Costello Athletic Center, Lowell, MA
*The show opens with Perry Saturn coming out to the ring to sounds "No Remorse" by Metallica, the original Eliminators theme music, as the fans here in Lowell cheer on the living legend. This isn't exactly a packed house, and the production isn't exactly top notch, but there is a group of very loyal and enthusiastic fans here wanting to see a raw wrestling show, and Saturn looks very pleased with the turn out. He's overcome some major problems over the years, so maybe he's just happy to be anywhere doing anything.*
Perry Saturn:
Hey there all you freaks, did you come to see some action or what!?
*The fans let out a cheer of approval.*
Perry Saturn:
Alright, alright, we got some big stuff comin' atcha tonight! We got a tournament going down, gettin' started tonight, with some of the sickest, meanest, weirdest, insanest sons of bitches you've ever seen and probably never heard of going at it, because they've got nothing better to do and want to win a gold belt. I can dig that, man, but then, in the main event, we've got, like... four pretty boys you have probably heard of, and they're going to flip around and do a bunch of insane shit, and that's going to be for the World Tag Team titles!
*The fans give a big cheer here, as they are ready to see some action and all of that sounds pretty good.*
Perry Saturn:
So... fuck, bring 'em out! Come on!
*Saturn is just insane, and the fans are eating it up. Some music hits, I'm not even sure what music it is, and the first competitor of the first match makes his way out.*
MATCH ONE
CHARLIE HAAS vs. JAKE CRIST w/ Dave Crist
CHARLIE HAAS vs. JAKE CRIST w/ Dave Crist
Haas looks extra confident coming in, while Crist is all business. Crist is accompanied by his more wild looking brother, who cheers him on. Haas is no stranger to dealing with tag teams or siblings, having been primarily a tag team specialist his entire career, taking this territory by storm over a decade ago with his late brother Russ as part of the phenomenal Haas Brothers tag team, later finding even greater success with Shelton Benjamin in the World's Greatest Tag Team. Haas uses his superior size and experience to get over on Crist early, showing his amateur wrestling acumen that he used to gain him collegiate success at Seton Hall University by grinding and punishing Crist all over the mat, mocking him as he does so. The fans were not happy about this, ostracizing Haas and the match in general, as this is not really what they were hoping for early on. Haas gets distracted jawing with them and pays for it, as he finds out that Jake Crist is far from a push over and he's got speed and moves to back up his claim to the Northeast Heavyweight championship. Crist is able to send Haas to the outside after some quick armdrags and dropkicks, finishing things off with a Huracanrana that makes Haas take heed on the outside, holding his head and then his back, trying to silence the fans, but Dave Crist is on the outside egging them on. Haas tries to get into it with Dave, but out comes Jake, who turns him around... OH! Haas ducks though, and Jake almost lays out his brother, stopping just short of knocking his lights out! Both men take pause, but Haas is quick to grab Crist from behind and drill him with a German Suplex on the concrete floor, sending "ooohs" and "awwwws" through the crowd! Haas sends Jake back into the ring and covers him, but only a two count! Jake still has some fight in him! Haas has had enough, and tries to lock on his Haas of Pain, but Jake manages to roll through it, and then catches Haas with a Knee to the Face, earning him a two count! Crist picks up Haas and tries to scoop him up for something, but Haas slides off his back, over matching the less built Ohio native and catches him with a brutal looking Reverse DDT! Haas hooks the leg, but Jake still kicks out! Haas picks up Crist and tries for a Vertical Suplex, but Jake catches him with a knee to reverse it, twisting in mid-air and catching Haas with a Stunner variation coming down out of it! Haas is down, and Jake rolls him up! Jake Crist has done it! Haas tries to kick out, but he's just a moment too late! Jake Crist advances in the tournament, while Charlie Haas is left ripping his hair out in the middle of the ring, the fans rejoicing at this surprising turn of events!
