It was announced that NWA Kenshiki’s next tour would be a five show tour in February, beginning on the 17th and ending on the 23rd. The tour will feature a ten man junior heavyweight grand prix tournament to determine the first ever NWA Pacific Jr. Heavyweight Champion. The winner of the tournament will also become Kenshiki’s number one contender to the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion. The participants will be announced on tomorrow’s show.
Match #5
Go Shiozaki
Go Shiozaki
versus
Hiroshi Tanahashi
The main event of the evening pitted two of the hottest wrestlers in Japan since the closure of Rising Sun Resuringu a year ago in Go Shiozaki and "the Ace" Hiroshi Tanahashi. Neither man gave an inch in the contest. Shiozaki was always a devastating backhand chop away from regaining control; likewise,Tanahashi used the Enziguri three separate times to stop Shiozaki's offence. It was Tanahashi's Dragon Rocket, though, that finally turned the contest in his favour. When he got Shiozaki back into the ring, hit hit him with the Sling Blade and finished him off with the High Fly Flow to win the first main event in Kenshiki history!
Following the match, Tanahashi says his goal is to become the best heavyweight in the National Wrestling Alliance. He has conquered the Japanese independent scene, will conquer Kenshiki, and will conquer the NWA by becoming World Heavyweight Champion!
