrius crash and burn. The Alliance tried to hit a variation of the 3D but Steen made a blind tag. Darrius was able to squirm enough to break up the tag move and Steen spiked Cole with a package piledriver giving his team the win.
Bookers Note: This was a fun match to watch, and it was great having Steen involved.