MATCH TWO
CHEECH w/ Cloudy vs. JOHN WALTERS
CHEECH w/ Cloudy vs. JOHN WALTERS
Both men are very experienced, and while there was a feeling out process here, Cheech managed to push the speed of it and get the better of "The Hurricane" early, taking him to the mat and showboating on him, getting the fans behind him early on. Walters managed to catch Cheech in auto pilot though a couple of minutes in, as Cheech tried to do a Corkscrew Crossbody Block from the top, only to get caught with a Dropkick to stop his momentum. Walters would mock the crowd, yelling, "You like that? This your hero, huh?" before clinching Cheech's head and driving multiple downward elbows to the bridge of his nose and forehead, sending the New York native into La La Land. Walters would continue to pick Cheech apart meticulously, punishing him with a very British style assault, taking him down with a Snap Suplex to start before grinding him into the mat and stretching him out, sending out cries of pain from the charismatic star. Cheech would manage to fight back, getting to the ropes to escape an STF. The fans would cheer him on, and Cheech would fight back gallantly, eating some chops, but answering back with a series of inside forearms, followed by Springboard Corkscrew Armdrag, and then a Spinning Wheel Kick for a two count. Cheech would go on to whip Walters into the corner as his partner got the fans rallying on the outside, only to a miss a big Diving Spear in the corner on Walters, sending him shoulder first into the turnpost. Cheech stumbles out, leading Walters to deliver a big time Lung Blower, but only a two count! Walters tries lifting Cheech here, looking for his Hurricane DDT, but Cheech slides off it and rolls him up with a High Speed Sunset Flip! He gets a two count! Walters is up and Cheech catches him with another quick roll-up, wheel barrowing him down into a pinning predicament, but still just a two! Walters is up, dazed, and Cheech rushes and catches him with the Running Single Leg High Knee! Walters is out, and Cheech covers for the three count! The fans are on their feet here, as Cheech comes out the unlikely winner and he and Cloudy are beside themselves! They go out and slap hands with the fans, who are giving them a very warm reception, while Walters sits in the ring, trying to figure out where it all went so terribly wrong.
MATCH THREE
FRANKIE ARION vs. MIKAZE w/ Jason Blade
FRANKIE ARION vs. MIKAZE w/ Jason Blade
Arion is absolutely nuts, getting up in the face of Mikaze early and slapping him, egging him on to slap him back. Mikaze answers, but Arion asks for more. Mikaze slaps him three more times, the last one staggering the Agawam, Massachusetts, native, leading Arion to unload with a flurry of kicks, followed by a kick to the gut and a Powerbomb attempt. Arion tries to lift Mikaze up for it, but Mikaze fights it, not wanting to go over. Arion goes nuts, unleashing a wild series of forearms to the lower back, before lifting with all of his might, only to have Mikaze flip over him and catch him with a Sunset Flip... OH! Arion rolls through it, and tries to catch Mikaze with a Seated Knee Strike, but Mikaze rolls under it and is up to his feet, running off the ropes and then grabbing Arion, spinning him and whipping him right over the top rope! Arion lands on his feet on the apron, but Mikaze catches him with a big forearm that sends him flying off into the guard rail! Arion staggers up, and Mikaze rushes out and catches him with a Suicida through the ropes! Jason Blade gets the fans behind his partner, and it's not hard to do after a move like that! Arion catches Mikaze with a low blow though not too long after that, turning the tides as he sends his opponent face first into the turnpost! Arion lifts him up now, and he nails him with a big Suplex right on the unprotected floor! Arion rolls Mikaze into the ring and then heads up top, coming off and drilling him with a Double Stomp, but only gets a two count! Arion is beside himself, lifting Mikaze up and attempting his Swinging Bulldog off the buckles, but Mikaze reverses it, sending him back first to the mat in a hard way! Mikaze proceeds to deliver a big Lionsault, but only for a two count! Mikaze sends multiple shoot kicks into Arion, goading him to get up as he's obviously done with his crap for the night. Arion takes down the straps of his singlet, feeling his crazy switch flip, and these two go into an all out battle of strikes. Arion catches Mikaze with a big Front Kick to the face to send him back into the ropes and effectively win the battle, proceeding to hit the Powerbomb he was looking for earlier, rolling up Mikaze, but only a two count! Arion picks up Mikaze, calling for the end, before attempting his Bulldog once more, but Mikaze stops him dead in his tracks this time, pulling him around and catching him with a Reverse STO! Arion eats the impact and falls back, allowing Mikaze to get up and jump to the top turnbuckle, delivering a nice looking Split Legged Moonsault, and it's all over! Mikaze has defeated the lunatic and has advanced in the tournament!
