The Rockstars of Wrestling opened tonight’s show looking annoyed, pacing the ring as Spud types away on his ipad, Lena Yada takes the titles for her clients draping them over her shoulders. Spud frantically taps away at his ipad until he brings up the challenge from CPW’s Burchill and Jericho for the tag champs to re-watch. Rave got a mic and immediately accepted the challenge for Starrcade, but The Leaders of the New School, who already earned a shot at the tag champs came to the ramp to remind the champions that they’ve earn the shot. Rave and Morrison are so arrogant that they boasted that they could beat the New School any night! This brought out PM Nigel McGuinness who made the tag champions put their money where their mouth is, and had the Starrcade tag match happen right now!
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE BOUT
The Leaders of the New School(Marty Scurlls & Zack Sabre Jr.) vs. The Rockstars of Wrestling(c)(Jimmy Rave & John Morrison) w/ Lena Yada & Rockstar Spud
The Leaders of the New School(Marty Scurlls & Zack Sabre Jr.) vs. The Rockstars of Wrestling(c)(Jimmy Rave & John Morrison) w/ Lena Yada & Rockstar Spud
The tag team champions were a bit taken back as the New School rushed the ring and both teams brawled in the middle of the ring as Nigel ushered a ref to the ring to instill some order. The ref had a hell of a time trying to get something to stick as both teams really have heat with each other. Zack Sabre Jr. and Jimmy Rave started things off officially exchanging some holds that had both men at a stale mate. The match was so even that both men tagged out but the Rockstars used the time to get in a few tandem cheap shots that sent Sabre into a rage. The ref had his hands so full with Sabre that Marty was the victim of a double team from the champs until Sabre finally let cooler heads prevail so the ref can get back to the match. The Rockstars have such a great chemistry at this point and their aggressive and high risk attitude has gained them a lot of closet fans. You’ve gotta love them even when you wanna hate um. Marty is explosive and hit the graduation on John Morrison leaving both men gassed in the middle of the ring as both partners looked desperate for the tag in. The double tag brought in two fresh men who went at each other viciously with so much on the line. Morrison was able to cause a distraction however and Spud would hop on the apron smashing his ipad over the back of Zack’s head sending him walking into a pedigree from Rave giving the Rockstars the victory heading into Starrcade!
After the match the Rockstars would stand in the ring with their championships as Lena brought Rave a mic. “We’re the most dominate tag team in the new era of the NWA! Burchill you were too much of a coward to accept a spot in the King of the UK tournament, you should have stayed a coward! Come Starrcade we’re going to show your friends, your family why you tucked your tail between your legs and went across the pond! Jericho you were Rock n’ Roll once, but you just can’t hang anymore grandpa!”
Mic drop as the show heads to a commercial break.
TAG TEAM BOUT
The Welsh Warriors(Rob Terry & Mason Ryan) vs. The Kartel(Sha Samuels & Terry Frazier)
The Welsh Warriors(Rob Terry & Mason Ryan) vs. The Kartel(Sha Samuels & Terry Frazier)
The Warriors continued to bring about destruction as they entered this match up. Frazier tried his best to fight against the pair of powerhouses but eventually Sha Samuels asked and received a tag to see how he could size up against the monsters. Samuels fought hard taking shots at both men but ended up getting picked up and planted with a double spinebuster as the Warriors picked up another victory.
SINGLES BOUT
Jack Gallagher vs. CJ Banks w/ Dave Mastiff, Prince Nana & Lena Yada
Jack Gallagher vs. CJ Banks w/ Dave Mastiff, Prince Nana & Lena Yada
These two guys are so super talented and underrated, putting together a long chain of holds and counters that had the crowd and the ref stupefied. The counters got so intense that the ref actually slipped and tumbled, taking a powder out the ring as the two men in the ring kind of smirked at each other before waiting for the ref to get back in the ring! The crowd gave them a huge ovation for the spot as the ref called for the match to continue with both men still going counter for counter with each other! Gallagher would start throwing European uppercuts making the crowd “woo” with each audible strike as the Son of the Snake Pit started to edge out and take control of the match up! Gallagher would start to work over the back of Banks with a series of back breaker variation that would make even Roddie Strong take notice. Banks would get frustrated as he started to show off the mean streak that the Embassy has been trying to goad out of him. Banks would clip the leg of Gallagher before going at his knee like a pitbull. Banks was brutal burying knees into the skull of Gallagher trying to send a message that he’s a new ruthless man as Nana looks on with a huge grin. Gallagher would come back breaking a grapple from Banks pulling him in for some clutch knee strikes before coming off the ropes but Mastiff would blast Gallagher with a clubbing blow to the spine and it allowed Banks to hit a leaping knee strike that put Jack down for a three count!
