NWA Hybrid Pro TV 13/12/2013
NWA Hybrid Pro owner Magnus D makes his way out to the ring, pushed down to the ring by his security force, as the fans boo. Magnus has some stuff to say obviously.
Magnus: "I bet you think that outsmarting your boss is hilarious Mr London. Well Paul, two can play mind games, and I have one that I just know your going to love. Can Brian Kendrick make his way out to the ring, I have a proposition for him. "
Brian Kendrick heads for the ring, a look of confusion on his face. Kendrick came through the same training school as Paul London and Daniel Bryan.
Magnus: "Now Brian, I have an opportunity for you like no other. How would you like a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Championship next week on Hybrid Pro TV? All you have to do is win 1 match tonight and that shot is yours. Do you accept? "
Kendrick takes the mic.
Kendrick: I don't trust you one bit Magnus, but if a shot at the belt is on the line then I'm sure as hell going to accept. Who is my opponent.
Magnus: Haha, opponent Mr Kendrick. That isn't a plural, your facing OPPONENTS tonight. Your opponents are none other than my entire security force in a 3 on 1 handicap match!
This is sick, Kendrick doesn't stand a chance.
3 on 1 Handicap Match
Brian Kendrick vs The Security Force
Kendrick is a sitting duck, against 3 big men like Magnus's security force, he doesn't stand a chance. The security force slowly and surely pick apart Kendrick, who's only hope was to head to the top and do something crazy, which he rarely got a chance to do. But then something unexpected happened, the referee took a fall in the corner when Kendrick missed a charge. Daniel Bryan and Paul London charged the ring with steel chairs, taking out the security force with some vicious shots! Kendrick grabs the remaining guard, SLICED BREAD #2. 1-2-3, KENDRICK WINS IT!
Winner- Brian Kendrick
Magnus is fuming at ringside, once again he has been outsmarted by London and Bryan, who appear to have Brian Kendrick on their side as well. And as a result Brian Kendrick will face Christopher Daniels for the World Heavyweight Title next week on Hybrid Pro TV!
Paul London stays in the ring, as he has something to say while Magnus is wheeled backstage.
London: "Certain people didn't want me to achieve what I have, and that is to earn a title shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Christopher Daniels. But I've god damn done it, and I'm not going to let it go to waste! "
The crowd love that and chant "London" over and over.
"Thank you all, and I also want to say thanks Daniel Bryan, you gave up a shot because you didn't want to see another injustice, and I promise that if I win the belt your the first man to get a title match. But lets get down to business. Christopher Daniels, I have a proposition for you, one that I hope you will at least consider. You are coming to the end of your career, one thats filled with great achievements and one that will end at Starrcade whether your still champion or not, yet you don't have an opponent. I'm sure you know whats coming: I want to use my title shot to face you in that final match of your career at Starrcade!
Maybe you wonder what gives me the right to request that when there are so many other great wrestlers you could face: Samoa Joe, Johnny Gargano, AJ Styles, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Adam Cole, the list goes on and on. Well there's one reason, and maybe you could call it a selfish one. If I face you now Chris, I'll be screwed over by Magnus D, he'll send his security out there and take me out, and cost me what might me by one and only shot at NWA World Heavyweight gold. Maybe you'll say its what I deserve for being a part of The Prophecy, but it was Magnus who forced me to be part of that thing in the first place. I need time to take care of that side of things before I can face you in a match of the highest calibre, free of outside interference that will give you the greatest send-off possible.
I know your a champion of honour Chris, a man who saved the NWA from its greatest ever threat, it'd be the biggest honour of my career to face you in your retirement match for that title. Its your decision, take your time and when your ready give me an answer."
What a bombshell Paul London has dropped, the question is will Christopher Daniels accept?
Samoa Joe vs Karl Anderson
While Anderson is a former 2 time Hybrid Pro champion, he was at times just cannon fodder for Joe in this match, a man who has missed out on two opportunities to get what he wants: a shot at the World Heavyweight Title. Anderson is a Hybrid Pro veteran however and knows how to win, he was able to wear down Joe's onslaught and come very close to winning this match, indeed had it not been for a fortunate rope break the match could have ended after a Gun Stun. Joe fought back and managed to nail the Muscle Buster, getting 3 and picking up a much needed victory.
Winner- Samoa Joe
4 Way Match
Antonio Cesaro vs Austin Aries vs Bobby Roode vs Tyson Kidd
A showcase for 4 men who have perhaps become a bit lost in the shuffle in Hybrid Pro recently, with all the chaos caused during the Hybrid tournament its understandable that a few great talents would get left behind. As a result all four were determined to get a victory here to build some momentum and take them towards future glory, and that of course lead to a top notch match. And the man who would come out on top was Roode, who pinned Kidd after the Payoff.
Winner- Bobby Roode
The Pistols make their way to the ring to a mixed reaction, with the crowd becoming more and more pro-Revolution. Taven takes the mic.