MATCH FOUR
GRAN AKUMA vs. TIM DONST
GRAN AKUMA vs. TIM DONST
Donst was very brash and animated coming into this, trying to goad Akuma into a fight early on, knowing full well his reputation as a striker and wanting to show everyone he could take his best shot. Sometimes you have to be careful what you ask for, however. Donst would stuff a few take down attempts by Akuma early, who was trying to start the match off by imposing some mat dominance, but Donst proved to be the more capable grappler and instead shoved off the more experienced star, yelling at him to, "Fucking hit me!" This lead to an exchange of slaps, followed by Akuma absolutely obliterating Donst with kick after kick, sending him into the corner and pummeling his chest with kicks before running and hitting him with a High Kick right across the face. Akuma goes on to deliver a big Falcon Arrow, attempting to finish the match, but Donst kicks out, fist clinched and a burning desire in his eyes. Akuma kicks him a couple more times, but Donst manages to duck a third and latch onto his back, locking him into a Tazmission! Donst wraps his legs around him, trying to choke out the star from Afar, but Akuma manages to get the ropes to break it. Donst lifts him up, though, not breaking the hold, and then sends Akuma right onto the top of his head with a Tazmission Plex! Donst isn't done, though, dropping his straps. He's hobbled and looks beaten, but he seems determined, grabbing Akuma by the waist as he is down. Donst lifts him and drills him with a Gutwrench Suplex, but he rolls through and lifts him, hitting another, and then another, and then another! Donst goes for a cover, but Akuma kicks out. Donst argues with the referee, unable to believe it as the fans show their appreciation for this action. Donst grabs Akuma's leg, looking for something, but Akuma catches him with a quick upward kick right to the face that sends him back against the ropes, staggering Donst! Akuma manages to roll him up with a Small Package as he stumbles forward, and that's it! He gets the three count, and advances in the tournament! Donst is out of it, not sure what happened, but you can see him get more and more upset as he comes to realize he just got basically knocked out.
MATCH FIVE
BIFF BUSICK vs. PETEY WILLIAMS
BIFF BUSICK vs. PETEY WILLIAMS
Williams is very quick and technically sound, and with his experience, he was easily the favorite in this match; that is, until you see Biff Busick. Busick proclaims himself to be "The Manliest Man," and the Boston native certainly looks pretty impressive. He's not the biggest guy around, but he is very lean and strong, and his style is very punishing. High impact and bruising seems to be the name of the game for Busick, and that, coupled with his power advantage, seemed to be a pretty good answer for the onslaught that Petey Williams brings to his matches. Williams would use his nimble speed and awareness to give Busick a run for his money, but Williams got caught springboarding off the middle rope and spinning with a huge European Uppercut that turned the tides for the Canadian star. From there, Busick would continue to just pummel Williams, taking knees and more European uppercuts to him before sending ten knife edged chops into his chest in the corner. Williams would fight back, catching Busick coming in with a head of steam in the corner with a boot, heading to the apron and then back in with a Slingshot Codebreaker, but Williams could only get a two count! Williams would then think about trying a Sharpshooter, but Busick powered out of it and caught him with a big Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex! From there, Busick would hit a Running Blockbuster, and it looked like he might have it won, but Williams still managed to kick out at two! Busick would wind up in the corner, stomping his foot, and then attempted a big time Lariat, but Williams ducked under it! Williams kicks Busick to the stomach, and he calls for it, looking for the Canadian Destroyer, but no! Busick drops to a knee and shoves Williams away! Williams tries to kick him again, but Busick catches the foot and spins him around... OH! Busick delivers a huge Lariat, and it's all over! Busick advances in the tournament, and these fans are loving it!