SINGLES BOUT
Magnus vs. “The Man Gravity Forgot” PAC
Magnus vs. “The Man Gravity Forgot” PAC
Magnus looked to be all business as he got into the ring with PAC, and this match was a bit weird. Magnus wasn’t looking for a serious match and the ref was a bit concerned as Magnus would target the spine of PAC with everything. PAC was pinned in the corner as Magnus would hammer away at the spine of the high flyer. The ref DQ’d Magnus for not listening to the five count but Magnus would continue his assault shoving the ref away! Magnus would cap off the mugging with a Mag Driver leaving the scene as staff would rush to check on PAC. The question is why? Why would Magnus do something so heinous?
SINGLES MATCH
“The Future of UK Wrestling” Drew McIntyre w/ Alex Shane vs. Rampage Brown
Shane sat at the announce table putting over McIntyre as “The Future of UK Wrestling” posing the question on when McIntyre will get a shot at the crown? This match featured two talented and athletic wrestlers who put on a nicely paced match. Rampage hasn’t picked up a serious victory in NWA UK yet but you could just see the potential that he brings to every match he’s been in. This looked to be his break out win as he wore down McIntyre with a powerful bearhug before slamming him to the mat continuing to work holds on the mat. McIntyre would wrestle his way back up firing a knee into the gut of Brown before hitting a huge big boot that would be the start of the end for Rampage. The finish would come when Drew would spike Rampage with his FutureShock DDT to score the win in a nice match that will surely echo Shane’s cry for a title match.
Since joining the Embassy, Prince Devitt now has a small parade of people coming to the ring with him. The X division champion even comes to the ring sitting on the shoulders of Dave Mastiff!
NWA UK X TITLE BOUT
Noam Dar vs. Prince Devitt© w/ The Embassy
Noam Dar vs. Prince Devitt© w/ The Embassy
Dar is hot off a victory over state side in Windy City Pro Wrestling, and now tonight he’d get a chance to continue that momentum in a match against the NWA UK X division champion! Devitt was looking to put away this challenger on his way towards the big Starrcade triple crown match, so both men had so much on the line in this one. Dar really picked his shots trying not to get pulled into something with Devitt that could be disastrous, keeping the champ at bay with leg kicks that made the match look more like the early moments of an MMA bout! The crowd went wild as Dar got the better of Devitt slapping on a leg lock early! Devitt was too close to the ropes and got an easy break for the hold, but you could tell he was a bit surprised that Dar would be so bold. Devitt would become more aggressive letting his temper flare a bit as he blasted Dar with kicks so stiff that it actually tripped Dar, before Devitt would mount the challenger blasting him with forearm shots that made Dar cover up but Dar would catch an arm making Devitt guard against what could turn into a submission attempt. Noam started to build confidence that he could not only beat Devitt tonight but could go onto Starrcade with the potential to become the next NWA World Junior Weight champion! But he had to keep his mind on tonight and the man he’s facing now and Devitt reminded him of that by ringing his bell with a tornado enziguri kick! Devitt would try for a brainbuster but Dar would slide free hitting a lung blower that left both men down in the middle of the ring! Nana wasn’t smiling as Dar was pulling off the impossible as he brought the fight to the X champion. Dar would get to his feet the same as Devitt as both men started exchanging forearm shots with Devitt getting the advantage whipping Noam off the ropes trying for a baseball dropkick but Dar would leap over and roll, grabbing the ropes and hitting a springboard moonsault for a long two count on the champ! Dar would stand up on spaghetti legs egging on the champ and they’d exchange strikes in the middle of the ring again with the crowd going crazy! Devitt would block a strike and score with the pele kick putting Dar down. Devitt went for a double stomp off the ropes but Dar would roll out of the way trying to capitalize but Devitt would hit a boma ye before picking up and drilling Dar with a prince’s throne to finally put him away and retain his X division championship!