Taven: "I don't know what your problem with me or The Pistols is Johnny, but we haven't ripped off anyone. You see, The Revolution always struck me as a group that was about one man: you Johnny Gargano. You were always the top dog, while the great talents of Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly were confined to tag team wrestling, and Chuck Taylor's chances were scuppered time and time again so that he wouldn't take your precious spot. Meanwhile we The Pistols are all on a level playing field. I rarely wrestle so as to give the great talent I have a platform to showcase their potential, and they have grown under my leadership. Whether or not you can accept that, that is the truth! "
The fans respond, they seem to see Taven's side of the argument. Johnny Gargano and The Revolution come out to the ring, minus one man: Drew McIntyre, who left for NWA UK yesterday.
Gargano: "Your missing the point entirely Matt. I'm not saying your group hasn't got some worth, you've done well with what you have for sure, but my point is that if it wasn't for my Revolution, you wouldn't have had the idea for The Pistols in the first place. Had we been around when you formed this faction, everyone would have called you Revolution lite, but because we weren't, you got away with it. You can't deny that your a group of young, hungry talents, which is EXACTLY what The Revolution is. And who always gets the big matches Matt? That man would be you. When was the last time Tony Nese competed in those big singles matchups? What about Samuray Del Sol? Your not even half the group we are, and our war begins tonight!"
The Revolution attack The Pistols and a mass brawl break out, which The Pistols are winning thanks to their numbers advantage. That is until DREW GULAK CHARGES THE RING! He evens the odds and the brawl gets more and more out of control, as officials charge down to break things up. When will we see the first match between these two factions?
NWA Hybrid Pro Tag Team Title Match
The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) vs The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff Hardy)
A lot of people call The Young Bucks a modern day version of what The Hardy Boyz were a decade ago, and its a fair comparison, one you could see in this matchup. Well, that is if you take away how fat Matt is and how high Jeff is, then its a fair comparison. A good match overall with some fun back and forth, especially when Jeff was in there, yet I still got the feeling that if we'd seen this 3-4 years ago it could have been amazing. The Young Bucks retained their belts following More Bang For Your Buck on Matt,
Winners- The Young Bucks
NWA Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Title Match
Sami Callihan vs Sami Zayn
A fantastic matchup, one that arguably stole the show and genuinely caught me by surprise considering the style difference between the two men. Callihan was as vicious as you would expect him to be, but took more of a mat game in this one that he usually would, trying to work within the rules but occasionally crossing the line. Zayn meanwhile showed all of that heart and determination that has brought him this far, he just would not stay down and make fightback after fightback with a combination of aerial and high impact offense. Even Callihan's Stretch Muffler couldn't make Zayn tap, he somehow made the ropes and Callihan's frustration grew. It grew so much that he actually went after a weapon, a steel chair, which he looked to smash Zayn with. H wrnt for it, but Zayn ducked and booted the chair into Callihan's face! Zayn then climbed onto the apron, SPRINGBOARD TORNADO DDT! 1-2-3, NEW CHAMPION!
Winner- NEW Hybrid Pro Heavyweight Champion, Sami Zayn
Zayn celebrates an utterly momentous achievement, his first Hybrid pro gold and its the big belt. Congratulations to Sami on this massive achievement!
Main Event, Tag Team Grudge Match
The Hybrid Athletes (Kyle Matthews and Jack Swagger) vs Vordell Walker and Alberto Del Rio
If The Hybrid Athletes win, Walker and Del Rio must admit that Matthews and Swagger are the better men, but if Walker and Del Rio win they get what they have been craving, a match against former World champ Matthews with a stipulation of their choosing. And what a heated match this was, The Hybrid Athletes showed their great teamwork, but had to bend the rules a lot to stay ahead of their determined opponents. Walker and Del Rio matched the Hybrid Athletes on the mat, with both Walker and Del Rio looking to give Matthews a separated shoulder with their submission holds while Swagger could only defend with power. The match broke down towards the end, with Del Rio taking care of Swagger on the outside while Matthews called for the Hidaka Lock on Walker. He went for it but Walker reversed to the Juji-Gatame! Matthews tries to reach the ropes but he can't, and Swagger isn't here to help him. MATTHEWS TAPS, VORDELL WALKER MADE THE FORMER WORLD CHAMP TAP!
Winners- Vordell Walker and Alberto Del Rio
A stunning win for Walker who condemns Matthews to another defeat, he's only won 2 matches since he lost the belt a few months ago. Now he has to face both Vordell Walker and Alberto Del Rio in singles competition, and with the way those two looked out there tonight you have to think Matthews could be facing 2 more defeats. See you next week folks!
NWA Hybrid Pro owner Magnus D makes his way out to the ring, pushed down to the ring by his security force, as the fans boo. Magnus has some stuff to say obviously.