MATCH SIX
CHRIS DICKINSON vs. SUPER DRAGON
CHRIS DICKINSON vs. SUPER DRAGON
These two really have a lot in common, besides the fact Super Dragon is a mute and Chris Dickinson never gets tired of hearing his own voice. Dickinson and Dragon worked the smartest match that we've seen thus far, Dickinson managing to get them to loathe him early on with his provocative gestures and obscenities, and Super Dragon dutifully punishing like few others can. Dragon owned the opening five minutes of this match, out working Dickinson on the mat early (which is no easy task), and then taking it to him with some sound brawling around the ring, sending him into the crowd with a big spin kick and then actually hitting him with a huge Sit-Out Powerbomb on the floor right in the middle of the crowd, getting a huge pop for his troubles. Dragon walks off, uninterested in "The Original Death Machine" as he writhes in pain on the concrete. Dragon just waits, looking board with his arms resting on the top rope as Dickinson manages to get back into the ring while the referee generously counts slowly, allowing him to do so. Dickinson, not showing much in the brains department, goads Dragon into a brawl, motioning for him to bring it and mocking him. Dickinson and Dragon trade some very hard strikes, but it is clear Dragon is going to get the better of this. Dickinson attempts a huge Spinning Roundhouse kick as a last ditch effort, but Dragon ducks it and catches him with a big High Kick right across the face, followed by a big Half Hatch Suplex for a two count. Dragon picks up Dickinson off the mat just enough to pummel him with short upward kicks to the head and face, one after another, before pulling him into a Tiger Driver! Dragon holds, but Dickinson kicks out, not ready for the punishment to end. Dickinson manages to break away from an attempt at an Arm-Clutch Fisherman's Driver, managing to deliver an Exploder Suplex to buy himself some time. Dragon pulls himself up on the ropes, and Dickinson attacks with all he has, rushing in with a Flying Knee to the chest, followed by a quick order of open handed strikes, before finishing with that Spinning Roundhouse Kick he was looking for earlier, obliterating Dragon! Dickinson lifts him up, grabbing him into a Front Facelock and kneeing him repeatedly before delivering a massive Brainbuster, but only gets a two count on the pin attempt! Dickinson calls for the end, thinking he might be able to seal the deal. He locks Dragon in, looking for the Brain Eater, but Dragon manages to break loose and catch him with a Koppou Kick! Dragon grabs his legs, twisting him and everybody knows what's coming. Dickinson fights it like a pro, prolonging things, but it's inevitable. Dragon pulls back his arms, and then delivers the Curb Stomp! Dragon then heads up to the top rope, as Dickinson squirms on the mat. Nobody is quite sure what he is thinking here, but it's probably not good for Dickinson. Nope, it's not good at all. Dickinson raises himself to all fours, and he has a psychotic look in his eyes, trying to psyche himself up. It doesn't matter. Dragon flies off the top rope and comes crashing down, smashing the back of his head with a Double Stomp and sending him face first into the mat. Dragon makes the cover, and that's the end of that. Super Dragon advances in the tournament, and the fans eat it up!
MATCH SEVEN
AMAZING RED vs. TJ PERKINS
MATCH EIGHT
HOMICIDE vs. SONJAY DUTT
MATCH NINE
WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES
"Rockstars of Wrestling" JIMMY RAVE & JOHN MORRISON w/ Lena Yada & Rockstar Spud (NWAUK) {c} vs. "Young Buck$" MATT JACKSON & NICK JACKSON (Hybrid Pro)
AMAZING RED vs. TJ PERKINS
These two are nearly identical when it comes to their in ring styles and backgrounds in this sport, both having toured everywhere, trained with some of the best in the business, and having a style heavily influenced by both the Japanese and most especially lucha libre. The early portion of this match was very quick with technical chain wrestling counters, as both men know that they won't have a speed advantage so they were each hoping to establish some dominance on the mat. Perkins looked very confident and sure of himself, even mocking Red a bit as he would perform counters and perform different switches on the mat, but Red would manage to catch Perkins with a quick Kip-Up Hurricanrana into a pinning predicament to get a short two and keep the Filipino-American star on his toes. The fans showed some respect for these exchanges, marveling at the high energy mat work and enjoying the exchanges, but then came some really intriguing stuff. Red and Perkins would show great aptitude for action after this, running the