NWA UK TELEVISION TITLE BOUT
“The Football Hooligan” Danny Burch vs. “The Anarchist” Doug Williams©
“The Football Hooligan” Danny Burch vs. “The Anarchist” Doug Williams©
These two fan favorites would lock up in the main event for the TV title! The fans have asked for this match and this championship is a title built around the fans. Burch would come through the crowd even having a beer with one of the fans. The crowd was rowdy as this one got underway, even though the fans enjoy both men in this one, neither of them are angels by any means. This match was a drag out fight and the crowd ate it up. Burch tried to use his jacket to choke Williams, but the ref would take the jacket. The wily Burch was only looking to distract the ref as he went for a low blow kick but Williams would catch the foot and after Burch tried to plead for mercy Williams would smirk sweeping the leg and dropping an elbow making Burch bellow out in pain! Williams would show off his impressive wrestling skills finishing it off with a couple slaps to the face of Burch who looked a bit pissed that he was one upped. Burch would start bringing his street fight mentality into this one peppering the champ with punches and kicks before shoving him out of the ring! Burch would continue the fight on the outside slamming Doug against the metal railing, taking a beer from a fan smashing the cup over William’s head as he soaks in the cheers from the fans! Burch tried to use a chair on the champion but the ref would take the chair away at the last second and it allowed Doug to make a comeback as both men brawled outside of the ring. After everything the refs have been through tonight this one would let the rules hang loose. The scene got scary when Burch looked to hit the London Bridge on the outside hooking Williams’ feet on the metal railing but Doug would fight free and slam Burch against the apron bringing the fight back into the ring. Doug needed the match to stay in the ring, he was feeling the effects from the fight on the outside as he tried to grind out a victory. Williams tried for the chaos theory but Burch would fight the hold and continue the bout as he tried to wrestle the title from Williams going for the London Bridge again! The Football Hooligan would drop the champion with the hold and everyone was shocked as Williams would kick out! Burch would get up and kick the ropes arguing with the ref that it should have been three but the ref repeated that it was only a two! Williams would use the argument to his advantage scoring with the chaos theory but he would only get a two himself! The fans were chanting and cheering, the chants of a UK crowd are something unique and this crowd was really into it. The match continued with both men exchanging European uppercuts with Williams snapping off a gutwrench suplex trying to build momentum and get this match to end. Burch wouldn’t stay down long but Williams would hit him with a DDT before climbing the ropes hitting the bombs away knee drop off the top but still only got a two count! Williams was cussing under his breath at this point as Burch still stirred on the mat trying to get up and continue this match! Burch would come at the Williams with a flurry of punches but Williams would shoot behind and again hit the chaos theory this time however Burch wouldn’t kick out!
These two guys have a lot of respect for each other and eventually shook hands exhausted. The mood changed when the United Kingdom approached the ring. Obviously looking to punish Williams for siding with Lionheart, who wasn’t in the building tonight. Iestyn Ress, Joel Redman and Johnny Moss would climb into the ring as Hade Vansen would watch the ramp keeping watch. Dean Ayass would take the headseat from Dave Bradshaw making the tone very serious as the audio of the play by play guy would go out. Rees and Redman would hold up Williams for Moss who would pick his shots as he pleased. The crowd would pop wildly as “The Pukka” Darren Burridge would take off his headseat, shoving Dean Ayass on his ass before getting into the ring! Moss wasn’t amused that the retired star would interfere, but Burridge would shove Moss putting up his fists, you could tell Burridge was regretting getting in the ring against 3 men but he had to do something. Moss and Burridge would exchange hands in the ring and it allowed Williams and Burch to stir enough to fight back becoming a three on three fight in the ring! The United Kingdom was just too powerful, matched with Burch and Williams being worn out from their war, and the heroes didn’t stand a chance. The bright side is the beating on Williams wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been but the United Kingdom still stood tall as Burridge, Williams and Burch were laid out in the ring.