ropes and performing takedown after takedown, accompanying these with strikes and counters that looked like they could have come out of a very well choreographed action film, only there are no "takes" here or stunt doubles, and it's all or nothing in the execution. Red would finally manage to catch Perkins with a Corkscrew Enzuigiri to send him through the ropes and to the floor. Red would pump up the crowd and then dive out, catching Perkins while in flight and taking him down on the concrete with a Spinning DDT! Perkins would eventually rebound, catching Red with an elbow to stop him from bringing things back inside, and then punishing him with a series of kicks. Red would fight back with kicks of his own, jumping up on the apron afterwards and then trying to fly off and catch Perkins with another Huracanrana, but Perkins caught him coming down with a Leaping High Knee, catching him right in the crotch for his troubles! From there, Perkins tosses him into the ring, the fans split half and half on their liking of what's gone down so far from this guy, and he proceeds to springboard in and catch Red coming up with a Flying Knee Attack, earning a two count in the process. Perkins grinds Red out for awhile on the mat, pinning him down a number of times for two counts, but he knows he has to pull out something more if he wants to end it. Perkins lifts up Red on his shoulders and he attempts the Detonation Kick, but Red manages to reverse the move into an armdrag! Red and Perkins do a quick run of the ropes sequence, before Red takes him down with a Swinging Huracanrana, followed by a Spinning Headscissors, and then he catches him as he gets up to a knee with the Huracanrana Driver! Red pins, thinking he might have it, but just a two! Red gets up, making a motion to excite the fans, and then tries for his Red Star Press, but Perkins avoids it! Perkins grabs him off of the mat and lifts him up, drilling him with a Bridging Tiger Suplex, but Red manages to kick out! Perkins hangs on and tries to lift him again, but Red jumps up and rolls him into a Jacknife Hold, getting a two! Red catches Perkins with a Shining Enzuigiri as they are rising, and Perkins is on Dream Street! Red heads up top facing away from the ring, but he's a touch too slow doing it. Perkins manages to find his feet, barely, and he manages to dive into the ropes, crotching Red on the top! Perkins stumbles over, heading up top, and he tries to pull Red's arms behind him for a Super Tiger Suplex, but NO! Red breaks free and catches him with a series of back elbows! Red then grabs him with a headlock and elbows him again to the back of the head before holding him in place, turning around on the top as he does. From there, Red hooks his legs behind Perkins' arms and then they both come flying off the top, Red nailing a huge Super Code Red, and Perkins is done for! Red gets the three count as the fans cheer on the Puerto Rican born star, and Red is headed to the next round of this tournament! You have to think he's a favorite to win it all after a performance like that!
MATCH EIGHT
HOMICIDE vs. SONJAY DUTT
Dutt would actually come out looking the more sinister of the two tonight, as he flashed stares of intensity towards "The Notorious 187" throughout their entrances, looking like he might want to commit Homicide's namesake if it meant he could advance in this tournament. Dutt would come out of the gate just as intense, trying to out match Homicide on the mat, but that's easier said than done and these fans were solidly behind the Brooklyn native tonight. Homicide would manage to get the better of Dutt on the mat and start picking him apart with some very smart, very well done brawling, using chokes and other roughneck tactics to really grind Dutt and make him pay. Homicide would take Dutt to the outside after pulling him under the ropes and elbowing him to the chest. From there, Homicide beats him from pillar to post before sending him back into the ring. Homicide comes back in with a Slingshot Senton Bomb, but only gets a two count on a cover. Dutt manages to catch 'Cide with a Jawbreaker, followed by a Tilt-to-Whirl into a DDT to get a two count and that was the beginning of a nice comeback for the Indian-American star. Dutt follows up by whipping Homicide and catching him coming back with a big Jumping Neckbreaker, but still just a two count. Sonjay then decides to call for the end, looking for his Sonjay Cutter, but Homicide shoves him away, sending him off the ropes and catching him with a Yakuze Kick that sends him back under the ropes onto the apron. Homicide rushes at Dutt as he gets back to his feet, but Dutt side steps a shoulder thrust, catching Homicide with an upward kick to the chest that spins him, and Homicide is dangling in the ropes... Dutt jumps up and takes him down with a big Legdrop, sending "The Urban Legend" down to the floor, hard! Dutt takes a moment to taunt the fans, who are coming over to his side slowly but surely, and he runs, scaling the buckles and then flies to the outside with a beautiful Moonsault variation that sends the fans to their feet and Homicide back down to the concrete! Dutt sends Homicide back into the ring, and then hops up to the apron, stomping his feet and goading Homicide to get up. Homicide stumbles up and Dutt slingshots, flipping himself in and catching Homicide with a Huracanrana! He holds, but only a two count! Dutt isn't done, though, as he tries the Sonjay Cutter again, but Homicide reverses it, catching him with an Ace Crusher! Oh! Only a two count! Homicide pulls him up, and he calls for it! One suplex... another... and another! He completes the Three Amigos and then heads up top... OH! Dutt manages to avoid the Frog Splash and tries for a Oklahoma Roll, but Homicide kicks out! Both men are up and Dutt comes in swinging, but Homicide ducks it, and spin kicks Dutt in the midsection. Homicide runs off the ropes, but Dutt is quick to follow. Homicide puts on the brakes, but Dutt gets ahead of him! Dutt turns and Homicide starts up again... he tries a Lariat, but Dutt drops to his back, and then Kips Up! Dutt catches him with a backwards kick, doubling him over, and BOOM! He nails the Sonjay Cutter! Dutt points to the sky, shades of Sabu, and he's goes up top! MOONSTOMP! Dutt scurries back to Homicide, and he covers him! It's all over! Dutt advances in the tournament!
MATCH NINE
WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES
"Rockstars of Wrestling" JIMMY RAVE & JOHN MORRISON w/ Lena Yada & Rockstar Spud (NWAUK) {c} vs. "Young Buck$" MATT JACKSON & NICK JACKSON (Hybrid Pro)
The entire Rockstars of Wrestling crew would come out and get a very negative reaction from these fans, as they flaunt the belts with obscene gyrations, goading fans by getting in their faces and turning things rather ugly early on. Yada and Spud would continue egging on the fans throughout the match, which lead to security having a very tough time tonight. The Young Buck$, the current Hybrid Pro Tag Team champions, really didn't let anything about this atmosphere bother them, instead they seemed to really feed off of the chaos that the Rockstars' circus seems to bring to town wherever they go, and looked to be the more focused and polished team early on. The brothers Jackson were very quick to tag in and out, showing their highly choreographed, high impact arsenal in full force early, gaining a number of near falls before we even reached the fifth minute of the contest. Rave would show his ring generalship by cutting down Matt Jackson in the middle of a particularly high octane sequence and then sending him to the outside of the ring, a proverbial "No Man's Land" for the Jacksons', as Yada and Spud would circle the ring, threatening to interfere, while Morrison also headed out, and everything just sort of spilled out there. Nick and Matt would manage to fight things off, with the help of a very diligent official in this contest, and they would actually make the best of it, Matt hitting a Front Flip Senton Pescado and Nick following up with an Asai Moonsault to get the fans going big time! Back in the ring, Nick would try to pin Morrison, but only earn a two count. Morrison would manage to catch Nick with a low blow, following up with a Flying Chuck to take him down for a two count. Morrison proceeds to hit the Moonlight Drive, but Matt breaks up this pin attempt. Rave manages to make his way back in, catching Matt with a huge Spear to take him down, sending him out of the ring! Nick Jackson catches Morrison with a big Superkick to send him back into the turnbuckles, following up with a Dropkick to Rave to send him out of the ring, and things look pretty good for the boys from Hesperia here! Jackson catches Morrison with a Leg Lariat in the corner, sending Morrison stumbling out and falling down to the mat. Nick heads up top, and he may be thinking 450 Splash, but Spud gets up on the apron and he looks like he's going for Jackson, but Jackson kicks him and sends him flying to the floor! Jackson then re-focuses himself, and he flies off, trying for the 450 Splash, but Morrison moves! Morrison stumbles up and runs off of the ropes, blasting Nick right to the face with a knee strike, and that's it! Morrison covers and it's all over! The Rockstars retain, but these fans are not happy about it! The numbers game just were a little too much for the Young Buck$ here in Lowell tonight.
